I can’t recommend Dr. Nick and his staff enough. After a less than stellar experience at a different dentist with my then 16 month old, I brought my now almost 2 year old to see Dr. Nick. The entire experience is kid-centered, from the toys in the waiting room to the way the staff interacted with my daughter. They knew just how to make my daughter feel at ease and the whole appointment went smoothly. I’m actually looking forward to bringing her back in 6 months!

Our kids have gone to Dr. Nick for their regular checkups for years very happily (so kid friendly!), and recently we had to do a more major procedure, where our son went under general anesthesia and got an infected tooth pulled, an adjacent tooth got a baby root canal and crown, and a few other things. We were nervous but Dr. Nick and his team were so helpful and supportive and overall just fantastic. He answered all our questions, provided great reassurance, walked us through everything in advance, and checked up afterwards to make sure everything was ok. The procedure went very smoothly and our sons recovery has been totally uneventful and in line with the expectations Dr. Nick and team set. It was such a a positive experience for what could have been traumatic. We are so grateful to Dr. Nick and his team!

I love Dr. Nick and the staff! That are always patient, thoughtful and my kids always have such a great Experience!My kids are ages 11, 9, 4, 2yrs. I have been taking them here for more than 5yrs now! Dr. Nick is super knowledgeable and goes over their teeth status, treatment plan and next steps after every visit! My 4 year old is excited to go see Dr Nick which is such a testament to the great experience he and the team provide. They are kind, patient, and provide helpful information to parents too! I also appreciate that their staff submits all of the reimbursement paperwork to Delta Dental on my behalf. Couldn’t be happier!

Absolutely wonderful! We are so pleased with the level of care we receive at this practice. The staff is fantastic and its clear they know how to deal with kids and make them feel comfortable. Dr. Nick is the best—hes warm, friendly, funny, caring, and great with putting kids at ease. We tried 3 other pediatric dental practices in the area before we landed here and we are confident have finally found our permanent dentist. Dr. Nick was thorough in his exam and found a few serious issues that all three other dentists we saw in the prior 6-12 months totally missed. These were issues that would have led to much more serious problems down the road if not caught in time. We are so thankful we found him and just in time! Finally, weve never had a dentist call us at the end of the day to follow up / check in and see how things were going after a procedure until Dr. Nick. We were so impressed with this extra thoughtful touch that shows he truly cares about his patients. Thank you Dr. Nick!

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Everyone did everything to help put my three (!) kids and me at ease. April, office manager, even showed my kids a pic of Dr. Nick without his mask so they would know what he looked like. Very knowledgeable and informative crew for both adults and kids. We had an excellent experience at Dr Nicks office. The staff was nice and helpful. They explained every detail of the process, payment and insurance reimbursement. My 5 yo son had a cavity, his treatment was quick and the overall experience very professional. The office is a nice place for kids and parents to feel comfortable.Were happy we found this Dentist.

We love coming to Dr. Nick! My kids (8,4) get so excited to come to the dentist, and celebrate when I tell them we’re going. My little one would go every month if it was up to him. The staff is so friendly, and the space is so wonderful for kids. I really appreciate the care that we receive here, and have recommended many people to come here.We even had a traumatic tooth injury 2 years ago that required 2 teeth to be pulled late at night. Dr. Nick met us at the office and took care of us right away. My child still likes coming, even after this, which I think speaks volumes about how great with kids they are, and making them feel comfortable.

My 15 month old had a great experience here, his first dentist appointment ever. The staff was very helpful and Dr. Nick was very friendly and professional. He provided lots of great suggestions for good dental hygiene and set a solid foundation for the future. You can tell he is passionate about the profession and has thought of everything to make our experience a positive one. Love the tvs on the ceiling. Appreciated all the paperwork being done online and liked the appointment reminders sent as texts. The waiting area was nice and clean and my son had a fun playing with the train set. Looking forward to the next visit in 6 months.

My 4-year-old daughter is very anxious and fearful of the dentist, and her previous experiences at another office were pretty unpleasant and unwelcoming. So I decided to try Children’s Dentistry based on all the positive reviews. While her appointment was still a challenge and there were tears, it was still the most pleasant it could have been, and that is probably the biggest compliment I could give. Dr. Nick and his staff were kind, positive, and very patient, and I love the super kid-friendly environment and little extras they do to make a child feel welcome.

A lovely experience right when my daughter and I opened the door. There was a welcome sign with her name along with the other kids visiting that day. The waiting area has a fun activity table to keep her entertained until her appointment time. And Dr. Nick and his staff made her first dentist visit a memorable one. They are patient, careful and thorough. We look forward to the next appointment.

