Hello My name is Rafael and I recently had a Gastric Sleeve Surgery for weight loss performed by Dr. D on January 22nd if 2024.. Dr D is confident and also humble and is a top notch Surgeon I was blessed to have him cross my path.. He attention to detail and genuine empathy before and after surgery was excellent!! He really cares about his patients!!. Since my Surgery I have lost 84 lbs I have reversed all of comorbidities. His after care is above and beyond exceptional!. Also everyone on his staff at L. I had my first appt. With Dr. D in October.He recommended the sleeve for me considering my weight and height. He was extremely thourough and explained every single detail step by step. He showed me photos, and was a really great energy. The day of surgery, he came in and talked with me. Right after I woke up he was also there. He was very attaentive and kind. He also fixed a hernia I had no idea about while I was under. I have 0 side effects, no pain. I took this surgery with ease, and my results are killer. 100lbs down & not even a year out!!! Thank you SO much to the doctor and his amazing team. I would highly highly recommend this place! ❤️

Doctor Doriswamy is an excellent choice. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. He performed the gastric sleeve surgery on me in May 2023 and have had excellent results with no issues at all. I recommend him to all. Great staff at his office as well.

I was 100% satisfied with the care I received from Dr.Doraiswamy. Having to have a large hiatal hernia repaired plus a 270 degree tie on my esophagus, I was beyond nervous. When I first met Dr.Doraiswamy he had a very refreshing attitude. He was very laid back and relaxed, beyond confident of this major surgery I was having. I felt safe and comfortable. I had a feeling of choking every time I ate, so this surgery was much needed. Although the prep work and tests were uncomfortable before surgery, I was confident about the doctor I chose for my surgery. When my surgery day came, Asok was there with the same composed and chill attitude. I was ready to go. Before I knew it I was in the recovery room and starting to heal. My pain was high but I had the meds to cope. I just couldn’t understand why my choking feeling was worse. Dr.Asok talked with me soon after surgery and informed me that the surgery had inflamed my esophagus and it would only be getting better soon. As months past and I continued to take my extra strength Pepcid, my throat did get better. Asok said I had a lot of scar tissue from suffering from acid reflux for years. He informed me at the beginning it might never be perfect, but it will be substantially better. Im happy to report months after that he was exactly right . My throat is near perfect except times when I eat junk food. Examples include fried foods and sugary desserts. Overall I am extremely happy with the results of my surgery and I will be forever grateful for Dr. Doraiswamy’s expertise as a doctor. I would advise anyone with a similar situation and needing surgery to see Dr.Doraiswamy. Thanks

So, Ive kind of hesitated to put this info out there because I dont want to paint an unrealistic picture because no person or medical provider is perfect but I do believe in giving props and showing appreciation where due.Dr. D. performed my surgery (Laproscopic VSG, small hernia repair and gall bladder removal) earlier this year on 1/30/23. The initial surgery went well with no complications. A few weeks into recovery I started to have some issues with electrolyte imbalances and issues with progressing my diet, etc. that I am still working through currently. Needless to say it has not been as smooth a path of recovery as Id hoped for but Dr. D has been my biggest support and help in terms of medical providers involved in helping me get through this, even more so than my PCP. Every referral and test (aside from most of those done when Ive gone to the the ER) to investigate what has been going on with me has been through his authorization. He has taken my concerns and issues seriously and done what is necessary to investigate all in the interest of making sure that are no serious complications or problems as a result of the surgery. Hes also put up with my tl;dr emails and anxiety, which I know can be a bit much and isnt ruffled by it but amused.Dr. D. is a very good surgeon and a good, kind, empathetic and patient person. He also has a good sense of humor and is a positive person. I really thank God for him. Hes a busy man, the Medical Director of Huntingtons Bariatric Surgery Department (which I had no idea about at the time when I was referred to him) in addition to his own surgical practice and he responds to my emails when he can and goes above and beyond. I couldnt imagine going through all of this without his support and I do NOT take that for granted as Im sure most people know, finding a good medical provider with this mix of qualities can be like gold. I didnt even vet him as a provider like I normally do initially. I have found out through this process what a great doctor I ended up with from jump.His office staff are also very professional, courteous and patient people. I put the surgery scheduler Emerald through the ringer with multiple reschedules when I was dragging my feet before surgery (to the point where Dr. D. wondered if wed every make it to the actual surgery 😅). Dr. Doraswami handled my complex abdominal surgery like a champ!His office is easy to work with and stream lines the process to Surgery.I’ve lost 110 pounds in six months following the diet and exercise plan the doctor developed for me, and I couldn’t be happier! Short version of a long review:Dr. Doraiswamy saved my life. He performed emergency surgery 5 months ago and spotted a possible abnormality and referred me to a specialist.The specialist discovered, tested and diagnosed me with cancer. Dr. Doraiswamy removed the tumor immediately, put me back together, after complications presented themselves in the middle of surgery.Im undergoing chemotherapy and on my road back to recovery. I am not sure what I did to deserve such a blessed personas Dr. Doraiswamy, but I thank God every day. I would trust Dr. Doraiswamy with the lives of all my family members.His office staff members are courteous, professional, and respond quickly. (Clearly hand selected)

