I went to the program when it was still in Berkeley. But it looks like the curriculum and instructor are the same. Shout out to Vinson!So heres what I liked, the curriculum is structured very well and you learn a lot of material very quickly. You will have a community of people around you to help you grow and learn.Heres what I didnt like, the material doesnt change often so expect to use older versions of all technologies. While this is by design and causes a lot of stability in the course, it leaves a bit of wanting for the technology enthusiast. The material is much easier to learn in pairs, i.e. pair programing, but if you get paired at different levels you could end up just teaching the other person instead of teaching each other.Last point, it seems like most people who come in are not, and do not want to be front end developers. Meaning that we lack in design skills, so the examples we leave with for our portfolios look terrible. I find this to be a huge flaw in the system. I think this course could benefit by having a portfolio for backend engineers, something like a series of IaC modules on github that people can click through, or hello-world sites that continuously fail-over and between regions and show this process.Overall I had an amazing time. I already had a background in tech but wanted to move into a DevOps position, but was severely lacking in the Dev part of DevOps. It took me a few months to make the switch, and I found out much later that a big contributing factor to me being hired was having the Coding Dojo black-belt on my Linkedin profile.

I really loved learning to code here. A great space. A great bootcamp. It was good for people starting at the beginning. I learned how to learn code here.
