Currently staying at the Courtyard in Monterey Park, Ca. The room is fine. Clean and spacious when we arrived. The room was not properly cleaned during our stay, for example the bed was not made, bathroom not cleaned. No diversity in cuisine nearby.However, my biggest complaint is the amount of non guests loitering in the hotel. Its actually unbelievable the amount of people using the lobby that are not guests at the hotel! Big groups of people seem to use the area to hang out. So much so that you will find it difficult to find a place to sit and work if you are a guest here and want to sit and work in the lobby. I waited over 30 minutes for a chair and that was only because of the amount of non guests. I dont get it. There is only a Starbucks in the lobby. Surely there are other Starbucks nearby. Why do the locals use this one???? They have signs on the tables and chairs saying for guests only and that they may ask for room key to verify. But, they never check. I would not stay here again based on how crowded it is. And it seems very unsecure to me that random people have access to the amenities that I, as a guest, have paid for. And, unsafe to have so many unverified people roaming the hotel. You need a key to use the elevator to the rooms. But I had a situation where someone without a key asked me to use mine to go up to the rooms. I declined based on the amount of non guests loitering. It seems unsafe. I suggest staying elsewhere until they implement some safety here.

I travel a great deal for wok. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Seriously. This is not a hotel you want to stay. The room was inadequate; housekeeping services non existent and when someone did show up to clean my room they left plenty of hair in the sink, toilet and the shower.The flood in the hotel was the really bad, but really bad. Don’t take me wrong, great staff in the 555 Restaurant but horrible, unacceptable food.Go someplace else, avoid this hotel at ALL Cost.

First off, the customer service is second to none. Super friendly, nice location, and priced right. Yes, it is surrounded by residential, but that isnt a negative, in my opinion. Felt safe and close to downtown LA. Plenty of eateries within walking/driving distance, we drove!

Very nice place to stay. 2 nice restaurants inside and a small breakfast place with good coffee. Rooms were clean and bathrooms are very big with extra large showers. Good amount of parking below. We had a expedition and parking spots were plenty big for it. If you need to do any work they had nice cubicles set up with computers and fax/copiers.

Nice newer hotel. Dear Management : Would you please replace some of the free weights in the fitness room? They are worn out or broken. Also, several free weight dumbells are missing. Some of the equipment needs cleaned or maintenance but overall it is a pretty good fitness room for the price.The Cafe is nice. Reasonably priced and tasty. Chef Tony is also pretty good.

Stayed at this hotel - the AC was broken and the room temperature was 80 degrees.They did not provide me with another room because they were fully booked nor did they transfer me to another property.My family member has medical issues and has a medical alert dog….I took my family and booked other accommodation immediately.Please do not stay hereNote: that Marriott policy states under the “ultimate reservation guarantee” that the hotel needs to provide you compensation and accommodations at another hotel if they can not provide you a room.

Terrible experience so far. they gave me the wrong room. I booked a one bed 2 queen suite. They gave me a one king. We dont fit. the staff showed a lack of remorse, was unapologetic. They also did not refund the difference between costs.

Everything is new and fresh but theres a number of issues with their service. 1st night we checked in there was no hot water, short of towels, we called the front desk to ask for towels but no one came, asked if I can go downstairs to pickup and was told that they dont have access to the towel room. Second night, still short on towels. 3rd night is the same. The room wasnt cleaned properly throughout our stay. The WiFi on our floor, 5th never worked. Strong signal but no connection to the outside world.

Dont choose a room with a door in the room that leads to the next room, because the sound insulation effect is really poor. If we speak at a normal volume, guests from the next room will knock on the door violently and scare us. We cough and blow our noses🤧The same goes for the next door So, besides, this is normal time and not the middle of the night sleep time. Really a very bad accommodation experience

Sound proofing is so bad here. I could hear upstairs stomping and running from 10pm to 2am. Tried to complain three times to front desk but no use.Room service was also very slow. They didnt give us any shower gel the first night. We had to call and follow up a few times before they delivered the shower gel. It took well over 30 minutes.The room looks decent but if you look closer, it is very dusty.

Upon entering, the ambiance seemed inviting, but our excitement quickly turned to disgust and horror.My friend and I ordered what seemed like promising dishes--the Short Rib Quesadillas and Smash Burger. However, our anticipation was shattered when we discovered several hairs entangled within the Short Ribs Quesadillas. Even worse, upon biting into the seemingly appetizing Smash Burger, we were met with the unmistakable taste of raw meat, resulting in severe food poisoning. Adding to the nightmare, Five55s hygiene was appalling, with roaches scurrying across our table.When we voiced our legitimate concerns to our server, her response was shockingly dismissive and disrespectful. Instead of addressing our distress, she responded with an immature and insensitive attitude, laughing off our complaints and leaving us feeling belittled and disregarded.In an attempt to escalate the issue, we sought the manager. Unfortunately, his response was equally disheartening. He callously brushed aside our grievances, displaying a complete lack of empathy or accountability, and defended their questionable practices.Shockingly, when we informed them of our intention to write a review about our experience, both the server and manager callously laughed at us and replied that they didnt care. Save yourself the anguish and avoid this place at all costs. There are far better options where you can dine in a clean environment, enjoy safe food, and receive respectful treatment.

Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Monterey Park was the easiest solution for a recent family event. We opted to stay in a hotel instead of making a turn-around trip that required a 2-hour drive each way - during the busy Christmas weekend. It was a smart move.Booking was simple - I used my Marriott Bonvoy app to make the reservation for a suite to accommodate our family for an overnight stay.Note: Prior to booking the reservation, I scouted the surrounding area and neighboring hotels. I was sold by a few factors: (1) it had a boba shop inside the hotel (LOL), (2) each bathroom has a bidet, (3) it’s still close to Los Angeles without the Pasadena or LA stay, and (4) it looked new.FINDING THE HOTELGetting here was simple. I used my GPS to guide me to the hotel without any issues.Upon entry onto the hotel property, I appreciated the clear signage for drop-off (right side of driveway) and the lane that leads to the parking (left side of driveway).CHECK-IN / BONVOY APPCheck-in was easy. I was sent an email reminder (and a Bonvoy app notification) to check-in in advance. I was able to edit my arrival time on the app. The app also allowed me to have Mobile Key. It was simple to set up thru the app. Once I got to the hotel, I still physically checked-in to get actual hotel room access cards. And I’m glad I did because I had issues with my Mobile Key!FRONT DESK & LOBBY - FIRST IMPRESSIONSAnyway the lady at the front desk was kind but wasn’t thorough with explaining the parking ticket until I had come down from checking into my room to ask about it. It was then when she explained that it was what I needed to enter/exit into the parking structure.The lobby was large and inviting, and it was beautifully decorated with a large Christmas tree. I was surprised to see so much seating and a lot of tables. The lobby looked like the largest (and prettiest) Courtyard Marriott I’ve personally stayed at. Whatever scent they had to freshen it smelled divine! Seriously. Unfortunately, two employees couldn’t tell me what scent they used in their lobby.PARKINGParking is in a parking structure. There are two levels (G1 and G2). We easily found space on one level in their Oversized Vehicle lot. I appreciated the thoughtfulness of having space for larger SUVs and trucks. This is a big plus as it gets hard to navigate larger vehicles in usually-tight parking structures.ELEVATORSYou’ll need a scan a key card to get up to your room. Unfortunately, I had multiple issues with the physical card and Mobile Key and had to get help from the Front Desk clerk to reactivate it.SUITEUpon entry, I was welcomed with a well-lit room. The TV was turned on to a loud volume so I actually was scared someone was inside. I guess the hotel just has the volume up loud but it had a “Welcome Wendy” sign on the TV. What a nice touch! Our two-bedroom suite was perfect for our stay. I loved the foyer between the two rooms and the living space with sofa. The bathrooms were spacious and included in-shower Shampoo, Conditioner and Bodywash, And everyone in the suite enjoyed the amenities.DININGThey have a few options on-site:* Chef Tony Dim Sum* Five 55* Bobaful* Market (for miscellaneous items including snacks)There are other nearby restaurants including an Asian market within walking distance. We tried all dining options except for - funny enough - the boba spot, which was my first deciding factor for booking the hotel. HahaOverall, it was a good stay with decent service, great amenities, and excellent property location. I’d love to know what scent they use to freshen up their lobby as it smelled exquisite. My minor complaint would be the access card and Key cards not working properly. Other than that, I was pleased with the decision to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Monterey Park and would be happy to book here again in the future.

The rooms were clean and spacious. We were comfortable and the room temperature was divine, just right for us to relax.They had a coupon based breakfast which was delicious with two restaurants in the hotel, BOBA and a small pool. Please see full review of breakfast further down in the review. The pool is quite small and if there are 3-5 people in it then it is hard to use.They had a TV with some great channels but some were unavailable due to negotiations.When we asked for new towels we had to call room service twice and then eventually had to ask for service lady walking by the room. That is the only reason I am taking off one star.

This hotel is pretty nice, the rooms are nice and theres restaurants down in the lobby. Theres also a boba shop thats really good and open late not sure what the hours are, but when I arrived on Friday they were open til 1 am!!! Location of this hotel theres restaurants all around.

Stayed in room 571 for 2 nights the first weekend in December. Hotel was clean and staff was pleasant. The room was huge but it was a corner room that was hidden at the end of the hallway and we were given no instructions on which elevator to go up on when we checked in, so we went in the wrong elevator and had to walk the whole opposite way to find the room. This was pretty inconvenient because I have a torn meniscus and walking is difficult. The view from the room was of one house across the street that had so much junk it could be in the show hoarders, and the other side was houses.My other complaints would be that such a big room could have easily had 2 king size beds instead of two queens for added comfort. The shower did not have a wand (just a standard shower head) or a step for your feet to shave which I believe all hotels at this time should have as standard amenities. The door to the bathroom was a sliding door that didnt seal or lock. (Pictures are from inside the bathroom)The Wi-Fi never worked and I could not load any webpage so just had to use cell data as usual. On Saturday, Starbucks was closed in the lobby and the coffee in the room had something called whitener which I assume was the powdered creamer, but it barely made a difference.I did not eat any food in the hotel as we went across the street and had dim sum at the Atlantic which was a great price and delicious. When we checked in on Friday we were offered no welcome gift for status but when my husband checked in again on Saturday he was given water bottles.The best thing about this hotel was its location being convenient to reasonably priced food and close to the place we came in for a party so we didnt have to drive far.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay here. The building is seems new and very clean. The beds and shower were modern and clean. Its also a convenient area with restaurants right across the street. We felt very safe in the area and the underground garage parking is convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

Good location, clean room. Horrible service especially given slow post-holiday crowd. Called 2 times, 20-30 mins apart, for two extra pillows. None delivered. Called another 20 mins later, and attitude given by staff after 3rd call with promise of bad review, with response of “ok, thank you.”, per front desk staff. Pillows delivered after 68 mins and 3 calls. Would give hotel second chance given location and cleanliness, and possible unforeseen, critical pillow shortage.

