As first time homebuyers and being relatively new to San Diego, My wife and I were nervous going into the home buying process. Mike carefully took time to walk us through the entire process, respectfully answered our questions, vouched for our interests, and we successfully closed on an amazing home in a very competitive area in San Diego. Initially, when we first began looking into buying a home, we were a bit discouraged that we would be successful in finding and closing on a home that we liked, especially with going the VA loan option, but Mike and Eagle Nest R&M allowed us to feel confident that we could close despite a very competitive market. They took the time to explain things thoroughly and guided us in a way that was not expected, but very appreciated. I cant recommend Mike Erickson and Eagle Nest Realty enough! I was first introduced to Mike when I was ready to purchase my first home in 2011. It was a great experience then and I also reached out when my mom moved to CA in 2015 and she purchased a home, again a great experience. Most recently, my mom and I decided to relocate so I called Mike again to sell both homes. His expertise and help throughout the entire process was invaluable! He listened to my timeline and helped us establish a plan for getting ready to sell, listing, open houses, and the sale process after offers were accepted. He kept me well informed throughout every single step and never made me feel silly or overbearing when I came with lots of questions or different scenarios I wanted to walk through. When outside assistance was needed (like contractors to make some updates before listing or financing), Mike had great recommendations for folks and it was seamless all around. As I was working with Mike for my California home sales, I was working with another agent out of state for the next home purchases and the experiences were like night and day. She couldnt compare to Mikes thoroughness.Truly cant thank Mike enough for his services, kindness, and expertise. My only sadness is Ive now moved out of state and out of his territory for any future home sales or purchases!

Mike showed great knowledge and understanding of the current real estate market. He walked through my house and told us what had to be repaired, updated and/or replaced if I wanted to get serious buyers interested. He provided recommendations for very reliable workers who responded immediately for electrical, general carpentry, cleaning, and termite repair and tenting. We were well prepared for a 2-day open house, where we received multiple offers. He continued to advise me throughout closing and did a great job keeping a complicated process simple. For starters, Mike and his team is AWESOME. He saved us almost $28k!!! A little background: My wife and I found a great forever home. We were working with a lender, getting deep into the process. Our offer was accepted, we put a good faith deposit down and we were now in escrow. Once we received the loan estimate from our lender, we still owed about $8k on top of our good faith deposit. That just didnt sit well with us. In a roundabout way, we got Mikes contact info, and reached out to him on a Friday. He worked tirelessly all weekend and got us extremely better numbers. Not only did he save us almost $28k, but he also explains EVERYTHING. Weve never bought a home before so there were a lot of things we hadnt seen before that we had questions on. Mike would go line by line on the loan estimate and other documents on the phone with us. Although we switched lenders mid escrow, Mike was so prompt in his work and extremely diligent, that we closed only ONE DAY after our initial estimated close day. If youre looking for a home, this is your guy. Working with Mike will be one of the best decisions youll make when looking for your next home.

My husband and I could not say enough about how amazing working with Mike was, not only professionally but financially and personally, as well!We switched lenders while already in escrow and Mike made us feel so comfortable in the way he explained everything in detail, was able to save us close to 27k in closing costs, and still closed in only 26 days!!!My husband is a Marine Corps Veteran so we were able to utilize the VA loan. We were already in escrow on a property at the top of our budget and when we received the closing cost estimate from the lender we were working with at the time, we did not think we would be able to responsibly continue with the sale. We received Mike’s name from a friend and gave him a call to see if there was anything that might be different in what rates he could get for us. He quickly got back to us and estimated savings of 24k in closing costs with only an estimated 3 day extension in closing. He and his team then, very diligently, walked us through the best was to switch lenders in escrow - communicated wonderfully with our former lender, relator, and escrow officer that allowed us a seamless and as stress free process as possible.From there Mike and his wonderful team did an amazing job communicating throughout the process. When all was said and done, Mike was able to get us to closing only ONE DAY after the original date (we only had a 25 day closing) and saved us close to 27k!!!Mike and his amazing team are the reason we’re in our new home!

Working with Eagle Nest was an absolute pleasure! We had the unfortunate experience of trying to buy in a seller’s market. The choices were slim and moving quickly, but Mike really went out of his way to understand our budget, tastes, and needs. He picked up on our tastes very quickly and didn’t waste any time finding homes or pressing other agents for us. Moreover, my wife and I were first-time buyers, so a lot of the nuances to house-hunting (mortgages, insurance, etc.) were an overload, but Mike made the whole process seamless and very clear. He never shied away from explaining and answering our questions – he would often explain background information that really helped clarify the bigger picture around loans, taxes, or insurance. He’s been in the CA real estate world for a long time, so he has a wealth of knowledge surrounding trends, laws, taxes, or developments. He was always willing to work with any last-minute demands or requests, and he was quick to reach if we needed him. Mike was very trustworthy. When we contacted Mike it was through a referral from a friend who had an awesome experience. Without having any idea of what to expect we gave him a shot to help us buy our first house.My only regret is that no other realty company will come close to the bar Mike has set! Thorough and extremely professional; Mike helped usher us through an utterly complicated process including where to look, what we could actually afford, and strategies for making offers. He found us the perfect house on our first day out looking! Mike made the paperwork a breeze and was very patient explaining every document that needed a signature. He made himself available to answer our questions even beyond regular working hours. Mike is a true representation of someone who can be trusted and counted on. It’s not easy grasping housing concepts, especially in the current market. Mike not only helped me understand how to manage my expectations but managed to keep me calm and patient while he helped me find a home! On a very short timeline (and knowing very little about the area) we moved across the country to Oceanside, CA. Along the way, we felt a large sense of ease working with Mike as our experienced Realtor and Mortgage Broker. We used Mike Erickson and his team to buy our house 6yrs ago. Half the process was conducted while I was deployed to Afghanistan. We just used him again to sell the house. This time we we’re living in Japan then moved to Utah while selling the house in California. Mike and his team did an amazing job coordinating paint and repairs both while renters were in the house and immediately after which greatly reduce the time to list the house for sale. His creation and coordination of paperwork through the entire process greatly reduced the stress and I knew he had our best interests in mind. All of his recommendations were solid and timely. We just closed on the house three days early largely in part to Mike’s hard work and attention to detail. I would highly recommend him to any close friend without hesitation. If we ever find ourselves back in California I will only use Mike and his team.

