We boarded our dogs here for several days and Conejo did a wonderful job. The kennel manager was very professional and the staff was great too. The kennels and facility were clean. I appreciate the strictness of making sure the animals are all up to date on their medical records. When I picked up my dogs, the staff brought my dogs to me one by one so I was not overwhelmed while loading them into the car. Im always scared about who I am leaving my animals with, but Conejo made me feel like my dogs would be AOK - they were returned to me clean, happy and healthy.

I cant say enough kind things about this vet hospital!! Theyre a bit more expensive than other vets but Im a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Everyone at CVVH is kind and a pleasure to work with and the hospital is amazingly clean. I was sad to hear they are no longer a 24 hour emergency vet hospital as this was one of the reasons I chose them to care for my dogs. Dr. Ohm is fantastic and Im so glad he is there now full time! We recently saw Dr. Salas for our new puppys wellness exam and she was so sweet and very thorough. You cannot go wrong with CVVH, the absolute best at what they do!!

While there have been changes to how this veterinary practice is run (hours, handling of emergencies), my pets most recent visit went very well. It was easy to schedule an appointment and Dr. Salas was attentive and answered all questions. Most importantly, my cat was calm throughout the entire visit. I would highly recomment Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital.

I have been coming to CVVH for probably 3 years. My small dog ended up having many issues and had to be brought in and stayed for days for pancreatitis. It ended up to be chronic and all the help and support made it much easier for me to navigate thru to a new normal.Then it came time when my dog was ready to lay her head down for the last time. My feelings over the situation was taken to heart by all Dr Kane and the rest of the staff and I was supported in my decision when to say goodbye.I am excited to start afresh with a familiar medical team to care for my new puppy for years to come.As for prices. I am sure you can find cheaper. But there are places that are astronomically more as well. I find the pricing fair and upfront. I was even charged too much for something and at a future visit I was told I had a credit so my current bill would be less (it happened twice and it was not much … around $9 once and I think $20 the other time … but it was much appreciated)

I brought my baby boy here back in September so this review is long overdue. The staff here are truly wonderful people. My baby is a 5 pound chihuahua mix and he was having severe food allergies. Dr. Jeffrey Ohm (not sure if I spelled this correctly) was amazing; he told me to try feeding him cod and so far so good knock on wood. I highly recommend this pet hospital!!

We have been going here for 5 years for our two dogs. Decided to leave because anytime there is an issue with the dogs, they are not able to diagnose and give a blanket of causes along with a range of meds. Last visit was more than $800 and none of it worked. There is a petit vet there who spoke for more than an hour when I brought my dog in to ask for worm meds. I even mentioned to her I got to go to pick my child from school and even then she would not stop talking and kept on about all possible things that could go wrong with the dog.

Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital has many great Doctors to choose from.The hospital is very cheerful and bright inside with plenty of room. All the staff are professional and knowledgeable. This is the only veterinary that my dog Bullet does not shake because hes scared.We had to take my dog Bullet to the Veterinary on Sunday June 9th for allergy issues and we meet Dr.Salas for the first time, what a great Doctor. We learned a lot about allergies and different medications that can be used. We are very happy that we met her.

Staff was really nice. Taking my sick mutt on a weekend- Great!Everything was 5 star IMHO until I decided I would hold off surgery and find a better price. They gave me all the medical records except the one I needed - The ultrasound. I can not even get a quote from other doctors or hospitals with out this. I did learn a lesson. My lesson was, before I pay a huge bill at a hospital, I will make sure I have all the medical records in hand.

Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital provides expert care with utmost compassion! We had an urgent care situation that happened a couple days ago, our current vet could not bring us in so we were referred to call CVVH and we are so grateful we did! From the moment we called to the moment we walked out the door we were all treated with the best care and warm kindness. They were able to quickly schedule the surgery that our boxer needed and we have full faith that the vet surgeon and staff will do all they can to ensure it is successful. We highly recommend them and will now be patrons for life! 🐾🐾

In reading other peoples negative reviews, I dont get it at all. Weve had a wonderful experience here with our rabbits. They are kind, caring and always absolutely get us in on time for our appointments - no waiting. We are so thankful we have found them. We drive quite a way to get there, but it is totally worth it. Theres another bunny vet 5 minutes from me, but I will never go there again. Conejo Valley Vet is the best!

This place has been a godsend. I live in Simi and I will happily make the drive to see the doctors here. My family unfortunately was sold a sick Boston terrier puppy with parvo in May and she has since made a full recovery and is in great health thanks to Doctor Whalen and all of the staff. Dr Whalen truly cares about his patients and made sure our Lulu got the best care possible while keeping us updated twice a day throughout the entire process. It is so nice to bring her in now for checkups and to see how excited he gets to see Lulu and how healthy she is. Again- we love this place and can’t thank Dr Whalen and all of the staff there enough.

Weve been with Conejo Valley Vet for years - like so many others. We currently have three fur children and visited with Dr. Whalen. He was so thoughtful and attentive. We have been going to Conejo Valley vet for 5 years now and is a really great place to take your pet. They are very clean and sanitized. The staff is kind and helpful and Dr. Matzuka is so caring and compassionate. She is wonderful and we appreciate everything that she does for us. Sometimes the phones are really busy but having the option to text or email and get a response is a great option. Also with this COVID-19 situation I appreciate how they allow one person to go in during visits, where most places do not allow any. I would definitely recommend them!!

I came to put my dog down late in the evening on July 4 and was treated with the utmost care and respect. The night time staff were so very compassionate and kind. They allowed us plenty of time to be with my dog. The veterinarian calmly and quietly explained the procedure and what to expect so there would be no surprises. This was the hardest thing I’ve had to do in a very long time and I feel like they eased my own pain and anguish significantly. I’m so grateful.

Ryan and Haley went out of their way to make sure our dog Sig was as comfortable as possible during our emergency visit. We had to rushing to the closest open Vet hospital after he got bit at the park. Sig is always super nervous at the vet. Knowing he likely needed stitches we were thinking this was going to be a very rough visit. But honestly Ryan and Haley went above and beyond to get him to feel as relaxed as possible. Thank you for making what could have been a very rough evening into one that was the best it could be under the circumstances. Yes, he got stitches but he also made two new friends.

Our poor dog has a very puffy eye, itching etc. I called today and she called me back and said in order to accelerate our wait time, we would need to pay a $500 deposit to just start!!!I told her shame on you taking advantage of us. Wow, I understand everyone needs to keep their doors open, but whatever happened to being fair and honest? God bless them and hope one day the do the right thing.

We had to take our baby girl into CVVH on an emergency basis (loss of use of back legs and could not walk). Other vet hospitals we normally go to in my area were at full capacity. I was expecting the worst-case scenarios and expenses to evaluate, diagnose, and treat at a new location with an Urgent Care admission. The Doctor at CVVH was amazing. He took the time to sit down with me and showed true compassion. At my dogs older age (11) the Doctor recommended treating her based on physical findings opposed to additional and expensive tests that would possibly be overkill and not change treatment. I was expecting an expensive bill when we arrived. Instead, I found a caring Doctor that displayed love for the animals he sees and thinks about the proper evaluation and treatment instead of performing unnecessary tests to make an extra dollar (or hundreds/thousands). It was heart-warming to find a vet that cares about our pet’s well-being and not a straight business trying to make money on owner’s emotional attachment knowing they will do anything or pay anything for them. This was my first experience and impression with their office, and I plan to return for future regular routine needs. The nurse and tech staff were just as amazing. Never have I had a greater experience with a vet and especially during an emergency episode.

