Dr. Cohen is amazing! After seeing chiropractors for many years, what I thought was a problem with my back, Dr. Cohen accurately diagnosed as a problem in my neck! He began intensive treatment and within a week I felt increased range of motion and easing of nerve pain. As treatment continues, I am definitely moving more freely. The miracle is Dr. Cohen correctly diagnosed my problem and is treating for my long-term healing. Im now able to be more active and work without hurting myself. He is a real benefit to our community and I recommend him highly.

I have been going to chiropractors for over 35 years now, and am still amazed by how much I can benefit from their expertise. I recently went into the ER with such intense pain in my hip, that I thought my hip replacement had failed. I could not walk unaided. After being told that the replacement was intact, I was told to contact my orthopedic surgeon, who could not get me in for a couple weeks. So I called Dr. McCallister. Lisa made an appointment for me the next day. Dr. McCallister examined me, gave me a treatment plan, treated me, and I went home with about 60% of the pain gone. Amazing! After 3 treatments, the pain was completely gone. He also discovered issues of other nerve entrapment that I hadnt even realized needed attention. I will recommend Dr. McCallister to anyone who asks. Everyone in the office is friendly, professional and a delight to work with.

I really recommend Coast Soft Tissue, previously Cohen soft tissue. Dr. McCallister has helped me with a number of my issues when my normal chiropractor wasnt cutting it. I came in suffering from lingering low back pain that would kick in with too much walking or standing. With a few treatments & some home exercises my symptoms mostly went away and any reoccurrences were able to be treated periodically to keep me in good shape. Dr. has also been treating me for some neck & foot issues, respectively. He is knowledgeable and friendly without being unprofessional, in fact the whole staff is great there. I really appreciate that their goal is to get you to a good place physically as soon as possible and back off treatments until you are able to just maintain. This is no miracle cure, it requires time and effort on your part as well as a little pain, sometimes, but well worth it to get long term results. Im grateful to have been recommended here and have finally been able to make a dent in my issues, so much thanks.

I first visited Cohen Soft Tissue and Chiropractic over three years ago. I had been suffering from back pain for about fifteen years after sustaining a fall from a loft, and a minor car accident. During those years I assumed that the only remedy was anti-inflammatory drugs and pain medication. After an intensely painful week over three years ago, I decided to try seeing a chiropractor. I found Cohen Chiropractic online, who had great reviews. During my first visit, Dr. Cohen explained my condition in a way that was easy for someone not in the medical field to understand. Quickly we went to work addressing my condition and soon I learned what it was like to be pain-free for the first time in fifteen years.After going about three years without seeing Dr. Cohen. I had completed over a year of studies and found myself dealing with a different discomfort which I had developed from sitting incorrectly while studying and looking down at a book or device to read for hours at a time. I decided that it was time once again to enlist the help of Cohen Soft Tissue and Chiropractic as I trusted that Dr. Cohen would know exactly how to help.Upon returning to Dr. Cohens care I found that he is now at a new location which has a very relaxing feel. I also learned that he now has an amazing staff who are very professional and caring, as is he. Dr. Brandon Cohen is an excellent physician. He was recommended as someone who could help me with severe sciatic nerve pain. After a thorough consultation, Dr. Cohen recommended a program of treatment. I experienced significant relief after the first session. By the third session the progress was remarkable, I was free of pain, gaining flexibility and greater range of mobility. His pace is excellent, as his manipulation of soft tissue get deeper and deeper. He identifies areas that need treatment and targets them very effectively. His explanations of techniques and the purposes behind those techniques are clear. He always asks if the patient has any questions. I am incredibly impressed by his time management. There is no waiting in the office; he follows a busy schedule, without falling behind. I recommend Dr. Cohen highly. There is nothing negative to say about him, his results, his staff or his manner.

I have seen many doctors for my lower back pain in the past and I can say with confidence that Dr. Cohen is the best in California! He took the time and had the knowledge to explain my MRI first. Once he knew what all the problems were, we started a treatment plan consisting of adhesion treatment and a couple exercises. Ive had lots of manual treatment prior, but the difference with Dr. Cohen is in the results! Call his office if youre still searching for answers to unresolved problems!

Im a fairly fit, 54 year old woman who started having very painful, lower back problems two years ago, to the point where I was in pain constantly and normal activity was severely limited. I went to several doctors, including surgeons, who suggested pain management treatment. I was referred to Dr. Cohen from a co-worker. He viewed my MRIs and designed a treatment plan for soft tissue manipulation for my lower back and hips. There was no cracking or popping involved. Ive seen him off and on over the past couple months and have improved 85% or more!!! I recommend Dr. Cohen for anyone who is needing more than the normal snap, crackle and pop.

