Very cool spot that really does have a lot to offer other than spa treatment. The pools are great, the grounds are well appointed with sitting areas abound along with games to play. Centrally located with easy access to anything in town. Bikes are offered, we didn’t take advantage of them though. Looking forward to coming back.

Our stay overall was fantastic. Updated rooms, fantastic pools to relax in, and a good on sight restaurant. We did a spa day with excellent massages and mud bath experience.Rooms: clean and modern. The carpet was outdated, but everything else looked new. There was a mini fridge and freezer. The bathroom had great towels, robes, and soaps/shampoos/lotion. Beds were comfortable.Spa: the pools were clean and great to relax in. Massage and mud baths were relaxing. There is also a large hot tub in a covered area with places to sit in the shade.Restaurant: the food was very tasty and there was good selection. The mixed drinks are somewhat limited and very juice heavy.The location is great too. You can easily walk to the grocery store, coffee, restaurants and other shopping.Only one downside was some noisy guests. If it is late at night, please keep it down! The whole hotel doesn’t need to hear your discussion.

Dr. Wilkinson’s Hotel exceeded all expectations during our stay for a wellness event hosted by Self Care Sundays. The boutique hotel offered an unforgettable experience, with morning and evening yoga classes adding a serene touch. The DJ in the restaurant area added to the vibrant atmosphere. Speaking of the restaurant, it delivered top-notch dishes, including the breakfast burrito, salads, and burgers. The rooms were exceptionally cozy, equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the plush robes were a luxurious touch. The mineral pools were a highlight, offering rejuvenation and relaxation. The staff, including Debbie and José, were incredibly accommodating and personable, enhancing our stay even more. Plus, being pet-friendly made our little guys experience just as enjoyable. Situated perfectly on the town strip, we easily explored nearby attractions like the farmers market. Cant wait for our next visit to Dr. Wilkinson’s Hotel.

I was disappointed with the experience at the spa partially because of the price associated with the actual facility. The attendants were great but the facility seemed dirty and didn’t feel like a luxurious experience. My robe was tethered and looked old and used. My slippers did too. The plastic curtains in the mineral bath area either have mud or mold on them which isn’t sanitary or appealing to look at. Once we were done with our spa experience we had to wait 15 minutes in the bathroom/locker room. This was not comfortable or relaxing and I felt like I was in a gym. Once we moved on to the massage, the fire alarm went off 20 minutes into the 60 minutes massage and the masseuse told us this was a normal occurrence. This really interrupted our experience and made us tense when we were supposed to be relaxing. The massage was great but the overall facility ruined the experience.I’ve been to spas that are a third of the price that felt more relaxing and pleasant. This was supposed to be a birthday gift so I was bummed rhat it didn’t feel like a top tier spa experience.The hotel feels like they put a band aid on a trailer park hotel. It didn’t feel luxurious at all. The chairs had been spray painted years prior and were starting to chip. The hot tub water looked green. I broke out in hives after wading in the hot tub. I have pictures of my legs. This made me question the cleanliness the hotel. I wouldn’t come back or recommend people to try either the spa or hotel. Not worth your time or money.

My husband and I enjoyed our 2 nights very much. Rooms are small but redone and nice. Pools are great. Food and drink on property were tasty and fairly priced. We did massage and mud bath which were both very enjoyable.My only complaint is after our relaxing spa experience, we were directly asked by the person checking us out if will you be tipping our recommended 25%?. We felt pressured and that is an insane amount! We stuttered out yes but walked out feeling totally uncomfortable. My plan was to venture back once a month because I really loved the massage therapist. However, that recommended tip works out to basically a dollar a minute. I am a service person and I do 250 dollar services that take a couple of hours. No one tips 25%. And I would never say this to my clients. My plan was to tip massage therapists 40 each and mud bath attendant 60. I am guessing they must pool tips? I dont know. It just left a very sour taste in our mouths and my plan of getting a membership and doing a monthly deal is no longer. Tipping culture is totally out of control and I am tired of being made to feel embarrassed/cheap and not being able to decide on my own what I feel is appropriate.

Positive--Jose at the front desk represents the hotel extremely well. He was hospitable and friendly.-The property is clean.Negatives-We were charged north of $1250 dollars for our 2 day stay. For the price point, I would suggest spending your money at a nicer property.-Staff were overly noisy while outfitting a neighboring room.-The room itself was underwhelming and provided the bare minimum amenities.-I waited for service at the bar for 8-10 minutes while the staff discussed their personal lives and I left after being ignored.-Overall disappointing experience for the price paid. Will not return.

Came here for the natural hot springs pool, stayed for the food and family friendly atmosphere that didnt include children running amok. They did a great job of setting aside a quiet space for adults only. We had a minor hiccup in our stay that was handled quickly and that made our stay all the better.Theres a great grocery store right across the street so if you want something that isnt available from the kitchen, its right there for you to take advantage of. The main street is like any cute resort town with lots of art galleries and restaurant/taverns in case youre looking for somewhere else to hang out.Well definitely be coming back.