My parents had an extremely unpleasant experience during their stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Monterey Park, particularly their interaction with the night manager on duty, Martin. Their check-in occurred on Wednesday, December 27th, and they completed their stay on Thursday, December 28th.Upon their arrival at 8 pm, they overheard fellow guests murmuring about an issue with hot water in the establishment. However, the staff had failed to inform them about the severity of the situation, specifically the complete lack of hot water throughout the entire building. At 11 pm, they discovered that they did not have hot water and subsequently approached the front desk. However, when they explained their situation to the night manager, Martin, his demeanor was extremely unprofessional, and he made no effort to resolve the issue.Despite their longstanding loyalty to the Marriott establishment and this particular location, Martin insisted that a refund was not possible since they had already checked in. Furthermore, he claimed that, as the night manager, he lacked the authority to address the matter. The failure to address the legitimate concerns of customers at this establishment has left us extremely frustrated with the overall experience at this Marriott location.

It was a disaster. This is the worst hotel among all the Marriott brands even since. I spent 3 days at this hotel, usually i choose this one for business trip. But the lady from frontdesk told me today they dont provide complimentary water any more. i need purchase water for staying. They are very mean about every penny they spend. We regret having our 300 guest count wedding here. We had an extremely difficult time communicating with the hotel event management team and staff. Our main two issues here were the incredibly slow food service and lack of air conditioning. First, we planned for a Chinese 10 course meal from 8 to 10 pm. Unfortunately, the food platters came out in over 3 hours, so some guests could not wait and had left already. The full 10 courses were not served to all our guests even though we had already paid for it. We did not even have time to enjoy our cake or dance floor because the last course was served when our wedding event ended at 11 pm. Secondly, the temperature in the event space was excessively stuffy and hot. The Marriott did not act quickly to help accommodate the uncomfortable temperature conditions. There was no airflow in the ballroom for our 300 guests, and many guests thought it was too humid and warm in both the ballroom and cocktail foyer area. They had also charged our credit card without our consent, and there were hidden fees we were not aware of. I would not recommend hosting any event in this hotel. The Marriott Monterey Park was clearly ill prepared and disorganized throughout the entire wedding day. Many guests left hungry and uncomfortable because of the slow food service and lack of air conditioning.

So I was very impressed with the hotel. Not a big pay for parking type of guy but it is what it is. Thats my only gripe besides I wanted a single king bed but any who. The inside of the hotel is really nice. The inside of the rooms are really nice as well. No issues definitely the biggest and best thing which is sad are the toilets. High tech toilets are the best thing. Lol but the beds are soft definitely recommend going .

I left a negative review for Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Monterey Park, citing the check-in staffs failure to inform my parents about the absence of hot water at check-in, coupled with the night manager Martins poor attitude and refusal to issue a refund, or provide any compensation. The staffs response to my complaint was an unacceptable generic email that provided no solutions, compensation, or refund instructions.A contact of mine within Marriott informed me that this Monterey Park location is not operated by Marriott directly as it is franchised by Aimbridge Hospitality, a separate company. Aimbridge differs in staff training and some implementations, although their use of the Marriott name still requires them to follow standards to some degree. However, these differences highlight the quality contrast between Aimbridge and Marriott. It’s important to note that staff at the Monterey Park location are employed by Aimbridge, not Marriott directly. Ive never witnessed Marriott-operated locations lacking such accountability. If you have any issues at the Monterey Park, do not complain to Marriott, complain to Aimbridge Hospitality.I acquired the personal work email for the General Manager at the Monterey Park location, Luis, and directly sent him my complaint. Im uncertain if he will address the issue, as my dad received a generic email response from a General Manager (though no name was included), merely acknowledging the issues without providing any solutions, compensation, or refund instructions. Regardless, I will be contacting Aimbridge directly to resolve this issue.

We had a nice 1-night stay at this hotel when we were returning from San Diego towards San Jose. We loved the hotel for almost everything. Still few improvements are needed -1. Room Service was not enabled. It would be great to order food from the Chef Tony restaurant.2. We asked for an early check-in however that request could not honored and we had to wait till the normal check-in time. In fact a little more than that as the systems were down ~3pm.3. There were flies in the bath, that needs to be pest-controlled.What I loved most of the hotel room was the view from the window and the special toilet seat with bidets. Reminded me of my stay in Japan which was almost 15yrs back.

We had a very very nice stay. We were kindly upgraded to a king suite on the 6th floor and it was the most amazing hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Was almost hard to leave the hotel at times lol. Absolutely dead quiet, room had AC/heat controls, a bidet toilet, a comfy bed, fridge and microwave.The bubble tea place downstairs is amazing too and open late. The location it’s in has a lot of Asian restaurants/businesses. We had to travel a little further to find other food options for a couple of meals but wasn’t really a problem. 10/10 stay!

We stay here frequently but are now considering no longer staying here!Ive filed a complaint against this hotel due to the managements handling of our room upgrade. We were given a room upgrade but charged an additional night since we occupied two rooms. Honestly, we would have happily taken the additional charge due to the misunderstanding. However, management and staff approached the situation with hostility and rudeness. The manager came to us anxious and flustered and then accused my husband of lying. My husband went down to the front desk and all the staff treated him with disdain. This was also our wedding week by the way!I want an apology and I want them to acknowledge their rude behaviour and I want them reprimanded. This was not right!UPDATE: I’ve filed THREE complaints against this hotel. I called Marriott asking what happened to my first two complaints and the woman on the phone said that every time management on their side has closed it with no comments! HOW WEIRD AND SUSPICIOUS! Clearly they know they are in the wrong!! Unlucky for them I am an absolute Karen and I will not let them bully us around. I will keep calling about this but I’m so upset by their behavior. We had planned to stay here in December. I will be cancelling our reservation!UPDATE 2: I see the response in the Google Reviews. They still have not taken any responsibility for what happened to us. Your management did not take the time to investigate my complaint as they closed our complaints twice with no comments!I called Marriott again yesterday and was told an e-mail was sent, which I have not received and I checked Spam. I do not know know if management just sent an email and lied about it OR if they really did and sent to wrong e-mail. I do not trust this management, due to the fact that when I first spoke to management about this during our stay, they said would reach out to Marriott and e-mail me back with an update and then did not. I then had to call Marriott and file a complaint and have continued to call the helpline for 2 months now. I will continue to reach out to Marriott.Update 3: My partner and I finally got on the phone with the manager, Luis. Luis apologised profusely for what happened. He also told us that he would explicitly speak to management and staff involved about how to handle a situation like this in the future, which was our biggest request. We were upset that it took so long, but it seems like there were obstacles in reaching us. Luis apologised and explained that he had closed the two complaints due to a weird thing in their system and that he was trying to find my contact in the process since its not in my Bonvoy account.This is the best hotel for us when visiting family and we do prefer this hotel a lot. Its clean, modern and rooms are very large! We appreciate FINALLY being able to resolve this issue and for their apology. We feel better about staying here again, and Luis helped us to rebook our stay in December. We hope something like this wont happen again and appreciate the apology and amends made.

