What a blessing to have been led to Dr. Robbins. I have been seeing Dr. Robbins for quite some time and yet I still look forward to his sessions because of the invaluable guidance he always offers. He is understanding, kind, a great listener, always offers the most helpful practical advice/tools and truly cares about the well-being of his clients. I have met with many therapists and none, in my opinion have been as insightful, compassionate, trustworthy, knowledgeable, or experienced as Dr. Robbins. I cannot thank Dr. Robbins enough for what he has done for me. His faith based support and wise counsel has helped me grow and navigate through all kinds of tough circumstances. When someone goes above and beyond to help you, and has had such a positive impact on the quality of your life like Dr. Robbins has had on mine, you want to others to know how outstanding he is. My experience seeing Dr. Robbins has been arguably the best decision of my adult life outside of marrying my wife.I’ve learned so many effective communication techniques and relationship strategies (that are not gimmicky or inauthentic) the past couple of years that I wish I had met him sooner, and I thank God our paths have crossed.He gracefully challenges me on a regular basis, kindly helping me become the best husband and father I can be.His business acumen is also elite and has helped me shape critical decisions in the workplace as his mentoring/advice crosses over well.His experience of some 30,000+ hours is evident. Where should I start? My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Robbins for counseling for quite some time now. We talk about anything and everything from extended family, to children and of course most importantly our marriage relationship. He cares, he listens and he has excellent practical guidance. Quite literally guidance on handouts for us to practice at home. The guidance is filled with wisdom from years of counseling after having seen and heard it all. It was quite comforting to know that we were not alone in our struggles. Most importantly, with his guidance we have overcome many challenges, established healthy communication practices and continue to learn ways to improve our relationship. For those who are particularly looking for a faith-based counselor like we were, look no further. Even if you are not, look no further. As one who works in the medical field, too often we find medical advice to be very vague, one-sided and sometimes difficult to act on and put into practice. Dr. Robbins makes it very easy to understand and creates an actionable plan customized to your needs. I really appreciate that and the proof is in the results. It works, it really works!

In some ways Dr Robbins was a lifesaver for me. I feel so comfortable talking with him and he has given me tools to be able to cope with so many different things in my life. Dr. Robbins is a very kind, considerate, and emotionally in-tune person. He is good at listening and offers very sound, logical advice, even if its not what you want to hear (it might be what you need to hear). He shares books and stories that are relevant and helpful to the type of therapy that you need. I highly recommend.

Dr. Robbins explored what we had both hoped for in our relationship with each other, and in less than a year he was able to navigate some difficult circumstances and set us up to see eye to eye. We are happy and growing together again with the help of Dr. Robbins tools and processes; all of which are rooted in our faith Christianity and the tools keep us both accountable. Dr. Robbin is an absolutely AMAZING Marriage Counselor. He is extremely easy to talk to and exceptionally relatable. He listens, identifies the issue(s) quickly and provides excellent feedback to both parties. He made both of us feel comfortable and heard. He has relatable stories from his own personal experiences and provided exercises ( small & easy) for us to work on together after our session. I would estimate that we saw Dr. Robbins 8-10 times at which point Dr. Robbins said we seemed great and no longer in need of his service. Dr. Robbins was extremely helpful to us. My girlfriend and I were always comfortable around Dr. Robbins, especially with the problems that we were having. Hed always make sure both sides of the story were heard, that my girlfriend and I were both comfortable, and that wed receive the information/resources needed to resolve our conflicts.Despite the major conflicts my girlfriend and I were having, we were both so surprised to see how effective our 3 sessions with Dr. Robbins were. Ive been VERY impressed with Dr. Robbins and the way he was able to figure out what the real issues were in my relationships (in my case, with my teenage daughters) and offer really well-thought and impactful solutions. I had gone to another family therapist in the past who was frankly a waste of time. But Dr. Robbins is different in that he worked actively with me to figure out solutions. Hes been in the business for quite a while, so he really knows his stuff and Im sure hes seen