I went in for an emergency for my cat and although the receptionist informed me they are typically appointment only, they still saw my cat. The vet and her assistants were incredibly helpful, kind and made sure I had every base covered for my fur baby before I left. They even showed me how to properly give her medicine! I would highly recommend Davies.

Great experience. My poodle mix became very ill very suddenly and she was tended to quickly and efficiently. My husband and I were treated with so much compassion while we cried about our baby not being okay. Their pricing is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than any I have received in/around Sacramento. The owner worked directly with our dog and with us and assured us in case of any future emergency to come in immediately and just give them a heads up on our way over. Can’t recommend enough. If any staff reads this we are bringing in donuts tomorrow for everyone when we bring in our big dog for his wellness exam!!!

I had to have my Gus euthanized this past Saturday. He was 13 1/2 and had bone cancer. The staff was so sincere and handled my pup with such care and gentleness. For such a horrible thing to have to go through they made it so peaceful for my baby and I really appreciated that

Davies Animal Hospital is amazing. I drive all the way from Chico because when my pup had a seizure, they were the only ones that offered to see him that day. When we got there, the doctor was super thorough. He explained everything extremely well. He did all the tests right then and there. When you love your pet like you love your children, having a good vet is vital. I highly recommend Davies Animal Hospital to anyone who has pets!

We had a great experience at Davies Animal Hospital. They were reasonably priced, and we were able to get our dog taken care of immediately.As an added bonus, my Sister was in town with her dog, who wasnt feeling well, and she was able to get in for an emergency visit and was happy with the visit.I will continue to take my pets there for all their needs.

The staff is very pleasant and accommodating, and the prices are acceptable. Plus apparently animals feel safe because my dog ( who barely lets Me touch him other than to play) allowed the doc to examine him. Davies is the only place Ill take my dog.

UPDATED in response to the owner 05/27/2024:I appreciate the prompt attention and seriousness with which this matter has been handled. I have been in communication with the adoptive mom, who shared the details of her conversation with your facility.Initially, it was believed that Shakespeare had heart disease due to the rapid onset and progression of symptoms. It seemed to have happened very quickly. Your facility needed to rule out as much as possible and didnt have time to make the heart diagnosis on Saturday, 05/18/2024.I have had several cats with heart problems over the years, and they lived for at least five to six months.The adoptive mom confirmed that the attending doctor provided excellent care, conducting tests for various diseases, all of which came back negative.My opinion is valid, regardless of whether I have met or spoken with you. It is my firm belief that things could have been handled differently with the heart disease diagnosis after Shakespeare passed away.Thank you for your time and swift response.Respectfully,Samaa (Sky)His loving adopted mom took Shakespeare to the vet on Saturday, 05/18/2024. Despite numerous tests and a significant amount of money spent, the attending vet, Preston Collins, claimed he couldnt find anything obviously wrong.However, Shakespeares mom was adamant that he was dying and had fluid in his thoracic cavity. Despite her concerns, the vet only administered IV fluids and sent her home with Betacillin™ Drops (Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium for Oral Suspension).Shakespeare passed away TWO hours later. All test results, including for FIP (coronavirus), came back negative.This so-called vet failed to provide the necessary emergency treatment, and as a result, Shakespeare passed away just before his first birthday. Its clear that Shakespeare could have been saved and lived if proper care had been given. Shame on you, Preston Collins.

The vet seemed more interested in convincing me to neuter my “bad tempered” puppy instead of giving him the proper care for the foxtail in his paw. The vet was pretty aggressive with my dog, which led to him pushing against treatment. We only came here because it was an emergency on a weekend but I will never bring my dog into this establishment again. Because they did nothing to treat my dog’s foxtail wound, I had to seek additional treatment.

They have an amazing team here. Everyone in the building genuinely cares about your pet and you. They arent pushy, but explain why some things are important and offer a variety of solutions to any one problem. You can rest assured your pet is in great care with these folks. Would recommend to any friend, family member or stranger crossing the street.

Came in this morning (2/19/24) as a new client. We just moved to the area. When I walked in both receptionists seemed upset. I greeted them both with a good morning only to just be asked my pets name. Gave it and was told have a seat. There was no warm and welcoming feelings. It was actually quite the opposite. There was someone who came over to wash the window near us and was also not friendly. The whole vibe in this place was so different from what I expected based off of the reviews. We cancelled our appointment and decided to just drive the 45 minutes to our old vet. The greeting when you walk in should be comfortable and friendly! These people are supposed to be trusted with our fur babies behind closed doors. If you can’t treat the humans kindly then how can we expect that our pets will be treated with kindness. I am very disappointed as this vet had 4 and 1/2 stars with over 800 reviews. The most reviews on any vet I researched.