Room was clean and spacious. Heater and AC worked great. There was no complimentary lotion, but there was plenty of shampoo, conditioner and body wash attached to the wall in the shower. The toilet also had a bidet which was unexpected but welcomed. Weird thing though was that the room did not have a hair dryer. Very comfortable bed and pillows. 2 foam filled pillows and a more squishy down filled pillow so you have your choice. Definitely would stay again. Lobby had a boba bar and there was a small eatery on site. Only issue was a room down was partying and very loud from 1 to 2:30am but called the front desk and it was squashed very quickly.

Great hotel located in a very nice and safe neighborhood. Its conveniently located close to various stores. The staff was very professional and sure made me feel welcome. If you are ever in the area, I absolutely recommend. My only complaint was that at check-in, it was obvious that the room hadnt been entirely/thoroughly cleaned.

Luxurious feeling hotel without the pretentious hotel resort fees! Yup, its a Courtyard, but its really new, clean, and spacious! Rooms are comfortable and modern. I love that there is no carpet. Plenty of parking underground even when theres a huge party downstairs. Parking costs $18. Fancy boba bar and dim sum restaurant is on site too! There are also restaurants and 2 supermarkets (Ralphs and GW Asian Market) within walking distance. Easy access to the freeway. Small but sufficient pool on 2nd floor along with a decent sized gym with water filter machine. Rooms have a frig, microwave, desk, and a bidet on the toilet too!

*They charge your credit card without notifying you and it’s very hard to ask for a refund*I had a couple of stays at this hotel and, unfortunately, the front desk and service have been consistently rude.I’ve already learned the lesson so for this time, I opted for mobile check-in during my recent visit to avoid any interaction.However, to my dismay, they took advantage of this and charged my credit card without notifying me. Its disheartening because customers trust the property and the brand when they put their card on file, but this trust was violated with unjust fees. It feels like a SCAM!When I discovered the charge and called for a refund, the front desk staff insisted I had to prove my eligibility for a refund. What? This is absurd! Instead of apologizing and promptly refunding me, I had to prove that I was scammed by the hotel to be eligible.This has been the most ridiculous experience, and I hope Marriott addresses these one-star concerns and reviews seriously. There are significant issues at this Courtyard location that need attention.

I stay here regularly when I am in LA. It’s a new place with a feel that is much nicer than your typical Courtyard. Great restaurants. Great rooms. A bidet on every toilet. What’s not to love?

Worst front desk service ever:While I am checking in on 9/16/2023 9:00pm, I have the worst front desk service I have with countyard Marriott. While the front desk lady (only one) is smiling to the white couple ahead, she welcomes me with a cold voice and impatience. I forgot the slipper during this travel, she said she would ask someone to send to my room while she does nothing but start to talk to the next guest. After waiting 30 mins with nothing happens, I am calling the front desk to ask if the slipper can be sent, getting a response that it is out of stock.Come on, it is Marriott. Even it is out of stock, can’t you call the room and let me know? Also I do not believe it is something true.Will never come to this Marriott again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms are very nice with a bidet and a heated seat in the bathroom which really made us feel spoiled. The shower was huge. Love that we couldnt hear any hallway noise so we got a great nights sleep. The location is right off the freeway. Overnight parking is $15 which we werent aware of but the parking garage felt very secure. Would definitely stay here again if we ever need to be in the area in the future.

The hotel was clean and nice and convenient to where we needed to go. HOWEVER, the hotel DOES NOT allow pumping moms to freeze milk bags. I have been traveling for work while pumping for 5 months now and i have NEVER EVER had a place refuse to help with it. I come with sealed and labelled bags that just need to go into the bottom of the freezer and it is not a food safety violation to the kitchen, i know because 1. I work in restaurants, 2. All the hotels i have traveled to have allowed me to do so. The hotel people said it was because of this particular county’s restrictions, however i have recently traveled in the same county AND i seriously doubt any county would NOT support a pumping mom.It was extremely upsetting that my request for help was not met and they didnt seem to care about it whatsoever. If i wasnt pumping i would give this hotel a very good review because the rooms are well taken care of. But this is really upsetting i would never come back again.

Hotel itself is beautiful. Inside the lobby and the room itself. Better consistency in service would be appreciated when it comes to the front desk and management. First two times I paid $10 parking for the elite status and the third time $15. I choose hotels based off of certain amenities. The parking was one of them and I felt cheated out of my happiness. And then I was told “that this doesn’t happen at our property”. Even though I’ve only stayed at this property twice and yes, it did happen. Thankfully, I was given the elite late checkout which balanced my scales. It’s the little things that count. Also, the Starbucks staff told us if we didn’t like the drink we chose they would make us another. That is the kind of service and hospitality that keeps people coming back. Thank you.

