Dr Nagasawa did an amazing job on my emergency spinal fusion surgery last year. After he reviewed my MRI he immediately contacted me while I was in the hospital letting me know the seriousness of my situation. He had tremendous confidence and professionalism the whole time. If you are lucky enough to get referred to him or can chose your neurosurgeon he’s your guy. Thanks again for everything!

Under not so great circumstances my son had to have emergency brain surgery with Dr. Daniel Nagasawa. If you find yourself needing surgery by him you will be in great hands. He definitely holds himself to a higher standard of care. I’m very thankful that he ended up being my sons surgeon and took care of my son the way he did. Dr. Nagasawas office and entire staff are very welcoming for after care.

Let me start by saying, Dr. Nagasawa is amazing and very nice. The whole office is great, one of the best Ive seen in LA.For about 14 months I have had terrible sciatica pain down my left leg caused by a herniated disc around my L4-L5. I couldnt walk or stand for longer than 5 minutes w/o this shooting pain from my lower back to my foot. After 2 epidural injections, multiple PT sessions and NO relief, Dr. Nagasawa suggested the minimally invasive laminotomy. I was a little nervous because anything dealing with the back seems painful, but he was very reassuring. Another thing I was appreciative about was, he didnt immediately recommend surgery.Immediately after the surgery, I had instant relief. I am now 6 weeks out and feeling so much better, no more sciatic pain and about to start rehabbing. I highly suggest Dr. Nagasawa, he is the best.

I’m over the moon with Dr. Nagasawa.First let me say I’m terribly afraid of doctors, I’ve been living with back pain for 8 years. I tried everything to avoid surgery because I didn’t trust that I would be a success story. I had the worst sciatic pain, I couldn’t stand for more than a few minutes at the end. My last epidural didn’t work, I got a 2 months of relief then I was leveled again.I went to Dr. Nagasawa in tears, terrified, hoping he’d say he couldn’t help to avoid having surgery. My biggest fear was having surgery and ending up in pain still or worse, never walking again.Dr Nagasawa was kind and compassionate, he took his time with me at the consultation and made me feel at ease. He recommended surgery, a fusion on my L5S1. He explained the procedure and his history with success. He made me feel at ease. I scheduled the procedure and trusted he would take care of me.This has been the best decision I’ve ever made. I can walk. I can participate in my life. I can be a part of my family again. Dr Nagasawa and his team took excellent care of me before, during and after my surgery.I’m so grateful to them, thank you Dr. Nagasawa.

I recently had two spine procedures performed by Dr. Nagasawa. I had 5 discs in my neck and one in my lower back that needed attention. What I can say from my experience with Dr Nagasawa is that without question is he is an exceedingly gifted and highly skilled surgeon.He truly cares about his patients. He spent some time with me in pre op and put me at ease and really listened to my fears and addressed my pre op anxiety. I was in the hospital for a week following my first spine surgery (neck) and again a couple of months later for about a week for my lower spine surgery. Dr Nagasawa checked in with me in person every single day I was hospitalized. I can also testify that within 2 days after both surgeries I could already feel some relief not only from the acute pain I had been experiencing for years; the nerve pain and tingling in my arms, chest, back and legs had already begun to quiet down as well and I have continued to improve with each passing day.I can barely scratch the surface with words to express how grateful I am to be a patient of Dr Nagasawas, but I will try. He is a true blessing in my life, and I am so fortunate that he put me back together. Thank you and everyone on staff in your office and the amazing team you put together at St. Johns in Santa Monica. Dr Nagasawa is a world class surgeon and human being. I cant express just how appreciative I am of Dr. Daniel Nagasawa and his team. In my hardest moment following my accident, Dr. Nagasawa took care of me and reassured my family that I would be okay. Before my operation, he visited me every single day, ensuring I felt supported. He went above and beyond, advocating for me with insurance companies and hospital management to ensure I received the best care possible. Now, one month post-op, Im on my way to recovery. Dr. Nagasawa and his staff are always available for any questions, demonstrating incredible dedication. I wish I could give more than five stars. Dr. Nagasawa and his staff are excellent! I had been having lower lumbar issues for years in the military and they became much worse after separating. Dr. Nagasawa took progressive steps, initially referring to pain management and physical therapy for minimally invasive treatment. However a year later, things deteriorated rapidly with me losing the ability to feel most of my left leg or walk more than 5 minutes at a time due to multiple discs protruding onto the nerve. Dr. Nagasawa performed a spinal fusion (TLIF) of my L4-S1, which went extremely well and within 2 weeks I was walking multiple miles a day. I was even walking laps around the hospital floor within days of the surgery. Fast forward to 7 weeks post surgery and Im able to hike 5+ miles in the mountains and am generally pain free!

Dr. Nagasawa is a genius and miracle worker!! Im in my 20s came in with extreme severe scoliosis and was unsure of biting the bullet since it would be my entire spine (below the neck to the pelvis) because of the severity of my curvature. Dr. Nagasawa knows his stuff and answered all my concerns and I instantly could tell his expertise would be worth, so I knew it was now or never. Im about 1 month post op and all my loved ones have literally been in shock on how fast Ive been up and walking, gaining flexibility each day quickly, and swiftly getting closer to my usual self. Maya on the team has also been so extremely helpful on her expertise, answering of questions, and being so kind during such an anxiety inducing process. You can tell the passion and love Dr. Nagasawa has for his work and it changed my life!