I have been using them for years for my 6 cats. This visit I am VERY dissatisfied. From telling me I was in the wrong place to it being ALL about the money. I felt there was no feeling for my pet. They just wanted to find anything and everything that was wrong with her so they could charge me. They scheduled her during the lunch hour but said I had to leave her and come back because the doctor was going to lunch. Why schedule me at that time??? I received a call from the vet who spoke VERY fast about what was wrong. She said she did not have the charges for the medication or the suggested treatment. I got a call from someone else telling me the charges for the treatment and medications. There were things that the dr did not mention that they wanted to charge me for. I agreed to some but not all. They would give her the injection and call me when she was ready to be picked up. After another hour went by, I called them and was told she was ready to be picked up. Were they ever going to call me?? They took my payment but did not have the medication that they wanted her to take. Again, another charge and more waiting. I dont think my pet will be going back to Davies.

We used to love Davies, I have no idea what happened, but they’re absolutely terrible now. They told me my cat had diabetes and I could either put her under or treat her with insulin and follow a costly treatment plan. They also told me things like I couldn’t test her blood glucose at home, I had to bring her in for tests, then gave me a packet with my discharge papers that said ‘testing your cats glucose at home is easy!’?? The costly treatment would have been fine, but I got a second opinion (because Davies gave me so much misinformation and was almost impossible to get ahold of) and the new vet said there’s ’No conclusive sign she even HAS diabetes’?? We used to LOVE Davies but they are so terrible now. They took $1000s of dollars from us in this instance we can’t get back. The lack of care and misinformation cost us money and time but could have cost us our pets life. 0/10 do not recommend them to anyone! On top of the lack of care, they’re super condescending and take zero ownership for their mistakes. Take your fur baby somewhere else! I am so happy we got away from them and found a new doctor- our ‘diabetic cat’ doesn’t even have diabetes and is healthy and happy!

We had an amazing and comforting experience at Davies Animal Hospital. Dre, the tech was beyond competent, kind and awesome all around in his care and skill dealing with our injured part feral cat. Dr. Collins was clear, excellent and efficient in his professional care . The front desk staff was excellent too. I used to take my dog here, and it was fine during COVID times. However, once we were able to come inside the clinic again, I was able to see how the staff really are. They were not friendly and were quite rude on more than one occasion. Not the kind of environment I expect with such a positive reviews or want my dog around.

Thankyou Dr Collinn and especially his vet Tech. Sorry I didnt get her name. I had been putting off going to vet. The last place I went was not a good experience. I plan to continue to use Davies. In my opinion they are the best I have been to in this area. (My GSD agrees.) Other vets had insisted on sedation, which led me to believe she needed it to be seen. There was no sedation needed at Davies. They had to convince me. I am in awe. Very happy I have found a vet for my 2 babies. The front desk are also all very friendly. Thank you.

My dog would not stop scratching and he got to the stage where he was yelping as he scratched. Ive used a multi sachet drop onto the neck for the last three and a half years with no problem. But this year it was so bad I had to see a professional!The vet at Davies Animal Medical Hospital was very young ( to my 76 yr old eyes) but exceptionally right as she explained the symptoms my dog was suffering as I started to tell her. She nailed it. The mads were spot on to. That night, after 14 hrs after the shot, my dog slept the sleep of a one month puppy, he slept which meant I could too. My first visit will now become my go to place for treatment to my dog, and also by the way everyone treated me to. Thank you to you al. You guys rock.

So annoyed with this vet.. over the phone I scheduled an appointment to get my dog his rabies shot (he was due for his yearly shot & weve been here multiple times). The lady on the phone told me, since he hasnt gotten his rabies shot by them before he has to be seen by the doctor. But when my husband took him to his appointment today the doctor literally just did a check up and gave him his shot. I dont get why they lied to me over the phone and didnt just tell me he was due for a check up. I feel like they just want to take all your money 😒 not to mention, all of the doctors arent on the same page about things. We brought our pup in the first time because he had skin issues and one doctor told us one thing, and then the next 2 doctors told us something completely different.

I have taken my elderly boxer to Davies over the past year and a half and would not go anywhere else. They have been FANTASTIC. Even at a moments notice, they do everything they can to be able to see your pet that same day. If you need to have your pet seen, youve come to the right place. Jerry and Drew give TWO THUMBS UP!

Don’t waste your time or money here, called to let them know we were almost there as they were the only vet available for my pets emergency and they refused to see my pet when he was in the middle of a panic. This vet has gone downhill and it is not worth it.