First, the accounting team here leaves much to be desired. You’ll have to follow up weeks later— I had to file three missing stay requests in a single month because they only post the latest stay when you have multiple in short succession. So if you have to extend the stay, or have a stay then another night elsewhere then another night here, you’ll have to file a request. This can only be done ten business days after checkout. It really isn’t great having to remember to contact Marriott support two weeks later just to get your points. Another Marriott hotel I did recently posted both consecutive, separate stays without issue, and much faster (one business day instead of two).Besides that, it is a nice hotel. Newly built, looks very nice, and has some nice features like a Toto Washlet. The shower is warm and there’s no carpet so it feels much nicer than older hotels typically do. Parking is increased periodically, it’s $18 now, and the garage is set up wherein half the first floor is for EVs only. No complaints about environmentally friendly policy, but it leads to a lot of empty spaces, as well as gas vehicles parking in those spots anyway.If not for the lackluster accounting that can take up a lot of time after checking out, this place gets all five stars. I’ve wasted at least a full hour tracking down my missing stays though, and that is annoying.

Stayed here a few times (Bonvoy ambassador status) with very positive experiences, mostly quick stays. Decided to go sit outside in the evening on the second floor patio, at 10pm security shows up and says patio closed you have to leave. I asked where else I would be able to go and sit, the response was rude and shocking, she said you can go sit in your room! So unless you want your hotel to tell you to sit in your room I highly recommend you look for alternative options!

Very nice. The first thing I noticed was how nice the lobby smelled. Idk what scent it was but it was a pleasant aroma. We were satisfied by everything, the location was convenient right off the freeway and not far from the Rose Bowl. There is a shopping center across the street with a movie theater that we took advantage of.The only downside is that there is no room service, after a long day of traveling I just wanted to lay down and enjoy a meal easily delivered to my room. However, they do have a bistro, Starbucks, and a restaurant available so you do have options.

This Marriott is very nice and elegant. Let me start off by saying parking is $15 a day which isnt too bad. The elevator has a safety feature that u cannot go higher than the first floor without scanning your room key. Our room was a good size. The sound transfer between the rooms is terrible. Walking or talking. You can hear every word and sound from above or adjacent to you. Could not sleep 6 out of 7 days. It doesnt help that all rooms are solid surface floors without carpet. Bring socks or slippers. My bathroom smelled like sewer gas from the sink during 2 separate stays here. The bistro is expensive and courtyard amenities are not provided. The restaurant only has fried food or salad and is extremely limited. The waitresses and bar are rude and slow. Not the caliber of restaurant it should be. Even the store was lacking healthy snacks. Cheaper Holiday Inns provide complimentary coffee but this does not. Room coffee lacks sufficient creamer so you are forced to buy expensive coffee. It adds up. Rooms are lacking safes which is shocking.I love the smells in the entry, decor, plush bedding, plush and clean towels, and the security features in hotel.Overall for Mariott this is lacking.

After few hours when the watch moved from the hotel to another location which was 3 minutes driving distance from the hotel, I called again but instead they started being rude to me. The manager in the hotel tried to calm me by lying that they would cancel the reservation and file the insurance and I would receive the refund but that never happened. I called the hotel again but they start acting up and lie all the time after hearing my name and they never call back even after taking my name and number down and always lie that the manager is on her break or in the meeting. Bruh! Why is the manager there if she is never available for customers. After 6 months of the incident, I am writing this review just after getting off a call with the front desk, the manager is still not available to speak with. Probably she gets paid for just being on a break..Totally waste of money, scammers and liars!!!!

I spent 9 nights (5-14 Sep 2022). First time in California as part of a world business trip. Great easy access to the 10 freeway. Made getting in and out for meetings across the greater LA area easy. Being a first time visitor I felt a little out of place. I did think that there was very little to do within walking distance but this may have in part been to local businesses being closed/renovated or starting back up post Covid. Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights for leisure, and overall, had an excellent experience. The hotel is brand new, very modern, and clean. Front desk staff were friendly and acknowledged elite status upon check-in. The room itself was very nice. Spacious work desk, built in USB plugs by bed, and ambient night lights. Shower was huge and plenty of towels were provided. Was a little disappointed in the housekeeping - we requested our room serviced the night before (as instructed), but as of 3pm the next day, it wasn’t done yet. It was eventually cleaned, but the floor was not swept. I wish specific times for room cleaning could be requested. Also, the music is too loud on the 2nd floor work area. Parking is underground, discounted for elite members. Overall, I would consider this hotel again in the future stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights and would come back. The hotel was clean as it is new. The location is great and couldnt complain about free parking. Our room was quite big for a guest of 5 which included 2 beds and a sofa bed. We had a suite so was nice to have a full closet as well. Since it was my brothers and I, the larger space was appreciated. We didnt get to experience the amenities since we were out and about. The bathroom was HUGE. Modern, new, looks great, love the hard floors instead of carpet. Very clean.However, some downsides:- I stayed at room 638. Theres a bunch of CLACKING noise. I suspect its some metal beams expanding/contracting depending on the heat outside (it was 102F degrees). Only happens at sunrise/sunset. Very loud- I didnt hear any people talking through the walls like other reviews were saying (maybe no one next to me?). But the door does let a lot of noise in from hallway (can clearly hear doors closing in the hallway)- There was something outside playing hiphop music until 12:30am (Thursday night). Luckily I sleep late- Bed reading light broken on both sides- Hallways smell great during the morning and afternoon but sometime during the evening a raunchy egg smell from level B2 makes its way into the elevators and spreads the smell across the many floors it stops in.I love the look, love the amenities, love the location but that CLACKING metal noise is what ruined the stay for me. Not sure if it was specific to room 638 or all of 6 floor or what. For $200/night, I probably cant recommend it for that specific problem.

