Great place to stay but the air conditioning should be addressed. We have stayed at this property atleast 5 times and only half the time does the room get cool or stay cool. This is especially frustrating during the night. No matter what we did, the temp would not go below 70 degrees. Other than that, my only gripe is the half shower doors that allows water to go everywhere.Pros: Staff, Parking, Firepits, Pool, Food/Drink options, Clean, Easy Parking.

Fantastic property at a nice and quiet location. Not sure how old the place is but it’s in excellent condition and very clean. Comfortable beds with some of the best pillows. Jeffery at the front desk is awesome and knows how to treat guests. Highly recommend the property.

Marriott Angora HillsI was absolutely blown away by my experience at this location from the service, amenities and comfort.I travelled with two teens all over northern and Southern California for a two week period. We stayed in a new hotel every night except this location we stayed two nights three days, we stayed in high end Ritz to low-end as Fairfield. Marriott chain is my go to when booking hotels. This Marriott was our favorite even better than Ritz Laguna niguel.Jose at front desk, check in was the most memorable of our two week travels. He went above and beyond and I have stayed at over 1,000 hotels. He left such an impression that I already rebooked for a visit February 2025.The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The shower pressure was excellent and the room sizes were decent.I do wish we would have stayed on the Townplace Suites side for the kitchen and free breakfast which I plan to book that for my trip in February.The hotel has a Starbucks cafe and able to make lattes which was a huge plus. The location of the hotel was 10-30 minutes from Malibu beaches which is why we initially booked here - guess what the kids loved the pool and hotel so much we didn’t make it to Malibu beaches.This location is close to everything and such a decent price.

Late check-in around 10 pm got to the room decided to request a change. front desk instead of asking for the reason for the change.. she rather said they were sold out knowing we had pre-paid the reservation. So why request a different room? There was a floor blower in the middle of the room bathroom was still not cleaned trash bin was on the counter. Took a picture from the parking lot being the room was on the first floor. This would be one of those coincidences that happen a lot in hotels.. but still, it is always good practice that the room is verified ready for guests. Especially late at night.

Nice location that has a great scenic view. Calm and quiet depends on your room. The town suite behind the veterinary is quieter than the other side. The breakfast buffet is decent and for the crowd the service is a little slow and everyone doesnt get their share. The staff is very friendly but the room service is not that great. You really have to tell them to keep towels, body lotion etc.,

This is basically a brand new hotel built in 2019 and open in 2020. I was looking for an affordable alternative in the area that wasnt in the $300 and this hotel came in almost half that and a mile from 101. The staff was awesome and combined our reservation into one room with a discount. Our room was on the first floor two queen beds a dining table and mini kitchen with a working stove and a fridge. Just what my family needed. Thank will be back again for sure.

Had a great stay here this week and would recommend this hotel to other travelers. The hotel offers a bunch of amenities since it’s a dual brand property so you’ll find things like an expanded Bistro restaurant, grills, fire pits, and a comprehensive gym. Staff are friendly and we’re even able to accommodate an early check in request. Rooms are spacious and housekeeping does a fantastic job of cleaning them. I would happily stay here again given the opportunity.

The room is a little cramped and the shower is open, but other than that its a five star experience. The complimentary breakfast is out of this world: they have non dairy milk in a little refrigerator and a make your own cereal bar. The turkey sausage and cage free muffins are also bomb. Its situated right across the street from some steep hills and is next door to LA Fitness and a whole host of world class dining opportunities. Definitely a grade A California experience here.

Stayed here for a stopover as we drove from Carmel to San Diego. Wanted to stay in Malibu but prices were extremely high.This had a decent location set back from the highway. Large car park and we checked in around 8:30 pm. Guy on reception was friendly and welcoming.The room was very clean and spacious and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. I wish we had time to use the facilities, the pool looked very welcoming in the morning sun but we had to make tracks for Malibu. The drive down the mountains was spectacular

