I’ve always had positive experiences with the company. I had a great conversation with Dr. Larry Gottlieb, he seems like a really great person. All of the staff are always professional and courteous. The doctors are knowledgeable about their expertise and personable. They don’t try to force me to buy new frames everytime I come which makes the experience better. They even helped me with identifying more financial benefits I could receive from my job. I don’t see myself going to another company.

I first came to this place when I had trouble seeing clearly, driving at night. I wasnt sure if I would be able to find a place that would take my insurance. I was surprised this place did. I had low expectations given the fact that many offices that take medi-cal dont take goof care of their customers but I was wrong. I was immediately greeted by the receptionist, all of my questions were answered in a timely calm manner. I was not treated like I was incompetent. It felt good to be treated like a human in a nice clean office area. I got my glasses swiftly and they are perfect. I ended up recommending my mother who also had a very good experience. I even took back another pair of frames and paid out of pocket to have them made to my prescription an they even offered my old lenses back. This place I HIGHLY suggest their prices are reasonable, their employees are kind and well educated, and the environment is CLEAN! Will 100% be coming back and suggesting all my friends and family in need.

Dr. Gottliebs office runs very smoothly. They were able to give us a Saturday appointment, and I feel my family did get the best level of care.The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. We were not left in a room to wait for a long time. There was always a staff member with me and even helped me to pick out the right frame to fit my face.Dr. Gottlieb explained what was happening with my prescription and what he saw on the images of the back of my eyes.I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a new optometrist.Best of all they do take my vision insurance and they do follow up with their patients; which are the 2 reasons I decided to leave my old optometry office.Thank you. 😊

After going to 2 optometrists, I just couldn’t get the right contact prescription. Nothing worked. Then I saw Dr. Pettit and he spent so much time with me figuring out what would work. Now I am able to wear contacts!All the staff was outstanding and friendly. Myra the optician spent so much time helping my husband and I to find the right frames. We are very picky.Great experience. We had to come quite far and it was worth it.

Absolutely love Dr. Pettit here. Have been seeing him for years and the front and back office people are wonderful too. Always get top notch service and lovely eyewear. There’s a lot of styles to choose from and they provide a very thorough eye exam. It’s a little further from me than I’d like but definitely worth the drive.

The doctors staff did not take my eye health concern seriously, the reason I came to Dr. Gottlieb, and instead pressured me into buying expensive frames and lenses that I did not want or need. I called back after being pressured and asked for a refund, assuming since they told me it would be 2 to 3 weeks to get the lenses that this should be no problem. Clearly it was a problem for them because someone there would be losing a commission or $$$ or something. They put their pocketbook ahead of my health.Instead, I got the runaround on the phone from their staff. First, they put me on hold for 20 minutes. I hung up and called back. This time they told me to call back tomorrow when the office manager gets in. I was in the area so I walked into the office to ask for a full refund. This time they gave me some made-up story about the order already being placed and there was nothing they could do. I told them I wasnt leaving until I received a refund. Then the son, Donald Gottlieb comes out and tells me he can offer a refund but only partially because they have already submitted the information to the lab. He disappears and the clerk comes out and says she can give me a partial refund. I asked for a receipt so that I understood what I was paying for and she tells me they did not have the information and would need to wait 10 days and come back, then they would provide a refund. So I think they pulled the refund number out of thin air or somewhere else!In addition, when I did have my eye exam, the person who performed the initial tests clearly did not know what she was doing. She couldnt operate a single piece of 4 testing machines. She kept having to get up and go ask someone else for help. In the final test, she insisted their equipment had a software error because nothing she tried worked. She finally asked for help again and after several attempts, the other person realized that this person didnt take the lens cap off of the machine. Clearly a rookie mistake, but this did not instill a sense of confidence in their testing. Clearly, Dr. Gottlieb should train his staff better before allowing them to interact in public with patients.I came to Dr. Larry Gottlieb as a former patient to have my eyes checked for a potential health problem, and instead, he and his staff were more concerned about upselling selling me frames and lenses to line their pocketbooks. You can tell money was their main concern because Dr. Larry Gottlieb had ordered additional testing after discovering an issue, but after the salesperson completed his sale, he sent me on my way without scheduling the test the doctor ordered. I had to remind him about the test and he didnt know what I was talking about until he checked my chart and said, Oh yeah, lets get you scheduled for that.While Dr. Larry Gottlieb seemed competent, he allowed his own desire for extra money to get ahead of providing quality healthcare. Shameful.