I have worked in Healthcare for 28 years and have met and seen a lot of doctors. Dr. Doraiswamy was an amazing doctor when I needed to have a large hernia removed that was causing me multiple hospitalizations. Dr. Doraiswamys staff gave me his email when I got information he needed, and to my surprise the Doctor, responded to the email. It made me feel very comfortable being able to email him with questions about what was going to happen. His staff was able to arrange with my insurance to have my surgery much sooner then I expected. Everything went great and I am now on my way to a healthier life! I would recommend Dr. D to everyone if they needed a good surgeon.

Dr. Doraiswamy was my surgeon for my gastric bypass surgery. Im now 9 months post surgery and words cannot describe how pleased I am with the results Ive had!At my heaviest I was 272 lbs. I was miserable being overweight and had extreme knee pain that was disabling my quality of life. I carefully researched a surgeon because I wanted to make sure I was in good hands. I was pretty nervous about choosing surgery as a weight loss solution and was terrified of having complications during or after surgery. Im so glad I chose Dr. Doraiswamy. Throughout my pre surgery appointments he was very informative, compassionate and truly cared about what would be best for my specific health issues and my overall well being, especially long term. He helped me to fully understand the pros and cons of different options that were available. Him and his staff were always professional and polite. He had superb bedside manor which I truly appreciated because I was stressed, nervous and even scared at times. His calm and patient demeanor helped me to be rest assured that everything was going to be okay.Thankfully, due to a successful surgery performed by Dr. Doraiswamy, I have not had any complications. That was probably my biggest fear due to all the stories Ive heard or read about. Even my sister had the same surgery a few years ago, by a different surgeon, and she had terrible complications which resulted in the need of 2 further surgeries to correct the problems.Its now 9 months since I had gastric bypass surgery and Ive lost 107 lbs! Im down to 165 and I feel great! For the first time in a very, very long time I feel like myself again. I feel like I have my life back. Dr Doraiswamy saved my life. He performed surgery on my diverticulitis on a moment notice. He did a wonderful job, from the time I saw him and he talked to me about the procedure he was gonna perform on me. He put me at ease with his calm and comforting demeanor. There was a lot of damage on my part but he fixed me as good as one can do. After the surgery his daily visit and care and the detail he paid attention to me was reassuring to me and my family. I loved the encouragement and advice he often gave me. Also the detail he went to answering all my concerns and questions I had. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for having Dr. Doraiswamy as my surgeon. He saved my life! I was diagnosed with a rare disease called Achalasia, 1 in 100,000 people have it and I so happen to be one of them. Due to Achalasia, I couldnt eat nor swallow liquids, constantly thrown up and choked during the night on my own saliva. Therefore I lost over 40lbs. I prayed and prayed for this surgery to be done and was blessed to have him be the one to do my surgery. I had a heller myotomy done. I was scared and nervous as I have never gotten surgery before and he assured me that everything will be alright as well as walked me through the process and recovery. After the surgery Dr. Doraiswamy checked in on me everyday before he went to work for 5 days while I was at Methodist Hospital. Not only is he a wonderful surgeon but also the most humble individual in health care I know. And yes, my surgery was a total SUCCESS!!! I can now eat and swallow liquids without any difficulty and have been able to get a full nights rest. I have already gained 6lbs as well! AND you cannot even see my incisions from the surgery which is a BONUS!So If you are in search of a great trustworthy surgeon, I recommend you turn to Dr. Asok Doraiswamy, you wont regret it!

