This review reflects the poor communication, carelessness and lack of follow through from front desk. I am a new mom of two littles and working full time. I NEED and require 20/20 vision to drive and do my job effectively. I scheduled a new patient visit / eval for contacts two weeks ago ( visit went great) and then ordered new lenses which I was told would take a week. Since it’s now been two weeks I have run out lenses and called several times politely requesting some back up lenses for the interim to get me by. 3 times now I have called for an update on my order and request for back up lenses & I was told I would be called back. 3 times no one has called . I feel like I have to harass them just to get an answer. I work in healthcare and can understand things get busy but not even a follow up courtesy call? This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I should not have to be my own optometrist and follow up daily to get a simple response. Moving forward I will be taking my business elsewhere and as a Carlsbad local I will be referring friends / family elsewhere. Worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time .

We have been coming to Daniel & Davis Optometry for the last 12 years, and I wont trust our vision to anyone else - in spite of the fact that we have to drive 30 miles to get there. I was introduced to Dr. Daniels when my son was 5, and was diagnosed with a condition that threatened his vision. It was a late diagnosis and we werent even sure if it could be corrected at that point. But a physical therapist friend of mine recommended us to this practice and my son enrolled in the Vision Therapy program. It was difficult to make the drive for each appointment but totally worth it, because his vision was completely restored to where it should be. He initially started in glasses, and later graduated to contact lenses. That transition was difficult for him because hes on the autism spectrum, but the staff was super patient with him through every attempt and finally he was successful. Now he has no problem at all with the contacts and Im so thankful for all the help he received along the way. My whole family continues to come here for our annual eye exams and glasses/contacts prescriptions. They also have a great 30 day guarantee on glasses. Over the years Dr. Daniel has become a part of our family and a trusted friend, and we will keep coming here as long as she is part of the practice.

This post is not about the services they are providing since Ive never managed to schedule appointment! I turned all the paperwork in, nobody contact me for a week! I called them back to see if they have everything they need, they confirmed they do and told me they will be in touch in couple of days. Someone did called me and left me the voice message to get back to them to schedule an appointment. Person in charge wasnt available I left the message and havent heard back from them. To summarize: the scheduling process is a mess and they dont care if they have you as a client or not. Good for them!

I have been going here for a long time and I love Dr. Dukes. It seems they might have grown too large because I keep getting told I will get a call back and then when I follow up, I am told they were helping other customers. I was ordering contacts and was given two different prices by two different technicians for the same contacts with different power. It took days to get resolved and then when I finally was able to place the order, I was told it would take two weeks and I was out of contacts. I was told someone would check if they had trials I could use and get back to me, but I never heard back. It has been more frustrating than usual lately.

Dr Susan Daniel is the best! She takes extra care with my daughter who’s on the autism spectrum. We just went for our annual appt in March 2022. The front office staff is friendly and accommodating. Ordering new glasses was easy.

Both myself and my husband have been to see Dr Coffey. We both had a great experiences with our exams and interactions with Dr Coffey. She took her time and was very thorough in our exams. My contact prescription is tricky due to it being a multi focal lens. Dr Coffey suggested that I try two different strengths of lenses and the have a follow up appointment to verify which worked best for me. At the follow up she decided to have me try one additional pair and then suggestedI contact the office if those worked for me. I was so happy to have her be so diligent and patient with me as we figured out what would be best. I would highly recommend others book an appointment with Dr Coffey.

I just had to take a moment to express my unabashed thanks to Daniel & Davis Optometry! Through the years Im grateful to be able to call Jim & Susan - friends. Their Cutting-edge practice has been more than my family and I couldve hoped for. From their state-of-the-art equipment to the professional and personal touch that the Davis and their fine team readily display upon walking into their offices, makes it an incredibly positive experience.On another note, kudos to the Davis for all they continue to do to better the lives of individuals and our local community through complimentary eye tests and services to local schools and programs. They are extraordinary and all of us are beneficiaries of their great help to so many.

Super impressed by this practice! Excellent staff + services.Front desk staff - Super sweet and polite even though I was a dingus and was about 8 minutes late for my first appointment. (I thought this office was in the same complex as Sprouts down the street, oops!) They let me keep my appointment anyway despite me being behind, though did say the next person might get to go before me which was totally fine as it was my fault for being late.Eye nurses who took my pressures etc were very nice even though I had trouble not blinking during that portion.Dr. Davis was super personable and kind even though I was kind of a crybaby about having to get glasses for the first time. My superpower used to be uncorrected vision and I’ve had a rough couple weeks so I was more emotional about the age related eye changes than I would’ve otherwise been. However he was very kind and ended up making me laugh by the end. He also did a super thorough eye exam and confirmed I have zero eye disease- a huge relief as I have a strong family history. He even drew me some diagrams to help me understand what astigmatism is!Esteban the frames specialist was just a doll, too! As I waited for my appointment I got to watch him help a teenage girl there with her mother. He and the young lady had a very detailed conversation about a videogame and even though the girl’s mom was seemingly kind of dismissive of her interest, Esteban spoke with the young lady in a genuine and earnest way and it was very heartwarming. He was also super patient with me as I hemmed and hawed about which frames to pick and gave what I felt like was honest feedback about how things looked on me.10/10 experience ! Good selection of frames and they have a super cool machine that allowed them to take pics of my eyes without needing dilation, totally worth the extra $39 cost for that (insurance only covered dilation). Have already recommended to my friends!

THANK YOU Dr. Dukes and April!!I was struggling with some neuro-optometric issues as a result of a concussion. This had been going on for a few months and I was getting pretty discouraged when I was sent to Daniel & Davis Optometry for an evaluation. I just finished 6 months of vision therapy, and am thrilled with the results.I never heard of vision therapy before and had no idea what to expect. Dr. Dukes clearly explained my assessment results, recovery goals, and treatment plan. In my weekly sessions, April guided me through creative and varied activities, keeping me motivated and focused on my goals. It was a collaborative and supportive environment.As advised, I did my at-home exercises every day during therapy, and continue to do them every day post-therapy. The exercises only take a few minutes and have a huge impact. The difference from where I started to now is incredible and Im so grateful for their help.

Dr. Daniel is very nice and seems like a very skilled and knowledgeable optometrist. The office is soothing and calming, and their staff is very friendly. They’re very well-versed in everything eyewear and have a good grasp on various eye therapies and other ways to improve your vision.
