Dr.Smith is a skilled, friendly and very experienced professional. Not only he provides the best service for his patients, he also follows up on his work and clears all the questions out of the way ahead of time, before you even think of asking them. I had several procedures done at his office and it was fast, friendly and reasonable priced, which is not an every day thing nowadays! Dr. Smith has an absolute star team, the dental hygienists are dedicated, attentive and very skilled. My husband is a reluctant dentist visitor, but he absolutely pleased with Dr. Smith and Co. I dont hear this much praise from him about any other medical services provider. Strangely enough Dr. Smith managed to make a dental event a pleasant experience, he is a wizard! I highly recommend Cliffside Family Dentistry.

I am so happy we found this place! The staff was extremely polite and Dr. Smith made me and my kids feel extremely comfortable. We had never been to this doctor and my daughter had a tooth ache right before we had a family trip planned. Dr. Smith and his staff fit us in the very same day and saved our trip! What a professional practice Dr. Justin Smith and his team have running here! Everyone from the front desk lady to Dr. Smith himself and his assistant were incredibly friendly, considerate, and hospitable! I brought my 80 year old mother in to get to teeth pulled and Dr. Smith and Katelyn handled her with such kindness and care! She hadn’t been to the dentist in years and to say the least, she was terrified. They comforted her, brought her blankets, and even changed my phone! HIGHLY recommended for anyone young to old! My prior dentist retired recently so I needed a new dentist. I got a circular in the mail about Cliffside Family Dentistry. I was very impressed with everyone in the office. They were super friendly!I’ve never had my blood pressure checked before getting my teeth cleaned. But they took my blood pressure (which was slightly elevated). When my teeth WERE cleaned the sound of the instrument that they use for cleaning is very annoying! So the hygienist gave me headphones that I put at the highest setting so that I wouldn’t have to hear that high pitched “eeeeeeee.” And I was able to watch TV which was nicely distracting.Their prices are so competitive. They’re much less expensive than my prior dentist. I’ll DEFINITELY go back and I feel blessed to have a new dentist whom I like and trust!

I’ve gone to them for cleanings which are great every time, but I recently had an older filling pop out and they were able to fit me in ASAP and the process to get it fixed was so easy and quick. Yesterday I discovered one more reason to love Encinitas - Cliffside Family Dentistry. The overall experience was excellent. The office was warm and welcoming. The equipment was state-of-the-art. The staff was very professional with a focus on patient care. Kirstie delivered one of the most thorough, comfortable cleanings that I’ve ever had - and gladly answered any questions. Dr. Smith was very personable and took the time to carefully exam my teeth and gums, and then provide his recommendations without pushing for anything unnecessary. I have been seeing Dr. Smith for about two years now and I can honestly say that he is the best dentist I have been to in Encinitas. He does great work and is honest about what needs to be done. His office staff is fantastic, friendly and helpful. the The office manager was extremely helpful with my insurance and really helped me out of a bind when I was seeing another dentist whom was not quiet as honest.

We took our daughter to Cliffside on 1/3/24. The entire office was very clean and the receptionist was nice and helpful. We were promptly seen at the time of our appt, which is rare in our past experience in dental offices. Our dental assistant, hygienist and Dr Smith were all knowledgeable and comforting to our daughter who has a bit of anxiety at the dentist. Overall great experience and highly recommended.

I really like that; there are no surprises. He is very gentle with giving novocaine, and has all the latest equipment. I am so glad I changed dentists from one I had seen for 30 years. First visit; Reached out to office in significant pain after having accidentally bitten my tongue days before. Swelling was causing me to reinjure and preventing healing despite salt water rinses.Staff kindly set up a same day consultation and I was able to be seen by Dr. Smith that very afternoon.Visit began with non-invasive photos of injury using tiny hand-held camara by nurseNext, Dr. Smith listening carefully as I explained situation asked if he could physically examine the wound.After review and he had already looked at photographs, he explained what he was seeing, offered simple options and a conservative approach to start, with additional steps to follow if first step did not work..First step was focused application of medicine to cauterize and apply pain reliever to specific area of injury.All tol this 5 minute remedy mercifully relieved what had been causing terrible pain for days.By that afternoon, the wound was much better and the next day was almost completely healed.Sooo grateful for the kind, conscientious and clearly expert care.Thank you Dr. Smith ;)

Nee to Cliffside Family Dentistry, this was my first visit. I was very pleased with the entire experience. From the first call, front office were very friendly and it was easy to schedule an appointment accordingly to my availability. I appreciated completing new patient paperwork prior to visit, as no one likes to fill out a million questions in the waiting room! LolI was lucky to be offered an earlier appointment so I took it, the email/text reminders are great for a person like me who forgets! I was greeted right away and waited maybe 5-10min, as I was early.Analee was my hygienist and was so sweet. She introduced herself, took my vitals, rated my teeth and took Xrays. She was so professional and I appreciated her explaining each step beforehand. Im very comfortable at the dentist but its nice to know what procedure is coming next. She checked in often, asking if I felt discomfort. She was gentle on my sensitive teeth and I would definitely recommend her for children or anyone who is skittish.Dr Smith came in last, asked basic dental and personal questions as well. Nice to see a Dr interested in patients hobbys and family. I felt very comfortable and appreciated him adding to what I already knew about my hard brushing. The assistant (I didnt get her name) helped me with bleach which I like to use after each cleaning. She was very informative and friendly!Coming from another office is scary, I have tried other dentists and felt the most comfortable here at Cliffside. First. I am a horrible dental patient. Second. My teeth/gums are overly sensitive due to past periodontal issues.My past dentist and his team helped me through a huge transformation in my oral health. Then when family matters caused him to retire Dr. Smith assumed the practice. Unfortunately, I am not the greatest or most diligent patient when my fears surface. I was nervous about beginning with someone new who would not know me or to be honest I should say - may not want to put up with me going forward (Iwas with my former dentist for over 10 years). I even tried other dentist that were providers within my network since this practice has never been within my network.Well, lets just say, I tried others and came back...immediately. I still am not a fan of dental work. However, with that said, I am a HUGE FAN of Dr. Smith and his entire staff. They are neither close, convenient or a preferred provider. I pay extra, drive further, and have changed my schedule so I may have and keep comfort knowing I am well cared for and treated respectfully (even when I act like a wimp). Even better, they are all just genuinely kindhearted people that I am grateful to have their care and concern looking out for me.Thank you Cliffside Family Dentistry - you always give me much to smile about.