We met Mike Erickson of Eagles Nest Realty and Mortgage about 10 years ago, quite by accident. We happened to walk into one of his open houses. We connected immediately. He seemed honest and knowledgeable. We eventually bought our home with him.Several years later when interest rates became extremely low, Mike called and told us about it. We refinanced with him in his mortgage broker capacity and no one has ever been able to beat that interest rate. We also bought a second home with him as a rental. We trust him implicitly.On a side note, when I have had real estate questions regarding my Mom’s estate, he was happy to help me even though he knew he would never profit from the Help he gave. He also helped a friend of mine who was suddenly widowed and had no clue how to manage her mortgage problems. He counseled her free of charge and helped her understand the direction she should go.Mike has integrity and a good heart. You can’t go wrong with that.

This was the 2nd time I had the privilege of working with Mike on the purchase of a new home. Unfortunately the deal fell through, but this had nothing to do with the great service and professionalism Mike provided through out the process. Do not let your agent suggest their own mortgage broker, they will want you to go with their recommendation probably with some kick backs to your agent. I went straight to Mike and as always he was able to give me the best rate and deal available. I used Mike 6 years ago to buy my house in Fallbrook, and when it came time to sell, he provided the same incredible service for the sale as he did the purchase. He always has excellent communication, is adept at handling unforeseen issues, and has a large network of repairmen/handymen to get the house ready for sale. I have known Mike Erickson of Eagle Nest Realty & Mortgage for more than 17 years; first professionally and now as a great friend. The later of which is quite a bonus. I have a financial advisory practice and was originally introduced to Mike by my clients. My appreciation for his skill, business sense, and integrity has continued to grow through the years. Not only have I closely observed many of his successful efforts in the sale, purchase, finance, and refinance of residential properties and seen the real and permanent good he has achieved on behalf of my clients, I have many times watched him exercise integrity in the moment of choice and push business away when it was not in the clients best interest. I have seen him recommend that a client use another loan product than his own when it was a better deal for the client and the client was ready to do business with him. I have seen him recommend clients reset their mortgages with their present lenders rather than refinance with him. I was personally the beneficiary of one of these decisions. I have seen him decline to do business with a client when they were not financially ready to take on a viable mortgage and he had no safe mortgage products for them. He would then forego the sale and the resultant income to him. In two instances these folks went ahead with another lender and became part of the great mortgage meltdown when they disregarded his advice (and mine as well). As a retired Marine Officer he understands and works extremely well with military clients and their oft times unique circumstances. Mike has a great deal of experience in the short sale and foreclosure market space of late and has literally rescued several of my clients who were in distressed properties and forced to sell by reason of mandatory relocation. His negotiation team is highly experienced, persistent, and successful. He always has time to consult with me and one of my clients when realty and mortgage expertise is called for. I have used Eagle Nest for over ten years. I first met Mike Erickson at an open house in Oceanside. I liked his straight forward approach to selling houses.We bought our house and a rental house by using Eagle Nest. We used Eagle Nest to acquire both of the mortgage loans. We were able to get the best interest rate by using Eagle Nest Mortgage Company. Mike takes care of his customers. A couple of years after buying both houses, Mike called to tell me we could get a lower interest rate if we re-financed.We did and have an extremely low interest rate on both houses and lowered the monthly payments on both houses. If you are buying a house, call Eagle Nest for both the house and the mortgage loan. You will be pleased.

Ive worked with Mike at Eagle Nest for close to 10 years, and in that time hes helped me buy a house, sell a house, and close a loan. Hes the best realtor and broker Ive ever worked with, and Ive worked with many. Even when I moved out of Southern CA, he helped me sell a property that I had left behind. It had been a rental property for several years, and was the worse for wear. But we sold it for way more than I thought was possible, thanks to Mikes attention to detail in readying the house for market. I have known Mike for 30 years and it’s not the loans he has secured for me that make me always return but the one he didn’t. I went to Mike for a second on the house and he was so honest he directed me to a Credit Union he knew I was a member of that was offering the best deal available. I got the loan with them and while Mike did not get that loan he got a customer for life. If nothing else I know his honesty and integrity are without question and recommend him without any reservations.

Our loan started at another institution and was met with an obstacle that appeared to be a dead end. So, I decided to try a broker and went through the web, looked at a couple, called one, they didn’t answer. Proceeded to call Mr. Erickson’s and he actually answered the phone. I felt good about this interaction already.Our family had experienced a series of huge crisis and he calmly explained and helped me understand the process and possibilities. I could tell he knew what he was doing because he explained it in a way I could understand. He was ALWAYS diligent, patient, professional and prompt. We had several people involved in our loan and he made them all feel important, needed and always answered repetitive questions.