Namely the pools and workout equipment. For some reason the pool didnt have enough chlorine in it and to the point the employee had to close it manually with no closed sign. Workout equipment also didnt turn on and using the weight machines felt like they were about to pop and break gears any moment...At least the room was a lot better with fast wifi and very comfortable beds and sheets! The hotel service is by far the worst I have seen. First day: The first fridge was not working, it’s 60 degrees inside and the mechanic was lying and saying that’s how these small fridges work. I asked him to change to another one and the other one works fine. Because the window can’t be opened, we requested an air freshener through calling the front desk. It was never delivered. The second night of our stay, our neighbor decided to blast music at 5am! I called front desk and security of the hotel, no one picked up. Had to call the police, and they were responsive, got to the hotel within 2 mins when I met them in the lobby. The front desk was there but she didn’t pick up. The forth day of our stay, the room was not cleaned, we called the front desk, the front desk was like oh we did a refresh where we threw away the trash and changed the towels. The truth is nothing was done, trash was still there, towels are the same dirty ones. She literally lied to our face. When I called again and confronted her that nothing was done and I requested two water as a compensation. She was like oh water was only complimentary as welcome, we got to charge you for these two. Are you serious? You guys messed up - forgot to clean the room, I just wanted two water as complimentary/ She refused to do so. That’s it! The worst hotel experience among dozens of hotel experience around the world.

I own a few Marriot MSB properties. I am blown away how nice the facility is for Courtyard standards. Finishes and case goods are on the expensive end and really nice for guest. From development side, this must have been a really expensive hotel to build. Because of the grade of finishings used, I wonder about level of returns given high level finishings and location of hotel. Public Space and Rooms are great. My hotels operate at at 40-55% EBITDA margin and achieve top 10% scores within their brands but facility is nowhere as nice as this Courtyard. A lot of things that are displayed or built into hotel that I did not expect to see in a Courtyard. I was disappointed with the restaurant overall. Restaurant was full (a rare sight for full-service hotel); took us 5-7 minutes waiting to be greeted and given table. Server did not greet us in person and was near POS terminal. From the complete otherside of restaurant at POS terminal, server pointed a table for us to go while we were at entrance. After being seated, took 10 minutes for us to be acknowledged for drinks and food. Food quality wise - did not seem fresh and I did wonder if it was frozen food made with turbochef. After food was delivered, we were not followed up with again. We did finish food and drinks and waited for server - ultimately, I had to walk towards another server at the terminal to ask for check and close-out. While the facility is top-notice (honestly on point with Renaissance and Westin-level finishings), we did experience some major detractors with rooms that did result us checking-out 1 day early. My room had some major window creaking going on that would creak every 30-45 seconds. Looking at your prior reviews, this does not seem to be an isolated issue. With the the room and central AC quiet, window creaking noise stood out to me. You constantly hear cars roaring their engines from room. I room changed to 2nd floor and side of hotel facing residential area. I had a 2nd room for my dad; he had trouble sleeping because of outside noise. I would recommend noise insulation for rooms facing entrance side of hotel. There are other things you need to resolve operationally as well - for example, I do not park vehicle at hotel entrance, check-in, and park my car afterwards. I park my car, bring my luggage with me, and check-in. This resulted in me paying upfront with credit card a 20-27 overnight fee to enter into the garage as if I am a non-guest parking. No parking ticket provided either. When I checked-in, agent asked for parking ticket (advised I was not issued) and agent told me that overnight parking is 10ish dollars. So I paid extra than I was supposed because I parked first. Again, really nice property facility-wise. Service could improve at restaurant. Bigger and more challenging issue to address is noise issue on side of hotel entrance and fixing structural issue so window creaking is not a thing.

Stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott this past December, for a exploratory culinary tour of Monterey Park.Negatives--The walls of the room are thin. The phone conversation of the woman next door could be overheard at 2 am. By overheard, I mean each of her words could be made out.-The in-room coffee was terrible. The coffee makers were a generic brand, using disposable trays of ground coffee. After a few sips, the remainder was dumped in the sink.-The complimentary Wi-Fi was non-existent. As a Spectrum Mobile customer, I can connect, but nothing would load. Courtyard by Marriott offers premium Wi-Fi for a fee, so perhaps this is to encourage guests to pay. I used the Print Station at the lobby for free to handle Internet activities.-No room service. I dont use this, but many people do.-Parking was $15/day at the time, which has now increased to $18.Positives--Every room comes with a bidet! This was my first experience using a bidet, and I was immediately in love. The adjustable pressure, the temperature control, the air dryer - I ended up proposing to it ;p-The pool was nice & warm on a chilly December afternoon. Located on the 2nd floor, overlooking the residential area west of the hotel, it was great swimming a few laps & work up a hunger to eat later.-Location. The Courtyard by Marriott is located right off the 10 Freeway, across from Atlantic Times Square. The plentiful restaurants on Garvey Ave. and the surrounding area are a quick jaunt away.Service was good at check-in. Also, upon leaving, I had a billing dispute after checking my credit card activity. Front Office Supervisor, Jacalyn Tien, provided exceptional service via email correspondence, quickly remedying the issue.My tour of Monterey Park was a great time, and I did enjoy staying at The Courtyard by Marriott, even if being a tad bit overcritical. While the walls being insulated may be too costly a venture, upgrading the coffee machines to Keurigs & having complimentary Wi-Fi that functions would enhance the overall customer satisfaction.

Our stay at Courtyard Los Angeles Monterey Park was an amazing one. Rooms were very new, spacious and clean. Staff were very courteos and accomodating. During our first two nights, the heat did not work. I reported it to the frontdesk and they were very apologitic and immediately moved us to another room. And to make for the inconvenience, they offered to waive our parking fee for the entire stay. I really appreciated that gesture. The parking pass also initially had issues on our first day, but the gentleman in the frontdesk immediately fixed the issue for me. Another plus (which actually spoiled us) was the heated toilet seat and bidet in the bathroom. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and made our first trip to Los Angeles a really pleasant one. We are very excited to be back in the near future and highly consider staying at Courtyard Los Angeles Monterey Park again.