My recent visit to Dr. Wilkinsons Spa left me utterly disappointed and vowing never to return. As someone who appreciates the serenity and professionalism of spa treatments, I can confidently say that this establishment falls far short of expectations.Firstly, the coed lockers were a major turn-off. Privacy is paramount in a spa setting.The treatment itself was nothing short of chaotic and unprofessional. Upon entering the treatment room, I was greeted by a technician who seemed more interested in hurrying me through the process than providing a genuinely relaxing experience.As for the treatments themselves, they were far from enjoyable. I am not sure how they estimate the treatment time for the Mudslinger Package as 60 minutes considering the mud bath is 15 mins, the mineral bath is 15 mins, and it includes a 3 minute sit in a steam room. The facial mask listed on the package is just given to you to apply while you sit in the mineral bath. The blanket wrap is a plain sheet draped over you for 5 minutes after the treatments. The noise level was also unacceptable, making it difficult to relax and unwind. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the facilities left much to be desired, raising serious doubts about the hygiene standards upheld by the spa.After enduring the rushed and lackluster treatments, I was dismayed to find that the changing room lacked even the most basic amenities one would expect from a spa. No hair dryer, no extra towels, no body sprays and no lotions. It was a stark reminder that I had been duped into a tourist trap masquerading as a legitimate spa.This place is simply not worth your time or money.

This is the OG hot springs resort in Calistoga, conveniently located in the middle of everything. My favorite part is the indoor pool sized hot pool with jets. Note that its adults only and nowhere near the family friendly pools, which is great unless you didnt bring a babysitter. :)Favorite moment was poolside food and beverage service. Best fries ever, and overall excellent restaurant. Everything has been updated and modernized while still retaining its old school motel feel.Standard rooms are a bit small and occasionally that old school motel feel is not a positive, but overall a wonderful experience. Shout out to the staff who went out of their way to help us rectify a minor problem.

I get a Marriott hotel certificate once and a year and have used it here for the past two years, both in winter. Both times have been amazingly awesome for me. I come here to get away and to use the mineral pools.The restaurant on site is really good for beer and food. I have had many beers and a breakfast burrito and enjoyed all of them. Lots of people seem to like the piess.I traveled heavily for work staying in lots of hotels and resorts for 15 years and this so far is probably my favorite spot to just relax and get away.

High prices, low value. We much prefer our experience at a nearby competitor and its a bit less. The layout is very stressful. The paces are all joined, even the locker rooms. In order to get to the heated pool you have to go through the mud room, then ring a doorbell, that doesnt work, to get back in. We had to walk around the entire building, in front of the main road to get back in, in our robes soaking wet in the rain. You have a, very sweet, attendant helping you move through the various spaces the entire time due to the confusing layout of the spaces. Drawback, youre never alone and able to relax. I will not be going back.

Not the greatest impression* The mud baths and mineral baths are only separated by curtains with an aisle in between, so you smell the rotten egg supper the whole time. You’ll also hear the tub next to you being cleaned out after someone’s treatment so it’s not quite as relaxing* Each bath add-on is a scoop of epsom salts for $20.* The blanket wrap area felt like I was in a stall at the gym glammed up with wooden panels. You lay there in a sheet* The mineral bath in the Spa Garden was green* For the price point I would not return

I love your place !here is so fantastic. I am expecting my baby and wanna enjoy trip before birth so I and my husband choose here for relaxing and refreshing time and we are so satisfied. Here are three pools filled with mineral water and I enjoyed swimming at daytime in large pool and leg-bath at night in hot pool. One staff saw me and gave professional advice for spa during pregnancy and it was really helpful and sweet. I want to be here again with my family and the local mart and many restaurants are near so we can reach by walk. 🩷

LOVE this place! The spa staff is wonderful, kind and accommodating. My husband and I had 3 of the absolute best massages We have ever had .The outdoor restaurant on site is delicious and great for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Very nice to grab a quick bite after a long day of travel and slip into one of the 3 mineral pools . The mud baths are a great experience of weightlessness and healing . Can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I returned after staying here for three nights. The exhaust fan wasn’t working from day one for which we reported. It is noisy from the trucks driving down the main street so I didn’t sleep well. Housekeeping was great. We didn’t use their restaurant because it poured our entire stay. The rate fee was removed because of the fan.Response to resort as of 12/21/33: My husband turned the fan on during his morning shower and it did nothing. The fan didn’t work as the bathroom was loaded with steam and windows were fogged over. We informed the gentleman at the front desk and heard no more about it.

It was pretty good. The rooms looked recently updated, pools are clean. Tiny parking lot. The food was good. We got pizza and tacos. The pizza was a thin crust but cooked in a brick oven which was cool, and the tacos were good. Nothing to rave about. Kind of wish the adult pool was a bit hotter, but other than that it was pretty basic. Best thing was the drive there seeing the beauty of Napa.

