2023-08-04 22:16:12My former neurologist recommended Dr Lui because I didnt like her office staff. Im so glad that I was fortunate to have Dr Lui as my doctor. I have been his patient for years now and I have never been happier.First thing he does when he comes in the room is check the chart, to verify the intake form was put in correctly (if not, he immediately corrects the staff).I love how brutally honest he is, its refreshing to have a doctor be honest. Ive had plenty of other doctors keep their opinions and diagnosis to themselves, expecting me to read their minds. I may not always like what he says, but it helps to hammer in the truth. He takes a long time with patients because he wants to be sure their questions are answered. Who could fault a doctor for taking his or her time assuring that every question is answered?

2023-10-04 22:37:36My father recently suffered a stroke and Dr. Liu treated him at USC Arcadia Hospital. We were grateful for Dr. Liu’s expertise, calmness and sound advice. He visited my father regularly at the hospital and developed a great rapport with my father, which I am most grateful for. Dr. Liu has been a wonderful doctor.

2019-01-20 19:58:18I have been taking my grandmother to see Dr. Liu to treat Parkinson’s and I believe he is the best neurologist based on his professional knowledge and his sympathy toward patients. My grandmother is one of the most stubborn patients who always “requests” doctors to prescribe whatever the miracle pills she heard from her friends or seen on TV and does not always follow the doctor’s advice. Dr. Liu does not write prescriptions just because she asks. Instead, Dr. Liu have her try the medications he thinks it’s best for her based on the lab results and his clinical experience. For example, He had carefully switched the medication PCP prescribed for my grandmother and got rid of lots of side effects and greatly improved her outcome. He also “threatened” my grandmother with the possible consequences if she didn’t take the medication properly. I can understand why he is sometimes mistaken as arrogant or rude. But he definitely has a good heart and wants every single of his patients to follow his advice and get treated well.In addition, my grandmother”s insurance does not cover the specialty drug he ordered. I called the office and the staff tried their best to apply authorization to her insurance and while waiting for approval, they had arranged some sample drugs for her to get started.I think Dr. Liu is a good doctor who not only has good clinical judgement but also professional ethics.

2017-03-22 02:25:33Experience was terrible. He was assigned to my mother while she was admitted in the ER. He was not her choice. Dr. Liu comes across arrogant and is rude. During an office visit he offended my mother by saying something mean to my father. From that day on we never let her go back. Receptionists, young. They act like they would rather be anywhere but there. If you have elder parents, dont let them go alone. Go with them so you can tell him to back off when he gets rude.

2020-09-24 23:47:01I usually dont give negative reviews, but as a public service I need to let everyone know that Dr. Liu must be the absolute worst doctor in any field, bar none.He saw my mother earlier this year. He was late by 2 hours. When he arrived in the room, he didnt say a word and sat down at the computer. No apology from him for being crazy late. She greeted him and he didnt respond or turn around. When he finally opened his mouth he said something offensive. While she was trying to explain her symptoms, he was incredibly rude. He didnt let her talk more than a few words at a time before interrupting. He berated her for not giving him the answer he wanted to hear.Look, everyone knows the first step in being a great doctor is to learn how to listen to patients. He never learned that in med school or elsewhere. I dont care how smart someone is at baseline. If they cant gather all the pieces of the puzzle together first, theyre not going to be effective. What a shame. If we could give 0 stars we would. This kind of attitude isnt only ineffective, but can actually kill someone if hes not getting the complete picture. If you care about yourself or loved ones then go to someone else even if hes the only neurologist in your insurance network.
