I feel the name is misleading. It makes it sound like a very Americanized Japanese restaurant. There are also discount signs outside winch makes it look a little cheap. I had low expectations and was just looking some something nearby for a sushi fix. With that, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, the ambiance was nice, food was fairly priced and tasty! For the price, ambience and good quality. I’m definitely coming back :) parking was easy ~ plaza parking. First hour free and after that its $2

My husband and I had a great time when we went yesterday. We shared the Alaskan roll, which has crabmeat on the inside and a thick cut of salmon on the outside. It tasted so fresh and was also topped with red onion, so it had a little sweetness to it. My favorite roll is salmon skin. I loved that the roll wasnt too small, but I had to find clever ways to add the soy sauce without the fillings coming out. I tried some of my husbands popcorn shrimp roll and that was delicious as well.Great atmosphere, ambient lighting, and music thats not super loud. Loved it!

I can’t remember the last time I ate a whole sushi plate this fast, so freaking sumptuous! Their shishito peppers makes me wonder what kind of sauce they used cause it was tasty, their udon are so comforting, their tempura was great, the teriyaki could have been better with better rice. But overall it’s such a FIRE meal. 🔥🔥🔥

The fish is fresh, the happy hour is nice, but no oysters!!!! We got the zen roll, West Hollywood roll and the Ebisu Shashimi.It was just enough for 2 of us. The rolls were delicious. The sauces were delicious, the fish was amazing and the services was impeccable. We were sat quickly, water glass never ran dry and the food came out quickly.Would definitely return and eat again no questions asked. Paid about $50 per person.

This might have been the best sushi Ive ever had! The fish is fresh and the rolls are craft fully made. My boyfriend and I stopped by late (9 pm) on a Friday night, and they were able to seat and serve us immediately. The food arrived within minutes of ordering, which was incredible. Both their basic and special rolls are delicious and unique. Even the seaweed salad was good. We were just visiting the area, but if I lived here, wed probably come here on a weekly or monthly basis. YUM

This place is cozy and charming, the food is delicious and reasonably priced (great deals if you check the menu!) and attentive, welcoming staff. Sharon in particular has taken care of me and my partner a few times and is very much so on top of it. We will be coming back again very soon!

Dont be fooled by the exterior or by it being in a shopping center, this place is actually pretty good! I was pleasantly surprised by how well everything tasted and not to mention plenty of options! They also have a deal if you buy one roll you get a second for equal or lesser value half off which is nice because we all know sushi prices can add up fast! Dont know if they have a happy hour but all in all a very good spot!

Very nice sushi spot with cute decorations! The restaurant is a bit small, but I think it’s pretty nice for a date spot. The wait staff were quick and very attentive to us. The sushi was very tasty and they had some good deals for the sushi. Highly recommend the super caterpillar roll if you come here! The hot sake was pretty good too if you come on a rainy or cold day.

We were at the spa down the street and were in search of good quick sushi place nearby. We found this and decided to check it out. Overall the vibe was good, staff was super friendly and quick with our order. The quality was a 9/10. Not the best sushi I ever had but well above average. We tried the Yummy roll, which lived up to its name, The La Brea, which was so spicy, the Rainbow roll & The Baked Salmon, which we sent back ‘cause we didn’t realize it came with cheese.I would definitely come back here again. The restaurant is small and was pretty loud. But still a great experience.

I used to order takeout lunch from here when I worked nearby and it was great. Then I visited on a Monday night with my husband and my whole idea of the place changed.First of all there is a sign that says please wait to be seated when you enter. Then we waited and waited and the waiter and waitress passed by and looked at us and quickly looked away and walked off to the back and started talking to eachother.We sat ourselves down as we did not have all night.Then the rolls came and aside from the fact that they fell apart, they were pretty inedible.The Sapporo roll was prettymuch cream cheese and rice snd The Lemon roll was just a spicy tuna roll as we could not eat the lemon slices with the sushi due to how thick the pieces were cut and the fact that they had seeds left in them.Aside from avoiding eye contact to not sit us down, the staff were not bad. The young one was not the most professional but I guess professionalism is becoming outdated for GenZ.I will not go back here. MAYBE I will try the Glendale location but Im pretty done with this one.

I saw this restaurant was busy and the sign said 50% off, oh well so lets try this place. It was actually a huge mistake, we ordered octopus roll, eel roll, smoked salmon roll, BSCR roll (i found a hair inside) and dynamite roll. Trust me the last two rolls were disgusting and ive never seen sushi roll so watery like those. After eating here, we both were feeling vomit. The only thing i give stars is because of the service...most servers were nice n attentive.PS to the owner: you cannot mess with quality when you deal with sushi. Its better to raise the price but selling best stuff instead of putting 50% off and giving customers low quality sushi.Updated Feb 9, 2018:Its always happy hour which means 50% off on selected menu. My last visit here was ok compare to the previous one. Now i know i should only order regular sushi rolls and not the ones with a lot of stuff on top (ex:BSCR rolls). Service is always excellent, pretty attentive and friendly. Next time, i will try food from kitchen instead of sushi.

