I have been going here for 2 years and I could not ask for a better vet to take my puppy to. They understand each dogs personality and will adjust how they handle and care for them because every dog is unique. The staff is amazingly kind (and they all have such great humor! Via the sign) I took my dog here once to remove a foxtail that had gotten stuck in his paw and they explained the entire surgery process to me and aftercare and now hes back to his regular self. Seriously take your pets here, you wont regret it.

Kelly of CAH was patient, informative, understanding, supportive and respectful. After several days of reviewing other Veterinary Hospitals I always came back to CAH.It was my first call to set-up a first puppy exam for our new family member. I could not be more happy with my decision to make our upcoming appointment.Looking forward to meeting everyone and our puppy’s “Vetiatrician”, (lol). Kelly helped to make the appointment with a Doctor who is knowledgeable about big dogs or the pups who will grow into their feet. 💕👍🏼

Highly recommend. They are friendly and patient to answer all my questions for my baby. I took my baby for the neuter and Dr. Chen is professional to explain the procedure to me and relieve my anxiety. When I pick up my baby for post op, I was a little confused for the charge but frontdesk is in patient to explain the detail of invoice and the tech fully informed me how to care my baby after surgery. They also follow up me to see how my baby doing after the surgery and timely response my concerns. Thank you the team to care my baby.

Andrew? I think is his name? LITERALLY the best catside manner. He really went the extra mile to make sure our shy baby Pumpkin felt comfortable and shared that we should cover her carrier in a towel/blanket for next time. His care and attention to both Pumpkin and Whiskey really meant a lot to us. Whiskey was a little difficult but he was so patient and gave the proper instruction for us to have a smooth visit. They where kind and efficient in saving my puppy Prince Kilo’s life after being stung on the lower lip by a bee Kylo went into anaphylactic shock.. He started seizing, vomiting, and went limp in my handsI was overwhelmed with fear and emotions.I am so grateful they saved him!!!

Good vet. Would just say a bit pushy and unwilling to understand that different dogs do well on different things. In my opinion also fast to give Prozac and other behavioral medicine.

My Bucks first appointment was a very pleasant experience. The staff was kind and the vet was excellent. She took very good care of my Buck and made him feel comfortable on his first exam. Buck cannot wait for his next appointment. He especially loved the treats and the attention he received.

If I could give ten stars, I would!The staff and doctors are very friendly, welcoming andmake sure that you are receiving the best service and care for your four-legged friend. They are thorough and answer all of your questions without rushing you.The lobby/waiting area has always been very pleasant and peaceful, with only one or two other patients, and minimal noise (barking meowing, etc.) This is a stark contrast to other clinics that Ive visited. It makes a big difference for the comfort and security of your pet.They have been very gentle and patient with our cat that isnt the easiest to handle. She was abandoned as a kitten and is fearful as a result. She has improved greatly in the 3 1/2 years that weve had her, but doesnt like going to the vet. In the last few months, she has had multiple health issues, which seem to be clearing up.We appreciate Dr. Chen so much for helping her through some very serious issues. She has shown great care and concern for our pet.Its especially important to us to have such trustworthy care because we had a horrible experience with another clinic around 2014. Due to carelessness from a vet, one of our cats passed away, which was very traumatic.So, if finding the best care for your pet is a priority, I highly recommend Covina Animal Hospital!

Our dog Chico was experiencing what we thought were just allergies he had a rash all over his body and CVH was able to get him in to urgent care the next day! :) The Dr. diagnosed him with Atopic Dermatitis widespread! And Chico is much better after just 3 days of meds👍🏼

Dr Aguilar and Dr Lu, the vet assistants, the techs and front desk all show sincerity and they genuinely want to help your animal. They’ve always taken great care of my dog Brixton in the past. I won’t bother going to any other clinic.

On my worst day, Oct 31st, I made a call to your office ( from Yelp). Me at a distress your front desk rep Jess provided excellent customer service over the phone. She texted me facilities I can take my dying cat to. My cat didnt make it that morning but I appreciate Jess efforts. The vet tech at the Glendora facility recommended CPH for my 2 other kitties. Fast forward 2 weeks. Had a great experience booking appt and when i got off the phone I realize thru call history that this is the same place I called that god awful morning. On our visit the entire team showed so much love and care. Can truly say this was a new experience. Thank you Dr. Lu and team. Boba and I had a wonderful experience.

