I have been going to Chico Car Care for around 6 months and they have always done great service on my car. I commute a lot for work so it’s important to me to have a reliable place for service. I have never had any issues with their service, and the service reports are detailed and easy to read. Also, once I bought my car for just a brake fluid change and they ended up putting air in one of my tires because it was low. A thoughtful gesture on their end and a nice surprise because I knew it was low but I did not request them to fill it!

I’ve only been a customer for 6 months now, but was sold on day one! Recently, I brought my 2015 Camry XLE Hybrid in because of issues with my passenger side windows: they were slow to go up or, not at all, until after waiting a few minutes. This had been going on while my car was still under warranty, but was told by the service department they couldn’t have their guys take a look until my windows went to complete failure. Several years later I bring my Camry to Chico Car Care. They diagnose and solve the problem within a few hours. Couldn’t be more pleased.

We have been using Chico Car Care for about 8 years.We live in Paradise and are happy to drive down to Chico to have our vehicles serviced at Chico Car Care.We own a 2003 Toyota 4runner and a 2017 Toyota Prius Prime plug in.They are quite good and we rely on them for everything from oil changes to helping with repairing and keeping our 210,000 mile V-8 4Runner running like new!We personally recommend this business.

Very quick turnaround time on a clutch replacement.Fair pricing as well. Unfortunately due to a miscommunication by the shop, some optional work was done before it was approved by me, but they only had me pay for parts and not labor. It was work I would have wanted done anyway, but for someone who didnt want to get them done, Im sure they would have worked something out. In any case, they communicated very well and were very transparent.

I’ve been looking for a good independent shop to avoid going to the dreaded Honda dealer for repairs. The dealer’s prices are just too high. Chico Care Care was the answer. Not only were their prices fair, but they gave me a CarMax list of all the repairs I’ve had done over the years. On top of which, I was given shuttle service. I would definitely recommend them to anyone for their Honda or Toyota.

I’m very happy I chose this place because they were experienced with Toyotas! They didn’t overcharge me and made everything easy, including calling and paying for the Uber. Dan and Dave are great — on multiple occasions, they might have told us the problem was much larger than it in fact was. A rock stuck in a brake caliper, a bolt missing from the master cylinder. Honest folks are hard to find!

Chico Car Care is my new top mechanic for my Toyota Prius. The first time I stopped by, on a friends recommendation, was to have them help me with tire issues, and the owner quickly assessed that I had worn one of them down to the wires. He said he could fix it, but also said it was just as easy to take to my favorite tire shop if I preferred. I had bought the tires at Les Schwab so thats what my cheapest alternative was. But the fact that they were willing to pass up business to get me assistance sooner than later impressed me that I could probably trust them with my next repair needs. Recently I had some minor repairs which included a headlamp out and a maintenance light on, and it had been 6,000 miles since my last tune-up. Dan assisted me and they were not only very polite and professional to communicate with, but they were prompt with my service (next day), paid for my Uber ride back to my house, and sent me a text with the recommended repairs which included photos of my parts needing repair as well as videos to help me understand the parts use in my car. My overall experience was awesome! I highly recommend them as honest and professional mechanics in Chico. Thanks Chico Car Care!

I was referred to Dan at Chico Car Care by somebody I trust in the auto sales industry. I had a car I bought used have a check engine light issue that had some worrisome symptoms associated with it. The intake person was very thorough in taking notes on what was going on with the vehicle. Dan took his time diagnosing the issue using many methods (including test drives) to pinpoint the issue. He repaired it all for what I consider a fair price. He test drove it several times after the repair to ensure it wouldn’t repeat the issue. He even sent a checkup text a day or two after I picked it up yo make sure it was still performing. I would rate the experience a 10/10. I will be bringing all my vehicles here from now on.

Took my car here to get my radio checked out and fixed.. They had my car from 830am to 5pm and informed me they couldnt figure it out. The man I spoke with suggested the fault could be due to the factory internal amp... Theres no factory internal amp for my specific hybrid car. So, the mechanic really showed me they have no idea what they are doing. I know more about the vehicle than the mechanic working there. Pretty lame if you ask me. I will say however the man at the front desk was friendly and the shop did provide free uber rides back home and back to the shop. Overall, I wont be returning to this mechanic and would not recommend them to preform services.