Dr McCallister at Cohen is a Rockstar! I searched for months trying to find a qualified adhesion chiropractor to help relieve the sciatica pain in right leg... which I have had for 2 years. After testing normal chiropractor visits, physical therapy, etc I felt a soft tissue specialist would help. Lisa was amazing and helped schedule my initial exam and future visits! Lisa was so helpful and cares so much about their patients! I had to travel on most of my visits and she made it so easy for me to work around my schedule. My first visit with Dr. McCallister brought immediate relief in my upper leg...applying adhesion therapy! After 3 visits I was a little sore, but I felt so much better. The treatment was very helpful and relieved most of my pain. Dr. McCallister then began to evaluate my symptoms again and he determined that I had more than adhesion issues and ordered an MRI. My insurance refused to approve the MRI so I paid for it myself. Thank God I did...it found the underlying issue...a slipped disc that was putting pressure on my spinal nerve on the right side. (Hence the leg pain!) So, I had adhesion issues and the slipped disc. No wonder the pain wouldnt subside.Dr McCallister reviewed the MRI with me and I consulted with 2 Spinal Surgeons who both recommend a spinal fusion to permanently relieve my leg pain. Im scheduled for surgery next month and looking forward to being pain free! I cant thank Dr. McCallister (and his staff) enough for really making a difference in my life! Amazing...I have a back injury that has caused severe pain for 12 years. Ive had procedures, surgery, acupuncture, Chiropractic care and so much more, all to no avail. Nothing helped for very long.Until I met Dr Cohen.....He has been amazing. After just two visits of his Hands-On approach I had relief for the first time in 12 years. While most other doctors push medications and surgeries and procedures.Dr. Cohens naturalistic approach actually works. I knew that he knew what he was doing when he went directly to my pain before I even pointed it out. I would highly recommend Dr. Cohen. Dr. Cohen has helped me get rid of my lower back pain and my constant neck pain. His manner of chiropractic care is very effective for improving mobility and lessening (or relieving in my case) the pain. Also, he and his office staff are very professional. If you have lower back pain, sciatica or any other injuries, I would 100%, without a doubt, recommend Dr. Cohen!! DO NOT QUESTION JUST GO! He helped get rid of excruciating sciatica and significant lower back pain I had for years!!! If you want an honest doctor looking to heal you without a catch, its Dr. Cohen!!!So before I came to Dr. Cohen, I had significant sciatica and lower back pain. If whoever reads this and has never had sciatica, congratulations! I hope you never do. Sciatica pain is a very painful sensation running from your lower back down your leg. The pain has been described as one of the worst pains you can experience. I myself, have a very high tolerance for pain and I would describe sciatica pain as excruciating! That being said, before Dr. Cohen, I sought out two different specialists. One was a sports medicine chiropractor and the other a fascia massage specialist. I only went to each one time because they never diagnosed what was causing my pain and their techniques only temporarily relieved my pain. What to do? One day researching how to deal with this, I eventually watched a guy on YouTube talking about the newest tissue treatment called MAR, Manual Adhesion Release. This peaked my curiosity and I did a search looking for someone in California that could offer this new technique. The only one I found close to LA was Dr. Cohen. I sat on the idea about even going to see him because he was in Atascadero and I was in LA which is a 3 hour drive! Due to my pain I eventually caved in and made the drive.So Dr. Cohen did one big thing the other two specialists didn’t even attempt to do; He diagnosed what was causing my pain. I had a disc injury( most likely caused by sitting in my car and twisting to the back to try to close the back passenger door) and had scar tissue and adhesion in my lower back from the wear and