I saw how high their rating was and saw that their staff is trained with the fear free program so I decided to bring my fear aggressive German shepherd here.When we got there, I called to notify the staff that we were here for our first appointment and that my dog was fear aggressive. It was nice to see that they had a separate entrance and room into the building so that my dog didn’t have to interact with any other pets/people. Although, she wasn’t able to get checked this time, the visit went surprisingly well. My dog usually struggles with walking into buildings, but the staff was super patient and gave us time and space to ourselves to get our dog acclimated to the new environment. They also provided ample amounts of treat for us to give to our dog.We met with Dr. Lu, and she was patient, kind, and tried to learn as much as she could about our dog. She didn’t try to force anything onto us or our pet. Dr. Lu explained things thoroughly and told us that we can take it slow and bring our dog back for more happy visits so that she can get used to coming to the vet.I was also surprised to receive a call from Dr. Lu the evening before our appointment. She saw the notes I left behind about how my dog feels about vet appointments and called ahead of time to inquire more about it to ensure the visit would go as smoothly as possible. This just shows how prepared and dedicated Dr. Lu is!Overall, I would say that our visit was a success for both me and my dog. Vet visits have always been ridden with anxiety for the both of us, since we’ve had bad experiences at other animal hospitals, but I’m happy to say that I’m reassured to bring my pets to Covina animal hospital!We’ll definitely be coming back again. Amazing staff and pet practices here!

Trusted Veterinary practice long time client there. My dog likes Dr Roth. She calls him sir.I last visited on May 21, 2019 for Jojos transition to the rainbow bridge. I called CAH after his other vet office called and cancelled a pre-scheduled euthanasia in their office that Monday mornong. I had Jojo in my Truck already, I had 2 male friends carry him for me. I had since Thursday to make peace with my decision and they cancelled it? I didnt want to go through that morning twice. I called CAH and when they heard what happened they made room for us right away. I even got in around the same time as the other vet had put aside for us. They turned an bad start to an already emotional day better. They always treat my pets with utmost respect and I am grafeful they were there for us.

My dog was experiencing some discomfort and wheezing. Drove straight to this place because it was the first place open at 730am. Walked in without an appointment and they evaluated my dog to make sure she was stable. I truly appreciate that I wasn’t sent away to try and find a place that was open to be seen. Also, the fact they examined my dog before leaving the facility. and gave me a piece of mind. I highly recommend this place because they were professional/compassionate to go out of their way. I honestly can’t think of anything that could have made our experience better. The service was fantastic! The service was friendly, timely, and informative. I think the prices are fair for the quality service you and your pet get. In addition, the facility is clean and well maintained. Also, I really like how everyone takes the time to answer all my questions and ensure that I understand everything we discussed. Also, I really appreciate how Dr. Contreras agreed to see my puppy sooner than his scheduled appointment because I was worried about him...I really appreciate them fitting us in, especially on such short notice. Im sure this is a great animal hospital but its not the only great animal hospital out there there are many. I was overwhelmed when I called and asked how much one x-ray would be and they told me the cheapest one was $550 for one x-ray. That is the most ridiculous rip-off I have ever heard of from a vet office. Like I said theres so many good vets out there and I did my own research called six animal hospitals very good rated animal hospitals and not one of them had an x-ray that cost over $200. So yeah if you can afford if if you have a lot of money or a credit cards yeah go to Covina animal hospital but if youre like me on a fixed income that does not have $500 for one x-ray then no. Even if I had the money I would not go there because its basically stealing from people because of their ratings.

This place is awesome, its always clean and they really do care about our pets. They offer calming bandanas if needed. They also work with you and your pet to help make you and your pet feel comfortable. Yes it is a bit costly, but the services you and your pet get is worth every penny. I absolutely love this vet. I started coming to them about 4 or 5 years ago when I got my dog and theyre always so patient with her and accommodate her needs. I like how flexible they are with appointment scheduling over the phone. It is a little difficult to contact them at first as their listed googe phone number is not the correct phone number. The correct number is on their website. It is better to call for an appointment than use the website as the web appointment page will only give you 3 hours (10 am - 12 pm a day to book an appointment. They are very good and kind to the animals. Their prices are fair.