This was probably the best vet experience I’ve ever had. My husky is very sweet, but VERY loud and energetic which makes vet visits really stressful, but the staff at Davies were so welcoming and kind and made us feel at ease. We had Dr. Columbo and he was absolutely fantastic. He was so gentle with my dog and was very thorough and talked through everything with me. I’m very impressed with everything about that place.

Last week we couldnt find a vet to even test for parvo let alone treat it, loomis basin said not to even bring her to their location.. for a VERY reasonable price they saved our pups life. Gave us the biggest bag of medicines Ive ever seen and walked us through how to use it all!! Within 4 days we were sure she would make it but today she offically tested negative for the virus!!!!

They saved my dogs life when she was going spetic and another vet wasnt doing anything to fix her, they helped my other dog with her broken leg. The emergency fee isnt ridiculous. Initially I took my son to Davies when Dr. Black owned it. The quality of care and service has dramatically declined in mine and Theodores experience. Ive been loyal to people that are no longer around. Theodore needed a rx refill. They would not give it without a check up . I understand looking out however he was out of medicine and 3 hours later my boyfriend gets his refill even though the lady on the phone said legally we cannot so what happened legally within 3 hours? Nothing. Poor quality of care and will be looking for another veterinarian

Me and my wife entered the facility crying because our little puppy Maya was having an allergy attack that was preventing from breathing. All the doctors were very empathetic with us, they saved my puppy, it was an afffordable price, and even the owner of the place talked to us. She gave me detailed instructions on how to continue the care of my puppy. I made my puppy and my other dog permanent patients of this place, i am so relieved to have a place like this in yuba city

My dog passed away this morning,after I took her back personally and was told that it was a management decision to not continue to care for my dog at their facility. I was never late with a payment the entire time I was there, I always paid in advance,I was kind and considerate to their staff, as they were to me in return. I spent over $2009 dollars trying to get my dogs bronchitis under control with two rounds of antibiotics, two sets of x-rays, sedation and one set of basic blood work. Her condition only worsened the longer I took her to this vet. And in the end they refused to see her because of the email I have copied for you to read below. Heartbroken today. Be very careful who you trust with your pets health. Its just really hard to find anyone who cares at all anymore. Its just all about the money. When they told me I was no longer allowed to bring Cleopatra to their office it was very uncomfortsble.and unprofessional. They did not take me into an exam room and tell me. They told me in the waiting room with my dying dog who was crying and barking, they sent an office worker to do their dirty work who was obviously not good at conflict management, they gave me a check for $26.10 that was a credit on my account (and the wrong amount, I might add). How ironic that they kept $26.10 of mine without telling me and let me go as a patient for lack of $130 to be paid prior to service. This place is making too much money off of pet owners who blindly pay their obscene fees and purchase their 2x priced prescriptions Below is a copy of my email to Davies Animal Hospital.:To: Davies Animal Hospital,Yuba City, CAPLEASE NOTEI am writing this email to document what has just happened during an emergency call to your office regarding my dog, Cleopatra.Cleopatra has been seen in your office many times. I have always paid my bill on time and in full. Since her first visit she has been experiencing bronchitis. She has been given two rounds of doxicillin, to no avail. She has had two different sets of x-rays done (the second set showing an advanced bronchitis in her lungs, she has had blood work done and she been sedated to allow the doctor to examine her more closely. Two days ago following her sedation and second set of x-rays,the doctor prescribed Prednisone. I have been giving the medicine to her as prescribed, and it appears to be making her feel worse altogether, with increased difficulty breathing. When I called Davies Animal Hospital I was told to take her to another Animal Hospital, that they would not see her. They told me this after I told them that I could not give them any more money today. At first the person on the phone said that she could see my dog if I paid them the emergency appt fee. I told her that I could not give them any more money today as it took my entire paycheck for the appointment earlier this week. She said she would ask the doctor. And magically they were completely booked up for today and could not and would not see Cleopatra, who is taking the meds prescribed by her vet two days ago and obviously is having an allergic reaction and cant breathe. The person on the phone told me toTake my dog somewhere else.(Me email was too many characters for this review)

