So much fun! My wife and I did Dreamscape and it was challenging but fun and very different from other escape rooms we had done before. The host Serena (spelling?) was FANTASTIC, and made it fun by helping us plenty when we needed it. Even when we asked for hints and obviously needed help, she did a great job of guiding us to the answers instead of flat-out telling us what to do. Well definitely check out some of the other games the next time were in the area. Highly recommend you swing by if youre around!

The host was great! We had a few first timers in our group. Grandparents and children. She talked to us first about how much help she should offer. We asked for lots of help and she was great at letting us try and nudging us in the right direction so we wouldnt get too frustrated. It was a great experience!

Six of us went for my husbands birthday and we all had so much fun! Ive never done an escape room so I didnt know what to expect and the team there was amazing! They explained everything and were super helpful. We did the Villains Lair and it was a blast. Cant wait to go back and try another one. Highly recommend!

My first Escape Room experience and what a great time. We had a party of ten and we were all busy the entire time looking for clues and trying to solve riddles. Fortunately we were able to solve the mystery with only a little over a minute remaining. Treat yourself to an adventure at Clue Avenue Escape Rooms. By the way, the staff is Fantastic.

Super fun escape room. The room we did was open ended, meaning we could solve the clues in any order. I really enjoy this style of game compared to the linear style where each clue must be solved in succession. This style allows everyone to participate simultaneously. Great host who provided timely clues for us. Our family escaped with 14 seconds remaining! Just in time. We would definitely come back for the other rooms as well. Lots of fun!

Party of 9 and 7 of us inexperienced. Did Villians Lair, medium level and it was one of the funnest experiences Ive ever had to get closer with my friends. Because it was a lot of our first escape rooms, I was worried it might be too hard or even too easy. But we managed to escape just in time with 6 minutes remaining and it felt so accomplishing. Of course there were times we felt like we got stuck so wed ask for hints here and there. And once we figured out the hints, wed realize how obvious some of them were that we couldnt believe it passed over our heads so easily and laugh off about it. Just a bunch of idiots working together trying to not be idiots and overall would definitely come back to do it again. The employee there was amazing to be so patient with us and guide us through it all whenever we needed!

Our party of 8 had a great time! We did Dreamscape with ages from 9 to 44, and the person who led us through our experience did an outstanding job. The room was not scary or creepy, even though I was unsure from the preview video, and the party had a good time discussing the post-escape analysis. I would highly recommend!!

We had a great time! We did the Villians Lair Escape Room with 3 adults and 4 kids aged 7-12. It was very challenging, and we did need a couple of hints and a few extra minutes but were able to solve it. We will definitely be back to try the other rooms.Update: now we’ve also done the Dreamscape room. Also challenging, but also very clever and fun! We love this place and the staff is very friendly. Can’t wait to try another one!

Clue Ave. Escape Room is the place to go! My 10yr old and her friends had “the best night of their lives” w/ the help of Agent Dillon. He was a gracious host and took care of them, even when they were out of control! His patience and knowledge made it easy on me too. The whole experience was really fun! Our family had a great time with Annie’s Footsteps. The host made the experience better also with his customer service and commitment to his role in the game. My husband and I went with our daughter for her 11th birthday. We all love puzzle and virtual escape games, so I think that helped us figure out the clues without requesting hints. We made it out with about five minutes to spare. This was our first escape room, and we can’t wait to do more.

We so WANTED to love this! However, we were very let down and DISAPPOINTED.Now, I want to start off by saying that we are well-seasoned when it comes to escape rooms. This was not our first time. We did the Dreamscape room- we found out it had a 60% success rate upon arrival which seemed relatively high for a medium to difficult room.I will say our host was really cute and enthusiastic which we greatly appreciated. She put her heart and soul into the introduction! You go, girl!We had our intro, then we were transported into the room which we escaped in 29 minutes. There was only one room that we were in the entire time (*Note: most escape rooms are about 3 rooms). The puzzles/games were tricky in the beginning and we used maybe 1-2 hints total. The concept of this room and the story line is an 3.5/5 and has a lot of potential, the actual execution was about a 1.5/5.Overall, for the cost of $35 USD per player for our group of 6 people it seems rather expensive, and we do not think that it was worth it compared to other escape rooms we have been to in the past. We wanted more rooms, variety, and challenges. It sadly feels like we got robbed…

