I recently got glasses for the first time and BOY DID I NEED THEM! I was very impressed with how friendly and informative the staff was and that Dr. Almaraz was so clear in explaining everything. I felt very comfortable the whole time.On top of just excellent care, the staff worked extra hard with me to get me the best product possible without going over my insurance. NOW THAT WAS AMAZING!!! I was recommended to see Dr. Almaraz from some very happy customers and now I am the one recommending :)
Dr. Saidi and his staff are very professional and honest. The best part about him is he takes the time to explain things, even if nothing is wrong. Great knowledge and explanation of anatomy and physiology of the eye. I am also considering lasik eye surgery in the future, and he was able to answer my questions about this procedure.
We use Dr. Almaraz for our whole family and have been very happy. He takes the time to explain multiple options for treatment in an informative, no-pressure type of way. Were delighted he accepts VSP so our son (who is on Healthy Families) can see him as well.UPDATE: Dr Almarazs practice has been taken over by Dr. Saidi, who is also great. :DUpdated 2023: Still very happy with Dr. Said and his staff 🙂
Dr. Almaraz and his staff are courteous, professional, kind, and extremely helpful. Whenever I have visited his office, Dr. Almaraz and his staff have always taken the time to explain what was going on and what my options were. I very much appreciate their professionalism and excellent service. Its so nice to have a doctors appointment be something so stress free.
I have received excellent eye care over the years and more as they are concerned about my whole health. I never feel hurried or like I am being processed. Every procedure, every test and all parts of the exam are explained in detail. They always take time to answer any questions or concerns raised. I feel like I family. Very professional and yet warm and friendly. Thanks to everyone!
First off, we called ahead of time earlier this morning about putting in some screws on my friends new frames. They told us it was a courtesy repair for todays visit. We go in and waited 20-30 mins for a simple fix. The lady came back from the back and was rude, she misgenders us, says okay ladies, or guys, whatever. That will be five bucks. My friend and I had not brought anything for an out of pocket pay because we were told we didnt need to for todays visit. She then waves her hand at us and said just go. Staffing was unprofessional and we wont be coming back.
I am very happy with Dr. Almaraz and his staff. Everyone is very friendly and I love getting reminder calls reminding me of my upcoming appointment.Also, I have a chronic condition that requires some special knowledge. Dr Almaraz was on top of it on my first visit. I was surprised and very pleased that was knowledgeable of how to treat me.I have visited other eye Docs but kept being told the my problem had nothing to do with my condition! However, I now have relief and I am grateful to Dr. Almaraz for not only listening to me but solving my eye problem.Thanks, Dr. Almaraz
Fast friendly service. Dr. Alamaraz is so knowledgeable. He is very patient and kind. He has worked very hard to improve my dry eye condition. His staff is so friendly. They all make you feel very comfortable. I wouldn’t think of trusting any one else with my eyes.
My son had an urgent eye issue right before Thanksgiving. We called Dr. Saidis office and my son was seen and examined on the same day. Dr. Saidi was very professional, patient, informative, and resourceful, with great knowledge in his expertise. He also explained everything to us so well! Encouraged by it, I scheduled my own eye examination with Dr. Saidi to get contact lenses, which I always wanted but dreaded for the longest time. lol Now Im enjoying the convenience of wearing contact lenses comfortably every day. :) We are grateful!
This is in regards to a previous post that was made today (9/20/22). I was waiting in the lobby to have my glasses adjusted while these 2 other people were in there. I waiting maybe 10 minutes. In that time, these 2 people were chatting to each other and were using vulgar language. Very rude. Christy, who works in Dr. Saudi’s office was repairing a pair of glasses that they brought in. When she was finished, she told them it would be $5.00 charge since they weren’t customers. (Seemed fair to me) the one customer said they didn’t have $5.00 on them so Christy said “ok, then just go ahead” as in, take the glasses and leave. She was in no way rude. Christy and the entire staff at this office are amazing!!!
Dr. Almaraz and his staff are very welcoming and professional! The out of pocket cost is also very reasonable considering the exceptional care i received. My entire family uses his services,and i will recommended them to any who ask and some that dont.
I have been to Dr. Almarazs office several times. Staff is friendly and helpful. This was the first time I bought glasses from them as the VA provided them in the past. Chris (sp) was very helpful and made my day. Thank you all Bob Godfrey
Dr is very thorough and professional. However my glasses came in 4 days before I called to check on status. Second call no follow up. This is a little disappointing since my old glasses had fallen apart.
Very nice and curtious. Fixed a problem with my glasses which took a few minutes. My dr is in Riverside. Saved me 3 hr. round trip and $40.00 in gas. They didnt have to help me but did anyway. Speaks volumes about this office.
The staff at Dr. Almerez’s office are all wonderful and Dr. Almarez is very attentive to the health of my eyes and the glasses that I need to be able to enjoy the world around me. I love my new every day glasses and my computer glasses. I am able to see everything very clearly without any eye strain.
I have been coming to see Dr. Almaraz for a long time, and now Dr. Sadie. They are both wonderful, caring doctors who do not rush you through the process and are very thorough. We are fortunate to have them in this small mountain community.
I am a part time resident of a small community in the San Bernardino mountains. During a weeklong stay, I noticed that one nose pad had come off my eyeglasses. I googled, “eyeglasses near me” and went to this office in Big Bear. How wonderful the service was!!! Lovely greeting by the receptionist/scheduler who immediately told me they could help, even though I had just dropped in and wasn’t a regular client. The optical technician replaced BOTH nose pads and then re-fitted my frames to ensure that the progressive prescription lenses were correctly positioned. When I asked how I could pay, I was told to have a great day and to come back if further help was needed! Lovely experience. Maybe I need to transfer my future eyeglass needs to my part time San Bernardino mountain home! Thank you all so very much!
I hate leaving negative reviews, especially on local businesses. However I am very disappointed. I had an appointment but the office canceled my appointment, (yes I confirmed thru txt message and can provide proof,) and filled it without notify me. I scheduled this appointment 3-4 weeks out because of how busy the office is. Cindy was not very helpful in trying to fix the mistake nor did she try to reschedule me in. Her response was unprofessional.
I have been suffering with dry eyes for years! I was also very interested in using contact lenses but never even thought it would be possible because of my dry eyes.I met with Dr. Almaraz and he immediately made me feel like I was in good hands. After a thorough examination he prescribed some medication and it worked!!! I am currently getting fitted for contact lenses. Dr. Saidi (who now sees most of the clients) completely changed my life by fitting me with Sclarel Lenses, which I never even knew existed. After 30 years of wearing uncomfortable contacts that damaged my eyes, he immediately guided me through a process to allow my eyes to heal as much as they could and then get me the Sclarel Lenses that allow me to see slightly better than 20/20, which is a miracle. I have extreme near sightedness and fairly extreme astigmatism which is too much for Lasik. My old contacts used to turn in my eyes constantly and my vision changed constantly with them. My eyes were always irritated and red. Now, I can actually read the signs on the freeway when I drive and my eyes are rarely red or irritated. It is always a pleasure to visit this office. None of the other eye doctors I visited ever commented on the health of my eyes or even told me about Sclarel Lenses. I reccommend that you ask Dr. Saidi about them. These lenses and Dr. Saidi have transformed my life.