One of our best hotel stays ever! The service was great, the rooms were so nice and the beds were the most comfortable beds weve ever slept in. Its in a peaceful area, hotel was quiet, they have a Starbucks inside with bistro (definitely try the breakfast)! The pool area was gorgeous and they have fires going when its cool so you can still enjoy sitting outside. It is close to a few great restaurants, in walking distance to an amazing Tavern with Ladyface brewery. This was or unexpected hidden gem of a hotel 💖

Great location. Clean rooms and friendly staff. My family checked out a bunch of rooms (about 10) and we all agree that the mattresses are comfortable but the pillows are horrible. Bring your own pillow or wake up with a headache. Youve been warned.Reply to your reply: not even comparing it to my favorite pillow. Your pillows are more comparable to a bean bag. I woke up with a headache. Please start a survey regarding your pillows. This will be fun. Haha!

Stayed here for a night. Room was clean but there were very few services available. There was no toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving kit. Shower was not working properly, could not adjust water pressure. They didnt have complimentary breakfast, even just one coffee/ creamer sachet. I found it overpriced as compared to the service provided.

Another two weeks spent at my California home. I always feel welcome when I come to visit my friends and use this Marriott as my homebase, since moving to Oregon. Most friendly and helpful staff were: Josh, ( a manager), Francisco (night audit), Markeisha and Fabiola. All were welcoming, professional and always ready to make sure everything was perfect during my stay. I look forward to my next trip!

The rooms felt new and clean and were relatively spacious. We had a view of the hills which was pretty nice.The front desk told my friend that there wasn’t good service for Uber/Lyft out there and gave her the number of a reputable taxi driver. He was pretty expensive, just to go 10 min away, so she called an Uber and had no issue. She also used Uber to take her back to LA after the weekend was over and did not run into any issues

Perfect location for what we needed, and still close to Malibu, Calabasas and other areas.Clean room, but with challenges:- it could be a bit larger, but it was ok- there are NO glasses, nor bottles of water (we are Gold Bonvoy Members)- there is NO magnifying mirror in the bathroom- other than 2 hooks in the bathroom, and the hanging bar in the closet, there’s no way of hanging anything in the room- there’s only one (ceiling) light in the bathroom, making it hard to do one’s own makeup- biggest issue of all: the air conditioner is only triggered/turned on when the room’s movement sensor senses movement. That means that, during the night, when you are asleep, and not moving, the air conditioning remains off - not great at all, especially at a place where it can be pretty hot at nightThe pool is great, the lobby area is also great for groups, and overall the place is very well kept.The staff is super friendly and efficient.

When we arrive they told us that the cleaning services was every other day. The day that the service was supposed to be done it wasn’t done. When I spoke with the front desk at 2:00 pm she couldn’t careless, her respond was, yes you are in schedule to be clean today some time jajaja.The room is nice the bed confortable the towels are horrible.

Spent a week with family in this hotel and we had a great time. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The patio and the pool with the firepits add a really nice touch to have some wine and chat in the evening.I will come back anytime here when in L.A.

We stayed 2 separate nights in June, at the beginning of our trip and at the end with our 2 young kids. Everything was great, clean and super comfortable. We got a room with 2 queen beds which worked great for us. Shower gel would be helpful in the bathroom rather than just a lil bar of soap. The first night we stayed we enjoyed their grab and go breakfast before we headed out on the rest of our journey. There was something for everyone and great coffee. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and modern. We particularly liked the walk-in shower. We didnt use any amenities since it was a quick stay but wed def book again if we were in the area.

An overpriced motel, we stayed to attend a wedding nearby. The room was ok, if rather bland. Problems included the absence of daily room cleaning and towel service and the location next to the county animal shelter. Barking and whining dogs do not make for a quiet night’s sleep! Would not recommend or stay there again as there several similar places further from the dog pound.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous nights since November of 2021 as my company opened a new business nearby. Overall, the staff is incredible and my stays are pleasant. I would agree with all the reviews that this hotel front desk is really bad and lacks serious customer service. Very rude, poor phone etiquette and make you feel like you are a severe bother to them. I do however want to give a HUGE shout out to Jeffrey as he is the ONLY employee at the front desk with proper customer service and excels in delivering a excellent experience! I now tell all my colleagues when booking or needing assistance at this hotel to only ask for him. Congrats to Jeffrey! You are a rockstar! The bartender is also by the the best! Your lucky to have these two on your team!For the rest of you and your management team…step it up!Coming from an Ambassador Elite.

