Jim did a great restoration on my Grandfathers 30-06. It had been through a lot of long term water damage and rusted out pretty badly. He tore it down cleaned it up cold blued and finished in less then 1 week. Thank you Jim for your awesome restoration and keeping it priced reasonable.

I have a vintage Smith & Wesson revolver that needed a thorough cleaning and inspection. Jim did a marvelous job. He was fast, friendly, affordable, honest, and skilled. A pleasure to work with. Highly recommended

Jim did incredible work on a new loose fitting stock, replaced a broken part, took time to clean the 20 + year old Browning BAR (That had been backed over by a jeep in the hills) and made it look brand new inside for a great price. Highly recommend!!!!

Everyone needs to have certain people in their life that take care of important things. I dry Cleaner, a Cobbler and definitely a Gunsmith. I had found the first two but for quite some time I hadnt found a Gunsmith I liked and I trusted until I met Jim, the owner of Chico Gunsmithing.He helped me take care of my collection and has done an amazing job on top of being great to communicate with. Not everyone who has the technical skills of a craftsman, which are needed with guns, especially older makes and models, also has good communication skills. But Jim does.I regularly got updates and even the occasional photo of my gun disassembled on his bench. I thought it was really cool.If you are looking for Gunsmith you can trust in the Chico area then Chico Gunsmithing is your place. Hell take great care of you and your guns.And tell him Michael says Hi.

Very knowledgeable and a great attitude. Made it very easy and safe. Work and craftsmanship was excellent. Already referred him to all of my friends. Its so nice to finally have a gunsmith I can trust!

Jim did a great job assisting me with the fitting of stocks for a couple of my guns. His work was great, performed within the timeline he provided with communication throughout the entire process including photos. I would definately use his services again!

Jim was great - thorough, obvious expertise, and affordable. The extractor was broken on my great-grandfathers 100-year-old pistol. The internet claimed it would be near impossible to fix. Jim knew an outfit that kept hard-to-find parts for older guns, got a new extractor, fixed it, cleaned it, and a reasonable sum later it works like a charm. Good gunsmithing around here is hard to find - but not anymore if you live anywhere near Chico.

Jim is a great professional to work with. I provided him a 1917 MKIII Lee Enfield for cleaning and maintenance, and he took great care of this historical rifle for me. An easy recommendation for anyone looking for a local gunsmith!