Pretty disappointed. This was our 10th escape room and have been to some excellent ones. Sydney our host put on a cheesy hat a read a script for our room Head Trip and was boring. Not at all getting us excited for the room. In other escapes rooms, the people are energetic, and not reading of scripts. They have it memorized. There was a room where we spent about 8-10 minutes trying to figure out to eventually be told it has nothing to do with our escape! The second room was pretty easy and the last puzzle was very easy. We completed the room ahead of time. Sydney took our group picture and we left. There was no comments like all the other escape rooms where they go “Great job! What’d you think?!” And have some feedback of things that we liked or didn’t like etc. She brought NO excitement, didn’t look professional or talk professional, nor encouragement to having fun at the beginning or end. No lockers to put any valuables like purse or a jacket, room decoration was 3/10. It just looked run down low quality and not good props at all compared to other rooms we’ve been to. Seriously, you would expect great game design for a 5 star room with cool interactive puzzles. Difficulty 5/10 but seriously, the previous room that had potential clues had nothing to do with how to solve which was a waste of time!! It was probably for a different puzzle not used anymore. Almost all puzzles were combination locks maybe 7 or 8. Charging $55/person was a rip off! How they get 5 star reviews is baffling to us. We’ve been to others rooms for $35-40 that looked so much better, had cool puzzles like mixing potions or shooting bats, moving things around etc and the quality of the design of the rooms are so much better than this place. Ultimately our group of 4 wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Maybe for $20 so you don’t expect much. No way this place should be $55.

I played Head Trip as a team building experience and it was SO fun!! We made it out with 26 minutes left. The aesthetic is so nice. All the puzzles are well done and flowed well. The game host/master Jeana was very nice and got into character before taking us into our room which made me feel really into the game. The vibe of the whole building is pretty cool too since it’s inside an art gallery.

This was our first time experiencing an escape room. We absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was awesome and the staff were great. The room was pretty challenging and it was great to think out of the box. We managed to escape with 11 minutes to spare. Our party looks forward to trying the other escape rooms they offer.

We took our Girl Scout troop to Clue Avenue and had such a great time! We completed the mission in the nick of time and these high school aged girls were not bored for an instant. Fun night! We had 10 of us searching for clues and working together in the Villians Lair. Luckily the employees had their eyes on us for help and guidance as we needed it. It wasnt scary at all. It was all about discovering clues and putting it together for opening boxes, locks and doors. I called a few times to check on picking the right room and timing as we wanted to go next door for Escogelato afterwards. I will go back to do another one this summer with another group.

Had our 11 year old daughters bday party here. We had a group of 10 and everyone had a blast. Lots of teamwork and all the kids loved it. They solved with just 1:30 to spare. They were good about helping only enough to point the kids in the right direction and made it a great time. Highly recommend if youre looking for a small group event. If you’re looking for a fun and family friendly escape room try the Villain’s Lair! From the moment we walked in our game master Connor was welcoming! He made it a fun experience for all of us by getting into character! Even when we needed a clue he was very helpful while not giving away too much information. The room itself was very nice and creative. I loved all the types of puzzles and locks to solve. It was definitely a great experience for a medium difficultly escape room! We had a blast! We saved San Diego from extinction with 6 minutes to spare!!! There were 5 of us in the room and it wasnt too crowded. The clues were well hidden and took teamwork to figure out how to put all of the clues together. That was my first escape room experience and I didnt think that I would be of much use solving the puzzles, but there were several times that I was the one to figure out the clue! I really felt like we all were able to contribute something. The room was cleverly decorated.

I’ve played so many excave rooms and manage to escape every time but when they put hard it is very hard. Usually we never used hint but we had to but it was a great time and had soo much fun and for the first time I felt otter defeat and honestly was surprised and super stunned but was also happy because it showed they put a lot of work into it. Clue Avenue Escape Room was AMAZING!!! There are 2 different options: Dr. Deforium or Dream. We did the Dr. Deforium one and finished in 1 hour and 36 seconds. We were a group of 6th graders and beat what most adults do. So much fun!! You can also ask the person in charge for discounts for some restaurants in the area. Good Luck!!