We love all the staff at CVVH. The foyer and offices are clean, and the staff are all friendly, courteous, helpful. They understand that our furry family members are just that, family members. They treat them (and us) with the highest level of care. We have been taking Atticus, our Standard Poodle, there since he first came to live with us over 2 years ago. Were always able to go into the exam room with him and the Drs are very informative.

I take all my pets here.Pros: kind staff, local, large facility, short wait times during the weekdays. Vet techs really care for your pet. Thorough wellness checks, much better than our previous vet. Easy parking.Cons: difficult to make appointments, I dont think they have a reptile doctor. I have not been satisfied when I bring my turtle in, they seem to just be guessing. I dont leave feeling confident. I know reptiles can be hard but my reptile vet in San Diego always knew exactly what to do and was very knowledgeable. He did have 1 surgery here and it went well, for that Im very thankful. Its also difficult to have different vets see my dog every time we go in because they have differing opinions. We will be going back again because with the weight loss plan she doesnt lose any weight. I wanted her thyroid checked.Its impossible to get a vet on the phone or any follow up questions answered. We spend $1,000 for 2 appointments and cant get any answers when we call. Vet techs say one thing, vet said another...they cant get answers from vet cant even tell me if I should stop meds or not. Very confusing info. I wish there was better care and clearer information.For emergency services I have been turned away the 3x I needed it. Only once was I referred to a different vet. Other 2 times I just got a sorry, good luckI wouldnt count on them as my go to emergency vet, I think its a good idea to have a second one handy. I guess they are understaffed which I dont think many people expect since its such a big facility in comparison to other vets in the area.

The staff got this to 3 stars -- they are quite good. Nice to see folks taking pride in what they do. Great petside manner. My dog had an obvious infection and needed antibiotics. Im not sure why vets recommend blood tests to rule out other things when people doctors dont do that (I declined the blood test). My mistake was not to take the Rx elsewhere. It cost $98 for 14 tablets. The same Rx would be $16.50 online. Ill happily pay a markup for the convenience, but what theyre doing is gouging.

I called this past Sunday and just like my last review, my pup 🐶 Sweet Pea, was taken such good care of. The vet, a lady on June 24.24, was amazing. She diagnosed her, she was compassionate, listened to everything I shared about whats going on with Sweet Pea. Far and above the best emergency veterinary care Ive ever received for my cat. This is the only clinic Ive ever felt totally comfortable. From receptionist to surgeon, these folks care about every individual animal as if it were their own. They partner with you to provide the best care and do not take advantage of your pain by charging astronomical prices for their incredible care. A friend recommended them after I had a horrible experience with a hospital that wanted to over treat my kitten and charge me $1000 for treatment that would have harmed her. Our new puppys first adventure to the world beyond home was a cautious one. The staff at Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital knew exactly how to work with that. They were comforting and reassuring to the little guy.Dr. Lavie answered all my questions and concerns thoroughly. I decided to go with this pet hospital because of so many great reviews and the first appointment went amazingly well. I brought my dog in and she saw Dr. Ohm who was very thorough, kind, and gave practical options for what we could do to help my dog. However, once we started asking clarifying questions to make sense of everything their attitudes changed and we started to get the run around. Originally we were supposed to get a CT scan to see if she had a tumor behind her eye and if so would do a full enucleation and if not, we would just do a third eye removal. Dr.Ohm made it very clear that third eye removal surgeries are very common and he’s done them plenty of times and only takes about 5 minutes. So we agreed to do the CT scan but after reviewing her medical records he didn’t think it was necessary and Rebecca the office manager called to let me know that it would be best to have their in house eye doctor take a look at her. I was still concerned about the CT scan because if there is a mass might as well remove the whole eye. She got the eye doctors second opinion and said she also agreed it was not medically necessary but would need to have full appointment before scheduling surgery. We agreed and had the appointment and the eye doctor, Dr. Yokum, said she never said that and that she’s not an ophthalmologist or an eye specialist. So now I’m confused. During the appointment she didn’t even know how to use the eye pressure tool, the vet assistant had to show her. She said third eye surgeries were not common and she’s only done one so I didn’t feel comfortable having her do my dogs surgery. I let Rebecca know this and requested for Dr.Ohm to do it and she said no he can’t spend time during urgent care to do a surgery. But he originally was going to do it with no issue so what changed? Now I get to start this whole process over while trying to get care for my dog. So not only did we get the run around, get pawned off to a doctor that isn’t even an eye doctor or eye specialist as we were told, the office manager lied to us, bread crumbed us, and eventually sent us on our way, which we anticipated because of the change in behavior and response. If advocating for my dog and asking clarifying questions when things don’t add up causes this, then so be it. Terrible experience and huge waste of time. Do not recommend.

Dr Evan Antin is absolutely the best veterinarian! He is caring, thorough and really takes the time to explain next steps (dental cleaning under anesthesia, etc.). We have used Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital for over 23 years with our previous 2 Labradors, and now with our smaller rescue dogs. The facility is immaculately clean and the staff is wonderful and attentive.

I was so impressed with every staff member I encountered. Bless them all for staying open during COVID19 pandemic. Dr. Kummerfeldt was extremely detailed with his explanations, repeating himself when I needed it, with patience. He called with the lab results as soon as he had them, which was amazing. He gave me instructions carefully on observing symptoms. They took great care and caution to protect staff and customers from the virus as well. And he explained what procedures could wait to avoid unnecessary costs.Couldn’t figure out how to do another review so ….Update 2021-07I went again recently due to my Non emergency vet saying I needed an ultrasound. At Conejo, Dr Kelly did the ultrasound and gave me option of doing additional exam and consulting with me directly or instead consulting with my regular non emergency vet, thus saving the trouble of exam, meaning less kitty stress and money savings for me.I saw Dr Whelan after that who also saved me unnecessary costs and drama for kitty by suggesting Options of less intrusive possibilities other than biopsy first. He also explained in great detail about why he made certain assessments and judgments. Which I sorely needed as I hate not understanding the why of treatments.I have such faith that even though it’s a drive for me from out of town, I felt it would be easier to use them from now on as my routine vet as well so that everything is in one place since the issues will be ongoing. (Digestive disorder likely )Each time I talk to others in the waiting room they rave about this place. Sometimes travelling quite some distance to attend.Update : I forgot to say they text after the appt to follow up and even answer questions via text from that post visit text trail. How many companies do that? Incredible. It makes the client believe they actually care whether your pet gets better. And every single staff member is polite patient and friendly. Even though I’m usually wigged out when I arrive.Update 2023-10-21Apparently I can’t do a new review once I’ve done one and I can only edit old ones.I went again today and am so impressed with how careful everyone is with the pets’ mental health. If a cat is nervous they will let it wait with its “cat mother” in a private quiet room while blood tests results are being processed and even allow checkout and payment in same private room. They are so good with questions and never rush the client. They all seem to love animals.Dr Ohm was very detailed in his explanations. He was extremely attentive to urgent situations and quick to assess.It was clear they would only do necessary procedures and not take advantage financially of client worry. There is such a relief in that kind of trust in an agency.It’s no wonder every time I go there it’s busy and there are people coming from all different places, even as far as LA.

