Our favorite park. It’s perfect for little ones and has lots of grassy areas for playing and flying kites. Right in the center of a beautiful neighborhood and somewhat enclosed so I feel safer letting the kids run around. But parking is limited.

This is a great park to take my kids, specifically bcuz of the playground. It has a pretty large playground. Plenty of things for my kids to play on and keep themselves busy. It does get kinda busy here. A lot of people coming and going all day long. They have bathrooms that are fairly clean and decent. There are also plenty of picnic tables. The only negative aspect of this park, which is very minor, is that its right next to the 605 fwy so coming here to find peace and quiet like you can at other parks is out of the question, but its doesnt keep me from coming back.

The park has a huge playground, big enough that on a crowded Sunday afternoon, there was plenty of room for kids to spread out. The restrooms could be a bit cleaner, but perhaps thats the result of a busy weekend.

They have changed this park and made the playground a lot bigger! My kids love to come to this park now since they re did it. The one thing I dont really like is they close the parking lot at 5pm on the weekends. Which means you need to find parking on the street And there is only one street to park on or you’ll have to park over by the Golden corral and walk over.

I realized it was dark and looked up and saw two people standing at the gate and as soon as I got to the gate they ran to their car and left. It was 6:35, and the park had just closed.I had to get out of the car to open the gate, it was so heavy that it ran over my big toe of my right foot . The guy cleaning came up and said they werent supposed to leave until the last car left.

I actually used to go to this park back in the 1980s when it had the old Castle.We had taken my son to the park and was pleasantly surprised with the new play equipment.The equipment is either new or well taken care of. The only real complaint is the material used to act as padding was showing some signs of age.Other than that, the park felt safe, and the fact that it is fenced in was a bit of a relief so that there is enough to catch your child if they are an eloper.

I have been coming here lately. It is always peaceful here.Is a park is big enough to run around. Its confined and only has one actual entrance and exit.Theres benches to sit and theres restrooms available.Just be careful at night, theres signs that say coyotes linger at night.

Parking is not a plus here. Would hate to live on the street that enters the park. Expect long delays parking if you come at the wrong time and illegal parking.

This is a popular place that families and all people enjoy. It gets especially crowded on the weekends in the morning and afternoon so parking in the lot is limited. If youre local, you can walk directly into the park. There is a lot of space for roaming and lots of beautiful trees to look at. There is a playground for children. Other activities include: dog walking, scootering, walking humans, soccer and anything else you like to do at parks. 😀 When the park closes (I think at 5 or 6), they lock parking access and close the gates.

Wow its been a long time since I came to this park. I use to come as a child when they had the castle playground. Good memories. Brought my daughter here so she can experience this park and wow this use to be a private park. Now everybody comes here. Parking was super packed. So many people and kids. I mean they have alot for kids to play with I wouldnt come here if you want more of a 1 on 1 with your child. Just saying....

Beautiful park with 4 different playgrounds for toddlers to pre-teens. We went fight before sunset and almost had the entire park to ourselves. Very peaceful and the surrounding neighborhood has beautiful houses to just cruise and look at

Nice park but it definitely lacks availability for parking, especially on weekends when you attend Birthday parties or reserve for that occasion. You will have to park in neighborhoods or at Ralphs and walk to the park. Take a wagon for sure!

A nice huge Park where toddlers can run around. They have three separate playgrounds according to age. I like it most because it sits on a pad-like foundation and not on Sand or wood chips that my toddler could put in her mouth. Its my favorite park by far.

Nice big park, the parking lot closes at 4:30 so dont park in the lot or you will be locked in.It has a lot of picnic tables and a lot of open space which I love. About 6 big kid swings and 4 baby swings. It has bathrooms and the whole park is pretty much gated except for where the parking lot is but its a good distance away from the playground so the kids can run pretty freely. Its a really good park overall. :)

The park is beautiful, the people not friendly. I understand they want to keep the park just for neighbors, but they didnt have to punk my baby. His hands were scraped and his hip bruised from the fall. He cried and was so sad that nobody wanted to play with him. If you are not from the neighborhood dont bother going.