We love Dr. Gottlieb Optometry! Our whole family goes there! The office staff is so friendly every time you walk in! Myra is the best- She took the extra time and helped me get my sunglass prescription fixed - and ordered new glasses for me! She really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my order!! I have been coming here for years now and every time I have came, it has been a great experience. For the eye exam they have many different tests. It’s definitely a full screening of the eye, they do not take short cuts. Dr. Gottlieb takes the time to get to know his patients as well. The staff there really takes the time to fulfill your needs when it comes to making appointments to picking out eyewear. Myra always helps me when to picking out frames and does not care how long it takes me to pick out frames. Myra will give an honest opinion which i appreciate. Also, Jason is really knowledgeable when it comes to insurances.

Very knowledgeable, kind and no-nonsense eye doctor! Staff was also excellent during my appointment the other day! I felt very comfortable throughout my whole entire visit which is important to me as I get bad anxiety very often, so the kindness of everyone in this office was great. The doctor was humorous although very professional as well, I never wore contacts before and he made sure I was comfortable putting them in and taking them out before I left and I am very grateful for the patience that was put into that experience as I feel like a pro wearing contacts now lol

Great service from start to finish. I was in and out in no time. Dr. Gottlieb and staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. I went in for a new subscription because my glasses broke and my subscription was long overdue anyway. I also decided to give contacts another try, which can be useful when I go out. Dr. Gottlieb is determined to help me find the perfect pair of contacts....which we are still working on. My exam was complete without dilation!! (Yay!) Overall, I would highly recommend!!

Absolutely great. After our medical group closed their optometrist department my wife and I searched the area and could not find a optometrist that accepted our eye plan and those that did was like over a month wait .Called Dr Gottieb and within a few minutes accepted our insurance and a appointment the next day for both of us . Exam was through and Dr Gottlieb explained all the issues.Staff was great and now we have an optometrist for many years to come .

I have been a a patient with Dr. Gottlieb for five years and I have some unique issues in that I travel and live overseas and when Im home he has taken care of me. The most important quality I like in my doctors is they are personable and straight forward with their diagnoses. Well in this case I feel Ive gotten more and if I had to recommend an eye doctor to any of my friends or associate Id wouldnt hesitate to send them to him.

Do you know whats been going on in the last 3 years? I’ve been coming here for years from when my dad would take me, now im an adult paying cash and still come here when I live 25 minutes away. They referred me to LASIK eye surgery a few years ago which is why I still have to see them every year for a regular check up to see how my eyes are holding up. They are always so informative and helpful with any needs I have. I have dry eyes and Dr gave me the whole run down on this new system that helps. I will continue to come here for as long as we are both around. Also I am such a procrastinator and always schedule at the very end of the year and they are still able to get me in the same week I call. So convenient.

Sadly, this office lost my business as of today after being a customer for several years. The optometrists are fine, but the staffs attention to detail has been slipping. Last November I ordered new glasses and specifically asked for Transition lenses, and paid for that option. When my glasses arrived almost two weeks later, the lenses were *not* Transition lenses. They had to take back the glasses and I had to wait again over one week before they were ready.Two weeks ago the office sent their customers an email announcing they can coat glasses lenses to alleviate fogging, due to the fact that were all wearing masks during the pandemic. Other than showing the price of the coating, no other details were provided in the email. On the email was a link where you could request an appointment, which I immediately proceeded to do. Several days after requesting an appointment for the coating, no reply. So I called, and they had no clue I made the online request. I was then told Id have to wait over one week to come in for the coating, so I made the appointment.During the phone conversation I was told *nothing* about what the procedure entails. So I assumed it was done onsite and I could wait in the store while it was being done. I arrive this morning, reminding them that my appointment was for having my lenses coated. One of the receptionists asked if Im ok without my glasses. I replied that since Ill be sitting in the office during the procedure that Id be fine. She then tells me that the coating takes *five to seven days*! No where on the email does it give this information, and whoever I talked to on the phone to make the appointment said *nothing* regarding what the procedure would involve, much less that I needed to bring a spare pair of glasses so I could drive! I took time off from work to honor this appointment, which was a complete waste of my time. I had no choice but to walk out, furious at such poor service.Gottlieb Optometry has lost my business.