I took my Lily (lovebird) here in the middle of the night. We had a medical emergency and they were the nearest hospital that would see a bird. I live in Granada Hills, so the drive took about 40 min. Regardless of how long it took us to arrive. I would do it again without a moments hesitation. When we arrived the receptionist was expecting us and took Lily to the back to have her examined by the vet. We were extremely blessed to have Dr. Karina de Anda as our vet. She was beyond caring and understanding. She explained everything very honestly and with so much sympathy. Even thinking about it now Im amazed by the care that we received, not only for my Lily but for me as well. Dr. Karina de Anda was extremely patient with me. Specially after I had to make the decision to put my Lily down. I was an absolute mess, but they never once tried to rush me to make a decision. They were so supportive and understanding. It took me a very long time to come to terms with what I had to do and to finally be able to give the consent to put my Lily bird down. Even after my Lily passed they gave me a leather memorial keepsake with her footprints and her name. I wont lie, I was a complete and utter disaster. Specially after they handed me the memorial keepsake and the box I brought her in. Im writing this now, almost 3 weeks after Ive lost my Lily bird with tears running down my face because I received a hand written letter from Dr. Karina de Anda giving me her sincerist and most beautiful condolensces. She even remebered my Lily by name. So to Dr. de Anda and the staff at Conejo Valley, thank you. Thank you for taking care of us and thank you for being the most amazing and wonderful Veterinary Hospital. I am eternally grateful.

My pets have been patients here since 2005. I now need meds for my pet. I called in a refill and because of a past experience I asked what was the expiration date for the bottle of med I was refilling for almost $100? Guess what? it expired in 1 month. My dog takes a small 0.8 ml dosage so this is insane. For that amount of money my dog wont drink all this medication within the month. This bottle usually last 3 months. So they want to make me pay for something that will be tossed literally in 3-4 wks. So I requested a smaller bottle the lady skimped so much that this refill wont last 1 month. She basically sold me an empty bottle. This is a nice place gone bad. Also how did I go from 20 refills to 4? I refill every 3 months what the heck is going on with you guys? Also there is no transparency the bottles dont have measurements on them so they sell you whatever they want for any price they wish and you pay blindly. Its really a shady practice. Please Beware.

Pet owners, BEWARE. Twice my cat was returned to me from this place shaking in fear with her fur, as well as her new splints, soaked in urine. My cats have been coming to this veterinary hospital for years, but I won’t ever come back here after the experience I had when my cat tore a ligament. Before I knew what the problem was, I brought her in immediately while she was limping and crying in pain, and after being examined, was sent home with nothing but pain medication. With no improvement, we returned the next day. I want to note that in the exam room I could hear the staff behind the door yelling, joking, and saying a lot of expletives, which disturbed my already anxious cat. While the doctors seemed to be friendly and reassuring, I got no direct answers about her condition and my cat was then sent home with a splint that was put on incorrectly. I know this because I took my cat to another vet after this vet told me to go somewhere else as they didn’t have the equipment to image her ligaments. My poor cat was howling in pain all night because of how poorly the splint was done. Twice she was carelessly handed over to me with her new splint soaked in urine, which could’ve caused dermatitis and should’ve been redone immediately. At my new vet, she never once went home shaking or covered in urine.

Waited almost 6 hours to be seen… they said it’s because they had 3 critical others to deal with but they were out before us and we got there BEFORE them and we still waited another 3 hours after these patients left. We were the only ones there at that point. My cat had an eye injury and there was no reason it should’ve been that long. Having my cat sit in a room by itself that long. Did a follow up with my vet 2 days after. Took them 30 minutes tops, to look at the eye, give their consultation and run tests. NEVER coming here again.

Wonderful experience. My Doberman had an a nasty abscess between her toes. On Monday I took her to a vet in my neighborhood that we had never been to before but was needed to get her seen as our vet was booked. After a lengthy wait the doctor came in and kept calling her “him” which seemed weird. He wanted to go in from the bottom of her paw and see if a splinter or some foreign object was there. The doctor left the room and 2 techs came in with an estimate of costs for a $1,200. surgery! WHAT!… a surgery? Nope, not my pup. Seemed EXTREMELY excessive. I said NO and asked for an antibiotic shot and some pills and got out of dodge. The next day her paw looked bad and I was worried about her. I called my regular vet and FOUR other vets and NOT one place could get her in because they were booked. My mom and sister go to Conejo Valley so I called them even though we are in Encino. I was told no problem and we could bring her in right away. We got there and were taken immediately. The nicest Dr. Hughs came in. He wanted to lightly probe the area to check to see if anything was in there (there was not) and flush it out to clean it. No surgery suggested. He did his thing, bandaged her up sent us off with more antibiotics and sent us on our way for $277.00 which for a vet seemed reasonable. In and out within an hour. She is doing great. Was so pleased with the offices, the people, how clean it was, the speed in which they saw us and the very confidence and conservative way they treated her. Received a follow up email the next day to see how she was and if we had any questions. I left a message and they got back to me very quickly with my answer. Loved how professional and competent it was. It’s now Thursday and the abscess has gone down significantly and she’s doing great. Found our new vet! Couldn’t be happier with them.

Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital is a true gem for pet owners in the Thousand Oaks area. I took my Golden Retriever there last Sunday and the emergency access charge was very reasonable - maybe $40 more than their normal charge for a non-emergency, non-Sunday visit. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. The Vet Doc, Dr. Ohm (I’m sure I’m spelling his name wrong), is very nice and patient, taking his time to explain everything, and he’s obviously a really smart guy. The biggest problem I had was that they finished too fast. I was all set up to get some work done on my phone (I figured I’d be there for a few hours) and they were already done with everything for my Golden in around 30 minutes. Bottom line, it looks like we found a new vet for my best friend. Trust me, the place is great - you won’t want to take your own best friend anywhere else.

Im giving Conejo Valley 5 stars despite them not being able to see my pet during my last ER visit solely because of the level of compassion and care that I and others waiting with me had experienced. I brought in my rabbit late on a Monday night because he had not been eating or pooping regularly for the last two days. We ended up having to wait over two hours because of unforeseen circumstances with inpatient dogs and additional dogs who had presented with much more life-threatening conditions than my rabbit was experiencing. We had been checked on twice during our wait with updates, the second one being done by the ER supervisor Jessica who kindly explained the situation to us about the extended wait times. Considering the severity of the other animals that came in after me, all I wanted to make sure was that my rabbit was stable since I was certain he wouldnt be seen that night and she assured me he was, but also that, should things go south immediately after, she would take us in without question. I was not disappointed that my rabbit was unable to be seen -- its an emergency room after all -- however, that experience assured me that, should I ever have to bring him in for a life-or-death situation, they would have taken him immediately without question.

