Delicious! Always wanted to come to this spot for awhile now and finally got to come experience this whole coffee shop vibe was a bucket list fulfilled. Vibe is very calm. Love the employees, they were super friendly. The latte was spot on. Loved every sip of it. Very sesame which fits my taste and expectations from this latte. I also gave myself the opportunity to try one of their pastry, ham & cheese croissant. It was very toasty after a quick warmup. Very flacky in each bite. Expected from a croissant. Will need to come back to try their other drink selections 👌👌👌

CoRo is a very unique place. A very nice Cafe with very knowledgeable staff and a coop coffee roasting facility in the back, where you can watch the roasting and processing of the magic beans happen, right before your eyes. The feature some of the unique coffees that are roasted there and offer local baked goods, as well.

Looking for coffee and have a ton of time on your hands?The space is neat, there was a nice assortment of beans, and the menu is straightforward. Despite a handful of people working on their laptops, it was extremely quiet. Parking is street parking; we didnt know so we accidentally parked at an office next door.We thought itd be a quick stop so we could go on with our day, but the service went at a snails pace. Id like to believe it was just the barista who took our order and made drinks that day. A second barista jumped in after we waited a while and he was much faster.I ordered a vanilla latte and my partner got an espresso tonic. We waited up to 30 minutes for our drinks, and there was literally no one else ordering nor waiting in line. We watched as the barista did all sorts of things besides make coffee, like go on their phone and chat with people before touching any beans.I think we came on an off day, but with so many other coffee spots in the area, its unlikely wed come in again except to check out the beans.

This is among the best cappuccinos Ive ever had. Darkly reddish brown, balanced taste and served hot. This is what a cappuccino should be. In addition I appreciate the ethos of CoRo as well as the ambiance of the space -- I came here to study and enjoyed my view of the roasting room through the big glass wall. They have a good amount of seating, but getting there earlier is better, as youll also have less trouble finding free street parking outside. I also tried a slice of the vegan pumpkin loaf and loved it -- much fresher and spicier than the Starbucks equivalent. I cant wait to go back!

I enjoyed a latte paired with a chocolate croissant, both of which were absolutely delicious. The combination was a treat for the taste buds. While I had hoped to try their Black Sesame Latte based on a friends recommendation, it unfortunately wasnt available during my visit. Despite that, the overall experience was great, and I appreciate the quality of their offerings. Ill certainly consider returning to explore more in the future.

Really good coffee and pastries! I really appreciated them heating up pastries for dining in. As any croissant enthusiast knows, a little heat makes all the difference!So many different beans for sale. I think these are all their coffee members who roast at their facility? Loved this coffee shop, friendly baristas, cute cups and amazing coffee. You can view the processing unit inside and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee by the large street side windows or outside too. Our order was delayed due to come confusion and they gave us a complementary cup of coffee with sincere apologies.

Excellent hot chocolate. The employee came out to my table to ask what type of milk I wanted. I was able to get oat milk (no lactose) which I was glad they did. The coffee my had was very flavorful. But the sticky bun! Man that sticky bun was good. If Im ever in the area again it will be a must stop.

First-time visit at this coffee shop, and it wasnt enjoyable. There was this anxious busy commotion by the staff moving things around, prepping and delivering on orders, getting drinks ready, that just was noticeable and passed on its hectic energy through the cute place. While watching and waiting to place an order (about 5 mins being 2nd/1st in line) no one on staff (4 people moving about front of the house) staff didnt acknowledged waiting lines presence. This is the longest wait Ive encountered in a while being by the casheir, with 4-5 others waiting on their placed orders. So we just stood and watched them rush about their prep area. Just uncommon coffee shop vibe that somehow added stress to a typically not stressful morning start. Place was almost full, but the energy of the team felt like they had 4x orders of the people there. Regular pre-made 12oz coffee was $4. Cup couldnt hold the content and coffee leaked through 10/15 mins after order, luckily only into the cup holder.Coffee shop does offer various good coffee bean options for purchase to go.