every difficult relationship out there. In regards to my strained relationship with my teenage daughters, Dr. Robbins offered several wonderful techniques and suggestions to bring us back together (not an easy task with teenagers). If youre looking for a top-notch marriage and family counselor, who can tackle very serious family problems, and youve perhaps been frustrated with the sea of less-than impressive marriage & family therapists out there, then I recommend touching base with Dr. Robbins. My husband and I were too proud to admit we needed counseling and got to a point of separation. We have had 9 sessions so far and are still working on our issues; however, our communication has improved tremendously after meeting with Dr. Robbins.Dr. Robbins is insightful, fair, objective, and straightforward. He allowed us to discover our real issues as a couple and as individuals. He taught us how to prioritize our relationships, how to show love, how to compromise, how to apologize, how to have productive discussions, and how to manage finances as a couple. When looking for a pre martial counselor we researched using google and Dr. Robbins came up with 5 stars, he had amazing reviews. We made an appointment and we quickly realized that he was everything everyone stated he was. He listened to the issues we needed to fix, gave us tools to get back on track & fundamentals of a marriage to have a successful marriage. Dr Robbins could not have come into our lives at a better time. My husband and I discovered him several months ago at a time when we were ready to walk away from our marriage. For years we had been struggling with anger issues and learning how to communicate with each other. We have seen 3-4 different therapists in the past, but had not been able to resolve our issues, which were ones we were dealing with even since we were dating. Our previous therapists were much more affordable than Dr Robbins, but didn’t seem to make a significant impact overall.My husband convinced me that counseling was an important investment, one that we couldn’t afford not to make. In this case, we definitely got what we paid for. Dr Robbins was so helpful in redirecting our attention from what made us angry to the best practices we could implement to help us deal with our anger. Dr. Robbins has been a true Godsend. I have been struggling for years with anxiety and navigating through some very difficult life issues. Prior to seeing doctor Robbins, my only experience with counseling is what I saw on TV. But our experience exceeded expectations. We didnt really know what to expect going into the meetings but just knew that we needed some help. Dr. Robbins had a great way of understanding what our needs were and developed a plan. They say women want to know how the clock works, while men just want to know what time it is. Thankfully, Dr. Robbins has the amazing gift of explaining the dynamics of the ticking clock for MY benefit, while also keeping my husband plugged in, even though hed just prefer to get a quick time check! Dr. Robbins manages to get to the heart of our issues; with stories, examples and analogies that constantly bring us those AHA! moments of insight, followed by a moving forward action plan.What was once our strong & happy marriage, fell into bad habits & ugly patterns, which we just couldnt seem to get out of. We thought wed nailed it when we hit 30 years, but were struggling by year 34. Now, our sessions with Dr. Robbins have been a real game changer for us. We know how lucky we are to have found a Dr. that we BOTH like and respect. My husband and I have been married for seven years and theyve been seven good years overall but recently we hit a few topics in our marriage that we wanted to work through with a counselor. Dr. Robbins was an excellent choice - he cut straight to our main concerns, focused us on working through those and gave us foundational principles on marriage for the future. He definitely has a results driven approach and in just three sessions we were able to completely work through the items we needed to and were back on a great track. I wouldnt say I am glad we hit that rough spot but in a way I am because it allowed us to meet Dr. Robbins whose advice and mentorship is something I am so glad we were able to receive. His guidance really does help remind you of the value of marriage. My husband and I never had a bad marriage - in fact we are the types to peacefully discuss our differences and try to come up with solutions together but even in that atmosphere a couple can benefit from receiving advice and tools from someone who is an expert - I would say we would have benefitted equally as much from our sessions even without any challenges in our marriage. So if youre on the fence about whether things are bad enough to seek counseling, Id encourage you not to view it that way. Even if things are solid and youre just seeking a way to refresh your marriage, find a new appreciation of your relationship or gain fundamental ways to preserve a healthy marriage I would highly recommend Dr. Robbins.