I had stayed here for one night when I got home and realized that I forgot my makeup pouch in the room. Unfortunately it took them a day to found a pouch, there were 10 items in the pouch and they were mostly brand new but it was returned to me only 5 old items and also I had to pay for shipping. I felt those returned items could have been contaminated and I dont feel safe to use them. I talked to the PM manager and he wont do anything to compromised the lost of my personal belonging. He clearly said that hotel will not responsible what left behind the room. However, why there were returned half of them so where were the rest go?? Good thing they were not anything valuable, memorable items. Sadly, I will not returned to this hotel and Marriott as a whole due to bad customer service and unprofessional.

I stayed here for a night for business and was overall very pleased with the experience. It is currently brand new (hair dryer never used before me!), and the rooms and overall property reflect this status and a nice quality overall. The room I received was slightly on the small side (king bed placed nearly against the wall), but it was plenty large enough for me, and the couch was firmly comfortable. The outdoor lounge/pool area as viewed from my room made me wish I had more time to relax there. The service was also excellent overall, both with a friendly check-in experience as well as a fast delivery to my room from the marketplace when I realized I was missing an amenity I needed.I docked a star due to the temperature status of the room. I tend to sleep warm and like to blast the a/c at night to counteract that. The room thermostats lowest temperature setting was limited to 68 degrees, which is warmer than I prefer for sleeping but is manageable. Unfortunately, the a/c system was not very efficient, and the actual temperature of the room remained at 72-73 degrees all night despite the 68 setting and an outside night temperature in the low 60s. For many that temp may be sufficient (or even low!), but it did make my sleep more restless than I would hope. Despite that, overall, it was a nice stay.

We were so lucky to stay here the first night it opened! We love getting away from the heat of our home in Palm Springs and coming to Malibu and this hotel popped up and looked beautiful. And it is, the beautiful glamorous decor, the massive different comfortable lounge areas, caring and attentive staff, and clean rooms are the reason we will definitely make this our main hotel to come to in Malibu and make sure to let all of our friends know too. Super clean, beautiful decor, great staff definitely a great place to stay I would highly recommend to everyone !

This is an excellent choice. It’s a new hotel and spotlessly clean. Room design is perfect—small but spacious with plenty of outlets and wall USB ports. Bright spacious bathroom and shower. There are two room types—a king with a pullout sofa or 2 queens with no sofa. There is a mini-fridge. The staff is excellent—above average attention and service. Highly recommended. 🏆

So we are at the beginning of our stay and already some disappointment. I requested extra towels three times and it took me walking to the front desk to retrieve them myself. There are 4 of us in the room and they had given 3 bath towels...1 of which had a dried blood stain on it. Plus side there is breakfast regardless if you stay with Townsend Suites or Courtyard. The pool is quite popular, so be prepared to find a small crowd there. I will update my review along the way.

This property is split between two different brands - Courtyard and Townplace. I’ve stayed at both and prefer the Courtyard by far. 2-star rating is due to the lack of cleaning on the Townplace side) and having to babysit my Bon Voy account to get credit earned with my stays here.The beds are comfortable and rooms are nice size. The property can be loud if staying in a room along the highway or north side of hotel (animal shelter next door). It’s convenient to the 101 as well. A bit isolated in terms of restaurants nearby. LA Fitness is next door but gym is doable at hotel.Recommend NEVER booking the Townplace side. My only attempt to stay on Townplace side included not just 1 but 2 dirty rooms. Ultimately I requested to be moved to Courtyard side, which the front desk accommodated after I showed them someone’s dirty towel was under my sink (and let them know I didn’t have any clean towels which I realized when I was getting out of shower so had to use the one and only washcloth to dry off). The room switch apparently caused issues crediting my prepaid stay for Bon Voy points. I’ve been trying for 2.5 months to get it resolved.Location is super convenient to my office otherwise I would find another Marriott property that is more consistent and doesn’t hassle me for Marriott points.UPDATE: As you can see the property GM responded and claims my points were added. That is absolutely NOT TRUE. As of 8/13/22, I am still missing credit for the 2 nights I stayed on the Courtyard side of this property. I have spent way too much time groveling for points that should be automatic. RIDICULOUS!!!