We stayed here for two nights over Thanksgiving. The rooms are nicely appointed but the walls are paper thin. You will hear anyone talking as they walk by your room outside. The facility is good. The staff is excellent.The location is fantastic. You can walk to all of downtown. Lots of restaurants and shops. Convenient grocery store across the street.They have four EV 48-amp chargers on site and while we were there people we good about moving their cars after charging.Like most places in Napa, you get taxed through the nose and dont forget about that annoying resort fee of $30.00 :-(

Came here to get some R&R but unfortunately that did not happen since I was not able to sleep all night even with ear plugs in due to the constant loud clonking metal noise from the street. I had tried to switch rooms at check in but the lady was not very helpful. Also, platinum status is not recognized at this hotel.Ted from the front desk & Sean from facilities were great & really took care of me. They did turn the experience around the second day even though I was sleep deprived. If it weren’t for the noisy room & the unhelpful check-in experience, I would give it 4*. The mineral pools were great, really wished I had a better experience.

My husband and I stayed at Dr. Wilkinson’s for two nights and overall really enjoyed it. The hotel itself is so cute. Spa was great (we did The Works and the staff was so awesome). House of Better was also good - yummy food and a fun atmosphere with games and a DJ.A few things that would have made our stay a 5 instead of a 4 - while the rooms and hotel were very cute, you can hear everything when inside the hotel room. We could hear the people walking above us and the noises outside. Not as relaxing as we wanted it to be. Also, while I recognize that this hotel is not adults only, there were sooo many kids at the pools who were splashing guests and making so much noises. Could be nice to do adults only pool hours or something like this. I know some other Calistoga hotels do this so could be nice to consider. Also, while check in was great (I think it was a woman named Nicole, and Jose was very helpful when I had questions ahead of arriving), our check out was not so great. An older woman checked us out and when I had questions about our bill, she looked at me like I was wasting her time and she started talking to the person behind me when I was mid-sentence. Seemed like she no longer cared about our experience since we were leaving.Overall though, like I said, we really did like the hotel and especially our spa experience. Would recommend this hotel and just keep these things in mind when booking.

Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The A/C in our room wasn’t working during a heat wave, they quickly gave us a new room. The spa was incredible, did the mud bath and mineral bath. Best Swedish massage I have ever had. And breakfast was delicious. Avocado toast was fire. The wellness weekend was full of free activities.

Perfect location and a very short walk to downtown Calistoga. The hotel was amazing, had a great shower and bathroom, bed was super large, and the property has a bunch of amenities. Hot springs were amazing! Pillows on the bed just didn’t do it for us though. I would definitely stay here again.

Update:I got a call from the hotel that they checked the room and are fixing the vents. It was nice of them to follow up and address the issue. It looks like customers comfort and satisfaction is their top priority.Previous review:We stayed for a night over the memorial day weekend. The rooms are nicely renovated, the staff was friendly and helpful and the kids had a blast in the warm pool. The downside of our stay was the strong smell of mold coming through the bathroom vents. It was unpleasant and uncomfortable for a family member that is allergic to mold.

Noise and SleepI am a light sleeper who cant sleep through noise. In advance, I asked the staff for a room thats located in a quiet area (away from party groups, ice machine, etc), and they were accommodating. Prior to going to bed, I could hear noise through the walls; people nearby were talking, people walking above us, and music. So I used earplugs and placed my portable loud air purifier near the window/door to block out noise. I did in fact sleep well that night.FoodI was pleased with the food selection, and I love that they had plenty of green chili recipes. The quality of our meals at this price point was excellent. The only downside was in the morning of our departure, staff said the kitchen was closed and they only could offer us cold slices of quiche. The quiche tasted fine, but it was cold; I would have liked to have tried their warm southwestern breakfast options.Pools and SpaI was happy that they had two pools, one warm and one cool. I enjoyed using the adults only spa. I felt super relaxed before bed.The Grounds and LocationThe grounds were attractive, and the resort is located within walking distance to an ice cream shop, grocery store, and restaurants.StaffThey were all nice and helpful.I will be returning to this resort in the late fall.

If you are expecting a well managed place for your relax and recharging, its better to look for other quiet place where is capable to keep their quality for quiet and peace. Last night was super noisy by their quests and the manager was not able to manage that since 1am through the night. I shouldve called the police to handle it and should ask for the full refund of the room. Never come back and keep spray this review among all of the social media.

I can only speak for the spa as I’ve not yet stayed at the resort. Though the grounds are lovely and the food is yummy. The spa is very intimate and lovely. The staff is amazing along with the services. So clean and perfectly decorated. I enjoyed the updated sitting area outside with the indoor/outdoor 104 degree mineral pool between services. I really had a relaxing stay here. Pools sauna and did the mud bath (you really need to try this at least one time). The staff was friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the calming of this place. The sangria from the funny bartenders was awesome and the snacks we ordered were great. Sorry no pictures on this one I kept it in my hotel room.

Came here for a girls weekend, and loved the experience!Its centrally located in the heart of Calistoga, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, coffee, etc.. They also have bikes for rent, which you can take out for longer distances.The rooms are clean, with fun details (like a mini essential oil diffuser, bunkbeds and cute art) however, the walls are a little thin so bring your earplugs for a good nights sleep.We booked a mud bath experience during our stay and loved it! The mud bath itself was unique, and then the kind staff took us through 3 more spa treatments after, which included a bath, steam room and relaxation phase. Ive never been so relaxed in my life.Additionally, there are 3 geothermal mineral pools onsite, which we spent a lot of time in relaxing!Overall, it was a lovely experience staying here.