We have been taking our animals to Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital for years in emergency/end of life situations and switched to using them as our primary Veterinary service 3 years ago. The staff are wonderful with all the animals and pet parents. They allow us to bring our 2 dogs and 1 cat to the same appointment room so we can accomplish regular check-up dates with one visit rather than 3. Pharmacy on premises is also convenient. The facility is very nice and clean. Although we have not used the daycare or boarding to date, it is nice to know those services are available if we need them.

It was there that I met the vet I later went to as she opened her own clinic to do East/West medicine and treated exotics like my English LopsWhen she retired I immediately went back to CVVH and have been there ever since. As a nurse I know you cannot pay a good diagnostician enough. and I know what good care is.Recently I had to medically board my beloved aged collie there as he became ill and I was on vacation in Mexico. They were so good to him!This last January when I had to finally let him go they were wonderful. All the staff who took care of him sent me a wonderful card with personal messages.I believe that their prices are at the higher end of the continuum but I feel they do provide the quality and always offer options.So why after all this glowing compliments do I give them 4 stars instead of 5? It is because they do not support Eastern medicine options like acupuncture which kept my last 2 collies going when traditional medicine could not offer me any help. Also Chiropractic which I personally have not had to use on my animals but I know that friends animals have really benefited from treatment. We had the greatest experience this past weekend while we took in our dog for her annual check up. She is a one year old Corgi mix with Toy Australian Shepard. My thought was we would wait a long time because we did get a weekend appointment but the waiting area was empty. We checked in and right away they weighed Melody. We waited a couple minutes and then we were called into a room. The staff was very friendly and didnt have to wait a long time to see the Vet. Dr. Kane was great with our sweet Melody. I brought my dog here on 1/23/23 because she was having difficulty breathing so I took her around 9 in the morning. When the vets took her back they said her breathing was “not as severe” as other dogs they have seen, and was borderline. Ok? I’ve taken care of my dog for the past 14 years and I’ve never seen her have this much of a hard time breathing. They told me it would be best to take some x rays and blood samples to figure out what was going on and so I agreed, anything to help her feel better. Turns out from the x rays that most likely she had a heart murmur, causing her to have difficulty breathing. The vet said she had about a year left. They suggested on taking her to a cardiologist and sent me home with medication to help. I left feeling uneasy and my dog still not breathing properly. About five hours later my dog passed away in my arms and I rushed her to this vet again. The vet said there was nothing he could do and that her heart was “different”. Me, alongside my family were heartbroken. I don’t understand, they said she had a year left? Why would they suggest a cardiologist for my dog if they knew she was going to pass the same day? I’m angry, I paid nearly $1,000 for my poor dog to pass away the same day. I wish they gave me an option to put her to sleep that morning rather than have her suffer for five more hours. This review is meant to warn pet owners, if you know something is not right TELL THEM! Listen to your gut. However the women who took our dog back to groom her one last time was very sweet and comforting. This is more for the vet that misled me.

We brought our extremely sick, old cat last Wednesday to be euthanized and were charged for Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospitals services. Almost a week later we received a call from a third party crematory company alleging we owe them $200 for a cremation. No one at Conejo Valley Vet Hospital stated that we would be owing any more money than the large amount we had already paid for their services. Thus, we reasonably assumed that Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital would be disposing of the remains like every other vet we have ever used during this sad family experience. In addition, after speaking to the crematorium, we were informed that not only did Conejo Valley Vet Hospital fail to inform us of this important fact, but then went on to instruct the cremation company to do a very expensive private cremation which I obviously never had agreed to. Bad internal communication all around at this company.

I brought my golden in because he had had diarrheafor 10 days and even though his fecal was normal he still continued to have it. I used the ER vet for the first time and arrived at the waiting room and only had to wait 10 minutes before going back and seeing the vet. Dr Kelly is amazing. She spent a good 30 minutes with my boy and set my mind at ease and helped me develop a meal plan of bland food and pumpkin eventually introducing one of his 2-3 foods gradually in 4 days to figure out what was causing it. He was honest and upfront about what he thought the possibilities were for our dog who was very sick. Our vets (we had seen 2 in our office) at the time did not listen to us or try to get to the source as quick as possible, and we almost lost our dog because of it. They were quick to give us meds, charge a LOT and send us home. Turns out we didnt need most of what was given to us and the tests were not needed. Not at Conejo! He asked the proper questions, gave us his opinion and options, and sent us on our way to the hospital. Had it not been for him and his quick thinking, she would not have made it. Not only were we impressed with this vet and the office for our experience that night, but they also followed up to make sure our puppy was doing okay! We HIGHLY recommend this place and will be going back. In fact, we will be changing them to be our primary vet going forward. Although not as conveniently located to us as our (now previous), its worth the extra 15-20 minutes. We would trust the vet at Conejo with all of our animals hands down!

She was intramental in effecting my insurance company to drop a so called preexisting condition due to a microchip swelling. My past 2 dogs and my current dog have always been well cared for by the doctors and technicians. I prefer to stick with one doctor that I feel comfortable with for all visits. When my past 2 dogs were seniors and had medical problems, the doctors were able to extend their lives with medical treatment. Three weeks later, on March 31st, Frank developed diarrhea, I called Dr Kane immediately. I was told that he had called in and that there were no other vets on staff even in the ER. I monitored Frank but the symptoms graduated to vomiting and lethargy. I called Dr. Kane again later and the next day but the same thing. He called in and no other vet at their ER. I was new to the area and the receptionist gave a list of various vet hospitals was and it was overwhelming. In between all of this I was syringe feeding Frank water and trying valiantly to keep him hydrated as he was on diuretics. I ended up taking Frank to VSEC ER around 8pm on Sunday April, 2nd. I waited at the ER until he was released at around 2am. I was hoping to at least receive a call from Dr. Kane at this point. Nothing. We rested and in the morning, Frank had some food and I gave him the medicine Entyce for his appetite. I put Frank on the bed with me, and I noticed his breathing was very odd. Short quick breaths. I took him right away to VSEC. Tried to also call Dr. Kane I was hoping at some point that would be back from wherever he was to check in as I had left urgent messages. Dr. Norris and Dr. Antonella Andretti at VSEC examined Frank, and with my ok ran many tests that concluded to Frank being in acute kidney and heart failure. They repeated to me that he was in a lot of pain and that his numbers were way off the charts. I wanted to take him home but was convinced that because Frank was in major pain and his age, being 15, that Euthanasia was the most humane choice as he would die painfully at home. I wasnt able to reach Dr. Kane for a 2nd opinion. I live alone. I am a senior. My Frank was my world. I know dogs die. We all do. Not the point. I felt so secure knowing that I had found a good vet in Dr. Kane.. But I lived my worst nightmare. I, at least wanted to speak with him over the phone during this critical time. He did return my call a week later and I asked if I could send records for his review, to her his opinion, even though Frank had passed. Frank was his patient, after all. Three months passed and I had not heard a peep from him after I sent the records. He never said I did the right thing. I told him I did not want to put hi down but the ER vets said it was the only option as he was dying. He said you may not have wanted to but you okd them to put Frankie down. Its hard, I know but he is at peace. First of all, HIS NAME WAS FRANK. FRANK!!! Not Frankie. AND I had been given no other choice, no 2nd opinion. No other ER Vets available at the clinic where I established his care. Franks vet, DR KANE was no where to be found with no other vets at the clinic to see my baby. This was my worst nightmare and the disrespect from his response was horrible. Shame on you. Maybe I am the only one who experienced anything like this- I certainly hope I am the last. Our pets are our family. To some of us they are our entire world.

