I adopted my little man from this shelter after he was previously abandoned. He has changed from all cut up & battered, to one of the most loving babies ever. This shelter is SO wonderful. Aside from them being so sweet & caring, I had low cost adoption fees & his hospital stay was included in that. They also gave me a little carrier for free. I cant say enough great things about this place. I hope to donate in the future & if I ever need another animal, I know where to go. ❤️❤️

Great place. The staff run the Instagram very nicely. Staff are nice people, the dogs are well taken cared of. Available dogs have amazing descriptions. Staff are also open about dogs personalities and any issues that might arise.

Its a very clean shelter. Well maintained. They have areas for prospective new family members to have time with each other in outdoor areas. The staff are all very friendly. They are informative with all your questions. The small downside, but good too, there arent too many animals. They have a lot of empty kennels. The few animals that were there are extremely well taken care of. As far as shelters goes, this if by far one of the most well attentive.

Today I took a dog in, thank God he had a chip, but he was injured, and I hope the owner will give more attention to her dogs got two more walked in They check is the same owner. You have a dog is a responsibility. Gotta love them be sure they secure the gate they get out. You know I saw a man walking in turning in a dog that he said he found while he was hiking with his dog I don’t believe it right now I’m thinking about that. She looks beautiful and she looks healthy. I hope they don’t put her to sleep and give her a chance in there break my heart how can people not love animals if you love your kids, you got a love animals. They are so smart they sent was gonna happen to them some people neglect them. That’s why they run away.

I have had the best experience with these wonderful and caring women that make up the bright spirit of what I used to think was a bad place, and they gave me one of the best experiences that I have had with individuals in uniform with a badge lol, they were really great, very polite and nice and extremely welcome and yet super efficient and fast I only regret not having three thumbs so that I can give them that super rating because they must have super powers being so awesome and efficient, thank you Corona Animal Shelter and Paco sends his love and two paws up for yall.Sincerely Joel B and his fur face Paco.

Understaffed. Couldnt show or meet and greet dogs until shift changes. Most animals were not ready to adopt for one reason or another. Still I suggest and support that people adopt not shop and to look here for pets to adopt. Just allow for time to be spent here if you can.

I couldnt find an email to reach out to the shelter. But we absolutely loved working with them. About 7 years ago, we adopted our first dog.Now, he is 8 years old. We love him very much, and were grateful for how well the shelter took care of us when we adopted him all those years ago!

The staff here is polite, helpful and professional. They deserve a raise! They should also train the employees at Riverside Animal Control on how to speak to people and proper customer service since the Riverside employees are super rude and never seem to have any information about multiple situations on multiple occasions. Riverside shelter heard my situation and could care less, they didnt know anything, they talk disrespectfully with a rude and hateful tone, told us to call back the next day, and theyve had the same horrible service on the past several interactions. They have a history of putting dogs down too quickly within a day or two before owners even have the chance to try and claim them, so it was horrifying to think that our FurBaby would be stuck at their improper and bad facility, but thankfully he was at a better shelter. In the animal business and similar situations the staff should be good with people with proper training. Corona gets 4 out of 5 stars (not 5 only cause its still a kill shelter), Riverside gets 1 out of 5 stars. Thanks again to the Corona Shelter staff for looking after our dog and going above and beyond to help get him back home today. You are usually closed Sundays but I explained how our dog Messi was picked up after my uncle was in a bad car accident with our dog in the car. Car was totaled and my uncle is unconscious with multiple injuries and broken bones. We didnt know what happened to Messi. Riverside Animal control and the police department didnt have any info for us, we didnt know if the dog was alive or hurt or where he was taken to. We spent most of the day trying to find him with no luck. Then we came across a post with his picture and ID #. I called the shelter and left a message. Within 5-10 minutes I got a call back. I explained the traumatic day we were having and said I could be there within 30 minutes. You were empathetic to our situation and after verifying ownership you allowed us to pick him up. With my uncle still in bad shape, you were compassionate enough to ease some of the stress and worries about our beloved pet. That gave us a boost of faith and hope when we were needing it most. You were nice and had other helpful tips for us along with the info on how to go about them. Im in the animal care field myself (for about 11 years now) and have dealt with multiple places on many occasions. You had the best customer service by far out of all of the places, and your facility was clean and well kept. The world needs more awesome employees like you. You are appreciated! Your kindness will bring joy to my uncle when he wakes. We could never thank you enough Corona Shelter Staff!

I went for dog licencing. The lady was super helpful. I licensed one of my dogs. My others rabies shot expires in a month so she suggested a clinic for low price vaccines and said to get the rabies shot and come back. If not the license would only be good for a month. The license isnt expensive because my dogs are neutered but its nice to not waste the extra money. I appreciate her help.

**gray cat found***After giving him some water and food and knocking on a few doors with no luck, I called and arranged a pick up. I found the sweet kitten wondering in my neighbors yard crying for hours. I had to run to the store so I just dropped him off myself the staff was really nice and friendly. The facilities seemed very clean. If you live near Corona Ranch elementary and are looking for a gray tomcat with light brown eyes please contact the shelter right away.