It would have been great, but when we arrived at the hotel at 3:30 on Saturday afternoon hoping for early check in, due the fact that we had a wedding to attend at 5:00, we were told that we would have to wait until check in time. Between 4 and 4:15 we checked with the desk 5 times to see if there was a room ready yet, and kept being told no. We did not get into our room until 4:20. leaving us less than a half an hour to get ready for a wedding! 45 minutes would have been tight - seriously?!?

We only stayed one night, so didnt get to experience many amenities. Its a good place to stay in the area, just a bit confusing to navigate inside. I do like how the AC is central, and not noisy individual units. Bathrooms are very large.

I have been very disappointed by my stay. First, the hotel was apparently build next to some kind of dog shelter so there were dogs barking practically all day & night. It would stop for various periods of time, but then it would start back up again. Second, there is no door on the bathroom shower. This seems to be a trend among many hotels these days, so its not just this particular hotel doing it, but they really need to stop making showers this way because water gets EVERYWHERE. Im talking large pools of water all over the floor. We would put down a full sized towel at the base of the shower and by the time we were done showering, it would be completely soaked and wed have to throw it in the hallway so that it wouldnt continue to make the floor wet. Third, the restaurant and bar were closed so I had to go elsewhere for everything. Im assuming this was because of Covid, but I dont understand why it hasnt opened back up. This leads me to my next point, which is not particularly the hotels fault, but I think people should be aware, because I had to go elsewhere for food and drinks, that meant I had to take an Uber everywhere. Well apparently, Uber drivers dont want to come all the way out here. I Ubered to a restaurant for dinner and the Uber driver yelled at me (which was totally inappropriate) for having to go 20 minutes out of his way to come out here (which is his own fault, he should have declined the job). When I went to leave the restaurant, Uber couldnt find any drivers willing to come out here. It searched for 10 minutes and eventually just cancelled the job which meant I HAD TO WALK BACK TO THE HOTEL. Long story short, unless youve rented a car, be warned that you might have trouble getting a ride anywhere.

Been here 3 years ago, everything was fine, came back again, so many group people hangout outside and the lobby at midnight, loud and smoking, the room smell like goodwill and dog feet, the pillows bed sheet smells very bad, there is no door in the shower and water pressure is very weak, very bad wont ever come back again .

Its a very clean hotel and conveniently located, BUT I will never stay here again. The dual General Managers at this property were so extremely rude and unprofessional, especially Jim F. He argued with us for over 20 minutes in the lobby in front of many guests, he was rude, arrogant and rather than appeasing us, went out of his way to be humiliating and condescending. We had a number of issues at EVERY stage of our booking and stay, which both Jim and Brian. the General Mangers failed to take care of or mange in a courteous, or professional manner. We left feeling deeply upset by the experience.

Ive been on a job in LA that keeps getting extended so Ive been here almost a week now... Everyone on staff has been overtly friendly, polite and accommodating to all of my needs... I drove to LA from NYC and stayed in Courtyards all along the way and so far this has been my favourite... If i ever return to Thousand Oaks again for work id mostly stay here again after such a pleasant experience°

A brilliant hotel right on the freeway (which you cant hear in the building). Very centrally located. The rooms are nice and compliant, most of them newly renovated. Beautiful large bathroom. The pool is heated to 33 degrees and is ideal for a swim in the slightly cool morning (or evening).Check in was very pleasant, quick processing, all employees were extremely friendly. There is a large barbecue area by the pool where you can fry your own steak. Fitness room well equipped and open 24 hours! Washing machines available… Great! The only disadvantage… there is no restaurant other than a bar with snacks (and good drinks).However, the area is teeming with restaurants and fast food establishments.Conclusion: We actually only wanted to stay one night, but decided to extend it. Nice hotel that really impressed us, with a very, very good price-performance ratio. Top! This house has three stars, we give it five!! Absolutely good, highly recommended.