Dr. Nick Ching and his entire staff are friendly and professional. Visiting the dentist is usually an activity that you dread, but that is not the case here. The first time I visited Children’s Dentistry, I found the waiting room to be warm and cozy. The front desk check in process was easy and smooth. There were many toys to keep the kids entertained and plenty of magazines for the adults. During the appointment, they even provide TVs and headphones for entertainment during the teeth cleaning!Dr. Ching and his staff always took their time to explain what they plan to do and their recommendations for all things dental related. He is always patient and thorough with the dental checkups which made me feel at ease. He is the best dentist that I have ever met.

Dr. Nick was referred to me by Aunt for my daughter under an emergency basis. He and the staff have been so amazing with helping with the transition from her previous dental office to now. They were able to get her in right away and take care of her dental needs.The office manager Monica has helped me schedule many appointments as well as broken down in detail the treatment plans and fees. Everything has been very thorough and precise. She and April have been great to work with.My special needs son had his first appointment today and Dr. Nick was so amazing. He was able to be quick with his approach even while my son was crying. I am so thankful for this office and am so happy that we found Dr. Nick and his awesome staff!I highly recommend this practice.

We love coming here. Dr. Nick and his team are very friendly, professional, and try to make the visit for the kiddos as comfortable as possible. Both of my daughters had some pretty serious work done here at very young ages, which was terrifying for me, but Dr. Nick walked us through everything every step of the way, before and after the procedures, and always addressed our concerns, making us feel a lot more comfortable. Our insurance doesnt cover much through Childrens Dentistry, but we cant imagine taking our girls anywhere else. Highly recommend.

My kids feel comfortable seeing their dentist and staff here. Kids are usually uneasy with dental appointments but its easier to reassure them when they had pleasant dental visits and experience. Staff and Dr. Nick have been very helpful and accommodating. I like that theyre able to manage and calm kids when theyre fussy.

I totally wish dr. Nick was my dentist has a child. Well even my dentist now. It was an amazing experience for the children and the parents as well. I’ve been to the office today with our kids and they are so good at this office staff and location. Inside visitation and waiting areas the children have lots of things to play with and keep entertained during and before the visit. Extremely careful and successful with the children in for x-rays and cleaningThe staff was very patient and kids were very much at ease because of their attitude.Dr. Nick and the staff and environment are great for kids. It feel like your at chuck e cheese or a playground for children and he totally does not feel like a dentist visit. I don’t want to sound like he’s a miracle worker or anything but HE IS AMAZING! The whole experience —I’m used to fighting for my kiddo’s sensitivities. They embraced them, never making me feel like I was asking for too much, showing him every tool and how it feels, even changing the Disney movie playing (too scary) to something more factual. He was excited to ride the x-ray saddle. I was able to sit right next to him the whole time with plenty of space. We had missed out on the routine of dental visits during the pandemic and this was the perfect way to ease is both in. I felt confident in his expertise considering his training, so my child needs some more work done and I trust that the dentist isn’t trying to scam us with additional procedures. We used to go somewhere else, and they weren’t as straightforward about their covid protocols, using code words like “the flu” instead of COVID, and I love that Dr Nick is so strict and clear about their COVID protocols somewhere indoors where my child can’t wear a mask. Can’t wait to go back.

During each visit Dr. Nick has been knowledgeable, friendly, compassionate and patient. The space is colorful, clean, and always has the latest movies to keep kiddos entertained during their procedures. Childrens Dentistry does a great job keeping the kids calm and comfortable during routine check ups, cavity filling, and even bigger procedures. Several semi annual visits now and the best attention every single time. It’s like going to a rolls Royce dealership every time, the kids feel so special and the doctor and staff all help you feel a part of the service. Sr. Nick is amazing. Jennifer and Aiden were spectacular as usual with the kids.Even getting X-rays (which I personally hate) was is fun for the kids riding the saddle. Every kids gets incentives for doing well and coming back clean each time.The front desk staff is amazing with parents and billing and scheduling too. Especially working with insurance companies.Their focus is on hygiene and preservation not on extraction and extortion like others.So happy we’ve found them and recommended so many.

We have been going to Children’s Dentistry since my kids First had teeth! My kids are now 12 and 15 and they still love gong to Dr. Nick. He always spends the extra time checking in with them and also communicating with me so I feel I informed.My daughter has 4 teeth without enamel and he is both careful and cautious with her. I know, because of Dr. Nick, she feels both educated and empowered with how to deal with this life long issue.The whole Children’s Dentistry staff is also wonderful! This is the BEST dentist. Every time I take my children here I wish I could have Dr. Nick as my dentist. My oldest has been going to Dr. Nick since he was 2 ish and my youngest LOVES Dr. Nick. Both my kids eagerly look forward to seeing him every appointment because they give away prizes and little nick nacks. Both kids have great oral hygiene (considering their ages) because they strive to impress Dr. Nick. I cant imagine a better dentist for my kids. Ive heard people say Dr. Nick is a little more expensive but it is money WELL SPENT. Id rather pay more and know my kids are safe and happy and not getting unneeded dental work done. Ive had too many bad experiences with untrustworthy dentists. Dr. Nick is worth his weight in gold.

