Paid $760 for a Genie 2028B Opener installed (after using a 10% off coupon). The opener goes for $199.00 online and comes with additional openers and stuff... So I paid over $500.00 for an install that took maybe an hour. The install is requiring a second trip out because the door is not closing all the way and is slightly open at the top.My fault. Trusted what seems to be a good reputation and did no research before I was paying a huge bill for a base model product with no bells and whistles... Dealing with taking time out of my busy day for a return trip.Tech was nice. Seemed to do clean work. Setting the second trip out was fine. Much less friendly than they were when I set up the first call.I wish I would have done research.YOU WILL LIKELY FIND A HUGE SAVINGS DOING YOUR RESEARCH.I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS COMPANY. i GOT RIPPED OFF!

Door Dorks are one of the most honest companies I have done business with for our home. I received another quote from a garage door co for $800/$1300 and this co just $137 !! Nathan fixed everything the door needed and was very nice and professional explaining everything. This type of honesty and integrity is hard to find !! I had an excellent experience with door dorks in the past 20 hours. First their front desk person was very helpful and went the supervisors were not available, she gave me the manufacturers help line. When that didn’t work she quickly booked me an appointment for first thing the next morning. A confirmation text was sent this morning with a photo of the technician, Nathan Casey and he called me when he was 15 minutes away and even asked if that was okay. When he arrived, Nathan was extremely kind and his depth of knowledge of his field of expertise was quickly on display. He was patient, explained every step and provided tips for how to care for the door over time. He replaced our wall panel and provided a maintenance service to the door, which has it operating much quieter. A few hours after he left, I called him because I realized the remote in my car was not communicating. He quickly called me back and was very friendly, walking me through how to reconnect the remote via the wall panel. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXPERTISE. I won’t hesitate to call the door dorks again in the future, and I hope we get Nathan. Thanks DOOR DORKS!

7/1/24: Update - My old wood garage door was in need of an update and so, of course, I called Door Dorks and I can’t be happier! My existing wood door was an odd size and Gina measured, used creative thinking, and found me a perfect door. Matt did a flawless install, very professional, and I’m very pleased. Very fair price and no upselling for things I don’t need. Update:Adam came back when I needed a new motor after my old 20 year old motor stopped working. He performed his magic and the motor was installed in a short time with absolutely perfect results. if you ever have any door or motor issues don’t hesitate to call Door Dorks they do an excellent job.Adam came quickly and worked very efficiently to fix and adjust my garage door. Over the years I have used them, my experience with Door Dorks has alway been excellent. This time office staff tried to help me trouble shoot my problem over the phone. I had a coupler break on a Friday afternoon, leaving my garage door half open. Initially, Gina told me she needed a work order from my hoa, but after some discussion, she said that she would dispatch a tech right away, and sort out the billing details with my hoa later. Excellent new & recent installation. Professional installers were terrific. They suggested to be notified if a problem arosed. I do have a problem with the garage door opener light. It is on 100% of the time. Ive unplugged the motor, but the light still wont go out. Ive had to unplug the light to shut it off. Additionally, the motor start up is a little sluggish. Im wondering if that is normal opener operation.Ive searched your complete website, but could not find a complaint posting location. So Ive had to utilize your Review window to communicate with you, sorry about that.

I had a service request fulfilled today by Door Dorks.I had a garage door that had stopped lifting and would start making a loud clicking noise - very obvious that the lifting system was inoperative, and the door itself was heavy to lift.I will say that this is one of the best experiences that I had with an in-person visit. So during a reno I bummed into the garage door and dented a panel. I called Door Dorks, and they scheduled me right away. The tech, Adam, was super-communicative (reaching out when he thought he could be there early and coordinating with me so that neither person was waiting and was excellent at managing my expectations.)We didn’t want to invest a lot in the repair since replacing the door and motor (in a couple months) are a planned part of this reno just at a later phase.Adam was knowledgeable about what needed to be done to keep the door functioning for that amount of time and was upfront about what he wasn’t recommending at this time (because he knew we were upgrading soon).He explained what needed to be done and showed me what the cost of labor and minimal part would be which was totally reasonable.It’s nice in this day and age to work with a small, local business and to receive good, personal service from people who want to help you and are patient with your questions and manage your expectations. Over the past two decades I have used a couple different garage door companies to do some repairs. Two weeks ago, after hearing my garage door sound like it was finally going to fall off the hinges, I reached out to the two companies I had used and for what ever reason I just did not get the warm and fuzzies so I did not follow up with them to come to my house. Then one day while driving down the street crossing over the 15 freeway while exiting the 78 east freeway I pulled up beside this ugly looking yellow truck Yep, you guessed it--Door Dorks so I gave them a ring and very glad I did. The other companies were good but Door Dork just took their service to a new level. They were personable to a fault and in a very trusting manner. I felt confidence in them that I was in good hands and and could trust them. Now, two weeks later, everything I experienced is correct. There are lots of good companies out there doing work for the public. Just know you can trust Door Dorks for a personal qualified, professional, service and be happy you did. I sure am. Everything went like clockwork. Adam called and texted that he was on his way. He arrived on-time and diagnosed the issue quickly. One of the garage door spools was would incorrectly. Thank you Door Dorks crew for an incredible job on my Garage Doors in Encinitas! I had some 36-yr old heavy wooden doors and we replaced them with black matte steel frame with translucent glass windows. Gina was a pleasure to work with and came out to assess the old doors and to take measurements. She also made a great recommendation - side mount motors to free up the ceiling and apparently it is better torque for the same amount of money. Also, we were able to raise the garage door by several inches, allowing me to open my car trunk so I dont hit my head on it :) These details really made the process worth the 8-week wait for these doors (yes it does take awhile to order custom doors). When Alfonso and the crew came to install, they were very efficient and professional and had everything swapped out in 1 day. The doors work so smooth and flawlessly and the the seal is better than I expected. I also love the light inside the garage, it is a wonderfully bright space now and (before it was so dark it had to be lit up even during the day with cheap fluorescent lighting). I would highly recommend door dorks and I am using them again for another set of doors later this year. Door Dorks recently replaced the old Liftmaster garage door opener and springs on my garage. Their technician, Adam, spent hours carefully cutting around the sheetrock the drywallers had installed over and around the old track and springs. The new lifter is so much quieter than the old one--its almost completely silent.

