Dr. Newman and her practice are excellent. I am bad keeping my eyes open for some of the tests. Really bad. One test took over 20 minutes because I kept blinking. But Dr. Newman was patient, made me feel welcome, and cracked a few jokes to relax me and got the tests done.The location is convenient with free parking, her staff are efficient and knowledgeable. And her practice is right next to other stores so you can knock out a couple errands at the same time. I have only good things to say about Dr. Newman Optometry!

Thank you Dr. Newman and team! This was the most thorough examine I have ever received. I knew something wasnt right with how I was seeing things but it wasnt as simples as being near or far sighted (in fact it wasnt really that at all). Thanks for your extra care and walking me through the process. I cannot sing your praises enough. Plus Im so stoked for my super rad new glasses.

Dr. Newman ophthalmologist is the absolute best ophthalmologist I’ve ever used out of the three that I’ve used within six years time. She happens to be the most thorough with all of the operation tools if I’m saying it right… I trust and for the rest of my eyesight I will a client.

Forever grateful for Dr. Newman. Never realized what I was missing in an optometrist until I met her. I would just go to an optomertrist get the standard insured covered glasses and be on my way. Not this time, she is truly the best and communicates very well different eye issues, challenges, etc. I work on a laptop all day for work notices some changes in my eyes and strain. Within a month of following her instructions and getting real glasses that will help my eye therapy I noticed my eye strain and headaches improve.Do not take your eyesight for granted if you notice something different especially as we age, go see Dr. Newman.

I highly recommend Dr. Newman. I have never had anyone be so detailed and precise with an eye exam. She took her time to explain every aspect of the process and more! During the annual eye exam she discovered something no other optometrist has before and because of her my eyes are going to get the treatment they need! She genuinely cares about helping people and because of that I she has found a loyal customer.

Dr Newman is knowledgeable and friendly. She dedicated ample time to answer all of my questions and explain what each single instrument was measuring and the results. I mostly see decent eye doctors who are friendly, nice and competent. I checked to see who was in the vicinity of me plus within my eye plan and Dr. Newmans office was my first choice to check out. SO GRATEFUL that I did schedule my annual eye exam here for both eyeglasses and contacts. Dr. Newmans local practice as a Developmental Optometrist is no joke. I learned so much about my eyes motor function and my vision through her knowledge and research. Dr. Newman is also so wonderful at explaining everything to me without talking down to me. You can tell she works with all age groups and her bedside manner as an eye doctor is welcoming and supportive.I am nearsighted with astigmatism and have issues with my motor function which I am learning to correct by the exercises prescribed by Dr. Newman. Ive learned that these exercise are helpful after I brush my teeth (I use my toothbrush as the wand to stare at and follow) in the morning and at night. Dr. Newman and her staff are so generous with their time and careful to explain and answer any questions you might have during your visit. I probably tried on almost every pair of frames they have but went with Dr. Newmans choice for me (probably the 2nd pair I tried on) because she knew what I needed for my progressive lens. Eye health is important and serious! Ive been excited every time I visit to see what I learn next about my eyes. My contacts and the Rx have been great, too. With my eyeglasses, Ive found that I strain less and that reading a book or onscreen is much more relaxed for me– I just had my eyes checked a year before so I didnt expect that my Rx would change and its changed for the better now that I know what I should be looking for. Go see Dr. Newman if you think anything is going on with your eyesight– things Ive ignored as a kid and now well into my adult life can be worked on and improved. I had no idea and to be Dr. Newmans patient is a blessing. Please go see her and invest in your eye health and eye care!

I have never had an optometrist that is as thorough and dedicated to finding the right glasses/contact fit solution as Dr. Newman. I have a complicated prescription already, but Dr. Newman ran tests I have never taken before and found there were multiple aspects wrong with my old prescription and as a result, has made it significantly easier to for me to work and read. She is incredibly knowledgeable and goes the extra mile for her patients, and her staff are also as thoughtful and professional - I have had a great experience here and will recommend anyone looking for an optometrist to Dr. Newman. Overall a fantastic experience!