We arrived early for our massage appointments and had a great time exploring the surrounding area with large sized outdoor games (Jenga, Cornhole, Chess to name a few) and the hammock. We were prepared to use the pool, which was complimentary with our massage appointments but we were thoroughly distracted.We checked in on time and someone guided us to the changing rooms and locker area. While the space is small, they did a great job maximizing on how to use the space effectively. Its warm and casual.Leah was my massage therapist and she was professional and experienced. Her movements flowed well and sometimes, I would be surprised if it was her hand or the hot stone, in a good way! The pressure was the right amount of firmness for me and my shoulder and neck areas felt lighter. Its amazing when Ive been feeling the discomfort on a regular basis and after the massage, the absence of it is just wonderful.Highly recommend!

Spent one night here on the Thursday before Christmas in December. While the outside was quite chilly, this hotel stay made it warm and enjoyable with a new modern take on a classic motel experience.Starting with check-in and parking, parking was straightforward although there only 1-2 spots for non-electric vehicles left in the whole parking lot during check-in time. Many open spots were for L2 electric car charging of which there were plenty from Tesla connectors to J1772 connectors. Check-in was smooth and efficient although our Marriott Titanium status was not acknowledged until we specifically asked if there were any Titanium benefits. The front desk then stated there would be a welcome amenity that would be delivered at a later time. No room upgrade was given and we were given rooms in the same category that we had booked.The rooms itself being renovated less than 2 years ago fit with all the most modern furnishings but kept the retro look and feel with the iconic Galanz Refrigerator and SMEG tea kettle. The king room was quite spacious, they include a Google Home device although capabilities are quite limited, wish it was able to control the lights in the room. The bathroom is extremely spacious and luxurious although it didnt have a tub but the standing shower and hardwood floors were nice.The pools and hot-tub are the main property amenity highlights with a large lukewarm lap pool, a slightly smaller warm pool, and an even smaller hot hot tub which can seat about 8-10 people comfortably. The hot hot tub was my favorite. Temperatures were very warm and it was quite comfortable. The lap pool was warm enough as well to be comfortable swimming laps which we did for a little bit of time. The slightly smaller warm pool didnt get much use since it wasnt that hot to be comfortable relaxing and it was too small to be able to swim laps. Only ended up using this when the main hot hot tub was out of service.After asking the front desk later in the stay since we had not had anything delivered to the room for a welcome amenity, we were given the choice to select 1 bottle of wine per room booked which was a fantastic gesture. We didnt drink alcohol so we swapped the bottle of wine for 2 snacks from the gift shop per bottle which is a nice equivalent welcome amenity.I would also pass on the food from the on-property restaurant House of Better. It wasnt bad but it wasnt super amazing either. Only useful if you need a quick meal. Only exception might be the pie slice which was rated as the best in town and is quite delicious. Many restaurants within walking distance at the same price delivered much more of a Wow factor at the same price.Overall pricing is quite high but taking a look at the cheapest properties for Calistoga it wasnt much cheaper. While its not a tremendous value, the property amenities, quality of the recently renovated rooms, affiliation with Marriott and the ability to earn points and status credit meant this was still a good stay for the price and would recommend others to stay and will revisit when given the chance.

I really cannot say enough good things about Dr. Wilkinsons. We came here for a mini honeymoon right after our wedding in the Bay Area, and enjoyed every minute of our stay. I absolutely loved the ambiance of the site, the comfortable shaded poolside, the giant, luxurious spring water hot tub, and the extremely comfortable room. This hotel offers several areas to lounge and relax outdoors, which we love - as well as a restaurant that serves delicious Cali-Mex inspired food. I thought the hotel was a great value, with excellent location, rentable bikes, and special details - some of my favorite details were:- Spring water refilling stations and complimentary reusable water bottles- Pink Parachute bathrobes to use for your stay- An essential oil diffuser in our room, with one complimentary oil- Beautifully designed poolside, graphics and signage!- Ample parking- A full list of non-alcoholic beverages on the bar menu- Relaxing music playing in common areas- Malin Goetz soap and hair products in the roomsThe staff were also extremely nice, and friendly.Suffice to say, wed love to return!

Had A Spa day with my family. Great customer service. Massage rooms were comfortable and relaxing. Changing, shower and locker rooms were clean and neatly organized. The outside area was wonderful with a big heated hot tub-like pool and relaxing sitting area with comfy chairs.

The renovations that have been done here are incredible. The property is gorgeous and feels incredibly tranquil and relaxing. The close proximity to town was amazing for wandering (if you feel like leaving!) We loved Chef Trevors cuisine at Green Chile Kitchen in SF and were so excited to eat at House of Better. It did not disappoint - so good!! I could have eaten my weight in the breakfast burrito (get it with Christmas sauce!!) From check in to check out, we never left the premises. There was no reason to leave. Whether teaching our daughters how to play chess with the “Harry Potter chess set,” lounging by the pool, enjoying services at the spa, or having a bite to eat, we never felt the need to head into Calistoga for anything. And that’s saying something because Calistoga is a super cute town.Every staff member we encountered in the doctor’s office was all smiles and super friendly. A big shout out goes to the ladies running the House of Better. While we never had any issues, we witnessed how they handled other issues that came up for other guest. They were so flexible and chill about it all. It was clear their goal was to create the least amount of friction for the guests, all the while keeping the line moving and orders coming out quickly.