Door Dorks provided the most professional customer service I have encountered among service oriented companies in a long, long time. They promptly responded to messages left on their office phone; set precise appointment times; contacted me if they were running early or late; and when they were at my home, they were courteous and knowledgeable, and they explained details of the work they were performing. They also provided various options without pushing a buy the most expensive option agenda. They ended up replacing and/or fixing a number of parts on our custom garage door. When an issue arose with the garage door shortly after performing their work, they responded promptly and responsibly to fix the issue. I highly recommend Door Dorks!

Review for service provided 5/10/21I had my door, motor and all included accessories fully replaced, the motor unit was stamped 1995, and according to the old listing from when I bought my house, the door itself was about 9 or 10 years old at time of replacing.John was awesome, he spent the whole day at my house doing the removal and installation of everything by himself, even had to do some modifications to the frame of the actual garage opening because the previous installation was poorly done; thats been par for the course with this home, unfortunately.Im amazed with the quality of the products, even though I went with the cheapest options that were offered, and the installation is top notch.Door Dorks wasnt the cheapest company I got a quote from, but for such an important part of my home, (I know its a rarity in SoCal, but we have a two car garage and both my girlfriend and I park inside of it) I was okay with spending a couple hundred more to get something better than what others offered.Extra shout outs to Gina for helping over the phone with getting everything coordinated and helping answer questions I had, as well as Matt and Aaron, who had come out to do an inspection and repair some things with the old door back in early March.

Our garage door broke on a Friday night and by 10:30am on Saturday it was fixed! We waited until Saturday morning to call and Dorian took our info and dispatched Matt to fix or for. Door Dorks is the place to call when your garage is acting wonky. They showed up early and left quickly. John Strunk was awesome. Very nice man. Worked diligently and knew his stuff. This is the second time I have used their service. My wheel popped off the track and come to find the wheel was warped and whoever put the door in had put it in badly. The motor was crooked and the censors were not even on the track and one of the wheels was inserted incorrectly. John thank you!!

Today was no exception, my spring broke on my garage door while my car was inside. Within one hour John was at my house ready to fix my problem! Driving out of my neighborhood today. In Garden Road Poway, the Door Dork truck drove straight through a 4-way stop, like the stop sign wasnt even there (30+mph). I slammed on my brakes and horn simultaneously, and the passenger in the car flipped me off. Then they proceeded to drive 55-60 mph through a SCHOOL ZONE, right past Garden Road Elementary in the MORNING WHEN CHILDREN ARE BEING DROPPED OFF! They got up ahead and drove into the Sycamore Creek Housing development, N Sycamore Valley Road, East Hidden Valley Drive, North Quiet Hills Drive. I called and spoke to Leah on the phone, who was very apologetic, and stated that she would speak with her supervisor. I hope you will hold your drivers and passengers accountable. I will be advising all our neighbors and friends to be careful doing business with you because of the completely dangerous way your staff operate your vehicles in our neighborhoods. And the completely distasteful and disrespectful way that your 2 employees conducted themselves today.

Our spring broke on our Wayne Dalton overhead door. I called on a Friday morning and they had a technician at our house in the afternoon. Great communication and very friendly service. We received a conversion kit to make it a standard spring and the job was done in about 30 minutes. Decent price and a quality install. Highly recommend Door Dorks.