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Newman for several years. Dr. Newman takes great care and caution in each visit and genuinely cares about her patients and their eye health. I never feel rushed while visiting Dr. Newman. She is kind and gentle and extremely knowledgeable about eyes. She thoroughly tests the eyes to determine eye health using state of the art technology. She has great recommendations for eye products. I have purchased prescription eye glasses, contacts, sunglasses and eye drops through her and have been very happy with everything. The office is always clean. Jeffery is always so pleasant and great to deal with. Both Dr. Newman and Jeffery make my husband and I feel as if we are well-cared for family members. Hi,I am writing to share a little about my visit to Dr. Newman Optometry. I recently visited the clinic for the first time and had a great experience. The front office staff were kind and courteous. Jeffrey helped me to select frames that are perfect for me. Most importantly, I felt that I received a thorough eye exam. I’ve been to see Dr Newman twice now and am very happy with the service there. Dr Newman and her assistant Jeffery are both absolute pleasures to be around and they both genuinely care about you. I was prescribed contact lenses for the first time and they were so good with the training and were genuinely happy to see my positive response when I saw so clearly with them for the first time. I had been looking for a new Optometrist for some time and always checked their reviews first, before going to see them. Dr. Newman and staff had 5 stars across the board on the majority of their reviews. I know you cant always base an experience on someone else review, but this time they matched perfectly! Dr. Newman and staff were exceptional! They exceeded every box! From the moment you walk in and talk to Victoria, its a non stop welcoming feeling! And once you go in to see Dr. Newman it carries! She was very thorough, showed care and patience with every question you have, she genuinely loves her job and truly cares about her patients. When I came to Dr. Newman, I had been told by my ophthalmologist that there was nothing wrong with my eyes despite the fact that I was suffering from constant eye fatigue, daily migraines and almost 24/7 nausea. I had actually done Vision Therapy as a child and benefited greatly from it then. In doing some research, I found Dr. Newman and made an appointment. Dr. Newman spent a lot of time with me and was very thorough with the tests she ran. Turns out I had quite a few issues with my eyes, some of which are trouble with eye tracking, fixation and teaming. Finally, there was an explanation for my migraines and nausea!Ive had about fifteen Vision Therapy sessions with Dr. Newman and my life has changed greatly. Not only have the tracking, fixation and teaming improved, but also my nausea and migraines are almost non-existent! Im actually able to get a lot more work done now because I dont have to keep taking breaks to rest my eyes. Whats more, Dr. Newman truly cares about her patients and their progress. Both her and Jeffery are encouraging, down-to-earth, patient and just a joy to be around. If youre experiencing seemingly unexplainable symptoms with your eyes, do yourself a favor and give Dr. Newman a call. I cant recommend her and her team enough!

My experience with Dr. Newman optometry was nothing shy of wonderful. I had a scratched cornea, and they were able to fit me in same day to not only look at my eyes but also prescribed necessary eyedrops; I was better within one day.Additionally, Jeffrey is one of the most helpful people I have encountered while dealing with any doctors office, and he was also very helpful when I needed to reschedule my follow up appointment.Needless to say, I have found my optometrist in Los Angeles and I will recommend any/all friends to Dr. Newman as well.Thank you!

Dr Newman and Jeffery are both incredible at what they do, and some of the nicest people I have met. I completed 30 sessions of in-person vision therapy and can confidently say my vision, focus and overall eye health improved drastically. Im now on their Vivid Vision plan using the Oculus VR equipment, which has been great, but doesnt compare to the 1-on-1 training I received with Dr Newman! Would highly recommend to anyone in need of vision therapy or even those who just need an experienced optometrist.

Dr. Newman is fantastic! I’ve had many optometrist in the past and Dr Newman truly goes above and beyond the usual optometrist. I could tell she loves her job -- She truly cares about her clients, knows and remembers your particular eye status, stays up with your treatment (if you have any), and examines and studies your eyes at a deeper level than the typical optometrist – I’d say she is more of a personal doctor rather than a common one.If you’re currently looking for an optometrist or thinking of getting a better one, I highly recommend her.

Dr. Charlotte Newman is knowledgeable and personable. Her exams are extremely thorough, taking advantage of both the skills and arts of diagnosing and prescribing. She neither starts nor limits her exam to glasses. She focuses on the health of your eyes, taking into consideration how you use them and what you want to see. If you have an appointment, you will most likely be the only one there, assuring you of Dr. Newmans undistracted attention. After getting your prescription, there are hundreds of frames to choose from -- basic and generic to high fashion designer frames. You will leave with great frames and knowing a lot more about your eyes and how to take care of them. I highly recommend this practice. Both Dr. Newman and optician, Mr. Jeffrey, will take very good care of you.

Ive been going to Dr Newman for years and I absolutely love her. Shes so thorough. She makes sure the prescription is exactly what it should be which is more than I can say for every other optometrist Ive ever been to. With other optometrists I used to get new glasses or contacts and they would make me dizzy and my eyes couldnt focus. I was always dismissed and told that I would just have to get used to them. With Dr. Newman, that has never been the case. I always leave with my prescription so precise that there has never been the need to get used to anything. I leave with perfect vision and clarity. She is one of a kind and I will never go anywhere else again for glasses and contacts.