I love this vet. All the vets and supporting staff are so nice. The facility is extra clean. Im a new dog mom and I always have a lot of questions. They always take the time to listen to me and make me feel comfortable even when my questions may seem silly. My pup Preston had a very pleasant experience this weekend. The staff member who came out to get him from my car made him very comfortable and relaxed. When the day before I had taken him to the ER and the staff there needed to muzzle him to pick him up out of the car. It was the calm and welcoming nature of the staff at Covina Animal Hospital and giving him the freedom to walk out of the car on his own that made him not even try to put up a fight when examining him. The best animal hospital weve been to. The staff is super friendly, very trustworthy and seem to genuinely care about the well-being of the animals that are brought in. They were very understanding that our cat is very timid around people and took their time with him, making him feel comfortable like he was their own. Our favorite Vet is Dr. Lisa Contreras-- shes very smart, compassionate and caring! Though if you cant see her, the other doctors are also wonderful and your animal will be well taken care of. We highly recommend bringing your pets here! (Also as a sidenote- this facility is very clean, and the environment is pretty calming for animals. The lobby is very spacious so you dont feel like youre on top of other people and their pets.)

My last visit went really well since the last time at the height of the pandemic. I enjoyed the option to still have curb side even though the lobby was now open, and the individuals who assisted me and Kiwi were very caring and knowledgeable. Honestly I have nothing bad to say and really glad I found this place. It also wasnt crowded, which I was afraid of, so I think I found a good timeslot too. I thank everyone there for their work and professionalism. They made my pet feel safe and it was fast. I also enjoyed the follow-up after the vaccinations to make sure my pet was feeling ok. Covina Animal Hospital was recommended by our old vet clinic (which has closed). He did really well there and is fully recovering. I believe the service fees might be higher than the old clinic, but well worth the peace of mind!

I adopted my first dog two weeks ago and came to Covina Animal Hospital a week after I got him. It was the first time my dog (Blue) and I have ever been to animal hospital so we both were nervous at first not knowing what to expect. As soon as we walked in we were both happily greeted by the staff at the first desk, Blue fell in love with one of the employees there (Kellie) who did a great job calming Blue down when she saw how nervous he was. Took great care of my cat Tom. He had a full mouth extraction, scary but needed it. He appears to be on the mend and they walk you through it, at every step. After the procedure they check in with you to see if you have any questions or problems. They offer tips and advice which put me at ease. Doctor Contreras and Simon are the best, actually the whole staff are pretty awsome, I had a great experience.

As always, the nurses (are they called nurses?) are the nicest, most competent group of people I have to deal with. When it comes to my dog I am vulnerable. I want her to live the longest most comfortable life possible. But heres the rub; I know nothing about veterinarian medicine (or any medicine for that matter) so I am in a very exposed position, ripe to be taken advantage of. I hate that. Honestly I couldnt have asked for a better visit. Im a first time pup owner and I went to a vet in the Venice Beach area that was awful. My girlfriend recommended I take Einstein to the Covina Animal Hospital since she takes her dogs there. The only place that puts my mind at ease when it comes to my little buddy. A lot of vets currently don’t allow you in the exam room or even inside at all. You have to wait outside. Not this place. I get to be there with my little puppy and the vets there really know what they’re talking about. My Bella needed surgery and I was especially concerned for her. Shortly after I dropped her off, I received a text photo of her in her holding cubicle with a stuff toy and a blanket with a caption saying I am doing ok mommy. Ive been taking my dogs to CAH for more years than I care to admit. They are ALWAYS kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Ive had to put to sleep 3 dogs due to age and/or illness and the care and compassion the different vets have shown to both me and my dogs has been a source of solace at a very difficult time. Ive even received sympathy cards from the vets after the euthanasia has taken place. I respect the doctors opinions and they understand that I do not have a money tree in the backyard and try to give me options that are affordable. I wouldnt take my animals anywhere else.

The first thing you notice is that you are walking into a brand new building. It is large, clean, and gorgeous. The second thing you notice is that the people at the front desk are very friendly and greet you with a smile. The third thing you notice (with an appointment) is that you dont wait very long to be taken to the room, usually by the doctor herself. Have only met one doctor there, Dr. Dais, who is very personable, knowledgeable, and speaks in terms you understand. She is very thorough and very honest. The prices are a little higher here than at most other vets Ive been to, but I truly feel they are worth it for the care you receive. I initally went there for a second opinion for my elderly cat. I have since switched vet care for both my cats and dog to CAH.