Dr. Robbins is an amazing counselor. My wife and I struggled and were at a low in our marriage. Home was not feeling like home and were afraid it would start impacting our children. I had tried another counselor through my insurance an it was just not effective. We could not click like the way we were able to connect with Dr. Robbins. Anger-filled. Defeated. Disconnected. Troubled. Toxic. Broken. Those are just some of the adjectives to describe how my marriage was before my husband and I saw Dr. Robbins. Needless to say, after dealing with the aftermath of cancer treatments + chemo, IVF, career changes, setbacks, and major curveballs thrown our way, my husband and I were on the brink of divorce. We were growing apart, we stopped communicating with each other in a healthy way, and we knew we desperately needed help from a skilled therapist. I quickly did my research and found Dr. Robbins. I immediately texted my husband Dr. Robbins’ information and mentioned we needed to book an appointment ASAP. Within a week of calling, we had our first appointment with Dr. Robbins. My husband and I were nervous (and, naturally, a bit embarrassed) to share about our struggles, but we left our first appointment with so much hope. Dr. Robbins put us at ease and reminded us that our struggles were fixable if we put in the work. He was on the side of marriage and provided us with the tools we needed to get back on track. I love that he used personal examples whenever he could, infused God + faith into our conversations, and set attainable goals for each of us + our marriage. Dr. Robbins is kind, empathetic, warm, and easy to talk to. My husband and I always felt like we were visiting with a compassionate friend or family member instead of a typical therapist. After approximately 10 sessions, I can wholeheartedly say my husband and I are more united than we ever have been in our almost 10 years of marriage. We are 100% in-tune with each other and have the tools we need to keep improving our marriage. Thanks to Dr. Robbins, we learned how to work through our issues instead of thinking divorce was our answer. You know when you think about therapy in the movies and you want to cringe? And then you dream up in your head the type of therapist you’d want to have? Someone you can trust, someone who gives it to you straight, someone faith based, someone who allows you to feel safe and never judged. Someone you look forward to speaking with because their methods work and have really helped you? Dr. Robbins is THAT kind of therapist. I feel so grateful to have found him because over the last year he has helped with many areas of my life- setting goals, holding us accountable, providing new ways to do things, giving extremely profound insights. His research is thorough and every worksheet or handout he’s given us has actually been worth keeping and referencing. He doesn’t just blow smoke, he breaks things down for us and gives real life analogies that have helped us immensely in communication with each other and also with raising children in a gospel centered home. Whether you’re seeking help for a problem you have found to be bigger than you, or you just feel you might benefit from talking to someone and having a third party sound board I couldn’t give Dr. Robbins a more sterling review. Take my advice and call. I found him this very same way, by reading reviews and I showed up and said “is it true? Are you really this good?” And he is! He truly has a gift. I told my husband I’m scared he will help us solve all our problems that we won’t have any reason to keep seeing him! I contacted the office of Dr. Robbins after many other offices said they were booked for another 3 months. I left a message in the evening time, on behalf of my husband, who needed to see a professional urgently. The next morning, my husband received a call from his staff and he was booked within days. One of the things that I asked God was that he send me someone that would meet us where my husband and I were, someone that would pay attention to us, hear both of us and to help us resolve our issues. Dr. Robbins is highly educated and exceptionally qualified, professional, kind, trustworthy, friendly and approachable. He does couples counseling as well as individual counseling and his clients are of all ages. I worked as an intern at Turning Point Counseling for a few months and Dr. Robbins was always requested by people calling in to book an appointment. It was so clear that he is adored and respected by those who know him. If he has time in his schedule, he can take same day appointments and if you call early in the week you can usually get an appointment within the week. The office staff at Turning Point are extremely kind, understanding, accommodating, and very helpful with any questions you may have. You do not have to be a Christian to see Dr. Robbins. Dr. Robbins is amazing and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to see an experienced Marriage and Family Therapist!

I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Robbins. Five years ago I lost my job and career because of a debilitating illness and in 2014 we discovered that my wife has stage 4 breast cancer. Having two sick parents is very difficult for our two young sons to process, so we went to Dr. Robbins to get help for our boys and ourselves.Both my sons were strongly opposed to go to counseling, but from the beginning Dr. Robbins did a phenomenal job putting them at ease in the relaxed way he talked to them and with the use of brain teaser puzzles. Both of my sons gave Dr. Robbins a thumbs up after the first session.After several sessions of family counseling, all four of us were in a much better position to honestly face whats happening to and in our family. Ive received a tremendous amount of help through Dr. Peter Robbins counseling. As I told him, he is helping me move from marshmallow living into freedom and truth and strength. My marriage was on the verge of divorce but I was willing to give it one more try. So I asked my husband if he was willing to go to counseling with me. After so many years of saying no, this time he agreed. I didnt know where to go, so I prayed and asked God to provide me with a male Christian counselor that is within 15 miles radius from my home, and he needs to be older than us. After I prayed, I searched online and found TPC. I have heard about Dr. Robbins from Dr. Dobsons Focus On The Family before and know that Dr. Robbins has a great reputation. So I made the appointment. After the first session, we already felt some differences. And after 3 sessions, our communications and relationship have improved dramatically. Both my husband and I are more willing to work out our marriage instead of thinking about divorcing each other. Dr. Robbins gave us great advice based on his professional opinions and from his personal experiences. He is practical and to the point. My husband and I are planning to go back to continue to improve our marriage. Our whole family especially our children are grateful to Dr. Robbins who saved our family.