My 2000 Lexus RX300 had the check engine light on for a long time. Dan was able to fix it, change my spark plugs, fix my sunroof leak due to drains being clogged, changed my cabin air filter and did a full inspection. He did all of this within 24 hours of dropping the car off.I had originally gone to him in 2011 to fix the same car and he was awesome! It was Easter weekend and I was trying to get home. He went the extra mile to find me a reasonable and affordable part. Once again Dan and David at Chico Car Care solved my problem in a timely fashion. I arrived in a cloud of steam and they replaced my radiator, thermostat and hoses. Very happy with Chico Car Care. This was the 2nd visit for my Lexus. First visit last year when they replaced my transmission and a few other items.This time they replaced my water pump. I was able to schedule a weekend pick up of my vehicle on a Sunday which was the only day that I could get to Chico as I live 140 miles away (round trip). I had a diagnostic done on my hybrid Toyota Prius that had warning lights on and the report was thorough and looked at the codes and identified the problems. It included all of the cars systems and I was very impressedI had taken it to Toyota and they gave me a one page bill that was $350. and the only thing it said was that I had a bad hybrid battery.Chico car Care charged $110. less and checked everything on the vehicle.Toyota should send their diagnostic team to Chico Car Care for training!!!!

Recommended by a trusted friend who also drives a Tacoma, I decided to book my first oil change & service with Chico Car Care. They were able to get me an appointment within a very reasonable timeframe (~1 week). They provided excellent service, diligent workmanship, and a very well detailed diagnosis of my truck’s health. Can you say a truck’s “health?” Sounds weird, right? Regardless, I was provided a print ou along with photos that are accessible online, of each recommended line item to service, organized by priority (low/med/high). I really appreciate the quality of service and the level of detail they provide. I know my truck is safe when I bring her to Chico Car Care. Support local businesses!

Cant recommend this place enough. They not only fixed my car which needed a new alternator, belt and water pump, they found ither issues that needed to be addressed as well. I just returned from a road trip after having my 2015 CR-V serviced by Chico Car Care. As expected all went well. They serviced my car for several years, are very thorough, and have competitive pricing. In the last two years I’ve made 2,000 mile round trips to Arizona every other month and have always felt confident that my vehicle would perform well. The gently-used Lexus RX350 that I had purchased three weeks earlier suddenly was dead to the world due to an electrical problem. I had it towed to Chico Car Care where are they performed a complete auto assessment, finding the problem to be a dead alternator. Chico Car Care has been the best automotive experience Ive ever had! I think this is the first mechanic in Chico who hadnt taken advantage me for not knowing anything about cars. I went in with my check engine light on and they did a full diagnosis for my 02 Lexus es300. All it needed were hoses replaced and its working great! I also had to have 5 bulbs replaced in my car and now my tail lights look brand new. They even replaced the cracked plastic on my key for free! After the repairs, they told me that everything on my car looks great and I shouldnt have any major problems anytime soon. I asked them if I would be able to get my car back the same day and they provided that for me, even though that meant Dan had to stay after closing! They were honest with me and I greatly appreciated that. I highly recommend Chico Car Care.

They were extremely thorough and when they found an issue. instead of just quoting me a price to fix it, let me know that the car was still under warranty with Lexus where I was able to have the leak fixed for free. Every repair I’ve had done at Chico Car Care has been successful. The most recent one was a big job, and they handled it beautifully. I haven’t had any problems in all my time with them. My mother has also had them do big repair jobs on her vehicle and she has never had any problems either. These guys are excellent at what they do. If you use them to fix your car you are guaranteeing yourself that you won’t have to go spend more money elsewhere afterwards because they do the job right the first time! The customer service is also fantastic. Rex was so patient with me calling him numerous times with a ton of questions. I am really pleased with Chico Car Care and will not take my vehicle anywhere else for repairs. They’re the only ones I trust with my car.