I love this park and I take my kids there all the time. Since the pandemic started, thats the only place I take my kids and only during the weekend due to Distance Learning and work. Today, I was very disappointed. There were at least 5 adults and a bunch of kids NOT wearing masks. I have a 1 yr old that is NOT supposed to wear a mask, and these people were around the little lids play area, around little kids without a mask. The park has signs everywhere that a mask is REQUIRED. The worst is that the park workers were sitting in the golf cart in front of these people and they NEVER even attempted to approach these people and require for them to respect the rules and wear a mask or leave. They only approached them when I complained and said I was calling the Park and Recreations Department.Ive been doing everything possible to keep my family safe and healthy. I wear a mask all the time and other people should do the same for others, especially kids and the elderly.

This was my dogs first time here and he just had so much fun. He got to meet/interact with two other dogs. He seemed to enjoy himself. I know I will bring him back again. I took my dog here today and he was very happy to come back again.

My toddler loves it here and its fenced in so I worry less about him getting away from us, but of course hes never really more than 3 feet away at any time, its nice to know hes extra safe. There are areas for small kids up to big kids. Great for all ages.

Thi is a well maitained park & there is security there all the time . They dont bother anyone they sort of keep thier distance. The bathrooms R clean &well stocked... the park has a few areas for family get togethers & really nice playground gor little ones with lots of activities for them... we dont go that often.. But, it is a very nice clean & well maintained park.

Nice small little park next to the freeway. Stopped here to met a friend for lunch and it was the only place available to eat outside right now with Covid 19 restrictions. Its off the main road but you need to go through a small neighborhood to access parking into the place. Plenty of tables and benches with tons of shade.

The parking lot is away from the actualPlayground and I kept checking on my car. There were a lot more cars than people so I was a little wary.This playground has different equipment than the park on Rives Ave. The playground is connected and not separated like other parks. There is a toddler section, a big kid section but they are not separated nor fenced off, just a label to show age levels. They also have staff on premises and close at specific times.

My family with grandchildren aged 9 and 5, spent 3 days in Monterey. Dennis the Menace Park was one of the highlights for my grandsons! They loved the climbing structures! They happily played in the park for 2 hours while we adults watched them. The park is safe and very popular. There are bathrooms and drinking fountains. During the on season, the snack bar is open as well as paddle boat rentals.

Recently attended a birthday party here.Lots of room for kids to run and play. Bathrooms were ok.Park was clean. Only suggestion would be if you are having a party and rent the pavilion, bring trash bags and make sure staff empties out all trash cans before your party starts.

This is a really nice park, its right next to the 5 freeeway, but that doesnt cause as much noise as youd think. The park is slightly hidden at the end of a residential dead end street, parking is plentiful during the week and the park itself is very well maintained and clean. There is plenty of grass area to have a picnic, play a pickup game of soccer or football or to just relax and take a nap. They have a covered area with tables which would be perfect for a birthday party. They have a small set of swings for toddlers on its own patch of sand, although that sand seems to be infested with small winged insects that burrow there. I tend to stay away from there, which is a shame because I have a 2 year old and she loves swings. There is a larger playground area with plenty of slides and jungle gym sets to accommodate a large number of children. Overall, its is a great park to be enjoyed in a plethora of ways, just wish theyd tackle that insect infestation in the small sand area where the toddler swings are located.

Dennis the menace park has always been my favorite.its small a lot of shade no baseball diamonds or anything supports related its strictly for the familys and kids to play. Its lost most of its charm with the improvements they have made but its still my favorite.

We were there for hours with no restrooms we called the city and there were no response we called again and finally got a response they told us they were coming open them we waited for another 2 hours and still nothing then we called back again and they said they would get with the supervisors I gave them my name and my number and they never got back to me my guess had to use the restrooms at McDonalds😞

Great park but playing area needs more shade. The sun can be quite brutal on sunny days.