We had to put our dog Storm down due to cancer, Carly Hayworth was the receptionist that helped us. She was amazing. She walked us through the process with kindness and exceptional care...Dr Columbo performed the final examination and the euthanasia. There was another team that prepared the i.v. for the medications, two females, they were also very kind and caring.We were heartbroken to lose our girl, the staff made things a little easier. I took my pug in for an injured eye, and I was blown away by the great care she got as a first time visitor at Davies. Everyone was cordial and professional. The Vet Tech and Vet were both beyond AMAZING. They both clearly love animals and their jobs. I will be back in a week for a follow up appointment, and am glad to have a new care provider for my dog. Quite possibly the most horrible experience I’ve ever had! Many years ago I was in desperate need of a vet for my chihuahua who was attacked and Dr. Black was the only one in this town who did EVERYTHING in his power to help me with my desperate situation. From that point on I held Davies veterinary hospital with the up most highest honor to everyone I knew or came in contact with that was searching for a vet. I did the same when my daughters cat fell Ill and needed emergency attention. Thinking that the new team would only fulfill the reputation that Dr. Black created with this community. Only to discover that not to be true at all! They only cared about getting money and nothing else. They saw a vulnerable child and took advantage of her parents by telling her that her cat would have to be put to sleep if we couldn’t afford the surgery that was almost $2,000. We’ll of course me being the mother that I am and not wanting to endure that look on my child’s face, as she started to completely break into pieces. Pay for the surgery. Only to be told two days after everything was notably paid for, that there is no guarantee for this surgery (that now put our family in debt). In fact that he has seen patients Come back to get the same surgery again in as little as a week. Sadly our cat passed away a little over a month later. They are just horrible at handling situations like this and I honestly hope that they can learn for seeing this and never make this kind of mistake again. We didn’t deserve this at all! We especially didn’t deserve to be looked down on by the staff members. We lost our cat and it didn’t have to be this way! Learn some common decency and make better choices when it comes to kids and there pets!

Worst vet in Yuba City. I have been going here for a few years and really tried giving them the benefit of the doubt. The vet technicians, specifically the dude, is extremely rude. I’ve been going here for a few years because my dog has had a bad itch. All these years later and the problem was not solved. All they did was throw different pills at my dog. I ended up changing vets (best decision of my life) and within 1 visit and 1/10th of what I spent at Davies. Also, they will call you NONSTOP and leave you a million voicemails.

I brought my cat in for her first vet appointment, and its a $400 visit to find out whats wrong with her. It seems extremely expensive to run labs. Get medication, inital visit, toe nails trimmedThen i get a call and im told she tested positive for 2 different viruses and she needs different medications to treat so why was i given medications (that clearly) werent correct for what was wrong with her and now I have to spend more money to get these new medications

Very poor customer service. Attitudes also No compassion or understanding. Simple appointments like a check up or follow up will take over an hour. People who have appointments after you will even go before you. They refuse to allow you to be even five minutes late or they automatically will make you reschedule yet they have you in the lobby waiting for the majority of your time spent there. Even after calling and saying giving a heads up we are running five minutes behind they did not even care or try to work anything out. With an attitude the person said oh well you will have to reschedule. Horrible stay away.

I’m constantly taking my dog in for things I catch and the front desk/vet/ every staff member there is so kind and always makes sure to get my dog in as quick as possible. My dog just got spayed on Tuesday and she’s healing so well! I’m happy that Davies is always looking out for my fur baby. Definitely recommend!!

Our Goldendoodle, Isabelle has had issues with her ears it seems like, every other month! This time it was really bad and Davies Animal Hospital diagnosed and treated Isabelle, showing her great care, as well as explaining to us exactly what was wrong with our pet. Ive had a couple of bad experiences there in the past and I cringed at the thought of going in there today but it was the only veterinary hospital I could get in to today at last minute so I went. It was day & night compared to what it was. EVERYONE in there was so kind & caring towards my kitten and the veterinarian Dr. Kemp and the vet tech Amy were the BEST Ive had since Dr. Black was there. Im hoping & praying my kitten will be okay but it wasnt a lack of trying or caring on their part. The receptionist that checked me out was also great. I would DEFINITELY go back there again after the service I received today. 😃😺

I can not say enough good about this place. My dog went into anaphylactic shock and they performed quick intervention and saved our sweet Labs life. In addition to that they are kind, compassionate, and really made me feel I was doing a good job with my animals. I love the feel when we go in there. Our animals are a huge part of our lives and they take such good care of us all.Not to mention they are fairly priced which makes life so much easier when things happen. If anything made my dog worse. My pit bull is ukc papered and I was planning on getting a litter but he became incompetent. My husband and I took him in to be seen and they said the only thing that was gonna help him was being neutered. They gave us pain meds and antibiotics to calm the swelling down and the pain. It’s already been a week and some change and there has been no improvements. I then proceeded to call and ask what was going on and the lady on the phone hung up on me because I didn’t want to pay another $1,500 to do the same stuff they did the first time. Basically neutered our show dog for nothing.