I was hungry after I went to Lowes I realized that this place has a lot of good reviews, and I decided to stop by. There is smell of soy sauce when I first walked in. This place looks very modern in their design and with contemporary decorations. I saw asian chefs preparing food behind the sushi bar, and non-asian waiters (dress up as super professional)! My gut feeling was telling me that the food might possibly be Americanized. They provided me with complimentary edamame, but it was marinated with some spicy dressing with jalapeños!I ordered sashimi combination, mixed tempura, and salmon blue crab. The food was actually decent! They not authentic Japanese, but they are not very Americanize either. Its more of a fusion style. I will probably stop by again if I am in the area!!

Today i tried this place for the first time. Luckily they have happy hour 50% everyday from 12 pm till 7(?). They serve fast, portions are medium size. California and eel. It costed $13. Well its not the cheapest place but the price is ok. The taste was nice. Shrimp and eel taste good and balanced. Medium size portion. Lack of soy sauce. If you order - make sure to ask for more soy sauce.Overall cant say much. Still 3 starsUpd. A friend told me of the best sushi spot in LA, walked right past this place thinking it couldnt be the place. It is. I havent been to every sushi spot but I have been to a lot of sushi in the US. My absolutely favorite Japanese restaurant in LA! I go there to eat sushi rolls every singe week. My favorites are Philadelphia Roll (with cucumber instead of avocado), West Hollywood Roll and Baked Scallops Roll. Also sometimes I order the noodles, and they are always tasty too. At some point this restaurant had potato croquettes what I really loved too. But they are not serving it anymore. Prices at this place are reasonable. The only one issue the restaurant recently has is the staff. Waiters used to be very nice and sweet, and now many waiters are grumpy and not really friendly.

It was nice and quite and not to rowdy with customers but I got a cooked roll and I tasted only like lighter fluid... which made me loose my appetite cuz Ill usually spend well over $100 on sushi. But the customer service was also bland, my sister n I wanted to get more food but once our tickets was empty for the moment the waitress would come over take the ticket crumple it in her hand and walk away... maybe having a bad day? But she did it 2x. Could never get her attention for a refill and when she looked at me she gave attitude. If youre close to Glendale just check out the location on Brand in Glendale. I always went there and loved it. This time I went to this location and... I didnt like it at all. Having the same name doesnt really make the restaurant the same. Many dishes that are available there arent available here. I waited for over 30 minutes just to get the table. Then, many of the rolls I named they didnt have. Also I was told to think fast and order everything in one set because theyre closing.l, but it wasnt my fault that I waited for so long outside when I couldve ordered long time ago. ALSO, just FYI they have their tips included in the check by default!! You dont get to choose the amount nor can you decide whether to tip them or no. They force it on you saying that they can’t do anything because thats just how it is and you gotta go with it

I had a horrible experience today. The seaweed was tough in the two sushi rolls so we asked to send it back. After letting the waiter know, the (I assume) manager came out to ask what was wrong. After letting her know she decided to berate me in front of her other customers. She gave me a suggestion to instead get soy paper when I go to any other restaurant. She was very loud and I just wanted to pay for the two bites I had and leave. She kept talking loudly even after asking for the bill so I could leave. When I got the bill one roll was discounted half price and my friend’s was still full price even though she ate one bite. $25 for 3 total bites of tough sushi. Was very embarrassed and will not be returning.

I no longer live in Los angeles, but every time I do come to visit my family I go to crazy RockN sushi! Their food is by far the freshest sushi and that I have ever had. The waitresses and waiters are right on top of things. They always check on you and they make sure that you are happy. And the portions for the bento boxes are humongous. I wish I had more room in my tummy so I could eat everything.

I would not order here. You have to tell them that you need WASABI for your sushi. Your sushi will arrive with no wasabi on it or soy sauce. Even Sushi from Ralphs comes with wasabi. The staff has gotten LAZY. You can check out the other reviews in the decline of quality of customer service.

Used to be a unique Hollywood sushi spot that I used to frequent here at least once a week. I believe its under new owners and management and my most recent trip was not as good. The pricing is now higher than years back. They offer a bunch of specialty rolls now ranging around the $15 per roll. I can attest that the house salad was a big size and very flavorful, as was a roll called the Caliente Roll. If you like spicy, youll love this.Overall, a but disappointed in a few of the other rolls I ordered and pricing was a bit too costly for what they are offering.

