We loved sitting outside for brunch at Costeaux! It was very reminiscent of an actual cafe in France. They were able to make the eggs Benedict vegetarian, which was appreciated. The mimosas were mostly champagne with a drop of fresh orange juice, very refreshing!

French bakery lovers need to experience this one! I have been let down by multiple famous French bakeries in California, and finally I found one I love!They had an awesome selection, friendly staff, and delicious eclairs! Possibly the best eclairs ever! Plump full of real cream filling, smothered in a gob of fresh chocolate, and minimal crust. It was a bit too much chocolate for me...but I easily pealed some off and enjoyed the pastry. I will go out of my way for this place.

A lovely place for brunch and baked goods. Offering many vegetarian options. The vegan eggs and soy chorizo are scrumptious and their sour dough bread and veggie sandwiches are delicious and filling. The bakery is packed with an assortment of Fresh French pastries, cookies, muffins, and decorative cakes. The prices are high for the quantity of food you receive on your plate but overall very tasty dishes, sandwiches and sweet treats— my go to is their cinnamon walnut bread— extremely addictive. The waitstaff are friendly and courteous so I definitely recommend checking out this quaint historical bakery located off of downtown Healdsburg.

Delicious bakery & cafe! Our family has been buying Costeaux products for decades. Love the fresh breads and cookies. Incredible cakes. The inside cafe is very spacious and has a private room for special meetings. Recently I enjoyed a Windsor Chamber event decorating cookies with my girlfriend. The staff is super friendly, its kid friendly and dog friendly. Just steps away to Healdsburg center plaza. Lovely place. Support local! ♥️

Exposed ceiling bakery and eatery. Came here on a Friday and ordered the Costeaux Benedict, the avocado toast and a cappuccino. The tables around us were packed with couples, families and friends taking in a big meal ahead of the day’s activities. (Or kicking off weekend plans) The plates being served around us looked delectable.

Outstanding little bakery to stop at for breakfast or lunch if youre hopping between vineyards in Sonoma County! Pretty standard menu but it is all done well. The cinnamon toast really stands out. We were looking forward to dessert but the hostess brought us our check right away, and the waiter never came back, so we had to leave earlier than we had wanted, but we had a generally good experience otherwise.

Super cute and airy place. We ordered the Pain Perdu (French toast) and onion soup. The latter was really good - thick and rich. The server was also really polite and gracious even though we accidentally entered by the back door (we were following Google maps’ directions) and skipped the line in front. Oops! Nice place to bring kids too - family friendly. They gave my daughter crayons and paper to color.

Costeaux french bakery is a must-go-to place downtown Healdsburg. The ribbons and metals that Costeaux has won over the years are literally all over the place! Interestingly, not only have they won best bakery awards they also have multiple best-place-to-work awards too. Then you get to the food! Wow, excellent pastries, cakes and breakfast plates to choose from. You can either come and sit down in their delightful and spacious cafe or you can order from the rows and rows of delicious pastry and cakes at the counter.

On a recommendation of our local friend, we decided to have breakfast at Costeaux French Bakery. We were greeted with prompt, friendly service and seated right away. The coffees were excellent. We ordered the breakfast quiche and it was very substantial and filled with yumminess! Well be back to try their other dishes soon.

On the northern edge of the town center. Lovely, big space, but a little too crowded for my preference and a little too warm. The foods was delicious (croissant sandwich, eggs Benedict and the Turkey sandwich), but the coffee is per cup. They have beautiful looking baked goods in the bakery section.

Food was good but the service we got was atrocious. Ended up being there hour and a half and we had someone stop by table three times and once we flagged them down. They were not that busy on a Friday morning. Servers would check other tables and go in empty handed while our empty plates and empty coffee cups sat in front of us. I watched our coffees sit on bar long enough they were not hot by the time they brought them out, just drip coffee. Once we did flag them down for check it was incorrect and had to take it in myself to get fixed.

Also skimpy on the olive oil for the burrata abed a bunch of wilted arugula and soggy pistachios. Seems a poor choice to eat when it’s surrounded by so many other great places

The Sunday brunch quiche was pretty phenomenal - full of ingredients, certainly one of a kind. The fruit was fresh and delicious, too. I didnt try the baked goods, but they look amazing. It does get busy, but they text you when you are on the waitlist. Worth a visit when in Healdsburg.