Ive been coming here for over 3 years now. Excellent service, top quality glasses, and a very knowledgeable and caring doctor as well as staff. My past eye doctors seemed to always rush through patients and would always overcorrect my prescription, causing dizziness and multiple returns for corrections. I had a terrible experience with this doctor, so I cannot understand the positive reviews. I have been wearing contacts for 26 years, so I know the drill, and most docs have me in and out in about 30 minutes. Dr. Newman took an hour and a half to perform a basic eye exam, at which time I said I had to leave to get back to work, and she hadnt even BEGUN the contact lens fitting yet! She did not seem to know what she was doing and she really struggled to figure out my glasses prescription. In addition to that, she claimed I needed to switch to a different brand and type of contacts, which seemed peculiar as I have been wearing the same high-end brand my whole life without any problem, and which she said would cost $273 for the fitting, after originally quoting me $90. First of all, that is an outrageous price for a fitting! Secondly, no eye doctor Ive seen in my years has ever charged different prices for fittings, nor have they tried to upsell me like this. The whole experience really made me question her credentials and it felt like a racket. I will be seeing another doctor who runs a legitimate business and to ensure I get the correct prescription.

Dr. Newman was assigned to me through my insurance and man was I lucky. Not only did she help me figure out why I had chronic itchy eye she helped me find the perfect glasses for my needs. I am an actor and I do a lot of staged readings and it was very hard to see the script and yet look up and focus quickly on my scene partner. She and her technicians created such a perfect pair of Progressive lenses on beautiful lightweight frames. I used to hate wearing glasses. Dr. Newman changed that. She’s also incredibly kind as informative as is her staff . I’m forever grateful.

I am not only a client of dr Newman for prescriptional reasons and having glasses/contacts but also was apart of the Vision Therapy program. Just a year ago when I met Dr. Newman the first time I was skeptical of Vision Therapy and thought it was placebo or wouldnt deem any impactful results. I was wrong. Vision therapy actually helped me notice how symptoms that I simply accepted as things I had to deal with were actually fixable and not the norm My depth perception and ease of life have increased exponentially and I no longer experience chronic migraines- this is a symptom I previously had no idea related to my vision. I am able to study better, work better, do not get tired as easily and feel over all more relaxed. Definitely recommend this office if youre looking for a Doctor who will actually care about their clients and offer assistance in making your life easier. Thank you to Doctor Newman and Jeffrey for being such great people and making this journey welcoming and relatively easy even when I personally got frustrated.

I took my daughter Sarah here to get blue light glasses. Both Dr. Newman and Jeffrey were so helpful and made us feel very welcome. They helped her choose the right glasses and gave her tips on how to use them. After two weeks of using the blues light glasses, my daughter says she does not have as many headaches. Dr. Newman and her assistant Jeffery were very responsive when we paid out of pocket for two very expensive eye exams. However, when we asked for help getting authorization from our insurance for therapy that she recommended it took her office over three months to get back to me after several calls. Her office stated they submitted the authorization request, but was denied. When I called my insurance to follow up on the denial they said that it was never submitted or denied. I contacted my insurance myself to see if the therapy was something that was covered.My insurance said that the eye doctor would need to call my insurance to get a predetermination done - I HAD BEEN WAITING 3 months for this. When I followed up with Dr. Newmans office giving them the predetermination phone number, Jeffery bemoaned the fact that the would need to do that, he reminded me that he is too busy to make a call like that for my son - he is only one person at their office. After I said I would post on Google/Yelp only then did Dr. Newman call me or contact my insurance to get the authorization needed. DO NOT GO HERE!

I’m sure Dr. Newman is one of the best optometrists in Los Angeles.I am writing this review only using my right eye. The reason why that is very special is because when I was 8 I experienced an impact trauma in my right eye that left me with extensive retinal laser surgery, an artificial lens and a large scar in the center of my cornea. I was able to see blurred colors but it wasn’t good enough vision for my brain to uptake so it left me with a lazy eye that I had the vast majority of growing up.When I was in college I was given a contact lens because my ophthalmologist said that other than the corneal scar there shouldn’t stop me from having good vision. The contact made me see better and got rid of my lazy eye but didn’t help much in the way of improving my vision. I could read massive letters, which was a great feat but still far from good vision.Its a really tough prescription to. Most doctors will just skip over my bad eye, replace the same prescription year after year and focus on keeping my good eye safe. Which is fine, but what if you did both? That’s where Dr. Newman comes in.Dr. Newman cares, a lot. When she speaks you can tell that she is really intelligent, but also caring enough to make sure that you understand everything about your situation. She will explain things that she is amazed at that no other doctors explained to you before. She is also caring towards your financial situation and is keenly aware on how to bill your insurance as well. I trust her completely.She took an entire hour to find me this new prescription. This new prescription has me seeing a 20/60. Which is only ten points higher than what the best case scenario outcome I had for a freaking corneal transplant. (I have looked into all options). Right now I am doing something that I haven’t been able to do since I was 8 years old. I am using only my right eye to type on the computer (Which honestly, I probably didn’t even do then). Also I am experiencing my brain slowly learning to use my right eye as the dominant eye when I open my left eye right now. (I took my left eye contact out, which with my new right eye contact makes it so I have substantially better vision than my left). Sure the font size is literally 30 right now, and my face is a foot away from my computer, but I can see.I thought I would share my experience, it’s quite amazing one, and people like Dr. Newman definitely need to be celebrated.