For my first time doing an escape room, it was the most fun and memorable night Ive had! I went with some people in my Youth group and we all had a blast! This was our second time to the Clue Avenue escape rooms. The first time we took our grandkids to see Annies Place. We had such a great time the kids loved it. This last time we went to villains lairs. We took the adults we had a blast. I promised them all will all go together at Christmas. Will draw names and book back to that. So that we can race to see which team wins and gets out before the other. This is such a fun family activity for adults and kids. The staff is incredible so nice and helpful. The location is great. And such a fun activity. We will be seeing them again at Christmas

We had a fantastic experience doing the Villain’s Lair escape room! The puzzles were very challenging which we liked. Bethany, our game master was especially fantastic. She really got into her role when explains our mission which made it way more fun! I also liked how we could fill out the waivers beforehand which made things go faster when we arrived (because at that point you are ready to just get started!). Although we didn’t have time to use the feature, I think it is really cool that you can get discounts at multiple restaurants in the area before or after your escape room.

I went with 3 other people and we were all 16. When we first got in there our game master, Emma, was very nice and the intro was informative and funny. We did the villains lair one and it was very fun figuring puzzles out. We did not finish in time but it was cool to see everything we missed after the time went out. It seemed some what difficult at the end once she told us things we missed but I feel like we could have completed it if we asked more hints, you get unlimited hints which I think is awesome. So I recommend using them a lot if you’re new to escape rooms like we were since this was our first time. It was a very fun experience though and we are planning on doing the second room soon!

This was our first escape room game and the Villains Lair escape room at Clue Avenue was a memorable, unique and fun experience for us. Such a fun way to spend an hour with your company! I bought a Groupon and reserved a game to celebrate my daughter’s 13th birthday. They had such a great time! Everything starting from the reservation by the phone till the end of the game (and even beyond since they provide a discount at number of restaurants nearby) went smooth and nice. My friends and I had so much fun at Clue Avenue. I did my very first escape room last week at Art Hatch (Annies Footsteps) and now Im totally hooked. We came back to do Villians Lair and Dreamscape, and they did not disappoint. Our game masters did an excellent job of giving us a great experience both times. I loved the costumes! This was our first experience with an escape room before. We wanted to try something new together. So lucky we found Club Avenue! Any second thoughts we may have had were quickly wiped away as soon as we met our host Emma. She was incredibly engaged, professional, and made the experience a lot of fun. My 17 year old son, his 15 year old brother and 4 friends in the same age ranges all did the Villians Lair to celebrate my sons 17th birthday. They were skeptical at first as none of them had even done an escape room before...but they all had a blast and they keep talking about it. My 15 year old wanted to tell me every little detail and how they finally solved it. My favorite part was how much they worked with me. The first time we scheduled, my son got sick the morning of the event. We were able to reschedule for 2 weeks later with no problem. The second date rolled around and 3 of our group were sick. Again, they let me reschedule the day of the event. Finally, the third time was the charm. I cant tell you how much I appreciate their willingness to work with us. This company is incredibly overrated because of how much they push you to leave them good reviews.After you finish the room, they ask you for a good review, they immediately email you to ask you for good reviews, and then they email you a few days later asking for good reviews again. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a warm and enthusiastic game master. The rules were explained clearly and then the FBI hat went on and the game started! I highly recommend this place. We had my daughters 12th bday here with 7 girls in the Villians Lair. Unfortunately they didnt escape but came close and had a blast doing it. Our host was really helpful and patient. The room was creative and interesting and the clues were fun. The room was good for both kids and adults. We will for sure be back.

Its a kid friendly place and a great idea for teen/pre-teen birthday parties. Our hostess that set everything up, was amazing; and helped give a kids only team, a great experience and a good time. She was also very polite with us waiting outside - we also had a lot of fun watching.

This was our second escape room. We’ve had Dillon as a host both times and will definitely request him for a third time! We’ve done Annie’s Footsteps and Villian’s Lair. Villian’s Lair has been our favorite so far! I would definitely recommend Club Avenue Escape Rooms and will be booking our third escape room soon.

We had a really fun time in Head Trip with Dylan as our host. The room was full of riddles and clues that were non-trivial to figure out. Dylan was hilarious, very in-character, and a great host overall. Wed totally do it again.