We were very happy with our experience!! Our Sweet puppy got into a very large amount of Christmas Chocolate and was very sick. We had to leave him there over night and the staff was very caring and responsive! They gave me a number to text through the night to check on him and they responded right away! The most amazing part was after paying up front a very large amount of money later the next day they called me back to give me a large refund because they didn’t end up needing to do all they planned on needing to do! I was shocked at the honesty...I would have never known if I was owed a refund! The vet also checked in the following day to see how the puppy was doing! My senior chihuahua appeared to have a major skin infection and sores on her skin that she was biting at continuously over night so I called Conejo on Sunday of a holiday weekend and they were able to see her immediately. I brought her in and she was diagnosed and treated with antibiotics and creams, and I would say 75% better in only 2 days. I am always pleased with the care I receive there. Dr Kane is my usual vet but I have seen 3 or 4 other vets on last minute appointments and always have been pleased with their level of care. Always greeted with a warm welcome and knowledgeable staff all around.

Been here twice. First time was an emergency when my pet rat Sandy’s lung collapsed and she was dying. I was received instantly without any questions they took my rat and handled the whole situation better than I could have ever expected. They treated her the same way they would treat a dog or a cat which to me, is very important as a rat mom. Most vets won’t see rats. I went back a second time when my moms bird had an accident and caused neurological damage to his head. We were going to euthanize him but the vet was honest and told us to wait overnight as he was slowly progressing. Unfortunately he passed. The facility itself is HUGE! The atmosphere is awesome, and the staff is always very nice too. I have nothing bad to say about this place at all. I definitely recommend going here to anyone!! I hate that it’s almost an hour away from me but I still make the drive out there because I know my pets are going to be treated with respect, dignity and love.I would rate this place a 10/10! ❤️

I cannot say how grateful I am for all the staff at Conejo Valley. I have brought one of my rabbits here twice already, all the way from Pasadena. As a rabbit owner, Im always wary of veterinarians who say they have no experience with rabbits but will take a look anyways, bunnies tend to need specialized care. Both time were emergencies, which for rabbits can mean a matter of minutes until death. Both times my rabbit was well cared for, treated kindly and felt better in a matter of hours. They have vets on staff for exotic animals and even better, they have vets on hand who specialize in rabbits, and even more so certain conditions! The second time I was in, my rabbit had woken up with a severe eye problem. When I got to the vet without an appointment, although the wait was to be expected, I did get to see a vet who knew rabbits in just under 2 hours. Most impressively, the vet who took a look at my rabbit had experience with eye troubles and was able to give me an accurate diagnose which put me at ease! All said, after the emergency visit, medication and time spent, my cost only came out to about $200. Theyre office is very clean & welcoming, with plenty of space if youre someone like me with nervous small animals, you can put some distance between you and bigger animals. Additionally, staff where sure to check up on me and my pet while I was waiting, to make sure my rabbit wasnt experiencing any distress. Thank you Conejo Valley, I wouldnt trust anyone else with my pets!

I am so thankful for this place. my guinea pig was in a fight and had a huge wound. usually vets are a scary place and can be overwhelming. UPDATE 07/22: This place isnt cheap, but they take better care of babies than anywhere I have seen in the LA area. You get what you pay for, you want your babies to be treated good come here.Tonight we had to say our farewells to our little ball(our hamster) he lived 2.5 years and had an a amazing and full life, he taught us about love kindness and living your fullest life. We will miss him entirely.We want to give a special shout out and a lot of love to Cathy Goldberg who was compassionate and loving towards our little ball and helped us grieve. We brought our rescue dog max in for his first vet visit since we got him. Fortunately, he has been very healthy. He was due for a vaccination. Max worked with Stephanie and she was very compassionate and kind, and took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly. Below is my review from when I first brought my new rescue dog to CVVH, 8 years ago. She has been a patient there throughout the years. I brought her in today for the doctor to look at her again due to the lab tests that were done yesterday. All I can say is we continue to get amazing team work from everyone. The communication is wonderful! I know my best friend continues to be in the best hands!!8 years ago….I finally got my wish and was able to rescue my first dog. The night I brought her home she began coughing and wouldnt eat. I called CVVH the next morning and they gave me an appointment right away. Ive had to bring 2 different pets later at night twice now in the past few months and both times Ive been VERY satisfied here and to be honest Im pretty picky since I too work with animals professionally. They are fast, reliable, a lot of open communication. The vet is always patient and open to answering all of my questions without feeling rushed. You can tell how much they really care and enjoy the animals and baby them just as much as their owners, they even texted me the next day to check to see how my puppy was feeling to make sure she didnt need a second visit which impressed me since its rare any vets do this. They are a busy office, but Ive never felt it, as their team works so cohesively! Even in these CRAZY times of lots of adoptions, putting stress on Vet care. I had to go to the urgent care for my dog twice within 7 days just recently. I was new to CVVH and happily surprised on how friendly and kind everyone was. Granted I had to wait quite a while to be seen as there was a lot going on with more severe emergency cases than mine, and I was a walk in patient without an appointment. YET everyone was supportive, kept on updating me and helpful. I also liked the care of the nurses and doctors and options they gave me for treatments for my sick dog. While it is quite an expense to bring your pet to a vet, it seemed to me the rates were more fair than at other places I have been to. Again, the respect I received from them not to do all the treatments they suggested had me feel honored as a pet parent. I also appreciated their personal text the next day to check on my dog and his status, I felt taken care of. I like that I could text with staff and not need to make a phone call with a long time of waiting periods. My only hope and wish would be that they would also offer holistic vet care at CVVH to have alternatives to the regular western medicine. I will be back with them for my dogs regular check up in a month!

The staff at Conejo Valley Vet are fantastic. From the doctors to the assistants everyone has treated us with compassionate care. As a physician myself, I am amazed at the depth of knowledge of the Veterinarians. They have taught me a lot, and without a doubt they have given my German Shepherd a longer, more healthy life. Their doctors are knowledgable and they are conservative and not rushing to medicate or do surgery or take your money! I have never been disappointed with any of their doctors. Do not take your animal here, I cannot stress this enough! They are rude, have communication issues, overpriced and play on your emotions to up your bill. Unethical group, terrible experience, maybe spend less time trying to defend yourself online or trolling people who complain and more time caring for your clients and you wouldnt have such poor ratings. Plan to spend over $2,000 for a one day hospitalization with no surgeries, and have no actual diagnosis at the end of it. I was asking for the Dr. to speak to a close vet friend of mine (shes and exotic animal pathologist) about the situation so that she could better explain to me what was going on and I could better make informed decisions. They refused and said they did not have time, yet spent 20 minutes arguing with me about it stating reasons from they dont consult, to they dont talk to anyone but me. Why not, what were you afraid of? We actually pulled our pet from their care due to these issues and lack of trust. He came home with severe conjunctivitis in both eyes which was never even noted or communicated to me by their staff. He is doing well now, no thanks to them. I have since heard from several coworkers that they have had similar experiences here. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!!