We are concerned they will go out of business soon. The owners must be strapped for cash. They added a 3% mandatory gratuity for kitchen staff on top of tip and taxes and 20$ breakfast sandwiches. They also started making smaller portions. For instance: They brought up 2-1/2 pieces of toast on the 4 piece order without enough jam.The food is still excellent. We hope it works out for them :/

Cute French bakery. They serve fresh squeeze dorange juice and you can actually tell its been freshly squeezed. The color itself gives it away. The chilaquiles were delicious and didnt need to add any type of meat. The dish itself was filling on their own. They serve a cute biscotti with the cappuccino. The bakery area is all fresh. I loved the raspberry croissant bar They had. Not overly sweet but sweet enough to comfort your sweet tooth palate.

Ive always loved Costeaux. Its one of the last vestiges of old Healdsburg. Its a great place for breakfast! With indoor and outdoor seating....its a wonderful weekend brunch spot, complete with mimosas. I also appreciate that well behaved dogs are welcome on their patio. They are usually treated to a bowl of cold water and a dog cookie. My dog and I have had Many relaxing meals together there.🐾 The food is always good at Costeaux. My favorites have always been either the eggs benedict or the Turkey-cranberry sandwich. Their baked goods are also quite good....nice breads, scrumptious cookies and lovely classic cakes. Try the chocolate krinkle cookies! Until recently, they had wonderful staff that had been there for many, MANY years, but it seems like most have now left.If you want a nice ( good quality ), casual breakfast or lunch.....check them out!! But be aware, they do close early - 2pm ( I think )

I love eating here, even though there are very limited #glutenfree options, their Costeaux omelette and bacon (soft) is very tasty. Their hibiscus Bellini(?) is amazing, but recently has been mia-hopefully not permanently so! I have been here close to 100 xs over the last several years-and have always had fantastic service until this very last time last month. My server, whom I did not recognize, did not seem to register concern when I specified glutenfree #celiac- please no toast and be extra careful of cross contamination. He was suddenly switched off part way through my meal (without explanation)—he had already fumbled refilling surrounding new tables coffee mugs multiple times while ignoring us and another waiter had to step in, I should have known-sigh. Nothing appeared wrong with my meal when it arrived-so maybe they put toast on it and pulled it before it arrived, or used a dirty knife, but I got #glutened for my first time. It is a risk I take eating anywhere sadly, so it will not keep me from going back-because it is the first time in a hundred that it has ever happened there. However, be very weary of your server’s attitude-they may have some new staff who think #celiac is a hoax :( Also, their patio is #dogfriendly :)

Delightful and delicious! We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at the Costeaux French Barkery during our recent trip to Wine Country. I had the French Toast and my husband had eggs and hashbrown potatoes. Really, you cant got wrong wth anything on their menu. The restaurant is quite large and inviting on the inside, with a lovely bakery counter where you can purchase breads and treats to take with you. We sat out on their patio, and it was the perfect weather for a delicious breakfast! Prices are just right, meal sizes are just right, and everything was great. Definitely worth a visit if youre a local or an out-of-towner. Bon Apetit!

The French onion soup today was extremely thick and more like a stew, with only a sprinkling of cheese on top then covered with toast rounds. It was not baked and oozing with cheese over the sides as expected. Also had a disappointing slice of quiche which was way too heavily filled with meats and vegetables while the crust was rock hard and needed to be sawed with a knife.

I am always excited to see a French bakery and expected the pastries, especially the baguettes ($4), to be truly Parisienne. Not so. Disappointingly it was soft and crusty and lacked density. I ordered a Costeaux salad consisting of mixed greens, green apple, walnuts, grapes and goat cheese ($13) It was nice and light and perfect. That saves the rating. Service slow. Finally got our own menus. Interestingly enough, the noise level outside is incredibly loud.Now the four stars are for great food. Being gluten intolerant, a bakery is always a questionable choice but, they do have options. My choice was their Friday special, eggs Benedict on thin sliced ham, avocado and greens and I asked them to eliminate toast and place eggs on potatoes. What a tasty treat.Id go again, easily, and suffer the noise and get my own menu to have that dish again.