We’ve been going here for awhile now and I was really happy with my experience and I will say the vets we’ve seen have been great but today unfortunately I had a different experience and I won’t be back because of it. I had my 2 young children with me and we were there for over an hour for a puppy visit and while I know they can’t control the wait since some visits take longer than others my kids were ready to leave by the time we were done. While checking out my 4 year old gently touched the plant and I told her to stop and she did but when the lady came over to pet our puppy my daughter again went to touch the plant and before I could say something to her the older lady very rudely told her “you better not touch my plant” totally unnecessary for her to say that. I am almost positive she was already annoyed because while she was trying to pet my puppy my 7 year old stepped in front of her to pet the puppy and started asking her questions. I didn’t make a big deal out of the situation and left but I was upset so I called and the lady who answered the phone said she is the lady who takes care of the plants and she has a right to protect their property because it’s destruction of property and again I explained I can understand her saying something to my child if it was an immediate need for example my child was pulling at the plant or damaging it but she was literally gently touching it. I understand she puts hard work into the plants but if a small child touching it triggers that kind of response why have them? I asked if part of my puppy package could be refunded because we’ve only had one visit and I don’t feel comfortable bringing my child there and was told no. If you have small children you’ll have to bring with you to the vet don’t come here, find a more family friendly vet!

Davies animal Hospital is the best. I take my Rosie there and they are so pleasant and the doctor Rosie sees is a rock star. I will never take my Rosie to another place. Their prices are reasonable and during the who COVID 19 they do not show any frustrations with the changes in how they see animals, they made Rosie feel very comfortable when she had to go in for a visit while I had to remain outside. Do NOT USE THIS VET! Most horrible experience ever - the staff is rude unapologetic. There is NO WHERE to sit if you have Cats - Dogs in the lobby are allowed to roam freely without any intervention from the staff, although there were at least 6 staff sitting directly in the lobby they were more interested in gossiping about what they did the night before than my pets experience. My Cats were traumatized after two bulldogs jumped at their carry cases and begun barking at their cages. There is ZERO policing of the lobby and although they have two separate sitting areas and at least 6 people manning the reception area. There was zero empathy for what my animals experienced. This was the last straw after a history of bad experiences here. The front walkway is like an obstacle course of dog poo and the business is clearly more interested in the VOLUME$$$$ of animals they can see in a day vs. actually providing any type of care or Indepth examination. Staff was RUDE and disengaged from their customers. My impression of the vets themselves is that most are young and inexperienced. Examinations have been very rushed and more like a conveyor belt - get em in, and get em out as soon as you can $$$$$$$

This place, due to its pet management practices, creates serious continuity of care issues for pets. It effects the quality of service and drives up the price of care for its clients. Their whole system looks professional and busy, but it is rotten from their appointment system to their front desk to their techs to their vets. They are never on time, and quiet often have the wrong information about themselves and your pets. The customer service is not great, but Davies gets worse for you and your pet and your wallet when different vets step in and are oblivious to what other vets at Davies are doing with your pet. It seems like the new vet just don’t care what the other vet has been doing, and/or they think they know better than the previous vet and so they should take the care in a new direction because the previous vet must have missed something and didn’t test for something they should’ve previously. Watch out for this because this is dangerous for your pet and invariably doubles the cost of care.You should consider taking your pets elsewhere, as I have for better consistent and cheaper care before it’s too late.

I have had the best experience here I will absolutely bring my fur babies here always! Today was one of the hardest days ever, I had to put down my sweet boy Max and Jennifer Housley made it as peaceful as possible. Honestly, it was a good first impression until we were taken back to an exam room. The wait although my mini poodle was a bit impatient, did not bother me.The veterinarian was very kind, friendly and patient with my dog. The vet tech on the other hand left me speechless. She wasnt rude or anything and although this is my first pet and her first visit but i guess it was the unexpected which took me by surprise.Without any warning or explanation she pulls a thermometer from the drawer, lifts up my dogs tail and shoves it in her behind, no sleeve or cover. As she finishes, she wipes it and puts it back in the drawer.I thought that was inappropriate and rather grossed out. Im no vet but Im pretty sure that is unsafe for dogs. I dont know what kinds of parasites other dogs may have and that seems like an easy way to spread and cause issues for others. This made me sour and not sure i would take my dog here again, sadly.