This is a great hotel, like walking back into the 50s when it comes to the exterior facade, everything else has been updated to the contemporary. Dr Wilkinsons is located within downtown Calistoga. A charming small town that can be walked end to end in less than 20 minutes if youre not stopping in for a wine tasting, perusing the shops, or catching an outdoor movie or music at the Moonshine. Back to the hotel there are two pools heated at different temperatures and giant hot tub set in a relaxing oasis. There is food/drinks onsite as well as a multiple water fountains littered across the campus with delicious filtered water (check-out the magical water as described by the staff in the lobby). If you want to sit and read on the grounds, there are Adirondacks, hammocks, chaise lounge chairs, and other styles I cannot think of to suit your fancy. If you want to borrow a bicycle to explore more of what Calistoga has to offer you can at no extra cost. I didnt mention the spa services, which sounded great, but chose to focus on all the great wineries in the area. Checkout the Ride the Vine bus if youre wanting to explore the wineries in the area for low cost solution. So many great things to say about Dr Wilkinsons and Calistoga, just go check it out yourself.

Mud bath was excellent but I dont love a co-ed locker room. I like to take my time getting ready to go back out in the world after a treatment and that really isnt possible. Also, the final relaxation room is also the waiting room. Youre wrapped up and trying to relax behind a little curtain that separates u from people waiting for (and talking) their treatment.

Loved the experience. One thing I didnt care to much for about the day pass. It cost $150 for 2 adults which includes 2 water but no robes. If the room guests get robes how hard is it to give robes to day pass at a spa? Plus we had to go back and ask for our water as it wasnt given to us at check in. Another down side is you must change in the one person bathroom at the check in counter. There should be a few stalls for changing by the pool. My husband loved his meal but my Chili burrito was really bad and I dont know how you can mess up a burrito the burrito was cold to top it off and if that is how it originally comes I would advise announcing that on the menu.

This is an old resort which has been remodeled. mostly its nice. the food was reasonably good. the pools were also good.unfortunately the electric vehicle chargers worked for a bit and then broke. multiple front desk personnel said maintenance will fix it...but that never happened. thankfully we had enough charge and didnt end up stranded. be careful if you are relying on these EV chargers to work in order for you to get home.frankly, for the high price here, you can get better accomodations elsewhere.

We loved our first stay at Dr. Wilkinsons and hope to return for a longer stay later this year. Its a pet/kid-friendly resort with cute, vintage themed decor (think mid 1950s to early 1960s). The service is excellent, the staff is very friendly, and the room was spotless. Everything was very comfortable. We also got deep tissue massages at the spa which we thoroughly enjoyed.The location is great as well, as its only a short walk from many different eateries, a small grocery store, and local wineries.We highly recommend Dr. Wilkinsons.

This place is fabulous. We stayed in Art’s cottage which included a Peloton bike. I was worried about the bike noise while my partner was sleeping but it was in another small room that included a desk and tv. Only thing missing was a yoga mat. There are three pools to choose from in varying temperatures. Pools are open 9am-10pm. The restaurant opens at 8 am. There are hammocks and two fire pits. The street noise can be a bit loud, but overall very luxurious.

This is a short drive from the San Francisco Bay area and its equipped with a delicious food stand where you can get coffee, wine, snacks, meals, and generally have an excellent time. They have a swing for adults, and a beautiful little area to sit with your friends. The spa itself is pretty amazing. First you go relax in a mud bath and then you go into a series of different rooms, including a soak in a tub and a sauna. After that they wrap you up with a blanket and you get cold cucumbers on your eyes. I dont know if Im the only person that tried to eat the cucumbers but that happened.

Its such a cute place in Calistoga! Very zen and relaxing once you step on the property. The amenities are great, they have diffusers in every room and you get a sample oil upon check-in. They use doTERRA oil, fyi. The shampoo and hand soap are all Malin+Goetz, which smell heavenly. The rooms are nice size and nicely designed. They allow dogs for a fee, but cannot be unattended ever. The food onsite was great - fries, breakfast burrito, oh the bacon! Massage appointments go fast, so book early. Pool is small but nice with plenty of chaise around. Theres a hot tub in the spa area as well. Overall a nice zen spa resort for the whole family.The only problem I had during my stay was that I thought the bedsheet/pillowcase smelled. It smelled a bit moldy? Or when clothes are not dried enough? At first I thought it might be the AC, but then I turned it off and opened the window. Smell still there. I put the diffuser right next to my head and sometimes it took the edge off. But if I roll the other way then I smell the moldiness again. Im sure its not mold, but just something that bothered me. The rest of my group in other rooms had no complaints though.

