Cornerstone Counseling offers expert guidance to help you become the best parent you can be. I took this class to improve my co-parenting skills with my childs mother. The class truly captured my attention, helping me listen better and improve communication with my ex. I highly recommend Scott—he is professional, empathetic, and very responsive via text. I came to Scott Barrella and Cornerstone Counseling Center by way of the courts. Throughout the entire course, from start to finish, Mr. Barrella maintained a level of professionalism, approachability and communication that I truly appreciated. On top of that, his direct knowledge of the material, coupled with with his umbrella approach to the intensive coursework will be hard to match anywhere else. I worked with Scott for both Parenting and Anger Managment classes. I took these classes voluntarily and if you go in with an interest in learning and bettering yourself, he is a great guy to work with. Takes his time to listen to what youre going through, while he goes through the lessons, he gives you examples based on your experiences. I actually looked forward to the classes because working with Scott was comfortable and easy. Youll learn a lot and open your eyes if you go in willing to learn and not just there for a paper based on a mandate.

The best online court approved group classes available.Well, not sure where to start, but I just feel the need to write something to help other people make a decision when facing the overwhelming Provider List.You need to pull your-self together now. Stop procrastinating. Enroll in a class ASAP. Do research.I tried calling around but that sucked.I found Cornerstone Counseling from the Approved List and realized Cornerstone covered multiple areas. The lessons along with the constant sharing of participants in our sessions not only helps you through the struggle but changes your attitude towards relationships. Being in court ordered classes is a big pill to swallow, but Scott has a way of implementing his curriculum into everyone’s situation, making it fun and interesting at the same time, which gets everyone involved and participating. Options open up when least expected. My options in family court were fading fast when I found Cornerstone online. In person classes have proven to be difficult with my job. Scott Barrella has figured out a way to run his counseling service with a zoom option. I took my class out of convenience but quickly realized Cornerstone was the best choice for me. Enrollment was straight forward and easy. Connecting to my weekly class has been a snap.This class has made the best of a bad situation for me. With these classes I am able to show family court that I am meeting their requirements to move forward with my family.Feeling greatful.

The classes at cornerstone counseling center changed my life! I was going down a path of destruction, and I didnt have the tools necessary to make a change. Scott Barrella has been an amazing asset to our marriage and my husband and I would both highly recommend him to anyone considering getting assistance with any trouble spots in their marriage. We went to him due to several issues we were experiencing in our marriage and we felt like our marriage was in trouble. Scott helped us both to see things from the other persons perspective. He is a very straight shooter and let each of us know when we were being stubborn or when our actions were adversely affecting our goal of having a happy and healthy marriage. He gave us the tools to really get back on the same page, to work as a team, and to communicate in an effective manner and in a way to get our message or request across without offending or blaming. He clarified what healthy boundaries looked like and his guidance really helped to turn our marriage from one that was in trouble to one where we really are not only spouses, but partners, allies, and best friends. Scott runs a program that is life changing. When you think of an anger management class, you’d probably think there would be a bunch of angry men in an very uncomfortable room. The exact opposite! There’s no attitude, no egos, no tough guys. Like I said, exact opposite. After a short time it seems like everyone eventually drops their guard and really opens up. We talk, support each other, and give advice to one another. Even though it’s court ordered for me to be there, I look forward to seeing Scott and meeting up with these guys each and ever week.

Scott Barrella is the cornerstone of the Cornerstone Counseling Center. The man is a dynamo and does just about everything single-handedly. Need an emergrancy appointment? Scotts there, usually in minutes. Need a critical report written in record time? Scott will throw his personal weekend plans to the wind and focus on you. Your problems are his problems and he is a great problem solver.Hes not the nampy-pampy type who will coddle you just because you think youre a special snowflake. But what he does, and does well, is listen, digest, analyze, and then quickly begins working with you on pragmatic actions and solutions to your issues. He will challenge your thinking when it is warrented and will praise you when your thinking about an issue is spot on.His no-nonsense style is unique but in my experience it is far more valuable in the pursuit of progress as contrasted with those therapists who nod their head a lot in agreemnt with you and say a lot of nice things. The bottom line is Scott Barrella gets things done when others dont.

UPDATE, Since posting this review this court appointed co parenting counselor then called my ex to discuss my negative review of his unethical practice and my ex then in his usual attempt to have his daughter interrogated by CPS, it became matter of record that I was such a crazy person to warn others of his unethical conduct he made it part of the county CPS report as if that isnt a waste of resources for the children truly in danger. Lets see how Mr. Scott justifies this review when he calls my ex again to complain about why he would make things worse for my daughter when that is not what he is appointment to do. But he will collect your cash and not make you be there for all hours required he do so. CHA ching Cha ChingTotally unethical Counselor. During high conflict court ordered co-parenting sessions, Scott Barella then proceeded to provide services to only one party. He then discussed my circumstances with father because co-parenting classes are not confidential. My ex was then allowed to secure him under client confidentiality while exposes my private sessions with my ex to be used against me. I think it highly unethical. I suggest anyone required to take co-parenting do so from separate counselors. My daughter went from being an high academic achiever to nearly failing 3rd grade because of unethical people like this.

I will be reporting Scott Barrella to his licensing board. He is a very careless and dangerous man. He didnt understand the seriousness of a high conflict custody case and sought to ask for information from a hostile party, information he already had. His license number is 32532 California. I encourage all who have had a bad experience with this man to use it to document his careless behavior. I will be contacting the board very soon and let them know that his egregious conduct has put myself and my child in potential danger. He lied and claimed he couldnt comfirm a number he had used several times to appease an abusive obsessed person he took a liking to. This is a mother and child in a vulnerable position and he felt it was necessary to brush their concerns off. He committed a ethical violation and he will be held accountable for it.

First of all my wife asked him what his prices are and he said that they would talk about it at the appointment. At that time he charged my wife $25 to sign up and then $100 after her session without telling her what his rates were. I feel like she was taken for her money without giving her the proper information. To top it off it was not even focus based, he read it out of a book. I feel like we could have read that at home for $6!!! Were not happy with his services and dont advise anybody to go there.