My name is Wendy and I just moved to Azusa from El Monte. We had a vet we used in Temple City but in this heat it was too far to go for my kitty. So I took my cat to the Covina Animal Hospital on 07/06/2018. The facility is very clean and spacious. It is a tad bit expensive but well worth it. After all, you get what you pay for. They have a referral rewards program where you and the person you will get a $10.00 credit for referring someone. Also they have a pets reward membership that gives you discounts and such. Well I have bad carpal tunnel so I wasnt able to carry my fat cat in by myself. I called them from my car and asked if someone could help me bring him in. Someone came out and got my kitty and took us directly into an exam room through the back door. The doctor, Dr. Auyeung came in right away. She is wonderful. Very caring and thorough. The assistant, Denise, was so sweet, patient and explained everything so that I could understand. My cat is much better thanks to these people!

Why is it so many of this Clinic’s reviews discuss a positive euthanization experience? Wouldn’t it be better to read reviews about how this Clinic saved pets’ lives? That’s because the Vets at this Clinic do not have the skillset, knowledge and medical science background to save your pet’s life. After being a naïve client for 15 years, I took my cat who was experiencing breathing problems to this Clinic; they knew the cat’s medical history. The cat has a history of asthma but there was clearly something else going on. They took an x-ray and told me they would have results in approximately one week. They also told me the law required cats to be vaccinated for rabies, alternatively, trying to sell me a vaccine. REALLY? First, no law exists on the books in California, and second, the Vet didn’t know how to do a preliminary read of the x-ray. Several days later, I called and asked for the x-ray results because I knew my cat would be gone in a matter of days or hours. I was told to pay an additional $35 to get the x-rays back on a stat. UNBELIEVABLE, why didn’t they tell me that when they took the x-ray? I demanded the Clinic send me the x-ray image as well as the radiology report that concluded possible pneumonia with severe asthma. Can you believe this place didn’t even schedule a follow-up appointment for my cat, they told me the treating Vet would be back in four days. I marched myself to San Dimas Pet Clinic. The doctor examined my cat within a 15-minute phone call, evaluated the x-rays and came up with a treatment plan that saved my cat’s life. The doctors at San Dimas Pet Clinic were former emergency room doctors so they know how to read x-rays, make split second decisions, and come up with a treatment plan. My cat is now able to breathe freely again, a critical life function. San Dimas Pet Clinic also took additional x-rays, charged me half the price of Covina Animal Hospital, and the radiology report was back within 24 hours. Therefore, if you want a good euthanization experience, go to Covina Animal Hospital, if you want to save your pet’s life, go to San Dimas Pet Clinic … it’s as simple as that. I actually live down the street from Walnut Valley Animal Hospital, but the recommendation from my friend, Susie, made me want to try Covina Animal Hospital. We have been to MANY animal hospitals from Los Angeles to Pasadena, to Ontario with a few things in common- most had office staff that were not polite. It was like a trend or expectation of all office staff, and the doctors were more of an Lets get you out of here quickly by not explaining in detail what the issue of your pet it.....Then one day, as I was dog food shopping, the store manager and I got to talking about animal hospitals. She recommended Covina Animal Hospital specifically naming Dr. Dais as the doctor to see. So, apprehensively, I took my furkid, Eskimo, to check out the hospital. I say apprehensively because another friend told me NOT to go to this hospital because of her experience many years ago. As I entered, I was greeted by the kind office staff, then I met Dr. Dais. In a nutshell, I knew I had finally found the place to take my furkids! Dr. Dais is a GREAT doctor explaining EVERYTHING in detail for me to be able to digest the information and make decisions based on that information. But not only is she a great doctor because she is able to explain everything in detail, but Eskimo I knew was getting very well taken care of. Eskimo has since went to heaven in November. No fault of any of her doctors. (I say doctors because she also saw specialists in addition to her regular doctor). I now have a new furkid, Hunter, and his first stop after coming to live with us was to visit with Dr. Dais. But to my surprise, the office had moved a few feet over from its original place and WOW! What an office it is!! A very comfortable feeling, the receptionists are WONDERFUL and welcoming, the vet techs are great! and of course Dr. Dais is now Hunters doctor. In all my shopping around for animal hospitals, Covina Animal Hospital, has everything I need in a hospital, Outstanding doctors, caring vet techs, welcoming receptionists, and a beautiful ambiance!

