I feel lucky to have found DCAC. My family had struggled with finding support for my father in terms of evaluating his ability to drive following a medical emergency. Melanie was fantastic. She answered all of my father’s questions with patience, compassion, and professionalism. She went above and beyond my expectations, even going as far as securing a volunteer translator for my father. She was completely supportive and communicative every step of the way. Now that my father has completed and passed the assessment, I have so much more peace of mind. Driving is an important step towards my dad’s full return to independence, and knowing that he can do so safely for himself and for others means a lot to us.

Melanie was AMAZING. My 86yo mom had not been driving for a while and we wanted to make sure she was safe to return. Melanie and her program at the DCAC could not have been better. The assessment was comprehensive, thorough, and objective. Melanie was kind, professional, and very compassionate. The results were timely, specific, and detailed. Melanie was very available to discussing any questions or concerns as well as providing resources throughout the entire process. Melanie is a wealth of knowledge and has a lovely way of communicating with client and family alike. We looked many options and were very happy we went with DCAC. It was not cheap but definitely worth it. I would definitely recommend it.

This is such a valuable service. This driving assessment program helps families gauge a loved ones cognitive ability to drive safely. Melanie is compassionate and professional and provides a science based unbiased assessment of a person’s safe driving abilities. This takes the pressure off families to determine if their loved ones are still safe to drive and how to talk to them if they are not. I suggest anyone who is struggling with how to deal with a loved one that they are concerned may no longer be able to drive safely to contact Melanie at Driver Cognitive Assessment Center. If it is determined they should no longer be driving, she will provide them with multiple transportation resources in their area so they do not lose their independence.

Melanie is extremely compassionate to families who face this difficult period in life when a family members driving may be impaired. Melanie is highly professional, kind and patient and explains the process thoroughly to the individual and the family. Her detailed assessment and results provide the family with the information they need to make informed decisions. She provides the family with the support they need from the beginning through the end. I would highly recommend Driver Cognitive Assessment Center to anyone questioning the driving ability of their senior.

Melanie has been a calming, informative and helpful resource in assessing my mothers driving skills. She is extremely knowledgeable about on road safely and has given us peace of mind when it comes to my mothers abilities on the road. My mother has completed both of DCAC’s assessments, computer and behind the wheel. We are very happy and pleased with all of our intersections with Melanie.

Melanie Henry the owner of Driver Cognitive Assessment Center is kind, professional, patient and thoroughly explains her testing and the results. My husband first went to John Muir and the gentleman there was not only inaccurate in the history he took but he was abrupt, and his assessment skills were very poor. We highly recommend Driver Cognitive Center. Melanie is highly skilled and testing is state of the art!!!

Highly recommended and appreciate the service!Finding a resource to help evaluate my dads capability of driving, given his medical condition/age, was a blessing. I was able to have a professional and not family help conclude he is not safe to drive. Melanie is super empathetic and was very caring with my dad during the assessment. Thank you.

I give Melanie 5 stars because she is the best! She is very professional, very patient, and extremely knowledgable about what the rules of the road are and what makes a safe driver. She works with you in a thorough, comfortable atmosphere making sure you are learning or brushing up on your driving skills for whatever your individual needs are. You will come away a smarter, safer, more confident driver. I know I did!

Finding the Driver Cognitive Assessment Center in Pleasanton was a gift. We didnt know how to assess safety on the road for a friend with cognitive impairment. Melanie Henry is a real professional, we all felt comfortable there.