Great small animal practice! They take wonderful care of your pets and are able to slip you in to have your furry friends checked out almost anytime!The only thing that could have made the experience better is if you served coffee and tea in the parking lot whilst we awaited the return of our magnificent beasties! If you value the life and wellbeing of your pet, please dont go here. They dont even have good reviews from the BBB. They care way more for money than your pet. So many fees were slipped in while my cat was hospitalized. Things Doctor Kemp never asked if we wanted and just performed.They have some good vets, but others such as Doctor Kemp are rude, pushy and have the bedside manner of a robot.She argued with every choice I made for my cat. While I was holding my cat and crying and REPEATEDLY ASKING her to give me a minute she was standing behind me talking 20mph telling me everything that I should do. I made a choice for my cat, and she just stared disapprovingly, I tried to explain why I wanted that and she would repeatedly cut me off to explain why that was the wrong choice.I had to leave for a minute to get away from her because I couldnt think I couldnt breath she just would NOT stop, and as soon as I leave she calls to tell me my cat passed. (Again with zero bedside manners, she launches into explaining that she stopped breathing first, then her heart stopped, because every pet owner wanted to answer the phone to an explanation of which bodyparts gave out first)So none of my choices would have changed anything.Instead of sobbing and anxious and rethinking every choice I made 50times I could have spent that time with my cat. I will never get that time back that she robbed from me.*Opinion isnt swayed by how I was affected by the loss of my cat it is based on the callousness of a specific vet. Glad to see this vets office continues to brush off the way its vet treats people. The other vet I experienced here was amazing. My opinion stands for a business that could employ someone like Dr. Kempt.

Most horrified experiences I ever encountered my cat had cat parvo and they kept poking I’ve in her collapsed vains, they didn’t give my cat pain meds before IV my cat was screaming in pain and kicked us out of the room one of the nurses violently pulled out the IV and threw it on the floor my cat was tortured while they were rude and screaming at us, they did not educate us on the procedure beforehand! They have very bad bedside manner horrible I’m traumatized! The sedation I’ve hurts very much they don’t give pain meds then the give it again then the euthanasia hurts not only that the cat was dehydrated so they kept jabbing needs in her to get a vain ! My dogs have been patients of Davies Animal hospital since 2008. I needed to see a vet on an emergency basis last Monday. The fee was for $500.00 for a deposit to begin with. Actually, I was shocked but thought it couldnt possibly cost that much, as I thought my dog only needed x-rays for a possible obstruction. But the vet of course needed to do her exam first. That fee was over $250.00. The entire fee when I left with 4 meds, x-rays and exam came to $ 650.00 plus. I am so disappointed they have turned this hospital into a big business. I cannot afford, (being a senior), taking my animals to their practice. Also, while waiting in the room for the vet which took some time we could hear laughing and lots of visiting in the hospital area. I feel this has turned into a big business rather than a caring place for my animals. Also heard an uncomplimary remark by one of the receptionists to another receptionist as to why someone wasnt charged enough. Really disgusting. I believe last year when I had an emergency the deposit was $100.00. I miss the way we were treated when Dr Black was there.

My babygirl just got spayed today and Davies did a phenomenal job! The staff was ready to greet me this morning and were super friendly and smiling. The pick up cracked me up as Lexie didn’t want to walk out of the vet, she had them carry her and the tech that brought her out was so sweet. The euthanasia here was the worst we’d ever experienced. When they finally came in, the vet assistant poked around for a vein for a long time. It was hard to watch the assistant learn how to do this on our dog. It was distressing for me to see them hold up my limp dog for so long. After awhile, I suggested that a vet technician or veterinarian take over. (At other hospitals the veterinarians themselves did the euthanasia in under 5 minutes.) We sat on a hard, cold floor for the longest time. It took well over an hour. Also, before that, every time we went to Davies we got a different veterinarian. It was difficult to establish any kind of relationship with them, because we kept seeing new vets.

We have never had a puppy before, only adults and seniors. We weren’t expecting to get a puppy but a rescue ended up being my new baby. We called Davies about 100 times over one appointment asking questions about what to do, what to get and then had to call again later to see if we could get her in because she was injured the same day. (Unrelated to the appointment) I’m sure they got annoyed with us but they never let it show. They answered every single question we had and were very knowledgeable and so patient. I wasn’t left on hold forever while someone asked someone else a question to get back to us and I wasn’t transferred to 10 different people. I was left on hold once for less than a minute. Not only did they seem like they weren’t annoyed with our many calls but they seemed so happy to help. They called us back when we left a message, my little Lola was just as happy coming home as she was when she went there. I feel so confident in taking my baby girl there (she is spoiled and only gets the best care, training And so on) and I believe these people will give her nothing but the best care and help us give her the best care. Oh and their puppy package and the price points are ridiculously reasonable. I have dog insurance but I don’t even think I need to use it very often with their prices. The best service I have received from a vet ever. Probably the only place I will ever take my fur babies from now on.