This shelter does an excellent job caring for and adopting animals. I saw dogs taken in March and was still there. We need to help all of our shelters. Be aware of an animals breed and the level of care, including their activity level BEFORE getting a pet. I saw countless pit bulls, Siberian huskies, and German Shepards. So sad that so many were discarded and ended up at the shelter. Spay and neuter, and always adopt before purchasing. The Corona animal shelter also hosts a weekly reading program for children and adults. Increase your reading skills and help socialize the animals there.

My two corgis were stolen from my home over a year ago March 2022. I searched the Van Buren animal shelter near my house, put alert on my dogs chip, called Home Again (microchip company), posted flyers, posted online, door knocked, drove around, had search parties looking for them, called groomers/vets, etc. It was very painful not knowing where they were and not being able to find them. Several scammers and people on Ring app had even gave me a hard time, trying to get money to “look for my dogs”. Never thought I see or find them. Yesterday 5-26-23, I got called from Corona animal shelter that they found my dogs! Being so long, I thought it was some sick twisted joke and I had to call to confirm. I told them, I’m on my way, do not give them to anyone and that I haven’t seen them in over a year. Sarah reassured me, when I explained the situation. I’m so grateful for them finding my dogs..

Last year yesterday June 24th, I adopted the most amazing pitbull from this shelter!!! He is my ESA, and has been a blessing!!! I drove an hour and a half to see a dog I’ve had my eye on for weeks, because it finally became available for adoption. I got there 10 on the dot excited. One of the workers insisted he was rescue only & completely blew me off when i tried showing her the description. She just glanced at my phone for a second and said some Animal ID & said “he’s rescue only, it should say there” she didn’t even give me the correct animal ID. I tried getting her to read the description but she kept insisting he was rescue only. I drove off, called the number on the site and they told me he is available 😔. I will be very disappointed to say the least if he gets adopted and I wasn’t able to get him all because of this worker .

I came here just last week because I had 2 cats that kept coming into my house/yard where I have my dogs and cat. I had been calling for a few months (off and on) to let them know these cats are roaming but didn’t look like stray cats because they were very well groomed, fed, and very sweet cats. Every time I called I got the runaround to call back in a few weeks which I continue to do eventually I decided to just walk in and take the cats in to see if they belong to anyone, when I got there the lady in the front Jasmine Was helping a man when she asked me if I found stray cats and I let her know that I’m not sure if they were strays but to go ahead and continue helping the guy she was already with. She then replied and said I just ask you one question which to me is very rude because I work in customer service I would never respond to a customer like that. When I was giving her the information she kept making comments and accusing me of lying about where I found the cats. At one point she made a comment that if they are my cats she is just going call me and make me go pick them up. I understand there are many stray animals especially cats in the city of corona but I was trying to do the right thing by possibly finding their owner or even giving them a chance to find a home people like Jasmine make it very hard when you go into a place like that and they have an attitude and seem so bothered by their job. I really do hate to write bad reviews but her customer service was horrible and could really use some work. I understand in every business it is busy and difficult and you get customers who can be a bit complicated but when we are just trying to be helpful the unnecessary comments and rudeness are uncalled for. I hope the cats find good homes.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. They do a wonderful job maintaining this place. However. I really dont care for the way animals get adopted out. If you have kids I would go alone.You run the risk of your kids getting attached and their hearts getting broken.If you find an animal you like they require you to come back on the day it is adoptable. If there is more than one person interested in the dog there is a raffle held. It all comes down to the luck of the draw. Applications are submitted after the drawing. It just seems to me that if you connect with a dog they should have a hold system and allow the first person to be first in line to get the dog. If that doesnt work out it goes to the next person in line and so on. Let the people who show interest show up and be first in line. I dont think I will be back. It just seems that there should be a better way to do this. This process is hard on the heart and it is not time efficient.

I visited the shelter last Saturday and saw a dog I love. The shelter said he was not available until 06/13/2020 and the waiting list is already full with 6 people in line. I waited for hour to ask to be added at the bottom of the list but they kept saying no and said no one can be added at this time. On Monday I call the shelter again and they said the waiting list is now full with 7 people (?) and still said that they cant add any more to the list.. So why now 7? Did they add someone they prefer???This shelter practice is not fair and they seem not honest at all.

Went to visit and see the new facility. Its very sleek looking and the cat cages look a lot more comfortable than the metal ones from the older facility. But walking to the dog area the smell hit me like a wall and I hadnt even gotten to the covered area, and it looked like it had just been hosed down. I also found it interesting that the rodent cage for rabbits and the like was right by the dog kennels where they could smell each other all day and night, which doesnt seem like a good idea for either species.

We live near it and wanted to check out the new facility, to make sure that the animals are being cared for properly and they have good living conditions. We ALMOST wound up adopting a cat but decided to wait as we already have three. She was adorable, though, and quite calm and relaxed around us - even our young grandson. We were well satisfied with what we saw and recommend it highly as THE place to go if you need a little furry companion in your life! Give a shelter animal a forever home today!

