My family and I have been going to a local dentist for the past 20 years, when he no longer accepts delta dental, my daughter Michelle cynamon recommended Dr Michael Drake. I find him caring, hes got such a warm and comforting demeanor and gentle touch. Going to the dentist may not always be pleasant, but he and his staff are great at putting you at ease and being quick and efficient. Highly recommended!!

Dr. Drake and his staff are amazing. My family has been with him since he took over the practice from Dr. Dobek several years ago. They are all very professional and do great work. They will also tell you when you don’t need to have work done, saving time, expense, and potential discomfort.

I was referred to the Drake’s dental office by my implant surgery last year. Dr. Drake has replaced one of my crowns and he is working on my two implanted crowns now. The office is very clean and everyone is very processional and nice.Dr. Drake very patiently and professionally answers all my questions. Sharon at the front desk is very efficient in processing my dental insurance claims. I am very happy with the service at this office.

Excellent doctor he is very knowledgeable and kind took the time to understand and not sell anything extra very gentle when looking in my mouth. That is important!! He really calmed me down and understood what was going on. Julie the receptionist was fantastic so friendly and kind and made sure I got in immediately which is tough but she did it because I was very worried. I could not recommend this place more. Will be coming back for everything regarding teeth always. Impressed.

I really appreciate that Dr. Drake goes over everything and informs you so you can make a more educated decision. I believe he is extremely honest and doesn’t try and do treatment if it isn’t needed. He is a honest doctor and I have seen a lot of his work and think he does wonderful veneers and crowns.

Love this office! So happy to have found a dentist who is calm and can explain everything in layman’s terms. The front desk staff is awesome and so is the back office staff. The dental hygienist was also very good.Friendly and caring environment. We all have a little anxiety (or a lot) going to the dentist, it’s wonderful to find a dental office that makes you feel relaxed and at ease.

I’ve been going to Drake Dental for a few years now and highly recommend Dr. Drake and his practice. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient yet thorough. You can tell they care about their patients and getting to know them. They will take the time to talk to you about recommendations or to answer your questions, but I’ve never felt pressured into doing anything. I trust their judgement and will continue to see them every 6 months (hopefully not more)!

Went in for the first time today & loved the experience! The office is lovely and peaceful, the employees were so kind, respectful, listened well, and we shared lovely conversation. My hygienist knew of my history with some traumatic dental experiences and was extra careful and checked in with me every step of the way. Easy in, easy out. Friendly and smiley team. I go here for all of my dental needs. On a previous visit, a wonderful dental assistant explained to me how to properly floss without injuring my gums. A great open-air entrance through giant rod iron gates and lovely mural greet you as you enter the premises before taking the stairs or elevator to the second floor.

I finally found a nice and trustworthy dentist! It’s been a rough year of trying to find a good dental office that’s responsive, reliable and friendly— this office hits all three. I have some anxiety when it comes to dental visits, but Monica, the dental hygienist was so nice and reassured me throughout the process. Dr. Drake was very nice as well. A great dentist is essential, extremely hard to find, and may take years to know if you’ve made the right choice. Dr. Drake was thoroughly vetted by our long time family dentist prior to taking over the practice at 1243 7th Street some years ago. I now commute 30 miles each way to see him, so what does that tell you?!? Doc Drake (DMD) is patient, personable, and explains all the options while maintaining laser focus on your long-term health and well being, because that’s how he rolls. Doc D is a winner.

First time at Dr. Drake’s office in Santa Monica. The office was super prompt and hygienic. Very friendly staff and my hygienist took her time not only with cleaning my teeth but also educating me on proper home dental care. Dr. Drake is really personable and has a great disposition. Due to genetics and poor habits I’ve been to a lot of dentists, and Dr. Drake & his entire team are the best. They are friendly, thorough, and upfront.The treatment Dr. Drake recommend was conservative, he explained everything in detail so I understood why he was doing what he was doing, and the prices quoted were quite a bit lower than my previous dentists.Melissa did a fantastic job with my cleaning, it was probably the longest and most detailed cleaning I’ve received in my life.Walked out feeling well taken care of and that the team had my best interests in mind at all times. This is a great option if you live in the area!

Hands down best dental practice and experience I have had. Everyone from the awesome front desk team who are incredibly accommodating, to the x-ray tech, dentist and hygienist were amazing. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I had an 8am appointment and was checked in and taken to a chair within minutes. I used to come here when the Dobeck’s were here and I have almost a nostalgic reason for coming to this office specifically. Dr. Drake is very knowledgeable and let me know what my options were for a mouth guard. I came to Drake Dental for a routine dental cleaning. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff and felt welcomed. I had the pleasure of Sharon as my hygienist who did a thorough cleaning. I have some areas that are more difficult to clean and she suggested using a proxabrush. She even gave me one to take home and try out.Dr. Drake is very friendly and easy to chat with. He explained some cosmetic options for the spaces between my teeth in a way that was easy to understand and fit with my particular concerns and needs. Overall, I received excellent care. Everyone I interacted with was genuine and personable. I will be coming back!Also, parking is easy and free!