Nice office, selection of glasses was nice, not a kid friendly place, & customer service was not great.... phone convo with one of the gentlemen was like he was annoyed with what I was asking... usually you get the younger workers with attitude, but the older ones are just as bad... cuz they feel like they dont have time for the paying customer or BS. Was my first time there, just to pick out a frame and lenses... but will not be going back to take the kiddos. As far as the physician, i didnt meet them, so cant say anything about them....

Highly recommend Dr Petit. His chairdide demeanor is just what I need when slightly nervous for eye exam, and he is a good listener, too. I love that he uses numbing drops and waits for my eyes to be numb, prior to testing the pressure in my eyes. His entire staff is very efficient and very attentive to details. Exam rooms kept meticulously clean, and disinfected between patients. I drive all the way from Costa Mesa to see him in Lakewood location. So very pleased.

I see there are a lot of stars given so maybe my visit was a fluke. First of all it ended up taking over a month for my glasses not a huge order either, just one pair of progressives. The order was lost then found then who knows. And after all this they don’t even fit right but I was just so sick of going back!! The only thing they offered for the inconvenience is $70 off my next pair well that’s most likely not going to happen.

I bought sunglasses through Dr. Gottliebs office and they ordered the wrong lenses. They treated me like I was an idiot and there is only one kind of lens in the world. I took the glasses back three times and they never fixed them. They pretended to change them, but did nothing the two times. The last time they tinted the lenses so dark that it feels like night time. I would not purchase glasses from this office.

I cant say enough about the whole staff at Dr. Gottliebs office. Starting with Larry and Donald throughout all the employees. I have been seeing Dr. Gottlieb for over 15 years. He has always been professional and looked out for my best interests. Larry tried to fit me with contact lenses and wouldnt give up. I know this was a great cost to him with repeated appointments and new products. He even had Donald try, but I am a hard case so took a breather. Years later, we tried a new product, but I have to commend Dr. Hoang for realizing it just wouldnt work. Again, I know Larry took a beating, but he wanted to try and accomplish my goal of not having to wear glasses. Last year, I opted for PRK in my worst eye at NVision Eye Centers, who are also great. I had complications, and dropped in Dr. Gottliebs office at the end of the day. Dr. Lee saw me immediately, diagnosed the problem and initiated a course of action. I credit her with saving my eye. In closing, I cant help mention the office staff with Stephen and Jason, as well as the receptionists. They are the best and I refer all my friends to Dr. Gottliebs office for their eye needs.

Went in for an on going blurry right eye problem and walked out with instructions on how put rice in a sock and put it in the microwave and then put it on my eye for 5 minutes. All Dr. Gottelieb did was flash a light in my eye.I dont have eye insurance so I had to pay $100 for a 10 minute visit only to leave with rice advice.It sucks because an eye exam cost around $100, not a flashlight inspection as if you are a a security guard.Anyway, I went to another Doctor and she actually gave me an eye exam as well as observing possible other causes and guess what??? I needed glasses! I am now blurry free in my eye.

Ive always liked coming here for the past 4 years as the service and prices were always great. My VSP insurance covers a majority of the cost for the visits, frames and lenses every time. This time post LASIK, I went to get blue light glasses and the pricing felt off. The Nike 8045 076 frame was $300... I can believe it for designer frames but usually Nike, Ray Bans and Oakleys are within the $100-250 range. I went online to find the frame to be around $130 anywhere else. I will never buy anything from this place again.

Only reason why I even come here is for the doctors, they are wonderful. How ever the staff here is T R A S H H! THEY ARE EXTREMELY RUDE AND MISINFORM YOU. THEY ALWAY DO THAT TO ME WHERE THEY SAY ONE THING OVER THE PHONE AND WHEN YOU SHOW UP ITS ANOTHER. I HATE THAT THE DOCTORS ARE SOO GOOD HERE, BUT THIS IS LAST TIME I EVER COME BACK HERE. Worst place to go. Staff is careless and dont care about customer. Staff dont even have information about the insurance. I use my davis vision insurance and the person dont know how to bill for lens and they told me to either wait or take refund. I wait for 1 month and no answer and finally I took refund. It feels like staff dont know anything. Dont waste time at this place very unprofessional behaviour.

I do not like the pay first policy. You should collect from the insurance companys first and then bill your customers. Customers should not have to pay up front if you accept their insurance policies. Just my thought.