I appreciate the work that was done for my truck. The customer service was amazing. They did a full inspection of my vehicle to make sure there were no further problems. I received help with my insurance claim, since it was all new to me. They took good care of me and I feel that I can trust them. Needed to replace the clutch on my Toyota Tacoma. Not much to say, really, other than Dan and his team were professional and did an excellent job. After inspection I decided to get more work on rear brakes and parking brake and transmission fluid, etc. Dan gave reasonable rates and now my truck drives like new. I had one of the best auto repair experiences thanks to Dan, owner of Chico Car Care. Our Toyota Prius V would not engage into drive and my OBDII scanner displayed codes that went beyond my ability to properly diagnose and repair the vehicle. I found Chico Car Care through my short list of local ASE recognized repair specialists. What impressed me most was the swift response to requesting a repair appointment and the courtesy services they offered, e.g. free Lyft service to a car rental agency. Dan also offered me an excellent referral to Jims Towing. Upon Chico Car Care diagnosis inspection, they were able to identify the source of the vehicles malfunction and able to correct and restore its ability to go back into drive. Also, I really appreciated the very detailed, tiered level of repair priority they generated for the vehicle. My wife and I are overjoyed to have the vehicle back on the road. Great service I have never used an auto repair shop, I have always done my own services. Your service writer Rex was very straight forward. So I went along with what he said needed to be done. He told me it would cost me because where the fuel injector was located, so I told him why he was in there to please change the spark plugs and wires. I first took my 08 Prius to Chico Car Care about a year ago to get a check engine light looked at. We had it scanned at Autozone and after looking up the code it appeared the coolant pump was toast and needed to be repaired. We had the car towed in to Chico and Dan and the crew diagnosed the car as having a “bad computer” and it would be over $1k to replace. I told Jonathan that we ran the code and it definitely was something to do with the inverted coolant pump, but he assured me they had a high tech scanner that picked up on things other scanners did not.$1k later and we got our car back. All was good until 70 miles down the road, we were hit with the SAME exact code. We had the car towed back into Chico to be dropped off at the shop and canceled our road trip plans. Sure enough what was the repair? The inverted coolant pump. Dan agreed to have us just pay for the part and he’d eat the labor cost. That is the only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1.I recently gave them a try with some regular maintenance (brake fluid change, oil change, transaxle service, filter changes) and sure enough on our next trip the tire pressure sensor goes off on the dash. I swung by the shop and Dan told me that there is no way they damaged the sensor (which I find a bit hard to believe given the sensors are very new). I also asked Dan for the inspection paperwork along with repair schedule and never received it, leading me to believe it was probably never done.These guys seem great and I’m sure that they used to be decent - but their quality of work has gone downhill and when you are spending so much money, I’d expect the service to be much better.Update on 12/14/21 - Dan reached out to me and sent over the inspection paperwork as well as help with resolving the sensor issue.

My Hyundai Sonata was acting up sporadically. Took it in to try and see what was wrong. They spent two days trying to determine what was causing the issues I was having. They were able to replicate the issue but they werent able to figure it out what the cause was. They were up front with me about being stumped and didnt want me to spend a bunch of money having them try and fix an issue they werent sure how to. They let me take it home without charging for the work theyd done trying to troubleshoot my issue.Would definitely recommend bringing your car here. So the repair we had on our corolla was extensive because the spark plugs blew. We needed a new wire harness, re-threading of heads, spark plugs, new coils, and battery cables due to corrosion. Even though the repair took longer than anticipated, the guys didnt change the price of the job.But the crazy thing is that they did eventually change the price. THEY LOWERED IT by $27 bucks and we didnt even ask. Then when they found out that they forgot to re-attach the cover for the coils and spark plugs, they immediately came out and found the right nuts and screws to take care of it. No extra cost.I was a little scared because immediately after the repair, we were going to drive 300 miles. No problems. Made it safe in the rainstorm. Enough said already.

Dude. This place exemplifies what good service is all about. Had an issue with a belt squeaking on my wife’s car. They replaced it in a day and sent an u er to take me home and pick me up while they worked on it.Couple weeks later the sound came back. I called them and the next day they squeezed me in and resolved the issue. It’s been a month since that appointment and no sound has returned.100% going back here.

They are honest guys. I went in with my Lexus and they did all they could to help me figure out what was wrong with my cars suspension. They told me about all my options when it came to fixing it. They also help diagnose a problem for my friend in the parking lot while i picked my car up. I am Definitely going back to service my car at this shop in the future

I took my car there for oil leak, they charged me almost $800 for replacing oil panel and valve cover, a couple days later still leaking,took it back to the shop and they charged me another almost $800 for new timing belt, camshaft oil seal,and drive belt, and couple days later still leaking omg Im not going back to this auto shop.

06 tundra DC 4X4, had done the drums and came up with a spongy pedal, the guys diagnosed old brake fluid so they changed brake fluid, bled the system(purchased truck from KAREEM AUTO SALES IN SAC, CA). Guys also reset parking brake (which wouldnt adjust due to fluid having too much moisture in it because of its age). I Have other vehicle which Ill be sending their way soon for A.C. WORK (REBUILDING SYSTEM). REVIEWS SHOWED PROFESSIONAL WORK AND FRIENDLY SERVICE AND THATS WHAT I RECEIVED, ALONG WITH A FRIENDLY UPDATE PHONE CALL ASKING ABOUT THE VEHICLE AND HOW ITS RUNNING. They had my car for 4 months couldnt figure it out wanted to charge me for 4 spark plugs ..320 bucks crazy after I told him I just changed them then left my back seat unhooked and fuel pump cover exposed these guys dont know what to do unless a computer tells em the days of a real mechanic are gone...enjoy

I asked them to check for a squeaking sound when the car was on. It didnt squeak once I took the car in. So they looked around. And returned the car, not finding anything wrong, but charged me $139. Expensive for nothing being fixed

I bring my Tundra and Lexus here and they always do a great job.Their parking lot is always packed and I complain about the high price of replacement parts but other than that this is the place to go.