In my case, it was the very beginnings of a tooth ache that I wanted checked out before it became worse. She told me what to expect during my appointment and went over insurance coverage with me. This office was great. I was visiting from out of town when my tooth broke and I was in a great deal of discomfort. I randomly chose this office. They were able to see me that day. Everyone from the office staff to the assistant to the dentist were amazingly kind and made me feel totally welcome and not like a stranger to their office. After helping me, they sent my X-rays and information to my home dentist and oral surgeon the very same day. My home dentist contacted me to schedule with them upon my return home. Visited Cliffside Dentistry office for the first time today. The staff was kind and welcoming. Really liked the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. She took the time to tell me what she was going to do before doing it. Very thorough. Since it was my first visit they needed to do a few extras but all part of good oral care. Met Dr Smith at the end for an exam. He found a cavity (bummer, but good) and I was able to schedule another visit soon to take care of it. We’re new to Encinitas and had several dentists flyers show up in our mailbox. I tried them since their office is conveniently located to work and home and freeway. But certainly feel like they could be my new dental home.

My cleanings are not painful and the dentist is incredibly knowledgeable on new techniques and treatments. Dr. Smith is a great dentist. Ive seen about 6 different dentists in my life for fillings and crowns, and he has been the the best by far. Hes caring, precise, efficient, and highly technical - documenting the procedures with scans and photos to help explain everything thats going on. Its a comforting experience for something normally as unpleasant as drilling teeth.

I changed dentists because I had lost trust in my prior provider and developed dentist anxiety in the last year (which I never experienced in the last 40 years), and the dental hygienist was very patient and helpful in dissipating that anxiety without sedatives (just taught me to breathe). This is an update to my initial review of CFD. My first impression was correct, these guys are nice people and know what theyre doing. I chipped an onlay and had to have it replaced with the crown. Needless to say everything went smoothly and painlessly. Again with the excellent explanations and photos. Dianna at the front desk was pleasant and accommodating, then Dana the hygienist started me off with xrays, then gave my teeth a gentle and thorough cleaning and polishing. I have been with this office since before Dr Godinez took over. He was a great transition from Dr. Mueller who retired. The office staff is so friendly and very helpful with suggestions on dental care. I had left the office briefly due to some miss communication on insurance from a former employee. I have been going to Dr. Godinez for 15+ years. The staff is friendly and always takes care to remind me of appointments, any medications I need to take before visits, and to provide annual summaries for tax purposes. Of all the dentists I have had throughout my life, Mario Godinez is the most remarkable in that I have never had any kind of discomfort through all the procedures, routine and more complicated like crowns and root canals. He is the best! He also is a serious mountain biker, another plus for me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Godinez for over 8 years. I had some sensitivity issues and pain on my lower teeth. I live in the San Fernando Valley and used my in network doctor. I hadn’t seen a doctor for 10 years and expected some issues, those issues tallied 11 cavities and $2,800 in dentistry work. I needed a second opinion, Dr. Godinez came highly recommended, it was a drive but I needed another opinion. I told him my issues and the other doctor’s recommendations. After a thorough check up and the usual x rays, he gave me my results, no cavities and recommended an over the counter sensitivity toothpaste, and a cleaning. I WAS SHOCKED.Since then he has repaired 2 broken fillings, straightened my teeth with Invisalign and it has been a real pleasure. Although I am grateful for the amazing work he has done, I am even more grateful for the work he has done on my daughter’s teeth. He has seen her since she was 5 and has done extensive work. His patience and his ability to communicate treatments before, during and after is amazing, best bed side manners I have ever received. You will not be disappointed.

This office has been great in dealing with my dental anxiety. It is incredibly clean and modern, and they go above and beyond to make me comfortable. Dr. Godinez is the one most of my doctors at Scripps refer to, and I think this is as much for his calm and cool demeanor as it is his high level of expertise. This is also a family business, and it really shows! Mrs. Godinez is a licensed Physician’s Assistant who brings additional expertise and professionalism to the office. They are actually a very beautiful family! I am an “anti-dentite” (Seinfeld reference) and I have extreme phobia of the dentist. This team is the only one who can get me into the chair!

Dr. Godinez and his team are AWEmazing, a practice that keeps me smiling - a real toothy smile at that! I, like many, have had difficulty being consistent with seeking dental care. Mixed emotions of fear of pain and fearing the shame of inconsistency... some of you know the look Im talking about :/ Dr. Godinez worked with me. He listened to my concerns, empathized and addressed my pain levels during various procedures (Im a periodontal patient), he helped devise a plan and schedule that I could manage, and has never once given me that look that caused me to leave other practices. Alex runs the office. She is extremely knowledgeable and resourceful with scheduling, providing quotes, and understanding insurance benefits so there not big unexpected surprises to literally pay for. Dr. Godinez and his team have been taking great caring of me for +/- 15 years now. My teeth and gums are healthier than theyve ever been. I couldnt give a high enough recommendation.