We ordered the Peach Mimosa and Hibiscus Bellini. Both were well balanced and refreshing. For our entrees the French dip and Smoked duck sandwich, both served with pomme frites (French fries 😋) French dip was juicy and delicious, with the softest ciabatta bread. The duck was flavorful and the multigrain added texture. Both were very good and wed order again. Definitely coming back if ever 8n the area.

Food - 5, Service - 2We were seated promptly but then the wait began. The restaurant was about 75% full. We waited for 20 minutes before waving down a waitress and asking her to send our server over. She said she would see who was supposed to cover our table and she was the one who came back to take our order. The food came quickly and was delicious. The eggs Benedict were jazzed up with bacon, spinach and avocado, and they were served with potatoes. No complaints about the food. The service, however, continued to fail. No one came around to inquire if we wanted a refill on our coffee. We waited another 15 minutes after completing our meal before we gave up and flagged our waitress down to ask for the check. She brought it quickly but then never returned to pick it up. Its a shame. Pre-pandemic this was a great place for breakfast.

Food was good but it does have to be eaten with utensils which came 7 minutes after being served. Staring at hot food getting cold just isn’t fun! Especially when you’re hungry . I ordered extra creme fresh for potatoes which never came, asked for it again and catsup both of which never came. Plain potatoes just aren’t fun! Service just lacking!! Our neighbor went and got hot sauce from the table next to us and shared it which was fun. Our bill never came which l had to getup and pay and low tips aren’t fun either.

If youre craving fresh baked goods, the local bakery is a must-visit. Its the only one in town, so its often quite busy, but the pastries are well worth the wait. The portions are American-sized rather than French-sized, but theyre still delicious. The ambiance is lovely, making it a great spot for brunch. Dont forget to grab some pastries to go - theyre perfect for a midday snack or as a treat for later on. And of course, the coffee is also excellent.

Pretty disappointed with the cake I ordered. We had tons of family over for my moms 50th and I wanted a cake that would impress. Ordering was easy enough and I thought I had left pretty clear instructions, but overall I was trusting that an expensive bakery would deliver quality. When picking up the cake I got a glimpse of the cake tray and hoped it wasnt ours. It was a pepto bismol mess with shoddy piping of the birthday message, no decoration on top. Apparently they couldnt add fresh flowers or berries on top because there was lettering?? Since I had already paid, and was running a little late as it was, I accepted the cake and ran out. I guess I learned my lesson: a cake from Olivers will taste just as good if not better, will DEFINITELY look way prettier, and will cost half the price.

Bread and pastries have always been good. Theres a new chef in the cafe and the quality of the food has improved greatly! After many years avoiding breakfast at Costeaux I can happily say it is now somewhere Ill gladly go. We shared the baked camembert, french toast, spareribs, chilaquiles, and potatoes with chorizo. Enjoyed it all but the camembert was a highlight...it came in a skillet with bacon, caramelized onions, and toast points. Way to go, Chef Jorge!

I honestly believe the food was overpriced for the quality that we were getting in return. Everything we got tasted pretty bland. I dont think my breakfast croissant was even seasoned with salt and pepper.The customer service didnt make up for it either.. They forgot our cheesecake we ordered & none of the workers seemed to really care about the job they had. While my partner and I were there, we watched an elderly couple sit down without any acknowledgement. No one brought them a menu or anything until the man finally got someones attention. The whole cafe just seemed like a joke. As if we were being served an idea rather than an genuine experience.+2 stars for it being clean & for their design/layout

What is there not to love about this Bakery? The ambiance is very cool and the food is amazing. The eggs benedict is probably one of my favorite dishes anywhere. Come in at Christmas time and see a special display of very cool nut crackers. Today was EXTRA amazing!! I sat down alone for the first time ever here and ordered my traditional eggs benedict. Anne came by and greeted me and said she had recognized me from previous experiences there. She made me feel so welcome and of all the experiences Ive had this was probably the best. Anne made the experience and clearly she is someone who understands hospitality. ❤️😊