tear of being a 40 year old athlete. So from there, he set forth a treatment plan. So every week I would drive 3 hours from LA to Atascadero for treatment. All I can say is; AMAZING!!! My back hasn’t felt this good in years! I had pain relief on the first day I went!!I have to say that I really appreciate Dr. Cohen not only for his expertise but also for just being a awesome human being. From my experience, finding someone to actually really help you in LA without any gimmicks is almost impossible. What makes him so awesome? I first met Dr. Cohen when my doctor suggested I go see him. With my tendency towards rib separation I was often left with lingering pain for months. In the midst of healing from one such separation, I went to Dr. Cohen for help, and, I kid you not, it was like a miracle. After the first session of Active Release Therapy my pain was reduced by 85%. The following visit cleared up the rest of the pain. I couldnt believe I had suffered through so many rib separation episodes without knowing I could cut the pain of healing to zero in a fraction of the time.Years went by before I visited him again. I was dealing with chronic neck pain and nothing seemed to help up to that point. My treatment with him took awhile due to the nature of the injury but though I came in with my daily life affected at all levels by the pain, I left treatment with my life back and a full understanding of why I had pain in the first place.If you havent had Active Release Therapy before (chances are you havent) and you have a new or nagging injury, chronic tissue or skeletal pain, (Im sure there is more), I highly recommend treatment with Dr. Cohen. You will be amazed at the specificity of treatment and how well it works. I can’t say enough amazing things about Dr. Cohen and the staff at his office. He is extremely knowledgable, kind and patient.I went to see Dr. Cohen for severe hip pain from a labral tear. When I first went in, I was feeling lost and not sure what my future held with the pain I was in since I had already done other kinds of therapies. Let me just say that his method is a complete game changer! I have been working with him for a few months now and my pain has drastically decreased as to the point that some days I don’t have any pain at all! He even recognized the back pain I have had all my life without me even talking about it, explained how that can connect to my hip pain and worked on my back too. I feel really hopeful for the first time in a long time. I am now gaining strength and mobility in a new way!His staff is also very welcoming! Having recently moved to the Central Coast area from Southern California, I went to Dr. Cohen from the recommendation of my girlfriend who was very pleased with the progress she was making from his treatments for her painful and restrictive shoulder injury. I had been receiving traction decompression treatment for a severe pinched nerve condition in my neck from my longtime excellent chiropractor, but someone who was not a soft tissue specialist. Those treatments helped but did not seem to hold. I was losing strength in my hands and dexterity in my fingers from numbness to the point where I had great difficulty buttoning shirts & pants, tying my shoes, writing, or using my hands without pain. Sleep was difficult and upper body muscle stress and tightness was constant. I had never received soft tissue work from a specialist and I am gladly writing this five-star review because Dr. Cohen’s soft tissue treatments have been extraordinarily effective from the very first treatment. With that first treatment on my neck the pain ceased, the muscle tension relaxed and my range of motion increased. The treatment clearly held—no backsliding—and each subsequent treatment has had excellent results. His targeted work to remove the adhesions in the tissue is reversing the painful and restricting condition. Dr. Cohen is very professional, thorough, caring and has a warm sense of humor. You clearly don’t get to work on the highly paid athletes of a top professional sports franchise as Dr. Cohen did with the Pittsburgh Steelers without being very good and effective. I certainly have been very impressed – and grateful!