One of the best hotels in the area. I work around the area and this is my favorite one by far. The hotel is so clean, new, and modern I absolutely love it. I stayed at the premium room which for about $60 or so more than the standard room and it was worth it. You get a beautiful living room, a spacious bedroom, and an amazing bathroom. I highly suggest this hotel. The gym is 24/7 and pool is open as of 10-26-2021. There is a cafe area serving Starbucks lattes iced or hot 24/7 and a restaurant thats opened sometimes ( I cant recall their schedule) Plus, parking is free!

Beautiful new property in the heart of Monterey Park. Lobby was beautiful and great place to mingle or work, if one wants to. The room is comfortable. Parking is underground so that helps when its hot. Bonus is theres a movie theater, shopping and food right across the street that we can walk to.

Super disappointed in my stay here. The hotel is nice and new, the room wasn’t cleaned the best but overall it was a good place to sleep. I was just so disappointed in the customer service and how it seems like Marriott as a brand does not care about brand loyalty anymore. I am a titanium longtime member and requested a suite upgrade with one of our suite night awards certificates, it was denied. I figured they must all be booked, this was really starting to get frustrating though because it seems like every time I request one be used it’s denied. I feel that I’ve been pretty patient until this point.On the way to check in I message the front desk and request an upgrade again because I see several nicer rooms available to be booked. I explained that I would be happy to use one of my certificates if they did not want to grant me an upgrade based on my status alone. The front desk said there were no upgrades available, i then pointed out two types of rooms with multiples available online and I got some excuse about how his system doesn’t show that? They are using a different system? So what about if I had then booked that room? Would I have been turned away? This seemed very dismissive honestly so I asked again upon check in. I explained that these suite night awards are a choice benefit that I choose over others such as free nights so they really should be honored when one is available. He was again very dismissive, then half heartedly “checked again” saying there was nothing else despite me showing him there clearly was on the app.There continued to be a suite and larger king room available on the app for the rest of the night.The front desk employees and brand itself are making it very clear every time I stay that they really don’t care about me or my loyally, maybe it’s time I take my 75+ stays a year and thousands spent at their properties elsewhere.

This hotel was beautiful and new. I had the 2 bedroom suite and it was gorgeous. What was lacking? Cleaning needs to be done everyday because of my large group. I even requested it. When they finally got in, they only replaced the towels and tidy up the beds. No cleaning of the bathrooms. Very disappointing especially now on these trying times. Also if you decide to check in and if you want it to be charged to the same credit card you made the reservation under, you will need to show that credit card. Marriott cannot charge the credit card you made the reservation under without physically having and showing the credit card. If I would have done mobile checkin through the app, they would have billed the credit card you made the reservation under. How backwards is this? Of course if you do not show up for your reservation you will also be billed under the credit card you made the reservation under. I did have the credit card on my Apple Wallet. Despite this being a new hotel, they do not accept Apple Pay or any mobile pay of any kind.

Im writing this review to warn other travelers about staying here. Make sure to lock up your belongings or place them in a secure area. An expensive item was taken from my room during my stay.Im more disappointed in the way that this situation was handled by Kayla Peterson of Marriott. There was no actual investigation conducted and she (and the staff) never returned any of my phone calls. She did email me a letter of their insurance policy to inform me that Marriott is not liable for stolen items.The hotel is located in a nice area, but this theft and the uncleanliness of the room made for a terrible experience. I strongly encourage you to find a hotel that will respect you and prioritize customer service.

During the first night of the stay right after taking a shower, I realized that the bath towel I was using had an USED BANDAID stuck on it. It was absolutely DISGUSTING. I was disturbed to find that the other 3 towels either had stain or dust. We were so frustrated and talked to the front desk who stated that she will relay the complaint to the manager. However, no one contacted us during our 3-night stay there. They are not helpful at all took a trip with my sister and she is in a wheelchair it was the first trip we took after her accident my felt belittle and discriminated for having a family member in a wheelchair. I had very bad experience with this hotel. TV was broken the 1st night we were there. They said theyll send someone the next day to fix it but no one came. We also heard the people from the room next door clearly and they were super loud. So, if you want peaceful stay, just pray that the people next door are quite since the hotel would not do anything about this. We called the front desk several times but they did not do anything. My first stay was very nice. My second stay the person at front desk was very rude I booked the standard room just like my first stay. During check in I was told there were no more rooms and if it was okay to have a smaller room I said okay but upon going in and checking it out it was way smaller then my last room during my last stay. The shower was much smaller and so was the bed. I went back to ask if it was possible to get the normal room even if we had to check in at a later time. The guy at the front desk eye twitches and he said that I booked the smaller room even though earlier he asked if I was okay with a smaller room. This hotel is located in a safe area with a plethora of fun and tasty food options for 2-3 miles (easily walkable). Downtown LA, Griffith Park and most other attractions are around 20-30 mins pending traffic. Universal is around 15-20! They have bidets and hardwood (or maybe laminate) flooring which I loved due to nasty carpet can get after extreme wear and tear. We’ll most likely stay here again when we come back to LA - wonderful service as expected from a Marriot.

What is worse, when checking out, we called 5 times to do an express check out and the call had never been picked up. I’m extremely dissapointed in the customer service here. I had an encounter with a woman by the name of Jacquelyn Tier I believe. Upon arrival there was miscommunication on the hotels part via the instant chat feature on the Marriott app. When I went to address it, instead of taking responsiblity for poor communication on the hotels part, she put the blame on me for not “responding sooner.” This resulted in running me in circles for an hour and a half in the lobby. I ended up having to go through multiple booking/cancellations on the app - instead of wanting to help me it seemed like she just wanted to tell me why I was in the wrong (when the miscommunication was on the hotels part) All of this could of been avoided if they properly communicated in the first place. I work in the hotel business and have stayed at many Marriotts across the country. This was by far the worst staff interaction I have had and will never return to this location. I ended up cancelling my stay there all together and drove down the road to the Sheraton by Marriot where I had zero problems with the exact same request as I asked Jacquelyn. I know the efforts that could have put in on Jacquelyns part as a manager and she did nothing besides sit in the back room and communicte to me by sending another employee back and forth. Extremely unproffesional. I would avoid this place at all costs.