What a horrible experience, let me first say the service and etiquette which the staff of a restaurant at this level had shown should be ashamed and all staff should be retrained. I came to healdsburg for a nice lunch for restaurant week and maybe some dessert with my fiance and baby daughter(it was raining btw). I called ahead to see if there was seating and there was we didnt mind eating outside if it was heated. Upon arrival there were 3 couples ahead of us with is fine because we didnt mind waiting but it took the hostes about 20 minutes before she came out and ignored everyone and didnt even ask us if we were eating there or our names or anything and went inside looking disheveled and distressed. I went inside to ask some teenagers that were working there if we could be helped anytime soon because we had been waiting in the rain and all they could do is say the hostes would help us but I already knew we werent getting help anytime soon. In the 25 minutes I was waiting 2 copies left and one was called but like I said before the hostes was uninterested in taking names or anything when there were clearly a dozen open tables. I recommend people spend there money any any other restaurant in healdsburg because this place clearly dosent have its establishment together. 0 stars

I used to really adore Costeaux, their cakes and baked goods are tasty and remain just alright. If you are able to dine in, their food is decent and drinks are pleasant for brunch. My main criticism is with their lack of customer service, they are ALWAYS exceedingly rude and act as though its a chore to perform their job. I typically skip Costeaux and go to Big Johns Market, but their customer service there is also lacking. A once in a while stop when Im in the area is alright for this location, but Id never make it a destination stop just due to the way they treat their customers.

The prices are certainly higher to fit the MUCH higher tax bracket of the local population and average visitor, but some similar spots we visited in the equally as exclusive Carmel by the Sea had slightly better baked goods and breakfast sandwiches for about half the price. However, while it is more expensive, I was still looking forward to stopping here every day we were in the area, and if Im ever back in the area Ill be stopping in again for sure. Worth the stop!

Had a Birthday lunch here with my daughter, son and grandbaby - a pleasant experience overall. The server was friendly and helpful, willing to answer our questions about the menu and even consult with other staff regarding the mimosas which she had not tried herself. Even though they dont have a childrens menu, she told us about items better suited to my 2 year old granddaughter which worked out perfectly. My family and I were excited about 2 custom made cakes that we ordered after being told that this bakery made the besct cakes. We were sorely disappointed yesterday at my husbands birthday party when we discovered that the cakes were dry, hard and seemed to be frozen rather than freshly made. The quality, taste and texture of these cakes were not at all what we were expecting and were not at all up to the standard that we were told. Many of our guests commented on their surprise of the poor and unpleasant quality of the cakes and I still have them mostly uneaten in my refrigerator. Not sure what we are going to do when them. We happened on Costeauxs by mistake and what a great mistake! The 4 of us argued about whose pastry was best. The lemon tart was amazing, really lemony with light crust. The mocha florentine was crunchy on the outside and had the yummiest mocha cream, dipped in chocolate on the ends! The almond rugelach was flaky and full of flavor. On January 31st, I had the misfortune of encountering one of their drivers from the bakery that goes to St. Helena to deliver bakery goods every morning to various food businesses. He was traveling quickly through the parking lot of Sunshine Market in St. Helena, and without barely even slowing down, he turned out of an aisle and cut me off to where I had to hit the brakes hard. I honked at him, he beeped back a couple times and yelled, Heres something for you to blow! Wow! In a company van, with all the business information on it!Not only was he driving without due caution, his attitude and behavior when honked at was extremely unprofessional.I e-mailed the company, got no response. I sent the company a Facebook message, got no response. I e-mailed the company again, just in case they missed the first one. No response. I expected some sort of an apology or at least an assurance that the driver would be talked to about the incident and warned to be more professional. Nothing back from the company.So now its clear to me that the company does not seem to care that they have a driver with a bad attitude.But heres where it gets good. The incident was recorded on a dashboard camera, and the footage was posted on YouTube in a video titled: Mild Road Rage Costeaux French Bakery.All the manager had to do was issue a simple apology. I figure maybe their driver was just having a bad day, but to add insult to injury, the company completely shoves this matter under the rug by completely ignoring me.

Service is UNBELIEVABLY slow. It took several minutes to get seated. It took over 10 minutes to have our order taken, and I had to notify the wait staff to let them know we were ready to order.

The food is very good they have numerous gold metals for there food. The service people are helpful and very nice. It seems that people are always their to try it out. There pastrys are also very good.

They have a chocolate cake, I dont remember what its called but it has the richest creamiest frosting Ive ever graced my tongue with. Highly Recommend!