Dr. Doraiswamy and Dr. Manchandia performed Laparoscopy surgery for my emergency diverticulitis on January 24, 2018 I was very scared and didnt know what the outcome would be Dr. Doraiswamy explained my diagnosis and the outcome of my first surgery I had a very bad infected diverticulitis the surgery took care of the infection. Dr. Doraiswamy was very informative of how important my next surgery needed to be. I had my second surgery Larascopic sigmoid resection on April 4, 2018 both Dr. Doraiswamy and Dr. Manchandia are very professional and caring both my surgeries were successful. This rating is for Dr. Kris Karan Manchandia, he is a provider at this office. Ive given 5 stars (the highest Im allowed), but he deserves 10 stars! Dr. Manchandia did my umbilical hernia repair surgery. I could not have had a better experience under these circumstances. He is professional, knowledgeable, approachable, kind, and gentle. He is a model of what every medical doctor should be. In addition, staff at this office is friendly, professional, and dont over book appointments. Dr. kept his appointments on time. I didnt have to wait to be seen. He actually sat down and dedicated enough TIME to talk with me. He never made me feel rushed! Dr. always greeted me with a hand shake. He explained in a way I could understand before and after the procedure. He read and explained my ultrasound results, examined me before and after, asked questions, and answered all my questions. Dr Doraiswamy saved my fathers life from severe sepsis due to a colon obstruction. Furthermore, he went above and beyond his surgical duties. If you need abdominal or bariatric surgery, THIS is the doctor you want! I was referred to Dr. Doraiswamy by my GP, the wonderful Dr. Alice Lacy; theyre in the same building. I was skeptical at first, thinking she referred mainly for the convenience of me only having to go up 5 floors. I shouldve known better: Alice ALWAYS knows what shes talking about!And again, she was right on the money with this recommendation. Dr. Doraiswamy had been in a group for many years, and several months ago established his own practice. His office is very appealing, neat and clean, and his office staff friendly and accomodating. Debbie got me over my jitters right away, and I got to meet with the doc in short order. I found him -- and still find him -- to be friendly, caring, sympathetic, and VERY knowledgable: everything you want in a doctor. AND Ive never had to wait for more than 10 minutes to see him, as the office is well run.Turns out I had an inguinal hernia, with some complications: it was in a not so nice place, AND I wasnt allowed to stop taking my blood thinner, which meant a much tougher job for the doctor. He actually asked me if it was OK to place a camera first via laparascopy so he could really check out what was going on inside me. Most doctors would simply do this and not even consider asking first. That should give you a clue how thoughtful this man is.And yes, he did get the camera in, saw what he needed to see, then fixed everything up old school and still kept the wound to a minimum while also keeping blood loss down as well -- the medical equivalent of juggling or plate-spinning. Im 2 weeks out now, the pain is almost gone, the wound is healing very nicely, and Im back on the road!I would trust this guy with anything thats even close to his specialties of abdominal surgery, minimally invasive general surgery and bariatric surgery.

I did lots of research before choosing Dr Doraiswamy (believe me, Im an RN and I dont just let any dr operate on me!) I am so glad I chose him! He is so caring, so approachable, and so REACHABLE - I had a problem with my fluid intake which meant I was feeling pretty poorly. I called his office, who said they would let him know to call me. Literally 2 minutes later he called me FROM THE O.R. - he actually put me first before starting a case! He sent me off to get some IV fluids which helped tremendously. He also called back immediately when I rang him from the E.R. with a question about a CT scan. He explained WHY one of my ports hurt more than the others (he explained that after removing my stomach through the port he then oversewed that area to prevent a hernia developing in the future) which all makes sense and makes coping with the pain easier. He gave me pictures of what he had done and showed me where my hiatal hernia was and how he repaired it - all fascinating stuff and greatly increases confidence in this wonderful surgeon! Seriously, if you need Bariatric Surgery - YOU JUST FOUND YOUR SURGEON! a slimmer you is just around the corner!
