Low very bad costumer service!! Seems like the employees don’t want to be bothered plus produce if you have aver gotten good quality that must have been a lucky day and the meats omg it’s a shame how they would sell meat that smells like dookie never again will I shop there I rather drive 15 minutes extra and shop at NORTH GATE so just a heads up inspect anything you purchase from there health inspection should be done more often on them

I was trying to buy some meat from the meat department, Every person behind serving people never change gloves... they touch everything that was in front of them... counters, microphone, other meats, all without changing gloves... Cross contamination is no joke... Im not here to make fun, but to improve on the service and danger on food poisoning.

BEWARE. I have to update my review because I purchased Oaxaca FUD cheese and they change labels to extend the Sell By date. I just realized today when I opened a package with a sell by date of 4/30, today is 5/5/24 and the cheese was forming spots. Im reporting to the proper authorities for food and drug because that is just wrong. Other stores slash prices to sell by the sell by date, not re-label with a extended date. Another package before this was also double wrapped, but it was fine because I consumed quicker. I just realized today because the package had the square label cut off, and re-wrapped with a new label and sell by date. I have photos.

Clean store smells fresh as you walk in. Very appealing! Produce is up front and was at the time of our visit very fresh. Staff in that area was very helpful. Meat counter was well stocked and looked very fresh as well. Found every5hing we needed. First visit but not the last. Prices are better than the major chains (vons, Ralphs etc) also better variety of meats such as Carne asada, lingua, pollo asada.

Id like to go to El Super on Wednesday for their veggies and fruit specials and on Thursday for the meat specials. The only thing I dont like is that the store has a lot of cashier stands and 6 or fewer are open and it makes really long lines

I love the El Super in San Diego. I was hoping for a similar experience. Its not bad here. Its just not as good as other locations. Theres no aqua fresca bar, tamale bar or cafe. The non perishable section is a little small. The meat counter is incredibly chaotic, and it was very frustrating getting served which I have never experienced at their other locations. Great prices on meat and produce

I walked into the store in desperation to find a birthday cake and to my surprise they had a variety of them. Most of them were Dulce de leche cakes And it was tasty and fresh. I would definitely come back here to get another cake.

The first time I visit this store, honestly I think the last. From waiting at the meat department to the attitude the workers have. Not ok. It sux to see ur people treat people rude. When calling out the numbers for the next service they dont pay mind to see that the clients are raising their hands or saying Im here. They speed through the numbers and the lil old people trying to get their attention when they passed them up.

I have spent a career in the retail industry. I was quite impressed with this market. The prices are low, and the produce is extremely fresh. I came to pickup my favorite hot sauce, and found it much cheaper at this store.. Will be back for shopping.

Nasty produce! I bought a watermelon that was bad from the inside ! i spoke to the manager george and he’s VERY VERY rude just like the rest of his employees. Well stocked super market with great low price deals. Lots of parking spaces available . They are always herding the shopping carts and have a good amount to use. The fruit and vegetables are delicious. Long lines at the registers is normal. The cashiers are quick and kow how to perform their job effectivly . The bathrooms are usually clean.

Better than average. One person working the meat counter while 3 others walk around. Wait time was 25 mintues for service. I asked for help outside and the checker could not get anyone to help me so he shut down the register and helped me. Two registers open with 3 people each. Front end manager walking around. No help there.

Product they picture in their ad is not what they try to sell you. Pictured is pork spare ribs nicely trimmed and squared off. But what they sell are full ribs with inedible portions still attached. Butchers had to get translator as I dont speak Spanish. That always get the old why you dont speak Spanish? look! Then they stood there bantering away for quite sometime and I wished I had a translator also. In the end I was told he would trim them but I would have to pay for the junk he cut away. I blame myself for not paying attention in Ms. Endigs 7th grade Spanish class. I would have been able to eloquently ask him in Espanola to hook a brother up! 😃

This is my first time at El Super. Its a good Market. They have specials all the time and if you come on the right day the discounts get even cheaper. Ive been going to different markets comparing prices and this is one of the lower priced ones, definitely give it a try, they have a wide selection of foods, but be aware it is mainly an Hispanic market so youll find more Latino foods than most markets.

So I decided to go buy some chicken here.Girl who attended me in meat department wasn’t wearing a hair net. She wasn’t wearing gloves either. The customer she attended before me asked for shrimp. I asked her for chicken. Still no gloves neither did she was her hands. When I asked her to put some gloves on she was very rude. I informed her that would be cross contamination. She just laughed and had the nerve to gossip with her coworkers and laugh. At the end I didn’t take anything from meat department. At the end I just purchased fruit. As I got to the register I was attended by a cashier by the name Alejandra, which was very rude. This store doesn’t care about customer service at all. The employees are very rudeI will never go shop there again. I’d rather go shop at Northgate market. There prices are higher but your always greeted with a smile. As a grocery worker myself I am very unpleased at the store directors attitude and unprofessional way of dealing with customers. He is a rude, disgusting, arrogant man with no respect. A man that doesn’t take responsibilities for his actions or words. Just to get a refund he asked me what was I wearing the day that I bought the stuff (I told them I wouldn’t mind store credit) from my experience with customer service that is considered harassment. Never will I go to this store to get my groceries again.

The cashier threw the recite at me when she was done charging me. She kept disrespecting me. The manger mayra said that the cashier was doing her job. I guess they train there cashiers to disrespect the customers. Btw the supervisor santos doesn’t care, so Don’t waist your energy trying to inform him. He said he will check cameras and I felt ignored. Don’t waist your time and money here. There’s nothing good to expect in this place. Great market. Good variety. Some days are better than others.Im not sure if anyone else has encountered this issue, but I was having the most incredibly difficult time finding white nectarines anywhere, for the longest.I honestly felt like I remembered a fruit that no longer existed or what was going on, since not a lot of places carry them for some reason.Well, this place has them! And they are delicious to say the least.Oh one tip, do not under any circumstances buy capri-suns here, beyond overpriced!!! To say the least. In all honesty, Im not trying to promote or anything but wal-mart is the place to go for decently priced kids drink.This place though has a really good variety of things to choose from, like inka cola (Peruvian, scrumptious soft drink)Try it out, wont hurt you one bit, and you will leave happy.

Deli department needs to have the older women there take a class on how to respect people. An older woman named Coco working in the back was very rude and disrespectful, also, she shouldnt have been allowed to be working with meat if she is sweeping or cleaning, which was what she was doing before touching the meat. So nasty and unprofessional. The manager did take care of problem very well and he was very sweet, but I hope Coco loses her job. :)

Glad u ask. No one keep social distancing n no one in d store at least try to implement some kind of order. Not only that but i waited a little over an hour to get serve in the meat section. To add insult injury i saw one of your employees cut cheese with a knife and used the same knife to cut ham leaving all the remnants from the cheese on the ham. That is definitely grounds for salmonella (contamination) grounds for bacteria to grow. How can u run a business like that is beyond me. Someone needs to get fired. I ordered meat from the butcher dept. The older man behind the counter was using a hose to clean the floors. I said I wanted some chicken and carne asada. He didnt change his gloves when he grabbed the chicken and bagged it and then he went and grabbed and bagged the beef. First the gloves wear dirty he didnt change them to start with and then the cross contamination from the chicken and beef. Nasty place

A lot of the time they have very ugly, almost rotting produce. Almost every time I’ve been there’s only 2 or 3 people at the butchery and they work extremely slow. Right now I’ve been waiting for about 10+ minutes with 3 people behind the counter and they’ve only gone through 5 people.