Went to another dentist office in Santa Monica. They recommended 8000$ worth of treatment/surgeries. I came here, asked for Dr. Drakes opinion (before telling him what they told me), and then later told him about their recommendations. He told me nearly every single one of them were unnecessary and only 1 or 2 of them were nice to have procedures but could be done at any time. Additionally, the prices he quoted me for all these procedures were significantly lower than the other place. Super clean office, everybody is personable, nice views. Definitely going back.

Doctor Drake was extremely helpful when explaining inlay vs overlay cavities. He gave me the best advice, not based on his compensation and that’s why I chose him as my primary dentist. Sharon at the desk is very responsive and has made the transition much easier on my end, taken she knows pretty much every office procedure there is to know. The lobby area is very clean and nice, and you can’t beat the safety and easability of their Santa Monica location.

PRO TIP: If you want to become good friends with Dr. Drake and his staff take a page from my life book...avoid going to the dentist for a good DECADE.I found Drake Dental similar to how one might find a life partner on a dating app, I “swiped right” because his office was down the street from me. Suffice it to say, after my initial evaluation this relationship was going to last more than one date. I’ve been having to come in weekly sometimes as many as 2 to 3 times a week, and every time I leave my mouth is healthier and in a better place.In a funny way during this pandemic Drake Dental has turned into my “local bar.” And just like when you visit your local watering hole when you walk through the doors at Drake Dental you really do feel like a “regular.” Gabby runs the front office and has been my point person from the beginning. They are well organized and do their out of office communication via text and are quick to respond to any questions. I feel very safe when I visit as they limit It to one person in the lobby at a time with all employees wearing masks. They take my temperature and I pay in advance so when my time is up all i need to do is say “thank you” and I’m free to leave.I’ve had appointments with Melissa for some deep cleaning, if you can take a moment and pour a beer out for her because my mouth was a mess. My front teeth were stricken with wine stains (some good vintages not gonna lie) and despite all that Melissa has been fantastic at cleaning them and provides a friendly and comfortable environment while she does her work. It’s so nice not having to hide my teeth when I smile for pictures now.Dr. Drake is simply fantastic. He takes the time to talk you through the procedures needed, breaking down the xrays and taking pictures to show and explain in the simplest terms what is needed and the best treatment for it. When he works, Dr. Drake and his assistant Patty have great chemistry so its fast and efficient, and I havn’t had any lingering issues with any of my procedures. I consider myself lucky he is only having to do a couple crowns and a handful of cavities given how long I neglected my teeth.In conclusion, if you want a great dental experience where you are treated like a valued customer than Drake Dental is your place. I’m only sad that after I have my last appointment and my teeth are operating at their fullest potential that I’ll only be coming to visit every 6 months.

Super knowledgeable dentist. Super nice. I felt no fears having prongs and air floating in and out of my mouth! Yep. I came in for a “dental emergency” as a crown fell out on a Friday afternoon. Dr Drakes officer had Saturday hours! Thank goodness! The Dr explained everything clearly and I left feeling better than I had going in! I would definitely recommend and I don’t review doctors often. Really wonderful staff. Not only am I confident in their dental knowledge and care of my teeth, but they treat you like a real person. They work with you on billing, insurance and scheduling. They make it easy to handle those little teeth annoyances, aches and pains that can pop up outside of your regular check up schedule. Prior to the appointment I spoke with Sharon the receptionist and she was informative and answered all my question such as type of insurance they take, cost, etc. Once I confirmed my appointment Sharon sent me my paperwork ahead time which I thought was good that way once I got to the office I don’t have fill out any forms. The dentist was attentive, answered my questions, and let me know if I have any future question to get in contact with him or the receptionist. I enjoyed the visit.

On my honeymoon, a piece of my tooth broke, causing discomfort in my tongue when eating, speaking... I went to Dr. Drakes clinic, and a worker told me that filing my tooth would only cost $60, It was just the peak of the grindstone. The next day I went to the appointment, the Dr. spent 3 minutes with me doing the work, filing the peak of the tooth. When paying, it was my surprise, $200! And now when I return to my country I have to rebuild it entirely. My opinion is that because I am a foreigner, I have been scammed!!Not recommendable!!!!!