As a couple that have been married for 8 years, our daily communication is going on a downward spiral lately and we both agree to seek for some professional opinions and advices . My husband decided to go with Dr. Robbins after reading all the positive reviews online. I was quite reluctant at the beginning cause I’m leaning more towards a female therapist. I remember we both were pure silent during the entire 30mins ride to our first session with Dr. Robbins. It was awful. Anyways, His office is simple, functional and comfortable. You don’t see much of the artificial settings like some other places, which is great. And the very first session went so well which was way beyond my expectation. Dr. Robbins is a smart listener and his interactions are just spot-on. He is very experienced and insightful. Instead of laying out all the theories, he gave us many lively examples that we can totally relate to. It’s really helpful that a professional voice is telling you that you are not alone. Even better that Dr. Robbin has a good sense of humor!! It makes the 45mins session so relaxing and of course productive. We are now on our 5th session and felt like we have made a great progress. My husband and I had been to another marriage and family therapist- obviously, to no avail. When things were really bad I looked into our insurance but nothing fit our needs. I then looked online and was impressed by and Dr. Robbins reviews- they were ALL 5 out of 5. I was also taken by all the quotes/statements that he had on his website- one in particular, I have worked with hundreds of serious chronic relationship problems that got solved! I must add that part of me was a bit hesitant to call because of the Christian base that was stressed. I called anyway and asked if the counseling can be done without the religious aspect since I am not of this faith- they assured me it could. We took the risk and we are both glad we did!My husband and I had gotten off track- work, children and life. Dr. Robbins helped us in really just one session. He gives the whys along with the hows to get back in the correct path. He gave us information we would have never had gotten (nor thought of on our own) that renewed our reason for being together!! Be very careful in trusting Peter Robbins. From my two meetings with him, he appears to be very irrational and unprofessional. For example, he talked extensively about his own life and shared many sordid details about his childhood including, his father punching his mother in the face in the middle of a restaurant on the day of their wedding. These comments were not relevant to the context of the issues my ex-wife and I were dealing with.My ex-wife and I trusted him to resolve normal martial communication issues, and Peter Robbins digressed into his own personal issues and projected them onto us. He also many other remarks that were sweeping generalizations based on his personal stereotypes. Im not sure if he was just exhausted, under the influence of chemical substances, apathetic, intentionally malicious, or just not very intelligent.He also made many other assumptions based his emotions and did not ask many relevant questions or seek to clarify facts. He did rather honestly admit, Im not like other therapists, and I take sides. This approach may be valid, but only after one garners all the relevant facts instead of operating from a personal bias.Im honestly astonished & dismayed he is allowed to practice as a licensed therapist.PS Im using my real name in this review, so please feel free to contact me if you need further details.

I want to let the world know a little about Dr. Peter Robbins. Recently, my wife and I were shopping for the BEST marriage counseling we could find in southern California. After interviewing many consolers we decided to peruse a relationship with Dr. Robbins. Without getting into our personal details, we’ve seen a few different counselors over the past 21 years, with resulting in very little to no real progress. Dr. Robbins is a strait forward no nonsense consoler (Dr.) that has open my eyes to many AH-HA moments. He’s given me the opportunity to see my wife’s perspective like I couldn’t ever imagine or understand. He is not the cheapest guy but he’s worth a lot more than what he charges! When it comes to counseling, for some reason in our culture today this sounds like something negative. Ive seen counselors before in past years and to be honest usually had a pit in my stomach as I entered the office. These visits were short lived. Ive only seen Dr. Robbins for a short time, and I have to say the first time my husband and I went, I did have a pit in my stomach and was tense about the cost of the session. After our first session, this feeling quickly passed. I was given hope during that session. He listened, he shared his life experiences and he provided guidance. Now when we go, I dont really ever have an agenda but as soon as we sit down it just flows.He fights for marriages, family and doesnt pass blame. He talks in a calm soft voice and uses analogies that bring life to what he is trying to say.When I was looking for someone to talk to, I was stressed because really, who do you trust? Do they love what they do? Do they have a family? Kids? Do they believe in God and are taking action daily to be a child of God? Do they lead by example? I prayed for us to pick and go to the right person. I can say with confidence that my prayer was answered. Thanks Dr. Robbins for walking the talk, for caring about me, my marriage, my family and my relationship with God. I look forward to receiving more tools to help me be a better me, wife, and mother.