We were stunned by the level of service and efficiency that this facility had to offer. My husband and I could not believe how great our first visit went.They have a well laid out, spacious waiting area. Exam rooms are extremely pet friendly and clean (gone are the days of the cold metal table). There is even a pet pharmacy just outside the exam rooms. All of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The ease of scheduling was a big plus as well. I will be moving all of our fur babies over to this facility asap!

One of our guinea pigs was very sick and the website states they see guinea pigs. I tried calling before we drove there and no one picked up. There was a message saying the voice mail box was not set up. Upon arrival, I was told they couldn’t see our guinea pig because “the exotic vet” wasn’t there today. They refused to even allow me to purchase some Oxbow critical care for herbivores, which is not medicine, just a type of food that is easier to feed and digest for sick animals. I am very upset at how we were treated, the fact that there is nothing at all on their website indicating that they may not actually be able to provide emergency care for exotics, and they evidently don’t even bother to have their phones set up correctly. If you engage with this place, proceed with an abundance of caution and expect the worst. I hope this encourages change in their practice, but at least I can warn others.

Our 5 months old puppy got bit by another dog, they told us theyre full and cant take anyone until 730 PM when the nigh doctor comes in and couldnt give us a wait time until they open, completely understandable considering the doctor has to attend to the more critical animals. We were told that his wounds werent severe and that its probably not a bad idea to go home and take him to his vet the next morning as the wait time could be upwards to 4 hrs.This is our first dog and first time dealing with this and decided that for our peace of mind wed wait it out since the dog was asleep from a long day of playing at the beach. The doctor decided and the entire staff decided to check him out anyway to see how critical it was and if he needs to spend the might anyway so they were kind enough of take him in and look. He ended having to stay the night in their care and we picked him up next dayThey explained everything to us and made sure we understood everything and set the expectations with pricing as well and stuck to it.The next morning our dog was in good spritits being his usual happy self and saying hello to the entire staff so I know they took care of him. We love this place!

So far, in the last four years. Every vet that is local to me has failed me. They take the easy way out and always suggest euthanasia for my pets when things get rough. Every vet except Conejo. No matter which one of my fur-babies got ill, they always were willing to see us and help us out. They are kind and understanding and are always there to answer our questions. And if in some twist of fate, we lost a fur baby, they were so kind in the aftercare and letting us know they are there for us. There is no other vet I trust more than Conejo. They are worth the two hour drive I take.

My situation was an emergency where my dog ingested a toxic substance. They were amazing helping in the immediate emergency. I wish I could say a single good thing about this place, however, its not an option. They might be professional and experienced with large animals, however our slightly sick Syrian hamster died after being treated in this place. The antibiotics they gave him did not treat his condition, on the contrary, he was gradually declining until the other emergency vet clinic said there was nothing else to do except to euthanize him. Just imagine how stressful that was on my kids, who naively trusted that doctors would save their pet. To add up, of course we were abundantly charged for the questionable services, after the ER doctor expressed that he was deeply concerned and recommended Digital radiography (twice as expensive as humans one), making me agree to any required services. And on top of all that, they sent me a text message the next day, stating that doctor was asking how our pet was doing, and asking me to get back to them. Then when I started trying to get hold of them EVERY DAY, with no success!! I could see our buddys condition worsened, and tried to get at least any advice from them! The receptionists tirelessly took my message with the promises that doctor would get back later in the day, and that particular doctor who saw our hamster, was literally NEVER there! And it took them FIVE (5) days for some other doctor to get back to us with some advice! Very genetic and not specific.Advice: for the sake of your exotic/ small animals, do not take them there! Seemed to be lacking expertise, but very much interested in charging high rates for a poor services and lack of customer service!Better go to ACCESS emergency clinic, at least those guys seem to be more humane ans show compassion, as my kids concluded.Terrible experience at Conejo Valley Vet

My dog would have died if I hadnt gone to another vet after their dismissive response to my request to have my dog tested for a microorganism he got from eating salmon. Thankfully, I found another vet that listened and saved his life. If you value your dog, avoid this vet.Edit: The response is partially correct. They saw my dog in 2017 when he was unable to eat or drink and was at one point bleeding from his nose. It was horrific. The vet we saw at Conejo Veterinary Hospital wouldnt even order the test for the type of rickettsial infection thats lethal in dogs, which is what it turned out he had.Another veterinary hospital thankfully was not dismissive and the infection was treated and reported to all the local vets. I got refunded for the dangerous, incompetent and inadequate treatment he received at Conejo Valley Veterinary Clinic.The reason for my update now is to offer an explanation and a caution to other pet owners to potentially save their animals. I had given one star at the time with no review.

Amazing staff! Everyone is very loving and caring of our pet Golden Retriever. One of the technicians, Shelby, took an immediate interest in our dog’s ailment and has been by his side every step of the way. She has even offered to visit him at home to reduce our pets stress. She has been coming to our house twice a week, changing his bandage and all the while taking pictures and reporting back to the doctor. The doctors, tech, and front reception staff are so professional and friendly. I feel like I’m at a human hospital, this place is so professional. I highly recommend this veterinary office.

Updated review 04/20/2021:Updating my review because since I originally wrote it, we actually switched my dogs primary vet to be this vet hospital. I like the vet techs and their pharmacy - theyre always organized. Every doctor Ive had here has been great.I started going here consistently in November 2020 because I needed a senior check up for my dog but we found out there was something wrong with her eye (crystalized ulcers) and so Ive been going back every 2-4 weeks since then. If you need to go for follow ups, stick with one doctor. My first three appointments were with three different doctors and theres not much they can do when theyre going off another doctors notes. Since December, Ive been seeing Dr. Yokum only for Lucys eye issues. Shes an eye specialist and making an appointment with her every time means she can accurately measure how its improving.Last Friday, I had to go as a walk in because Lucy had blood in her stool. I arrived at 11:20am, someone came out to my car to check her vitals and do an initial test at 12:20pm, and we got in to see a doctor at 1:30pm. I was actually surprised we got in that quickly (2 hour wait) because I was told it would be a 3 hour wait after 12:20pm. Definitely be prepared to wait if you go midday for urgent care, because unless you have an actual emergency you will have to wait for a walk in spot. I expected this though, so it was fine.We saw Dr. Kelly and shes another amazing doctor. She was so kind and patient as I talked through all of Lucys issues and did a urine test and blood test. She called me back today with the results and I so much better after talking to her. Lucy is an elderly dog so Im never sure whats normal vs dangerous.------Two days ago my big dog (30 pounds) jumped out of my parked car and landed on my little chihuahua, Lucy (6 pounds). Lucy began whining and crying and limping, and I immediately panicked. I was worried she broke something, because shes small and very old. I carried her inside and began icing her hips and her front paw that she was holding up, debating if I should bring her to the hospital.I decided against it, and simply let her rest that night, but I couldnt shake the feeling something was wrong. The next morning I woke up at 4am and couldnt sleep, and decided to go to the Conejo Valley Vet Hospital.Id been there once before after I found an injured bird and brought it there, but hadnt taken my dogs there. As soon as I got there, with Lucy wrapped in a blanket in my arms, I started crying because I was worried and overwhelmed. The woman at the front desk was so nice and gently took Lucy from me to lead her to the back for a physical exam. I saw Dr. Dennis (I believe), who was also so patient and kind. She explained what she thought was wrong and gave me honest advice - she didnt think x-rays were necessary because Lucy probably didnt have any broken bones (she was able to put weight on all four paws), but gave her a prescription for an anti-inflammatory medicine to make her more comfortable.I took Lucy home and felt a hundred times better. She rested all day, took her medicine, and this morning - shes so much better. Shes walking and running without a limp, but I still blocked off our stairs because I dont want her jumping around.So thankful we have a 24 hour vet nearby! I want to change them to be my dogs primary vets because I like knowing I can always go there if we have an after hours emergency.