TLDR: If you go here, call about price as you are booking the appointment. They will sneak in random and needless services just to hike your bill for things you did not come in for. CLARIFY with your vet *DURING THE APPOINTMENT* what you are paying for and make sure they are NOT doing anything additional that you did not agree to beforehand. They WILL charge you for things you did not ask for. They have tried it 3 times with us, and got away with it once.This place used to be 5 stars, but lately they seem less and less reliable. Its easy to book an appointment, but they are incredibly expensive and sneak in HIDDEN FEES at any chance they get.In the past, Ive brought my dog here once to get TWO vaccines. Called and scheduled for rabies renewal and one other. Got a general quote over the phone for about $80. Arrived, the vet puts a paper on the table with a tab that exceeded $200 saying this is what were doing today. It was a list of over 13 vaccines. I declined, were only doing two. Was able to get my two vaccines and walk out with the original ~$80 tab.This time around, we brought our cat in for a urinalysis. Was told $112 over the phone. Brought him in, vet charges $65 just to look at him, takes him in the back to do the urinalysis, then comes back saying she did the urinary sample AND another type of test. We did not ask for the additional test to be performed.Loved Davies in the past, but I dont think well be coming here anymore.

The visit at Davies Animal Hospital was perfect. I called as a new patient for my little Ella (aka nicknamed Pickle or Dilly) she was itching and flopping her ears so badly she could barely sleep. They got Ella in within 2 days. Gave her injection, did a ear lab to make sure no infection or mites, and ‘viola!’ No more itching! Within a few hours, she was better. By next day-no itching at all!!Sadly with the social distancing due to Covid-19, I couldn’t go in the clinic with her, but they came out to my car, got my info, and took Pickle in to do exam, then they called me on my cell to tell me the outcome and cost. I was very happy with the total bill. Such great service, lab culture, injection, and 3 month flea/tick chewable-did a nail trim too! I waited in parking lot while they finished up on her treatment. Then paid over phone, then out she came! Happy and ready to go home. They really cared for her -she was happy. She is a happy little dog again! I’m happy too! 💜 I will take my Pickle (Ella) there for future check-ups. Everyone there was so nice. From the first phone call,to the face to face when we arrived, to the Veterinarian who was working that day and called me to speak to me via my cell out in the car. Only place I want to take my dog. We fostered and eventually adopted our dog and decided to continue care where the previous owners had taken him, Davies. We began with Dr. Davies and next with Dr. Berg who has treated Ziva with exemplary care for 8 and 1/2 years. Special thanks to surgeon Dr. Kelli Mayhew for the exceptional surgery on Ziva. This hospital has an excellent staff in all areas; the office staff is friendly and pleasant every time you go in for a visit. The vet techs all seem very knowledgeable and good with either a cat or a dog. We went to Northpoint for years but now that they are 24 hours it was hard to get to see a regular vet, we have been going to Dr. Berg at Davies and are very, very pleased with her and confident in her diagnosis. We are happy to have found such good vets locally, we highly recommend this office. Dr. Berg explains everything honestly, even printed out paperwork to explain our cats condition and even though Leo gets two shots each visit he is always happy to see her and never fearful. Our dogs like her also, cant imagine a better, more caring vet!

I have had multiple instances here where they proved to only care about money and some are inexperienced in the field or simply dont care about your pet. Its sad because the owner is a vet there and does a great job but you can never get an apt because alot of other patients request her according to someone at the front desk. No wonder everyone requests her the other vets are questionable. They most recently charged me a recheck fee which was for three minutes of the vets time with her not even touching my animal. I feel like they stole from me honestly. And its a bad feeling to have especially when your trusting them with your pets/famiy.

We had an emergency situation a few weeks ago where my husband found an injured kitty on the road. Sadly at that time Davies was closed, and after driving a multiple hour search, he found an emergency vet in FOLSOM that provided her care and surgery. A week later the kitten had an Urgent Care wound issue that I could not deal with on my own and involved exposed bone. Davies staff was kind enough to not only allow us to come in, but stayed after closing to assure the kitten would be bandaged and the wound cleaned. Since then the Doctor has gently cared for and ensured this tiny trauma patient, now without a tail and healing from a pelvic fracture, has had appropriate and gentle care. On top of all of that they tolerate my questions!! We are so very impressed and grateful . We have remained with our DVM located at our prior city of residence over an hour away for our other critters, but we will be transfering records/care of ALL of our fur babies to Davies!!We are so very gratedful and appreciative of the skill and care demonstrated.

Our chihuahua had an enucleation (eye removal) due to severe glaucoma. DAMH was so great with our old little guy. Everyone here is absolutely amazing. I just recently took in my 11 year old Pekingese for a teeth cleaning. I received a phone call as soon as she was done to let me know that she did great. I’m very disappointed in Davies. I have a 10 year old chihuahua that has become aggressive towards my other dogs. She has also been snapping at my granddaughter and last night even bit me. She used to be potty trained but now she goes anywhere, I made the hard decision that it was time to put her down. Davies told me it wasn’t my decision to make and that I should just go drop her off at the shelter. Who does that? If she’s biting people attacking the other dogs why can’t I make the decision to put her down.