I wish I had found this place sooner - it’s likely the best coffee shop in the east bay. Small but really nice space, amazing coffee, tasty pastries from starter and midwife + baker. I’ve been there a few times now and their drip, pourover, and espresso drinks have all been delicious. I also overhead that they do roasting and cupping classes, too :)

This is my second time at CoRo now, and both my visits have been fairly positive! A while back they had this amazing, seasonal S‘mores Latte drink that had a brulee’d marshmallow top — it was amazing (not available right now). I visited again today and ordered a large (seems like 16/20 oz) iced caramel latte.When I got up to the register, the person at the cashier said “Hello! How are you!” and I responded, but to my awkward surprise they were greeting a different customer who I assume is a regular here. They continued this conversation with them in front of me for a minute or so. Then when they finally turned to me, they made a comment about me speaking the language they were speaking it which I found awkward as well. Then I asked what syrups they have in their coffee, and they directed me to the menu without saying much. The menu only showed 2 drinks (vanilla/caramel latte) and I just wanted to know if there were any others I was missing as coffee shops often have more flavors than they list.Anyways, I got my caramel latte and asked for light ice. My total was $7.75 (light ice was an extra $0.50 just for a bit more milk) which I thought was quite steep. The drink itself also was pretty mediocre, nothing special, and barely tasted any flavor. I didn’t want to ask for extra syrup as that would’ve probably made the drink $8+. I probably won’t be returning but I acknowledge this is a cute spot with high quality coffee!

Great open airy decor. Cool vibe. Coffee is phenomenal..competes with any boutique cafe. And when they have SUBLIME Ghost Town Oat milk (small batch local) it outranks any place around! If you like Oatly, you’ll LOVE that oat milk - in a pink carton. The cafe is on a sweet little street in a residential are and is MUCH better than it looks on the outside as it’s next to a lame liquor store. Only negative is in summers the AC is cranking so being a sweater :)

It is VERY rare to encounter staff as amazing as the coffee but that’s what you’ll find at CoRo. The drinks alone are the best I’ve ever had but the baristas are so sweet and fun I wish I could stay all day. Special tip: don’t change a thing except for your milk preference. The recipes are excellently crafted by excellent people.

Can I give 6 stars?I had single origin espresso for myself and hot chocolate for my daughter.She described her drink as amazingly chocolate tasting and didnt feel like syrup based at all. It felt like real chocolate and she loved her drink. It had beautiful late art on it even as it was made with almond milk.The espresso was amazingly refreshing and has dynamic taste that I get very rarely. It had amazing balance of fruity and floral tastes, but also lots of depth and nuances. Pure joy to drink!Highly recommend to espresso enthusiasts who like espressos made in Portland OR.

There isn’t any food options besides the few pastries they offer, but that does not take anything away from the kind service they provide and the super TASTY coffee they make, not to mention their latte art skills. If you want good coffee in Berkeley, look no further than here. All coffee is fresh (they have a roastery in house) and served in very nice ornate-style cups. Brilliant shop. Also a cappuccino is only $5 (which is what it should cost everywhere) so it’s affordable for students!

We got a rosemary latte and a caramel latte.The rosemary latte is a well balanced inspirational drink. The caramel latte was one of the best I’ve had. Starts off pleasantly buttery with the caramel notes coming through in the middle. Finishing with a nice balance of espresso, milk, and caramel.Definitely coming back here every time we’re in the area.

Drink turnout needs work…baristas we’re very chatty and distracted.I came in with one person in line ahead of me, a barista abruptly yelled at a dog and owner which changed the vibe of the shop. If you’re not going to serve a normal vanilla latte, please consider communicating that ahead of the purchase. I have been ordering lattes for many years and have never drank such a “subtle” vanilla latte. I wanted a vanilla latte, not a normal latte, I can order the latter, if I want.I don’t have a problem with bad flavor, or any cafe deciding to be creative, but when I point it out to you all that this is NOT normal and show you that I haven’t drunk my drink, don’t give me an attitude - have some courtesy towards your guests man. I’m not trying to our smart anyone here, an apology or an empathetic explanation is all that a customer usually needs.

The chai tasted good but had a weird mouthfeel, and their empanadas had a good filling but very dry dough. Additionally, the business might want to update their register and their baristas on the local law — cashless business are illegal in Berkeley and the ordinance was passed last year so the barista who said “It’s not, I looked it up” might be a bit behind on the news.

This is the premier location for introducing someone to specialty coffee. The staff are incredibly well trained, and provide one of the most consistently delicious espresso experiences I have found.