I preface this with the fact that they weren’t done with their spa/dining/and other renovations, so we had to outsource those things elsewhere. (The front desk staff recommended terrific alternatives, like massages at Golden Haven nearby.) We stayed in the middle of the week in a quiet room that had clearly had an Ace Hotel-like facelift, complete with vintage-styled fridge, electric kettle, and chic lamps and patio furniture. The beds were comfy, the room was nice and large for two of us, and the shower was luxurious. We nearly had the hot springs to ourselves and when we didn’t it was easy to socially distance from other guests. The pour over coffee was good, but the Vietnamese-style condensed milk creamer meant a welcome visit to Calmart for a healthier swap. (The wonderful thing about this location was being able to walk to most meals, wine tastings, and other local fun.) The staff was helpful while planning my first real “vacation” and were attentive and thoughtful during check in and check out—the ability to text them was helpful! Overall, we did wish we came a few days later to take advantage of the new amenities like the restaurant and famous mud baths, but if the prices remain manageable, I’d love to stay here again.

The bed and linens were comfortable. We decided to bring our French bulldog with us and the pet fee was reasonable. I hosted an executive retreat at Dr. Wilkinsons in late July (on three weeks notice). My team said it was the most relaxing/productive off-site that theyve had in six years of working together.My CEO has one request for these meetings, a room with windows. Wow, our stay at Dr. Wilkinson far exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend anyone, especially those BIPOC identifying, visiting Calistoga to stay and/or visit the Doc.I brought my mom, who doesnt speak English, here for our first ever girls trip and I wanted her to experience the healing that can come from natural hot spring water. To be honest, I was a bit nervous about the trip given were Chinese and my mom doesnt speak English and uppity Western establishments have treated us differently than White guests in the past.Im so glad my concerns were completely unfounded at Dr. Wilkinsons. The staff were so welcoming, kind, and generous to all their guests and really went the extra mile to communicate and connect with my mom. There was a lot of patience and hand gesturing and so beautiful for me to witness those kind attempts to make my mom feel welcomed. It made me so happy that my mom felt very comfortable at Dr.Wilkinsons and she was so excited enjoying the natural hot spring waters that she would giddily share how excited she was in her limited English with the staff and fellow guests who asked her about her day.Ive stayed at other places in Calistoga and this is my first time at Dr. Wilksons and I cant imagine staying elsewhere. The welcoming, intimate, and fun atmosphere is just unmatched. I love how you can relax in the pools, chill by the firepit, and enjoy a beer during a game of cornhole all in the same place. First off, it was the cheapest place I could find that was in close proximity to the vineyard we visited, so we didnt have to worry about traveling a far distance. Our room was absolutely massive, and perfect for our stay. The pools were fantastic and heated, and the indoor pool/hot tub was a great place to relax. The resort is also conveniently located right across the street from a grocery store in case we needed snacks. Some delights, some misses. From start to finish the service was unremarkable, except for the wonderful gentleman who cares for the property and the pool.Prices are far to high for what you get. What you get for a spa cottage, is a very small room with a very nice bathtub. The door to the bathroom is sliding and bounces, and there is no separate closing door to the toilet. This is not a mindful decision for guests.The walls are thin and there is no accountability for guests who are at the pool past closing. The pools themselves are quite nice and relaxing. No fee for cabanas and the bar is just outside. They have wine and beer only.My main disappointment is with the spa. From the time I booked my room I tried for nearly 2 months to book the mud treatments listed in their spa menu. I understand the location has been renovated and likely so have internal infrastructures, but my calls went to a personal google voicemail box, which was beyond strange. I was finally put on a waitlist for mud baths, got a call they were available, booked our appointments, only to receive a call 1 week before our arrival that the baths were broken again. Please consider removing the treatments from your menu until you are certain they work. Please consider making further concessions to your guests. A $30 resort fee is a little steep when half the motel is down and the room is so costly.My 3 stars are for the lovely gentlemen doing maintenance, the very comfortable bed, the Malin & Goetz products, and other goodies in the bathroom. Very unprofessional spa experience, Id never go back.Im a big spa person and Ive been to Calistoga many times but this time through my regular place wasnt fully open yet. Reviews seemed decent and was supposed to be remodeled recently so we gave it a try. We booked deep tissue massages and were told wed have access to mineral pools for a soak after, and maybe mid baths would be open by then. Neither were available. We showed up a half hour before the reservation for the mineral pools but they wouldnt let us in until 10 minutes prior. The lockers are coed (my first red flag) so I was brought to a changing room, given a robe, no sandals. No one took my health history or discussed my preferences (second red flag).Shortly after I was brought into the treatment room where the technician told me that I needed a relaxing experience and asked me to disrobe while he held a sheet up (third red flag). The treatment could be equated to a soft brushing with a feather. I told him he could increase the pressure but it didnt change his technique one bit. The massage was with oil and I wasnt offered an alternative using lotion, as most places do. So I asked to shower after, and they do have individual showers. But afterwards you need to go to changing room, theres no amenities, and they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for a hair dryer. When I left the front desk asked me how the treatment was, I told them how disappointed I was, and they offered nothing except a sorry to hear that .I feel like I was duped into a tourist trap and not a real spa.