I have been a client to this place for many years and I really love their food and their service. Unfortunately I have to give 2 stars because this past year it feels like their quality has decrease significantly. I dont know if the chef has changed or smth but the same dishes that I always ate do not look nor taste the same. The flavors are not popping, the soups are watery, the sauces are thin and blunt..I dont know, I just spent another $60 today and from the 4 dishes I got only 1 was worth it. Especially disappointed with the mushrooms miso soup that was always my favorite dish and it misses most mushroom varieties that it used to include.

Food is good and if you don’t like cucumber (almost all of it has cucumber) they will leave it out. Staff is friendly. The Japanese beers are considered low end quality in Japan. A few weeks ago, I came to this place with my husband. We ordered food to go. The food was not bad, however all of the tuna was horrible. I placed an order through Postmates. I arrived to pick up my order, and was asked by Jenny for proof of purchase for my order. The order was placed under my name and I was the individual picking up the order. While looking for my proof of purchase, I noticed Postmates did not send me a confirmation email. I said to Jenny that the previous time I was at this restaurant I was not treated like this. She insisted on proof stating that someone went home with an incorrect order.PAUSE: That is a staff/employer issue, not an issue that is passed off onto the customer. An employee made a mistake and gave someone the wrong food, therefore, the restaurant eats the cost for the correction. At no point should the responsibility be passed off to the customer due to an employee error.PLAY: So I needed to login to my bank account to show the pending transaction. Afterwards Jenny handed me my food. As she was handing me my food, I said to her that she only needed to ask for my ID to show that I was the individual who ordered the food. This was an identification issue, not a payment issue. I walked out with my food, and after walking around 200 feet, I turned back around returned the food and requested a refund from Jenny. Jenny advised that I needed to request the refund from Postmates directly.Why was Jennys action so egregious to me? As a Black person I do not need added criminalization for simply being hungry and ordering food. I had been to this restaurant before and was not treated this way. I was not stealing the food. And Jennys actions pointed to her believing that I was stealing food, despite showing up in my medical scrubs. On top of that, it is not like my first name is common in West Hollywood to the point where someone, who is not me, can walk in and guess the name on the order. On top of top of that I gave Jenny my last name. And even on top of all of that my order was the only order available for pick up.I called Postmates for a refund. I was advised by Belle that because the merchant had already prepaid the food, and they needed to be paid, I could not get a refund. So I had no food and was out of my money that I paid for the food. Belle said her hands were tied (paraphrasing). I replied that not only was she denying me a refund, she did not even offer to instead place a credit on the account for the price of the food. The call was eventually disconnected while Belle had me hold.I called right back. Another representative, Glessy, said that my order was not marked as completed, so I could not receive a refund at this time. She told me to wait a bit. I told her if there was nothing by tomorrow, I would call back. I asked her for clarification on what the next steps were. She confirmed that I would receive a refund. During our phone call, I received a voicemail from Matthew from Postmates about the disconnected call. Matthew did not leave a call back number for himself, and simply stated to call back. Thats not helpful Matthew. If youre going to reach out to me, then leave your contact information, not generic information that I am already aware of.I will not come back to this restaurant at all. I do not give any company a second chance to dehumanize or criminalize me. Thanks, Jenny.Later that evening Postmates sent me a coupon or promotion for up to 50% off that expired in 7 days. Postmates is not getting any continued use from me either. I go and spend where I am welcomed and treated humanly.

Ive been to this place many times for a quick bite to eat when shopping at the adjacent stores. I stopped there with my son it was mostly empty after some Christmas shopping at Target. The service was quick as usual, tip the waiter Hubbard behind us pacing back and forth staring at us the whole time we were there, bad move, made us feel very uncomfortable. When the me super arrived, I thought it was pretty mediocre, followed by a solid which was mostly inedible. A huge chunk of a mostly white and very hard tomato, lettuce that was also very hard and hard to manage. I ordered the sushimi plate and my son ordered udon noodles with beef. My son who is a sixteen-year-old Gordon Ramsay fan thought the beef was hard to chew, the noodles were overcooked and the whole thing was in a soup of broth. My sushimi was possible, but the California rolls were very cold, meaning they were not made fresh and were refrigerated. The ponzu sauce lacked the pop of lemon that almost all ponzu sauce possesses.Ive been to this place half a dozen times before this, but today was mostly unacceptable considering the Bell even for the lunch specials was $44. We could have gone to Sugarfish for that amount of money.You all seem like nice people, very pleasant, fast service, but unfortunately we wont be back.

Sushi was good, They just brought all my orders to the small table at the same time and table was full of plates. I think they should slow down and bring your food just a little more spaced out. Oh and I think the plates need better scrubbing, they are a little dirty!

Its a nice place with a decent rolls and sushi that you also can find many other places. So, its a good choice if you are located somewhere close to this place and its absolutely no reason to come here on purpose.

Absolutely horrible did they get fish out of the toilet but that would be impossible because that would be fresher than what they served me. Do not go there unless you like Sushi made in Petco.