Can not recommend this place enough. Previous vets Ive dealt with were cold, expensive and pushed unnecessary procedures and medications. The team here has been wonderful and super responsive. Prices are transparent and very fair IMO and I feel I can trust them to care for my dogs like I would! Dr. Messri in particular, is an absolute angel and is so good with my boys. Especially my shepherd mix, who is wary of strangers and stressed at the vet. I happily drive 30min to see him over his previous vet that is a 2 min drive.

By far the best vet experience Ive ever had with any of my pets. They were professional, kind, compassionate, and made not only my beloved fuzzer but myself (an anxiety ridden mess of a person) as comfortable as possible during our late night ER wait. I could tell from the moment a tech came out to bring my baby in that they knew what they were dealing with and how to deal with it --which, given a specialty exotic pet that most vets dont really have experience with, in a potential life threatening emergency, was extremely comforting to see. The wait was long, but only because my baby was stable enough to wait and some other peoples werent. Plus Iron Chef was marathoning in the waiting room, so I didnt see much reason to complain! The nighttime ER staff was wonderful, and they got my fuzzer perked up and on medication to help him in, at least as far as I am concerned, hardly any time at all. The doctor even gave a slight discount because my little squirmy terror of a baby wouldnt quit flopping around for his xrays; even with blood work and fecal tests and multiple injections and 2 prescriptions, the entire visit wound up actually costing a little under the low-end price estimate that I was initially given at the start of the visit. I was prepared for the cost to balloon way above what I was quoted, as usually happens with vet stuff, and was very pleasantly surprised. Its a long drive from where I am located, but I dont think I could possibly find a better place to bring my baby to stay healthy. Thank you guys so much for all of your help, I will be recommending you to anyone I know who is looking for a top notch vet or in need of emergency service for their babies that they know they can trust.

We are so grateful to Conejo Valley Veterinary Hosptial for being available on a Sunday night for surgery and for giving us such a fair price.The dog is in a long term foster and I am the animal rescue that financially supports him. The rescuer who saved Tank from the freeway years ago also contributes.The vet the foster previously took our dog to that night was going to charge approximately $6,000. $1,000 was just for the “on call” price because the process took us beyond 4:30pm. That’s more money that the entire surgery and aftercare took with Conejo Valley!! Our puppy unfortunately has been very curious the first year. We have taken him in multiple times for things ranging in swallowing Advil to being bit by another dog. Every time we take him in the staff is so friendly and they really make sure that I understand and am ok with everything that is happening. The cost is also very reasonable. Our puppy also now goes to daycare daily as well as boards overnight there which has also been a fantastic experience. Every morning he is so excited to get there and loves greeting all of the staff members with his wagging tail and kisses. I feel more at ease knowing that they treat him as one of their own and he gets just as much attention as he would if he was at home with me. My tortoise was hurt by a dog (my dog) & I was so upset I could hardly dial the phone. My vet recommended Conejo Valley as they are trained with exotic animals. My daughter & I had just come home with this tortoise from a rescue near Joshua Tree two days before. They treated her & kept her overnight & they called with updates. Dr. Yoakum is the absolute BEST! We have seen 2-3 different vets in the past for our German shepherd’s eye condition and they all had misdiagnosed him. When we first saw Dr. Yoakum, our German shepherd was losing his vision due this eye condition. She diagnosed him with pannus and gave him the correct medication. It’s been a few years now and our dog is doing so much better! He is able to see a lot better, he can see his ball again when he plays fetch, doesn’t trip anymore when he goes on walks, and his eyes look less irritated.She also never recommends unnecessary procedure, is so sweet, and so caring. I have visited both The Cat Hospital and Conejo Valley Vet since we moved to California. Conejo Valley is very thorough in the examination process and they are all so knowledgeable. They helped me understand the shots being given and when they are needed. For comparison, The Cat Hospital told me they were giving my cat a respiratory shot and Conejo Valley helped me understand their is no such named shot. It was the FVCRP shot for Feline HIV/Leukemia. Conejo Valley Hospital helped me understand what to loom for if my cat starts sneezing again which she did back in December 2019 but is fine now. Didn’t try to sell me any BS said to monitor her and call if she ever gets a runny nose.Additionally, they were reasonably priced, extremely clean, and timely. Won’t be going anywhere else anytime soon. Both my cats have a clean bill of health from Conejo Valley other vets have tried to always sell us something even when the cats were healthy.

My rescue German Shepard, Jessie is very special to me and at almost 14, she has some arthritic and digestive issues. We have been using this hospital for about a year, Jessies prior vet retired. We met Dr. Matzuka on this visit - succinctly, she was wonderful. She took the time to hear our concerns, offer several solutions and followed up the next day. We are trying pro-biotics and am hopeful it will help with the digestive issues - a solution no other vet had mentioned. I live in Santa Barbara and on Christmas Eve my bird was bitten by a dog. There was no one in Santa Barbara to help her so I drove down. I was so thankful for the staff for being there and ready to help.They quickly took Caribbean to the back and got me in a room. She had to stay overnight for a minor surgery. I was so upset, however, felt very confident leaving her there.I received a call from the doctor right when she said she would call. The news was good although I was prepared either way.They have a number you can text and the response every time was immediate. I received follow up calls from the doctor. They were very thorough and caring.I will also comment on the cleanliness, it looks like they just opened yesterday. While my experience is one in the midst of COVID-19, and therefore I did not go inside the building, see the office, or many of the employees, I was surprised at how well organized and smooth operating everything was with the curbside check-in and phone conversation style of appointment. I was even able to send the dr. a picture of something important about my dog. Even more, it was Easter and it was busy, but we were still in and out quickly and all of the suggestions and medications have done perfectly well for my fur baby. The hospital also followed up with me via text the next day and sent over all the information to my main veterinarian who also reached out and was able to add the information to his file. My dog needed to have a simple cyst removed from his leg. The worst experience ever!!!. I have been bringing my 3 dogs here for years. Today I brought my very sick dying dog to the vet to be turned away, because they didn’t have appointments. What is the point of 24 hour emergency medicine if they won’t see you. Instead I had to sit in the parking lot and wait until the night shift doctor arrived and possibly be seen. My dog died in the parking lot waiting. This is HORRIBLE customer service. I work in healthcare, and we never turn patients away regardless of being overbooked. Especially a sick one. My Dog suddenly became extremely ill. I rushed him to Conejo Valley Vet where he was diagnosed promptly and professionally by Dr. Young. He had a twisted stomach and he needed emergency surgery to save his life. The Conejo Valley staff was very kind, helpful and compassionate. I had a bunny emergency and even though I was not seen the first time I drove there, when I actually was seen the next day it was a pleasant experience, This was during covid so obviously we had to practice social distancing and there was a wait time in the car of about an hour. But I don’t blame the wait time on them, it’s just the longer wait times because of covid. They were all so courteous; from the person that answered my arrival call, to the nurse that greeted me at my car, to the lady that brought me the registration papers, to the nurse that walked me inside and walked me to the room, the doctor himself, the nurse that helped me with administrating the medicine; every single one of them! Didn’t feel rushed. The bunnies were handled well and were taken care of. The doctor listened to my situation and made me feel at ease. The facility itself was the best animal facility I have seen. We brought our dog to the hospital late in the evening because he was not acting normally. He was given a thorough examination including X-rays...etc. and a recommendation was made for emergency surgery. A member of the staff gave us the name, location and directions to a 24/7 hospital where the diagnosis was confirmed and following preparations to stabilize our dog, successful surgery was performed the following morning. The doctor was extremely knowledgeable and gave us what turned out to be a completely accurate diagnosis and reasons for an immediate surgery. She undoubtedly saved our dogs life.

