Wonderful Columbian deli that I had never tried with almost a decade in the area. Had one of the family specials with corn soup (sopa de maíz) and mashed potatoes (puré de papas), rice (arroz) and a chicken leg (pollo guisado), all 👌Also tried the bandeja paisa which is a little bit of everything on one page: steak, chorizo, chicharrón, yucca, plantain, rice, all excellent

Really great service! Carlos took the time to explain what each dish was and what the drinks were. The food came out pretty quick considering we were a large group, and everything was hot and full of flavor! I had the lomo and tried a beef empanada. Will be coming back to try more!

Homey, authentic Colombian spot in Hawthorne. Came here on a Tuesday evening for dinner and got seated immediately. Indoor dining only. Credit cards accepted. They spoke in Spanish but there also pictures on the menu for non-Spanish speakers. The atmosphere felt as though you were invited into someone’s home to eat.We split a bandeja paisa which provided a little sampling of everything (blood sausage, asada, and chorizo) plus rice, beans, avocado, and plantains. The portion sizes are very generous and even with two people, we didn’t finish everything. It was nice to be able to enjoy a leisurely meal in a family-owned setting.

I came here looking for chocolate and ended up meeting an incredibly hospitable family running an authentic Colombian cafe. I sat down for brunch and was given samples first from Chef Carlos.It felt like visiting family. I can not recommend this place enough. The service was okay. They were nice but very quiet. Didn’t really greet us when we came in, and came to our table without menus. The food was okay too. The arepas we got were hard and not hot, and the cheese wasn’t melted, although they tasted good. The hot chocolate we ordered was nice and hot but watery, even though we asked for it with milk. The best part of the food was the huevos pericos and the empanadas. Overall, the amount of food we got for the price was very good and we left very full. But we’ve had better Colombian food. We did enjoy seeing Colombian grocery items that we hadn’t seen in a long time.

I came here looking for good food which it was good and It felt like visiting family, until, I Place an order and the lady said 30min I got there 30 more minutes passed by and the food wasnt ready. I asked the guy what happened and he got livid, furious, and was shouting at me and got in my face i felt scared, for me customer service is important, and if I’m treating a person with respect, I expect the same respect. When I got home to my food, there was hair in my food and it was super cold.

My sister went to this place today 10/3/2022 and she connected me and my daughter in love so we could see the menu and Food.Carlos the owner is so welcoming and a very happy person.Im African American and I love different nationalities of food, but I also want to feel welcomed in a place. Carlos greets you with a smile and words and Carlos even said hello to our video chat.My sister and I enjoyed the (she bought me some to try) Chicken Empanada, Steak Empanada, Arena Plana with Cheese and the Bueñuelos.Im going to try some more food on the menu soon and Im so glad they are on my delivery app.My granddaughter has a party later on in this month and its an Encanto Party (her favorite movie) and we are going to order from this restaurant, some food that was in the movie.Thank you Carlos and staff for your wonderful treatment and good food.Update 10/22/2022We had the Encanto Party for my granddaughter. Definitely the service has changed since last time. The empanadas take forever.. Something as simple as that takes 30 minutes to cook whereas at another restaurants it takes 15 minutes top. They really need to work on their service. 2 stars because they have different Colombian products that are hard to find.

It’s sad I couldn’t put no stars. First and foremost the customer service was atrocious. Lady was slow, left us waiting forever for some juice. We’re very rude, made us feel as if we were bothering them when we asked for a separate cup of ice since our drinks came hot with no drinks.. after waiting and eternity to get our food the was horrible, no flavor no knife to cut my chicken breast. This is by far the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Save your self the trip and don’t come here.

I forgot to take photos and I’ve been twice since Carlos (new owner) is there, the first time we went was in December 2021, my brother and I were craving some Colombian food, I gotta say EVERYTHING from the soup to the salad dressing (made on site and Carlos even shared his special recipe with me) was DELICIOUS, we went again last Tuesday and they had sopa de arroz which was great, I wish we had a Colombian delicatessen in San Diego county, keep up the good work Carlos!!

Bad customer service, seems like they never learn what Hospitality means. Today was my second time visiting this place. The first time was yesterday August 17th. I wanted to try their famous Arepas but the lady said: We are closing therefore, we cant make any Arepas. Then I said what about any signature plates. She responded with: we close an hour early to clean and to put everything away. So we dont have anything but Enpanadas. So I ordered 3 Enpanadas and told her Ill be back tomorrow to try a plate.Today August 18th I kept my word and decided to go early around 1pm to try any of their famous plates.She approached me and ask if I was ready to place an order. I said: yes... so I asked her for two orders of the Paisa plate that comes with Chicharrones, arroz, frijoles, etc...She said it was going to take an hour because the Chicharrones wasnt ready. So, I said forget that. Let me get Sancocho. She said: theres no sancocho today. I was beginning to get upset but still gave them the benefit of doubt. So then I said give me 3 Arepas. She said... we dont have those at the moment. 😡🤬 So, I asked her... what soup do you have since you dont have anything that Im asking for. She offered Sopa De Lentejas. I got two orders of the sopa and told her Ill be back in a few hours for the Paisa plate. I called at 5pm to place my order and no one answered. I drove to the location and it was close. 😡 Is this how Colombians do business?

I was finally able to go eat here... everything was delicious, the pork rinds very good. Im new to eating Colombian food but I really enjoyed it. Everything is very clean, Colombian music, the place is small but homely style, you can see the cooks preparing the food in a very Colombian atmosphere. Buy a bracelet and some rings. I loved that they sell souvenirs from Colombia at a good price. The service was very friendly and they explained to me that I could order something to eat. I already want to go back and try more food. I liked the place and would return for more.

I placed an order and when it arrived it was still not ready after 45 minutes, they made me wait 20 more minutes, when they gave me the order, I told them that I was missing the soda and the person serving told me, theres the refrigerator, go take it out. Not happy with that, when I told him that his service was terrible, he told me that if I didnt like it I shouldnt come back, and he went out into the street to challenge me to a fight. The worst experience, that is not the way to treat either clients or fellow countrymen, I do not recommend them at all.

I bought some beans in a bag and they were full of mold. Apart from the fact that the products are expensive, everything is of poor quality...the roast meat is green, very ugly and hard, the minced meat is refried in butter and tastes horrible, the filling of the arepas Its not fresh, my husband got sick from a virus for about 5 days...plus they dont have a ventilation system, one drowns while they fry an empanada...its bad, ugly and expensive!