I just moved up here from San Diego and my glasses broke it was a cheap pair and I had tried to fix them all rigged with a spring and duck tape being broke as hell. And the lovely ladies in the front at this doctors office for optometry fixed my glasses for me which was a huge deal for me even taking out the rigged spring and duck tape and replacing the screw which I had lost at no charge for me it was defentify the kindest act I have seen yet in big bear. Dr. Mike was very knowledgeable and extremely thorough. They got me in within 5 minutes of calling. $45 for an emergency visit, even though they vary, still awesome. Wouldnt go anywhere else and totally recommend to anyone looking.

I was pretty nervous during my appointment, but they all made me feel welcome and everyone was so professional and nice! I feel like he really listened to my concerns and tried multiple tests to ensure I was given the right prescription. I am terrible with names, so I apologize, but the lady who helps you pick your glasses was so friendly and honest, she helped me pick a pair of glasses that fit my face comfortably and that were fashionable. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new optometrist.

The staff and Dr. Saidi managed to squeeze me in so I wouldnt have to come back again the next day! And, I believe they all sacrificed part of their lunch times to accommodate me. This is above and beyond, and an example of the best care for their patients.

I am happily seeing far and near, clearly. I must also give a shout out to his team. 2023-05-19 06:19:00This was the most professional and nicest place I have ever visited.The woman that answered the phone at the front desk was super sweet from minute one, not mean and snippy like most places. They had no appts available but she seemed concerned and said they would fit me in, which they did, quickly even.Im one of the last few people that wear a mask and she immediately said no problem they would wear theirs too. The minute she saw me walk in she quickly put hers on. She made sure the doctor wore one for me and he had no problem with it.Once i was in the room, she came back to tell me he would be in in 5 minutes which never happens, and he was in in probably two minutes. He was apologetic I had to wait so long and I felt like I barely waited at all unlike places where you wait for an hour WITH an appointment.He was super knowledgable, nice, answered all of my crazy questions, super thorough, great guy!The place was nice, clean, etc...I had already thought that if scratches were found on my eye in question I would want him to check the other eye for comparison, and I pictured what a potential issue that would probably be (before I called the place and knew they were nice that is) but he immediately said I want to check your other eye for comparison without me saying anything!This is the first time I walked out of a place and felt like I was in good hands and actually taken care of and could stop worrying.The other woman that checked me out and made my next appointment saw me and instantly put her mask on and was super nice and sweet too.I paid out of pocket and it was super affordable.Everything was 100% flawless!I wish he could be my primary caregiver too! lol