I have been going to CAH for almost 23 years since my parents took our dogs to CAH as well. I had a few issues in the last few years with one of my dogs and I didnt make it a big deal but just let it go. I went in just recently to have my 9 year old dogs teeth cleaned. The exam was done by Dr. A. Ortmayer just prior to her going in to have her teeth cleaned. I was concerned that they were going to pull too many teeth when they go to clean her teeth since she was just transitioning back to dry dog food as per the instruction of the same animal hospital (CAH) but different doctor just 2 months ago when I took her in for something else to be seen for an issue she was having on her back hind area. When expressing my concern about pulling 6 plus teeth to Dr. Ortmayer about this, Dr. Ormayer got very upset with me raising her voice and saying word for word to me I am trying to take care of your damn dog! She was not only unprofessional in the way she spoke to me, but she also did this in the presence of my daughter who was standing there with me as well. After she threw her temper out at me, she then would not look me in the eye, but then proceeded to talk to my daughter about what she wanted to do and how she was so set on pulling all of these teeth. She also accused me of being like most dog owners that want to feed their dog dry dog food so it makes it easy on the owner not to always have to set a feeding schedule. She was not listening to me when I was expressing my concerns because I also told her that this is not the case with me and feeding my dog due to the fact that I also have exotic birds that are a feeding schedule of 3 times a day so I dont mind feeding my dog soft dog food but that I incorporate the feeding schedule of the birds with the dogs as well. I also pointed out that the other doctor that did the prior exam on my dog 2 months prior was the one that instructed me to have my dog to go back on dry dog food again to avoid the situation that she was having with her butt area and that it would help for her to not have so much tarter build up as quickly as it would when feeding soft dog food. I did not argue with her since I will not argue with someone who thinks that they are above everyone else and they are not there to listen to your concerns but to speak out and do what they want to do no matter how the dog owner feels or questions about having a procedure done and their health. Dr. Ortmayer was not only unprofessional but also was upset at the fact that I was taking up her time since it was early in the AM and she wanted to get the dogs in for surgery so she can just burn and turn them essentially making the quota for the day not being caring enough to answer my concerns with my dog and having all of these teeth removed all at once. I will not allow anyone to talk to me in a derogatory way including this doctor. The other staff members were present when this happened and they were embarrassed as well with the behavior of this doctor and how she was raising her voice and not allowing me to talk in an adult manner. I go to other vet hospitals for my other animals of where they specialize in that species and I have never ever had a problem with a vet talking terrible towards me like I did with the way Dr. Ortmayer did to me just yesterday. CAH is very costly and this doctor is also a partner/owner in CAH in which she does take a financial interest in the business overall. I do not want anyone else to go through with what I had to go through where she not only belittles you, but she also will show her true colors in her temper tantrum when you are questioning something that she wants to do with your animal. Please be aware also that I have posted on other social media websites and there was someone else that came forward with having the same issue as me when dealing with Dr. Ortmayer. They are very expensive when you can go to a 24 hour emergency vet clinic and pay almost the same if not less of a price for your animal to be seen.

During the last 45 years, whenever we have lived in the Covina area, we have asked Covina Animal Hospital to take care of our dog(s). The veterinarians have always been very professional and also friendly and understanding. The current clinic doctors are obviously not the same as those of 45 years ago nor do we have the same dog. But I was very impressed when we returned to this area and once more engaged the services of Covina Animal Hospital. The initial check up of a recently acquired rescue dog was extremely thorough and impressive.

My husbandss family have been taking their pets to Covina Animal Hospital since the mid-1960s, so when I got married to my husband and we inherited my moms cat, thats where we took him. Many years later, after Snowys death and I inherited another cat, this time from my dad, I still took Lucky to CAH. Now, after Lucky died, we adopted 2 cats from PetSmart Glendora, and all 4 cats have received excellent care over the years. All the vets are wonderful, but in the Lucky years and now with Bart and Lisa, we usually ask for appointments with Dr. Dais. She is truly wonderful, and helped us with Lucky in his declining health. I heartily recommend Covina Animal Hospital!