We had a team of 6 of us in the Villains Lair. We all had a great time and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an evening of fun. Staff member Serena, provided us with clear instructions before we started and offered some tips during the process to help us along. It was awesome!

We did villains lair and had a blast! I highly recommend checking this place out for an escape room. They dont give you hints unless you all agree to get one, and our game master Brittany was very accommodating and fun. Would do it again for sure!

Very enjoyable experience. I planned my proposal to my now fiancee at this escape room, and Nick was very accommodating as well as eager to help me plan and execute this proposal. The game itself, The Villains Lair, was quite fun. Cant wait to return and try out their other escape room.

In making my reservations, I started a chart with a rep online to make sure that it was something I could bring my kids to. Response was instant and very friendly. We booked a room for our family of four, kids aged 12 and 9, and everyone was able to participate. Our host was friendly, and very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Great time. Lots of fun, and helpful if you get stuck. The experience was more immersive than other escape rooms with little touches to make it more of a game than just a puzzle challenge. Very enjoyable and will go again to their other rooms soon I hope!

First time doing an escape room and we loved it. Took my son for his 10th bday along with my 5 year old daughter and husband. Didnt know what to expect but it was super fun and engaging. Gina was our help agent and she was upbeat and energetic! Because we were doing this with kids, she was super attentive to that and gave us plenty of hints and helpful tips so that the kids wouldnt get frustrated. This kept them and us going and time just flew! What a great way to work together and have fun! We willdefinitely recommend this place to friends and family! Look, it was my first escape room so my rating might by skewed by that. I drove down from LA to meet some friends here for a bday escape. We had a really fun time and got out in record time. My only complaint was that I think we received too many hints w/out really asking for any. We had 17 minutes to spare so I think we could have gotten out even if we wasted a lot of our time doing something we didnt really need to do. Still, I had a great time and would definitely try the new room they are building.

I was looking for an Escape Room for a Team Building event. I had looked at several near our headquarters in Carlsbad. We decided on Clue Avenue in Escondido after reading some very positive reviews on Yelp. We utilized both escape rooms and they did not disappoint. We were all novices and they guided us through each room and assisted when we got stuck. I would HIGHLY recommended them for any event!

I LOVEEEE this place. The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and entertaining. Even though my group didnt escape, we got super far and had the best time. I went with my family, total 4 people. We had a great time and are planning on doing another escape room with Clue Ave. Kendal was a great host. It was our first time and we picked Villians Lair. Kendal was cool and we had unlimited promts but we only used (i think) 5. He was able to help us each time without giving too much away. We made a good team and tried hard but ultimately... Pretty flipping fantastic! The puzzles in the two-room escape room were well thought out and there was nothing pointless or time wasting that ended up not being important. Only thing I would say (and why I gave it 4/5) is that the video was sometimes a bit unclear and hard to hear. But overall a great experience! Great staff (thanks Caris!) and when their new room opens up, I will definitely be there!

Really fun and new type of experience! Had no idea what to expect but had lots of fun trying to figure out what everything meant and how it all worked together. Also the girl who worked with us was really great and definitely enhanced the experience with her attitude! Great job and Ill be looking forward to doing another one. The staff were enthusiastic about the work that they do and did a great job in welcoming us.We had three people in our group that were new to the escape room experience and they all stated that they enjoyed their time here! My friends and I did the Villains Lair, where you have to break into an evil scientists lair and find the antidote to save the world.

I have done quite a few escape rooms in San Diego and Clue Avenue is by far the best. The game masters adapt effectively to the skill of the teams and the puzzles are unique and exceptionally creative. It is an awesome time - both of the rooms are excellent.

Not for beginners. My friends and I were looking for a cool new escape room to do, and we came across this dreamscape one, which looked interesting. The manager of Clue Avenue, Nick, talks to you through the website, and he told us that this escape room would be good for us even after we told him this was only our second room. However, this wasnt the case, and he only told us this to get us in the door. The room itself is well done, but you really have to know what youre doing to complete this one. On top of that, a lot of the tasks were more frustrating than fun, and if youre new to escape rooms like we are, I highly recommend looking for a different one elsewhere.

We did the Dreamscape room and were greeted by the GREATEST Grandmaster Oogway (Dylan). Were already planning our next visit and plan to book a time with him.