My kitten who is an indoor and outdoor cat and overly friendly was taken to the shelter because the people he [charlie] decided to visit that night thought he was lost. Within 5 minutes of the shelter receiving Charlie, I was contacted so I could go pick him up. Thank god hes chipped! And thank you to the wonderful people at this shelter who were already in love with Charlie by the time I got there and took such great care of him.

The dogs are lovely but I do not like how one of the employees handled my friends adopted dog. We went to visit a dog we adopted and the worker kept smacking my friends dog if he jumped on her. She slappped his face a few times. The workers should be trained to handle dogs and not hit the dogs. I was very upset to see this!

Love this shelter!! We adopted our 12 year old maltese, Molly, her, and have never seen such a clean, kind, shelter. The staff is amazing, and we could meet our new family member in a nice green park like area instead of a cold steel cage. Pets ARE forever, and we are grateful are Molly was at a shelter that gave her a chance at that forever.

I took my then 7 month old puppy, Quinn, who was a red heeler(Australian cattle dog) here. I heard they were a no-kill shelter, and it was super clean and we got a chance to see the cats, which seemed very happy. I went there few days ago to look for our cat Mowgli. The associates were very friendly & accomodating. It was so sad to see these beautiful Cats in their cages, wish I could adopt all of them. Apparently animal control does want them to get ran over because I was told “we don’t go out for cats, only dogs”. Hopefully the two small kittens in the road are okay and safe no thanks to animal control.

Bad experience with the staff we saw this puppy on line on 3/4/19 I called and they told me she was not going to be available till 3/11/19 we drove all the way from San Diego got there 1.5 hr before they opened we were first in line other people came almost at opening, they had a raffle and the person that took the lowest number was a worker at the facility. I don’t think that was fair the way they go about the adoptions it should be first come first serve. Not Happy I will never recommend this facility!!!!

If you want terrible customer service and a bad attitude, ask for Brianna Jaramillo. On February 26, I went in to ask about my dogs license and Brianna was so rude and disrespectful to me the minute I walked in. She didn’t answer any of my simple questions, became very hostile and stated arguing with me. If this is the quality of employees who are in charge then this shelter needs a change.

I had to have my 14yr old cat put to sleep, they seem very caring. They have you fill out paperwork with name age etc but then ask you the same questions when they type up their form. Considering why I was there that was a little irritating.

They are horrible and should not work with animals. I found a dog in bad shape in the streets. I approached the dog and it was really friendly, just looking for help. I took him to the shelter and wanted to turn him in and the people there were so rude, and showed no compassion for the pup. Treated me and the pup like an annoyance that was interrupting their web surfing or something. I know people get complacent at their jobs sometimes but we are talking about living creatures. They all need to be replaced with people who can actually show compassion and love to these lost animals.

The lady at the desk told me and my son that the adoption fees ranged from $50-$100 and when we picked out a dog she said the fee was $115. They also had the dog we wanted online as available but when we got there we were told the dog wasnt available until a week later. My 8 year old son was really sad that he couldnt go home with a dog. He was so excited just to be let down by the shelters misrepresentations.

If you have an animal that needs a home and you cannot take it anywhere DO NOT take it here. They automatically put them down. I was just told this in person this morning. I had no options and needed somewhere safe for this dog to go and they said they will need 75 dollars for the euthanization. That is just sick.. where is the heart in people caring for their community especially with animals... unreal.

Think Keystone Cops when dealing with these guys...They will take forever to get to a call. The cat and dog areas smell like they’re never cleaned. And their “auctions” are stupid. We found a declawed cat and went to take in. They wanted a rabies certificate and proof that it was spayed, plus $100. For a stray declawed cat! Go to Riverside, much more clean and helpful.

Me and my fiance found a black dog r arround so we asked around no luck i kept him for 2 days incase something came up i had no choice but to take him in he barked alot at first but when you gave him attention he had a big heart and didnt frighten me as we walked into the facility the lady at the front was rude and accused the dog of being aggresive and almost attacking a small dog truth be told he growled but as he backed away he kept barking as he did with us but as you try m love him he would seem to calmn down it makes me sad yo think the lady may have just said aggresive and may have shortened his life so sad

I like this place looks great staff seems to really care for the pets that are in here I saw some of them just inside with them in the kennels petting and giving them some attention and affection poor babies I was heartbroken though when I looked into their eyes I could see some of the saddness they still have in them due they were abandoned by their previous owners it came to some relief when I saw how attentive the staff really is any who I went insearch of my puppy that was taken away from my front yard by a dognapper in April and although he wasnt here the staff at the front desk were nice enough to care and ask if I could leave a flyer and my info just in case he showed up they said they would email I to local shelters so they can help with the search touched my heart ...thanks to their help and help of alot alot of caring people I was able to be reunited with my baby I found my puppy at the Norco shelter and the person who took him there was in fact the dognapper whom Ive come to find out it was a bad person who lives two houses down from mine I installed security cameras and the thief tried doing it again luckily at that time I was watching the surveillance monitor and caught her red handed smh
