Dr. Healy is an excellent cardiologist and as his practice is with COR associates hes backed by an large, multi-expertise staff. Without going into all my particulars, I experienced a sudden on set of AFib in mid-2023. After stabilzing me with medications he took what Id consider a conservative approach in running several diagnostics first, rather than jumping to a more invasive procedure like ablation. My quality of life has improved and the prognosis is good!

I really wish I could give a great review about my visit but I didn’t even make it past the lobby. We arrived to our appointment at 8:15 which is what was scheduled over the phone for us. When we get there the front desk lady tells us that we are late to our appointment and proceeded to say our appointment was at 8 am instead of 8:15. I told her that we were scheduled over the phone for 8:15 but nonetheless there should be a 15 minute grace period. When I brought that up she said we didn’t get there till 8:20 and when she looked down at the time it was 8:27? She said we should have been arrived and checked in for the appointment at 7:45 am for the “8 am appointment” but they don’t open until 8 am itself? When I asked to speak to the manager she brought over the supervisor Stephanie who was very unprofessional and rude. I asked over and over if there were any other appointments available and they proceeded to say no until finally saying there’s one open in 4 days. My fiancé is currently on disability and really needed to get a follow up as soon as today but this hospital did not care.

New Posting May 11 2022I have been going to Dr Jackson for over 15 years and hasnt changed his personality, or kindness. He is compassionate, caring, patient (even if I interrupt him) and listens with intent. He goes beyond what other doctors do. I get better answers from him than my primary doctor concerning other issues than my heart. He calls back instantly and he has never rushed me after all these years.I believe he knows your chart better than he knows his address! He is caring, empathetic and the most competent physician. He puts other docs to shame and I walk out of his office every time with the attitude Im fine and I have to share his kindness!I have been a patient of Dr Jackson for many many years. His bedside manner is impeccable! He actually listens to everything you have to say and makes you feel like he truly cares about restoring your wellbeing. I was very impressed by my first visit to Dr. Jacksons office. The front desk person was friendly and appreciated that I had completed my new patient paperwork ahead of time. I was brought back shortly after arrival. My visit was for an echocardiogram. The tech was clearly very experienced and the exam went very smoothly. I returned to see Dr. Jackson 2 days later. He was very pleasant and it was apparent that he was familiar with my case. His attentiveness and calm demeanor were reassuring and made me feel very comfortable as he reviewed the findings on the echo. The exam was thorough and he concluded with a summary that set out his treatment plan. It was, indeed, a pleasure and a privilege to meet Dr. Jackson.

I took off two stars because of the billing and NOT the healthcare team.I saw Dr. Jafar to evaluate my heart palpitations. This included an exam with her, an EKG, and also an echocardiogram (performed elsewhere). Dr. Jafar and her staff were great, I have zero complaints about them.However, when it came to billing and insurance, it was a total nightmare because I kept getting billed multiple times for the same services. My appointments were in September and October of 2022 and I just got a bill at the end of January 2023. I got a breakdown of the costs from my insurance company and it’s insane how much is charged by the medical office itself, and then the hospital. At the time I had Anthem Blue Shield PPO and this was in-network.If you’re able to do so, I recommend finding an independent cardiologist not affiliated with Torrance Memorial. The additional hospital charges are crazy. I ended up paying over $1000.