I came to see Dr. Cohen for my back. I was having spasms and tightness. I received much more out of my appointments than I expected. Not only is my back better, my hip joints move so free. Before I started with Dr. Cohen I didnt know that I had hip issues (tightness), after Dr. Cohen worked on my hips my joint movement was so smooth. Such an Amazing feeling.

I found Dr. Cohen on an instagram post of him working with his patients. I had been to other chiropractors who did the traditional crack of your back and neck and it didnt seemed to help aside of an slight instant relief. Dr. Cohen’s videos are very informative as he displays a different technique and approach to helping relieve pain. The first 4 weeks of treatment I visited him twice a week. Around the 3rd week I began to notice improvements in my previous movement, flexibility, and pain. He asks the right questions and really finds an understanding of where you may be experiencing pain and where it may be coming from. I highly recommend giving this type of treatment a try and practicing the exercises he recommends. ATTENTION !! Do not spend another hour or day in pain. I am writing this with my highest hopes that whoever is reading this and is suffering with body pain may have a better than good chance to have it reduced. I am a perfect example of a 78 year old relatively healthy woman except for suffering for several years with severe scoliosis. Unfortunately I was not treated for this until several years ago, but not successfully…….until I contacted Cohen Soft Tissue and Chiropractic in Atascadero, CA and was treated by Dr. Mike McAllister. I received an examination and a detailed explanation on 1/4/22. I immediately found this Doctor to be firm and gentle with his words and treatment, each time taking the time to explain what he was doing and why as well as how I might or might not feel as a result of each treatment. I was impressed with his tone as well as that of his staff and receptionist. So far the pain I was initially experiencing has lessened considerably as he has taken me through the treatments. I do not expect to be totally cured, but am looking forward to becoming even more comfortable and manageable with any discomfort. I hope anyone who has some body pain issues will give Dr. McAllister a chance to examine your situation and hopefully he will be able to offer you some comfort similar to the level he has given to me. Had a stiff neck from a skiing accident 2 years ago. Tries many different methods including conventional chiropractic, Massage, Active Release Technique etc. I went to Dr. Cohen thru a referral from a friend. I needed someone who was truly interested in helping me overcome and help heal any pain I was experiencing . THAT is what this doctor does...... My experience at Cohen Soft Tissue and Chiropractic has been nothing short of amazing.As a hairdresser of over 25 years I was experiencing pain in my calf...like the kind of pain where every step i took i thought about it. I had to put my membership at my Gym on hold, and then, because the rest wasnt helping to remedy the pain, i had to cancel my membership. Everyday at work i was preoccupied by the pain i was experiencing. i was feeling hopeless.A friend recommended her chiropractor.... i was a tad leery because the snap, crackle and pop of traditional chiropractors had left me fearful. I was also not crazy about being chained to a Dr. with no end in sight.I decided to go see Dr. Cohen . The office staff are so kind and helpful, amazing first friendly face to encounter. I also really appreciated that your first appointment with the Dr. was to get to know you and see if your pains are a match for his specialty. When you have your first exam, the Dr. comes up with a plan for you, including a timeline! From that point on, I have completely enjoyed and looked forward to my appointments, all the while knowing their goal is to get me feeling better, provide exercises to compliment my treatment and send me on my way, pain free!Im happy to report my calf pain, gone....gone after the second appointment! ALSO.... The Dr. asks at every appointment, Do you have any questions or concerns? I have suffered with numbness, weakness and pain in my arms for the past 20+ years since I was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome in my late twenties. I was unable to lift a grocery bag, I was so weak. I went to physical therapy for 3 months and swam for years, but my arms would always go numb on occasion. Over the next 10 years, my arms got worse and then my neck from lack of support from my weakness in my arms. I went to physical therapy again for 6 months and had temporary relief. After some more time, it got so bad that my arms would go numb all night long and it would take at least 15 or 20 minutes for them to normalize and not ache only to go numb again after I would fall back asleep. I finally was told by a friend that I should go see Dr. Cohen. She raved about how much he has helped her shoulder. After only 3 treatments, the numbness in my arms when I was sleeping was gone. He has since worked on my neck and a problem with my elbow with amazing results. In the year I have been going to see him, my arms have only gone numb 3 times while sleeping and it goes away immediately when I move positions in bed. My only regret is that I didn’t go see Dr. Cohen sooner.

I have seen many doctors for the past 4years for headaches, neck pain and shoulder pain with no answers as to why I feel the way I have felt. I came to see Dr McAllister exactly one month ago today and have never seen so much improvement in just one month. I have started to sleep through the night with no pain. I have been seeing Dr. Mike for a few months, probably more but who is counting. I started seeing him for lower back pain. When I came in it was the worst pain I’ve had. Could barely walk. Being 30 that is something you don’t think would be possible. He jumped right in with treatment and now I am at normal range of motion with little pain.Currently I am seeing him for some hip issues and after two visits my pain from activity is gone.Dr. Mike knows what he is doing and he is good at it. The process can sometimes take time and hurt but trust it. It’s amazing how mentally good you will feel when you are not in pain. I will forever go to him as long as he will take me. 🙃

Terrible receptionist service. Scheduling an appointment was strangely awkward. If a person does not ask the right questions it appears that they will be met with delayed silence and the word um. The reason individuals call a practice for a service is to be informed with information up front. Im not quite sure how people schedule appointments when the receptionist acts so odd on the other end of the phone call. The initial reason I thought to use this office was because of the online reviews. The receptionist stated the office is not really a chiropractic office but their main focus is soft tissue. After I mentioned that the name of the office has chiropractor in it, that is why I called so was I mislead? She stated well uh yea they are that too most certainly. So then what is it? Why make that statement? Then after I asked how do people normally schedule an appointment, she stated oh well they normally have a consult first to see if they are a right fit for the office. Just hearing that made the hair stand up on my neck. Sounds like the office is unfit for a client with their lack of professionalism. Point is, if a potential client calls to schedule an appointment, the receptionist should provide information about the services up front, not seem distracted on their end or confusing, and not seem like it was their first day answering a telephone call. Such a waste of my time.

Dr. Cohen is one of the best. Being a runner, I always have injuries pop up. Since Ive had treatment from Dr. Cohen those injuries are less frequent and I have felt the best I have in years on long runs. If you are tired of nagging injuries Dr. Cohen is your guy!

After going to Cohen Soft Tissue and Chiro I was able to touch my toes again and do things that i hadnt done in years. The results were amazing. I fee so lucky to have found this place. I was a professional dancer. Been seeing doctor Mike to help salvage mobility and lesson the pain of previous injuries. Thanks to continued treatment Ive been able to regain a lot of mobility and feeling less pain. Its been a painful process to work out the problems in my body but results are fantastic.