Our children had their very first visits to the dentist this afternoon and they could not stop talking about how much fun they had…AT THE DENTIST OFFICE!! First of all, the waiting room had a sign that personally welcomed them and a train table. Dr. Ching and his staff are exceptional! It’s too bad their cut-off age is 21, because I wish I could be a patient! They explained everything they were going to do and we learned about cavity-causing bacteria and how to prevent it. During the cleaning, my son watched the movie being played, while my daughter was more interested in holding the mirror to watch what the hygienist was doing! Not only did they leave with a goodie bag, they also got to put a token in the prize machine….I don’t know who left happier, the kids or my husband and I! I wish I had a dentist office like this when I was a kid!

The absolute best childrens dentist!! The dentist and techs were so helpful in explaining what they saw to me and even gave me a report card reviewing everything. Absolutely everyone we came in contact with was fantastic and so kind to my girls. My kids have some oral sensitivities and the dentist and everyone working were so patient and understanding. If you have a child who has sensitivities and a difficult time going to the dentist, I highly recommend this place! A+!

Always a great experience! My kids love coming to see Dr. Nick! Also, Dr. Nick came to his office at 9:30pm at night when my son had injured his tooth while getting out of the bath tub. He told me it would be best to take care of it right away. He came right over with his assistant and had even turned around with his family as they were headed on a round trip! I have taken my two kids, now 14 and 16, to Dr. Ed, and now Dr. Nick, since the oldest was a toddler. We have since moved to another town and we still drive over an hour round trip to see Dr. Nick. I cant say enough about how wonderful Dr. Nick and his staff are and what fantastic dental care my kids have received. Patient, kind, thorough, and well organized. What was always a truly frightening experience for me as a child is a pleasant, happy, comfortable one for my kids. Even when my son needed a partial root canal as a 2-year-old (yikes!!) he said that evening Remember the dentist, mommy? That was fun. (All he could remember before the amnesic nasal spray and sedative he was given was the train table in the waiting room). Then at 12 when my son needed a cavity filled he said there was no pain and it was not a big deal at all (and he tends to want a band aid even when he can see a cut that I cant even see). I would give 10 stars if I could!

Wonderful children’s dentist! The dental care is superb but what is equally important to me is that my kids LOVE coming here - movies play in waiting area & while they are being worked on. Video games keep siblings occupied. The entire office is decorated with a tropical theme. Nothing is scary or stuffy. All of the Staff members are professional & amazing, and Dr. Ching is wonderful - he’s smart, efficient and so friendly. There are always prizes for the kids at each visit! Prices are reasonable, they bill my insurance directly in order to keep my up-front out-of-pocket costs minimal ... And there’s even a fresh piece of fruit for all on the ride home. This place is full service! Highly recommend.

My son is special needs and has Pierre Robins syndrome (small chin and jaw). This resulted in overcrowding teeth. Dr. Ching never had a treatment plan for my son. Dr. Ching is not compassionate or caring when it comes to special needs patients. He told me today that he is not Dr. Matsuishi and (he took his patients after Dr Matuishi retired) and hes right and thats the problem. I strongly recommend if you have special needs children to find a caring and compassionate dentist. #heartless

My kids had teeth cleaning today and had a great experience. We felt very safe - strict protocols with temp check, hand sanitizer, and the only patients there. I love how the staff always talks to my kids telling them what they’re doing and why, and suggestions to improve their oral health.

My daughter just had her first filling. Due to extensive medical care during early infancy, she panics when she has a sense she cant breathe do to instruments in her mouth. Dr. Nick was patient and reassuring. He let her take a minute several times to collect herself. It all got done without trauma. True professionals!! If your kids dentist is rushing from patient to patient (likely to bang out every buck) then you are shortchanging your child.