I came here on a company group retreat last year and they charged the corporate card for the group and then double charged the entire group on our individual credit cards (which they took when we checked in for incidentals). We have all been calling, emailing, and trying to sort this out with them and they have ignored messages and failed to call back, claiming theyre looking into it. Theyve collected double for a large group.Well... its been 4 months. I am trying to sort this out with my credit card company and report them to better business bureau and other consumer protection agencies. I have never done this before, but after four months of ignoring us, my colleagues and I are getting frustrated by the amount of time wasted and we just want our money back.I would say this is a problem with their events team and their back office folks. When we arrived they were very patient with us (it was our first time) and gave us cool background info on the treatments. I loved that it stayed traditional, almost identical to the photos from the 1960s, yet still clean. Very disappointed with our weekend getaway. The hotel room was old dark and very cold. The heater was so loud we had to turn it off just to sleep and freeze. The shower changed from hot to cold and had bad water pressure. The mineral bath was not as advertised, the hot blanket wrap was not hot and a sheet not a blanket on a thin padded hard board. The only positive was the massage I received was really good. My partner had a not so good massage. Stairs are cracking and unstable. The mineral hot springs smelled like chlorine not mineral. I will not be going back to Calistoga.

We were changing back after the sessions, and they opened the sliding doors for the next customers to come in without even bothering to knock or check to see if we were still in there half naked. Not a bad little spot in Calistoga. We had a few electrical outlets not work in the bathroom. The location is great as you can walk or jog over to Silverado trail and enjoy the winery and mountain view. The main drag in Calistoga is right out the front door to grab food, drinks, coffee. The only spot I found that brewed coffee early which opened up at 630am was Calistoga roasters about 200 feet from the hotel. Parking is a bit tight. All in all not bad, but not great. We had very little to no interaction with staff once we were checked in...not sure if they were short staffed, but our room never got cleaned during our 4 night stay.

Cockroaches. This motel is old and was formerly one the best deals in the Napa area charging around $125 per night. I stayed in March right before coronavirus hit and we found cockroaches in our bathroom both mornings. Upon leaving this review the hotel asked me to contact them to see if they could rectify the situation. They mentioned they had been through a remodel, so I jumped on their website to see about booking another stay at the motel since they seemed willing to discuss and rectify the cockroach issue. To my GREAT surprise, the motel rooms are now priced at OVER $400 PER NIGHT. Are kidding me? I dont care how much paint and furniture you buy, or how fancy the lobby is... Unless you knocked down the motel and the pools and rebuilt these structures, this place is old and incredibly outdated. I dont need to see the remodel to know that these rooms are not worth $400 per night. Its like putting lipstick on a pig and calling it a lady. It appears this property has been purchased by new owners, who slapped some new paint, recessed lighting and some new IKEA furniture on this old motel and now want to charge you an exorbitant amount of money for the exact same services you could formerly get for around $100 a night. Theyve ruined it! For that price stay somewhere else.

TRAVELER BEWARE:I made a reservation for a mother/daughter getaway at this resort on Wednesday, March 17th for the upcoming weekend and received 3 confirmations from them, the final one being sent 2 days later on Friday, March 19th, the day of arrival. Here is what all 3 confirmations said:“After settling in your beautifully designed guest room, dont forget to visit Docs Office where you will find our wellness orientated retail selection. Afterwards, take a moment to relax, and join us in the Backyard for laughter and lawn games, take a seat at the brand-new House of Better restaurant, or take a dip in our mineral pools—and dont forget to treat yourself to our world-renowned spa.”During check-in that afternoon, the general manager, Jose, who was about to charge my credit card that now included a resort fee of $30 per night, said NONE of their 3 main amenities, ones that actually make them a resort, were open! Not the restaurant, not the spa, and not the mineral pools. He said he could book me a room at their “sister property,” the Calistoga Motor Lodge, an inferior property with an inferior room and location, a classic BAIT AND SWITCH. What could we do? We were exhausted from the week and our travel to get there, on top of it being 4:30 on Friday afternoon! Such stress and frustration and disappointment to start off our relaxing “wellness” getaway, and just so shady and selfish on their part. I felt incredibly disrespected and deceived. And not only was no compensation whatsoever was offered, instead we were OVERCHARGED. Originally supposed to be $848 (including tax) at Dr. Wilkerson’s, which then turned into $909 upon check-in at both properties, to a final charge of $926!!Had this been a customer-friendly resort with corresponding management, they would have contacted me on Wednesday after the reservation was made, or Thursday, or even Friday morning, to say, “Hey, not sure what’s bringing you into town, but just so you know in advance with no last-minute surprises, all 3 of our main attractions are still under construction and will not be available, just in case you’d like to book somewhere else.” That would have been proactive and professional. Better yet, they could stop renting rooms altogether until their renovation is complete. I realize the travel and leisure industry has been especially hard hit by the pandemic, but sacrificing your long-term reputation and repeat customers for short-term gain is not the wise way to recovery.So, fellow traveler BEWARE. If you’re looking to stay in Calistoga, I highly encourage you to stay somewhere else. Spend your hard-earned money somewhere that appreciates your business with proactive, professional, and pro-customer service. If you do choose to try this place out, do not trust their web site and confirmations. Call in advance to make sure the amenities you want are available, and that your “resort” is not an active construction zone complete with tarps and chain link fences, with invoices that include egregious, empty resort fees for nonexistent amenities, or worse, that you get sent somewhere else entirely different that you never would have chosen to begin with.