My husband and I have brought our cat here multiple times and multiple times we have been disappointed with their service. As we’ve seen our cats health decrease we decided to take our little one to this vet. And multiple times the vet would simply say there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with her. She lost almost 50% of her body weight and we finally got another vet there to look at her and found out about her thyroid. We scheduled appointments for blood work, but we get no phone call back about the results. We even called the vet and they said “ oh yea they came in last night the vet will call you”... never did. We also had an ultra sound scheduled for 830 in the morning which was only apparently supposed to take 30 min but ended up there over 4 hours and didn’t even have to ultra sound done. Why schedule appointments if the patient isn’t even going to be seen at that time? I’m pretty sure cats and dogs hate being at the vet so why cause them so much stress by having them there for hours and not even attend to them! When I went to pick her up I had to ask for her blood work to be printed out from the previous visit since no one called to tell us her results. Come to find out her results shown she had abnormal amount of leukocytes from months ago when we first brought her in and they said she was fine! We keep getting blown off from this vet and its literally killing our cat. We need to find another vet.

Davies vet is going down hill. Took my dog recently and spent over $350 on her visit and while driving home I didn’t see the antibiotic she was prescribed with the many others she was prescribed. Pulled over and called the office and was told I got everything. Just as I was arriving home, they called my cell and said She didn’t get her antibiotic and I need to come back. Told them I would drop my dog off and come back. Got another call immediately after the last call saying......”oh we’re sorry, we also forgot to give her the $75 injection you paid for, you need to bring her back also.” Loosing my confidence in them.Also, my mom brought her dog and was 8 minutes late and told her she was a “no show” and rescheduled her. Dr. Colomo was fine, but his support staff does him injustice. Every person we encountered (there were several in one visit) asked why we brought our cat in. They have a chart in their hands, cant they read? She had blood drawn but the Labs he wanted done were not done. She had to go in again for the correct labs. She had a needle biopsy but the results indicated that she needed to have a surgical biopsy. The surgical biopsy specimen was labeled incorrectly with another animals name, so she would need to come in again. When my husband calls for updates, the doctor doesnt get the message.

After calling around to several other places my son called Davies Animal Hospital and was told the cost,which was within our reach,and that we could bring our old friend in anytime. This was such a relief after talking to other places charging much more even being told there was additional fees if we didnt make an appointment a week in advance! I don’t often leave reviews but I truly had a positive experience here. My dog doesn’t do well at vets. He gets anxiety and hates feeling confined. After a bit of a long wait for an exam room at our first appointment, the assistant worked really hard to earn my dogs trust. She got on the floor with him, fed him lots of healthy treats, rubbed his belly, scratched his chest and ears, and made every effort to make him comfortable. I can’t say enough how much I appreciated her efforts. Previous experiences at other vet offices were not nearly so comforting. I didn’t catch her name, but I will keep taking my pup to Davies because of that experience.

Davies saved our dog when he had pancreatitis. The first vet we took our Terrier to (in Sacramento)told us hes pretty old and in bad shape. They basically were ready to put him down. We asked for some pain pills and took him home to see if he would get better. He got worse. The next morning Davies fit us in immediately and did blood work to conclude it was pancreatitis, they m3dicated him and kept him for 3 days and nights. But hes home again, doing better then before he got sick and Davies saved our dog at a reasonable price too. Hard to get appointments sometimes, but this place is great 👍.

They are always helpful, very reasonably priced and always get us in when needed. I switched from Northpointe Vet and only wish I would have done so sooner. They made a very very tough situation a little easier! The doctor came to our home when we lost our cat. One of the hardest things pet parents have to do, so being able to have her go at home in her bed was so much better than scared and at a place she didnt know.Dr. Perez and her assistant were understanding, patient and so kind.

While traveling, we faced the difficult decision to euthanize our beloved 12 year old dog following serious health issues. The staff were all incredibly kind and compassionate and helped us make it through a rough day.

Davies has always taken GREAT care of our kids, I have missed appointments and made last minute appointments and we have never been treated any less than fantastic, Today Carli supplied me with my dogs medical records via email, quickly, efficiently and her customer service was impecable!

I used to love going there but just yesterday my cat went in for a check up because we didn’t know what was wrong with him and when he came back his nails were cut his paws were bleeding we did not even ask for his nails to be cut and when the receptionist looked up our file we weren’t even charged for a nail cutting so why was our cats nails cut then? They didn’t even ask for him to come back in to check on him, instead they told us an at home way to stop the bleeding. They said they would look into what happened during the appointment and call us back and when they did they didn’t even leave a voicemail to call back?? Like what are you gonna do about practically DECLAWING my pet without permission! I want him on antibiotics for it so they don’t get infected because of the litter, but I’m definitely NOT going back to them for it!