My dog Molly-Brown has been a patient for almost 2 years now. Her first time there was an emergency visit due to an urinary tract infection (didnt even know dogs could get those). Dr. Kelly was who took care of Molly that day. She was so wonderful! Because of the care we received that day, I switched over to Conejo Valley Vet from our vet who Molly saw since she was less than a year old. Molly is epileptic so we are regular patients at the vet. Going there is worth the extra 15 min drive. Since then, Molly has seen Dr. Kelly and Dr. Cao (when Dr. Kelly was not available). Both are so professional and I have a peace of mind knowing they will take good care of my girl.I absolutely love the new facility. It is so modern and very well designed. I have yet to have Molly try the pet daycare. However, she has visited the Pet Resort for grooming. Michael did a fabulous job making my girl look her best. All of the doctors are extremely knowledgeable and compassionate and the techs/nurses are very gentle. I was able to get my bearded dragon seen by a doctor as soon as I got to the hospital late at night due to a dire emergency. I am thankful that they didnt impose a long wait time for this. Unfortunately, my bearded dragon didnt survive upon arrival. The doctor even offered to provide a free necropsy. Im truly grateful for that, because without an answer, I would be left with such intense guilt that leaves me constantly analyzing what I could have done better. I asked the staff multiple times if they were sure that they didnt want to charge me for it. Im honestly surprised that this place didnt choose to overcharge me for this, because such service could definitely get pricey at another location.The staffs at the hospital were kind, very resourceful and patiently answered all the questions that I had. I would 100% recommend this hospital to anyone whose pets are having an emergency and dont know where else to turn to for an immediate treatment.

I was recommended to them for their exotic animal veterinarian, by my local vet whom I see for my dogs. I took my 2 bearded dragons that I recently adopted/rescued for an initial check up and felt extremely welcome, and like the staff genuinely listened and cared about me and my cold blooded girls! 🦎🦎 We saw Dr. Anderson and she was just AMAZING! So friendly, so knowledgeable, and you can tell she just loves animals and really cares for them. Even if theyre scaley little dragons 🐲I will be back soon for a check up!! 😊

We had to take out dog into the pet hospital on a saturday night, and because we just moved, we had to find a nice hospital to take our pet to. From the minute we got into the pet hospital, it was the best experience. Nobody ever wants to take their pet to a hospital, but Conejo Valley was just amazing. They got us seen in no time! And they treated my dog well, gave us a breakdown of what they were doing, told us how much it would cost and if we were okay with it! 110% recommend to anyone with a pet, the staff was incredible, gave us a breakdown on everything and just treated us with so much respect. I will definitely be going back for the next emergency situation!

I have had incredibly positive experiences at CVVC. They treated my family with the greatest kindness when my sweet Ike passed away and helped me with his care in his last few months. Now, my younger dog went through a medical crisis and Dr. Whalen was unbelievable in his care of her and medical advice. I would recommend this hospital as an exceptional place to go when in an emergency as well as for your ordinary veterinary care.

I brought my rabbit here and it’s the best experience i’ve had! Everyone was so kind and comforting. I live about 30 minutes from this animal hospital but I would absolutely drive that fair for the great service and people. They gave me a phone number to reach them with any questions or concerns 24/7. They were also able to send me pictures of my rabbit which I thought was just awesome. Highly recommended.

Such a sad change. I am a long term client and now going to change. The doctors are wonderful IF you get into see them.We have been going to this vet for 5 years. They took great care of our dogs through eye surgery and torn CCL on my Saint Bernard. I have given them high praise at dog parks and to my friends. I have referred a few people to them.First of all, I book an appointment through Telehealth. I show up on the day of the appointment and they tell me I dont have an appointment. We finally determine that the issue was on their side. The person who booked the appointment didnt book it fully. As I am standing in the office, they say I can wait hours as a walk in or reschedule. It is a wellness visit so I reschedule. Things happen. Did they offer any compensation or discount (gas prices are $6.00 a gallon)? No. No big deal. I go on my way. The rescheduled visit was fine. Their usual friendly doctors.Today, I contact through Telehealth at 6:45 am. I know they are busy. I sent a picture of my dogs eye to see if it is an emergency. No answer for over an hour. I have always been told to just come on in and I can wait, so I drive down there. They tell me they cant see me. THEY TURN ME AWAY. Didnt offer advice on my dogs eye, just say they cant see me and offer a list of other places. Loyalty??? Nope. They said they recommend to call or contact through Telehealth first. I DID! NO ANSWER! And their reason? oh I am so sorry. We are so busy. Obviously too busy that they cant handle and dont really care.Their doctors are great! Sound medical advice and helpful. Their office staff are HORRIBLE and they are too big. Thanks for the help. I will find another place.

Our 7 month old French Bulldog has been seen here twice for urgent matters. We saw different doctors each time and both were very friendly, knowledgeable, and comforting. The price is a little steep compared to other veterinarians, however we feel it is worth the care we receive here. I recommend this place for regular and emergency visits.

My fancy rats have been treated extremely well at Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital. In an emergency visit, they made sure my rat was stabilized, and put them on oxygen free of charge while they took care of the client before us. My rats enjoyed the flavored medicine they were prescribed, and Ive never felt ripped off or overcharged for their services. 5/5

We are incredibly grateful for the compassionate and excellent care our Pomeranian received at Conejo Valley Veterinarian Hospital. Our dog became criticality anemic due to a gastrointestinal bleed while traveling in California. Their prompt care which included an immediate blood transfusion saved his life. During his three day stay the staff and Veterinarians were incredibly kind and informative. We are so fortunate to have found such an amazing group of professionals!

Our dog had been unwell for a few days and after numerous visits to other vets, we decided to take her here. We had a really pleasant experience at this hospital. The staff and doctors at Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital are really attentive and caring. I felt like they really cared about my pet’s well being over anything else. Instead of being pushed into getting a plethora of useless exams done, we were guided sincerely by Dr. Sara Neumann. She even did a few X-rays free of charge, and gave us a doctors’ discount on other exams.Our dog is doing well and we’re satisfied.