I found this spa, the service, and staff and overall experience to be very mediocre compared to one other spa I have visited in Callistoga. The mud was cut with Peat Moss (when I asked why I was informed so it’s more like dirt and that it provides nothing medicinally). This is a mud bath, I was annoyed I was not informed of this upfront. I felt rushed including my walk to the spa guided by an employee because there is no direct path, versus relaxed.... I could barely keep up with her. There were no extras such as a place to lounge after (no private garden area for example), nothing available to exfoliate with, or products to apply post bath. It was a nothing special experience - and there’s a mandatory 20% tip before you even have the service! I will not go back. Disappointing.

Worst experience ever! I never ever spent about $300 for shabby service at a shabby room like a worst room in a shabby motel with broken shower. When we asked for changing room, they refused changing room for us and insisting on looking for tool to fix the shower at midnight. We tried to be patient and waited for them at least half a hour but still cant fix the shower. It was already almost 1am!!! we are so sleepy but we still not able to take shower!!! When we lost patience and asked for changing room again, they lied to us and said no vacant room was available so the only way they can do is spending time to fix the shower. We were so mad that we told them the only thing we can do is to cancel the room and get refund. We would rather find another hotel or just go home in midnight. So eventually they changed room for us. But the room has broken door at bathroom and our king size bed became queen size bed which is much smaller and not comfortable for us. We were disappointed and suggested them to give us two rooms, one room with broken shower but at least having king bed for us to have comfortable sleep, and another room with broken door and small bed but at least having working shower for us to be able to take shower. Since we paid money for a king size bed and working shower, we thought our idea is good and they should be able to satisfy us. But they refused to satisfy us and said they cant give us both rooms. We were so sad. We squeeze in the small shabby bed in the shabby room with poor sound isulation, listened to the noise of the car passing on the way outside the hotel and we couldnt have a good sleep at all. Next morning we complained to the guy at front door, but the shabby guy even said they cant provide better service to us and suggest us go to another hotel next time for better service. He didnt respect us and treated us roughly. The way he talked to us is very rough and kind of discrimination on Asian woman. I dont think he would treat his Amerixan sisters and brothers in such a rough way. We were thinking about filing a lawsuit again him. We are not deserve to pay money for rough treatment and shabby service!!!

I am not understanding why this facility is rated so high. While it was very nice that the staff accommodated a change to our reservation due to an unforeseen circumstance, I was truly disappointed with what I experienced. I was asked to go an area and remove all my clothing in a locker area that had no locks. I am a large guy, but the towels that are provided are cheap and small. Entering the mud bath, mineral bath, showers and steam room area is completely wide open. No privacy whatsoever. I was then asked to take a shower, which is standard but there was no shower curtain. Then I entered the mud bath, which was ok. I was asked if I wanted a face mask, cucumbers on my eyes, and a cool cloth for my forehead. The mask was applied thinly and not very effective and the cloth was ice cold (which was initially a shock). Once out the mud bath then back to the shower. Over to the mineral bath in which the tub was so small I had a difficult time enjoying it. The steam room was ok, but very small. After the steam room I moved to a body wrap area. This was nothing more than a cheap thin blanket wrapped partly around you. No music, no scents and still an open area with no privacy. Due to being late, I was unable to experience the message portion of the spa. I guess that I had higher expectations that what I experienced since this was my first time to experience and mud and mineral bath. However, I would expect a higher level of service and amenities for any spa. I will not be back and will not recommend this place to any of my family or friends. I hope the ownership will reinvest funds to improve these areas.

Arriving early we decided to see if our room was ready and sure enough at noon it was.But the spa was the first thing to go to to soak after the almost 2 hour drive. What a relief it was to have the mineral water focus on the tension of the lower back. Wow. How good can it get. There was more to come. In the morning, I was greeted by the spa manager to start my CBD treatment. So, a quick shower and then into the hot peat with minerals for a bone relaxing weightless treat.Climbing in, he asked me if I had been here before. I said sure. So, I climbed into the tub and sunk deep into the soothing warm peat. Weightless was the only way to describe it. And each minute, I felt my body relax and sink deeper into a state of calmness.Cool cloth for your forehead, I said, sure. Cucumbers for your eyes. Why not. The spa attendant was most gracious and got me water or whatever I needed almost instantly. I had been there before, but this time was for their CBD treatment.After 15 mins, the mud came off, and I went to the shower to get most of the mud washed away and then on to the mineral bath. Heated to about 105 degrees he offered a citrus scent to the water. As that filled my nose, he then put in the CBD bath salts.More water, more cool wash clothes to the forehead, yes. Wow. I was loving this.As I sat there soaking my cares away, I decided to forgo the steam, because I was already hot enough and the wrap of cloth was the next step to help me to cool down. As I began my cooling portion of the treatment, I drifted off to what seemed to be 20-30 mins.Next Roy, arrived and in a deep voice said, Are you about ready. I said yep. So, he prepared the room and I got under the sheet on the massage table. His technique was long deep strokes that took the tension further out of my body.