There is no “Asia Town” designation for the general location, simply the fact that this is in “Monterey Park.” There is a significant Asian customer base at this hotel due to the close proximity of many Asian restaurants, grocery stores and businesses.Pardon me for the photo, but I appreciate the toilet in the hotel room. I had a HORRIBLE experience at this hotel! I thought my stay would go well, but I was mistaken. When I got to my room, I noticed the toilet was dirty and that was when I realized the housekeeping doesn’t clean. With the COVID regulations, a new hotel like this should be on top of sanitizing everything. Later on that day, I went to my car (which I parked in the LOWER GARAGE) and I noticed a leak coming from the hotel ceiling! That leak appeared to be water, but it wasn’t. It turned out to be some kind of chemical that damaged my car’s paint. The hotel refuses to take responsibility like it’s my fault that their hotel is falling apart and leaking chemicals onto cars. We talked to the manager and he said that there would be proof on the cameras that the leak was coming from the hotel ceiling. They still refused to pay for the damages and now I’m looking into filing a law suit and filing a police report. So save yourself a horrible trip and book at another hotel nearby that is not irresponsible like this hotel.

There is great parking, and easy access to the fwy. But there is one major flaw, they built this property with walls that are paper thin. First of all theyre breakfast is horrible and they have one person there it took 20 minutes to get a burrito when it comes from the back kitchen The people on the counter dont know what theyre doing they dont explain that the coffee be at the counter and the rest will be delivered front desk and you have a problem they say theres no manager on duty so what if they had an emergency what if they had a fire your lifes at risk because they dont have managers there thatll guide the employees and that was at 7:30 in the morning no manager on dutyThe parkings fine I think the rooms are gorgeous I think the toilets are great I think everything with the physical plan is great its just a poorly run hotelI had dinner with a colleague and it was basically 99% noodles and a little bit of meat for $16 it was basically ramen noodles could have gone to the store and got the same qualityI asked him specifically to put me on a room on a high floor away from the road what did they do put me right next to the road then get any sleep so I just dont know if whoevers running the hotel I think its Chinese owned is really training people how to run a hotel I think they can get a physical plant looking great the rooms are perfectly laid out but frankly if I was Marriott I would do a flag on this hotel into an audit I would say if you dont mind poor service this is a great hotel for you

Our stay was amazing! When we got there, my 9 year old was begging for a top floor room, I asked front desk and the only room available on the 6th floor was 666. I am a housekeeping supervisor at a Marriott hotel in Utah so I had high expectations and they were definitely met! The only thing I would suggest for the hotel itself is that for a double queen room, because 4 people usually stay in there, is to leave 4 bath towels, 4 washcloths and 4 hand towels. Single rooms, just leave 2 of everything. 3 of everything if its a EK room.

This hotel is brand new, and you can tell. Everything is super clean and sleek. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the amenities are very nice, too. We loved the location across from Atlantic Dim Sum, Daiso Japan, and AMC theaters. Right off the 10 and easy access to DTLA, this spot is up and coming for sure.

Rooms are small for the price. The exhaust in the bathroom wouldnt turn off and kept making a lot of noise that affected sleep, and the bedside light didnt work, which is really bad for a new hotel.

I called the front desk to ask for towells and shampoo, 1030am on my last day. Sunday. This stay at this hotel was my week get away from home and work to enjoy west coast. I dont have in my mind the checkout time, maybe my mistake I didnt ask for a checkout time. But front desk had my number and could call me and say: friendly reminder checkout is at noon. Nope, was back at the hotel at 330pm and went straight to front desk to say im not sure when i was supposed to checkout, front desk answer was they already cleaning the room and will bring my things in a bag to the lobby in a moment. I asked if i could go to my room. Answer is no. They bringing your stuff in a moment. Didnt know theyd put my clean clothes( shirts and suit pants) together with my laundry in a GARBAGE BAG, and bring it to me in the lobby. They wouldnt even let me go to my room and pickup my things. Had to pickup my clothes from a GARBAGE BAG and transfer them into my luggage in a lobby full of people. Didnt understand the rush for that decision from a manager...why did the front desk even take my phone number upon arrival( check in)???

Because of covid if you are staying more than a day you need to tell them if you want your room cleaned 24hrs in advanced.

We live in the neighborhood and stopped in to try Five55 restaurant (the sports bar type establishment inside that opens at 4pm). The food was great and reasonably priced! You can get entrees for under $11, and drinks reasonably priced as well. We had chicken tenders that came with 3 pieces and a large side order of fries. double burger ($11), side of brussel sprouts and a flatbread pizza. All were great!

Both my wife and I got very sick from food I bought at the hotel, throwing up & diarrhea, we left shortly after and notified hotel desk, not only they didnt followup on us, they didnt offer to make any refund or adjustments, when complained, they gave me a case number and still didnt contact us back. This is the nicest Courtyard by Marriott ive ever been to! They take their security personnel presence more seriously here as I see them patrolling. I asked for additional amenities and it was delivered promptly, surprisingly by a security guard in clean uniform! +1 for an amazing beautiful lobby as well. Poor internet. Auto connected, I can do Google search, super fast, but can not open wiki, can not connect to Twitter(or super slow).Eventually, I removed the wifi by forgotting the network and switched to use cellular data.