Our regular dentist does not perform dental surgery for children and referred us to another dentist. Our daughter came to Dr. Nick after the receptionist at the referral dentist Told us to call Dr. Nick! It was our daughters first (and hopefully last) cavity and we were at our wits end with where to take her. We were so overwhelmed with worry about how she would do ... whether she needed general or local anesthesia, if she would be scared or calm, how much pin she would be in ... not to mention the cost and insurance aspect!Dr. Nick was fantastic and so was his staff! First, the office was so inviting. Its decorated with an awesome theme that really puts children (and nervous parents) at ease.Next, he really made our daughter feel welcomed. His staff even welcomed her little sister. They told her and us exactly what they were going to do and exactly how they were going to do it. They really explained everything well so that she understood it as a child but wasnt afraid.They sent us cute reminders and information via email so that we would be well-prepared for next visit with her tooth was actually being extracted. They even called and explained the insurance portion very clearly to us so that we were prepared for everything.When we arrive for the extraction visit, they were absolutely on time and ready for us. They made our daughter feel very comfortable with everything that they were going to do. They even let her wear a pair of fun sunglasses and watch Moana while they were doing the extraction. They took a mold of her teeth, did the local anesthesia and did the extraction in no time flat! They even let her pick a prize out of the prize box, gave us her sick tooth in a special box and gave her a gold dollar from the tooth fairy!We go back for them to put in spacers in a few weeks. Our daughter is very excited!

Childrens Dentistry is a wonderful dentist for children! My cousin referred me and now my daughter, niece and nephew all go there. My niece just aged out and she is so sad that she will have to find a new dentist. The staff is kind, they have a great waiting room, kids can watch movies while they are laying on the table, they get prizes at the end, etc.. I would highly recommend them for any child.

My children go to Dr. Chings practice and they like the many distractions he offers (video screens, games, etc). I like the way he and his staff treat us, making sure that we understand what they are doing and what the next steps should be. Plus Dr. Ching is well-suited to be a pediatric dentist because hes like a big kid, so full of enthusiasm and cheer for his patients. We really like this dental practice and just wish it was closer to us.

Childrens Dentistry has provided excellent care for my daughter, since her first ever dentists visit up to now when she is 13 years old. Dr. Ching was especially helpful in advising us on how to go forward with orthodontics. My daughter is about to finish wearing braces, and it has been very reassuring to be able to talk now and then with Dr. Ching about how things are going through the whole process. We highly recommend him!

Dr. Nick is the best! We live in Oakland but make the trek out to El Cerrito every 6 months just to see Dr. Nick! He is sooooo kind, friendly, fast as heck when it comes to actually getting the dental work done on the kids and so knowledgable. His entire staff is super helpful and full of resources. My daughter had a traumatic incident here. She was in so much pain getting her front tooth pulled. She said it was the worst pain she has ever been in.Im very surprised that this day and age she had to suffer like that. She is only 6.I gave one star because they are a kind dentist office, very clean, great decor for children. And I read somewhere ( maybe on website, his dentistry education is very impressive )But the lack of pain management was devastating for us. It seemed as if the pain management was not apparent...I just dont want anyone elses child or family to go through this.

My kids look forward excitedly to going to the dentist, need I say more? Dr. Ching and his team go the extra mile to make their office kid enjoyable and extra kid friendly. They take the fear out of dental equipment with great touches such as a western saddle to sit in while getting X-rays, open format office with brightly colored exam tables, tv monitors on the ceiling, great toys to play with and fish to look at in the waiting room, contests and dental flossers and toothbrushes to take home that my kids love. When my daughters had to get cavities filled, Dr. Ching discussed pain management options with me beforehand, and talked to them during the whole procedure, they were never scared or frightened. So often kids are scared about going to the dentist, so much is unknown and there is the fear of a potentially painful procedure. Dr. Ching and his staff clearly care for their patients and work very hard to ensure that children have a positive dental experience. Dr. Ching takes the time to discuss his reasoning and management with parents. His impressive resume and training become clear as he deftly fields management questions. He is committed to the local community, always involved in nearby schools and events, educating about dental hygiene and health. I couldnt be happier with our choice for a pediatric dentist. 5 stars for the friendly, kid centric office and staff, together with a highly trained and skilled dentist who is so patient, intelligent and genuinely nice.

Looking for a dentist for my 2yo was hard. Trying to find a place that would encourage my son to not only brush his teeth but floss. Im so happy to have found childrens dentistry and Dr. Ching. His office took the time to sit down and welcome us but also explain toddler dental Care and show us how to best brush and floss. Before seeing Dr. Ching my son would cry bloody murder at the top of his lungs when we brushed his teeth. With the techniques I learned from Dr. Ching my son no longer does that and will even floss. 😁 Thank you Childrens Dentistry! 🖐️ Another thing that I love about this dentistry is that I can see how dedicated Dr. Ching and his staff are to the community via donating for the holidays, volunteering at the ACFD, having fun contest/games for the kids, and bringing his staff out into gatherings and conferences.

My daughter Amaya has a terrible fall at school causing her two front teeth to be chipped and one completely jammed into her gum. I was so scared and didn’t know what to expect. Dr Chings office was able to get us in right away on a Friday afternoon. His staff was so friendly and kind to my daughter who was so scared as you can imagine.
