Had one of the best rib eyes at a restaurant. Chases has to be a gem in the city of La Verne. Our first time here and all the recommendations from Jake where on point. Including the old fashions made with OLD FORESTER! We had a great meal with great service and we will definitely be coming back. BTW this owner is also responsible for my amazing review on EGGSACTLY. 💓💓💓💓 My favorite breakfast spot in La Verne 🤗

Everything was good except for the garlic fries. They were overwhelming to the point of after having 1 we had trouble tasting our other food. I like garlic but this was way too much. Besides that we would return but without the garlic fries. After getting a response from the owner I was corrected by saying that they dont have garlic fries, they have truffle fries.Even more troubling because they tasted garlicky and way over seasoned with that truffle flavor that you added.Therefore I stand corrected.Truffle fries....

First visit, definitely not the last. Extremely busy on a Saturday at 6pm however the vibe and atmosphere is very nice. Really impressive establishment, especially for a first timer. Took a minute to get a drink. Helps to pre-game in situations like this. Had a party of around 8, with reservation. We were seated in a reasonable time, and once at our table service was fantastic with no waiting on food and drink. Recommended.

Second time here and both dinners were amazing. Great spirit forward cocktails with creative appetizers! Wine list that is large enough to please almost anyone, but not overwhelming. The Bison short rib, deviled egg appetizer, and brownie sundae wer the absolute stars of the meal! The short rib was incredible especially when paired with a Pinot noir!

The food was excellent. Honestly the best risotto with chicken Ive had and it was vegan based! Unfortunately, the wait for our food to arrive was tremendously long, especially on a Monday. I think this spot would be perfect for a date or if you plan on having drinks first; however, if youre going here with kids or are expecting to have your food right away expect to wait at least 30+ minutes for your food to arrive.

Love that place but they need to fire their kitchen manager. I had to call out the bartenders twice for a drink. It took 20 min to get a drink. Two items took 40 min each to come out. They have always had bad food service. They never get it right and take forever to make anything. I wasn’t the only one complaining. The entire bar was saying the same thing as well. Not going there anymore considering I have been going there for years. Really disappointed considering how much money I have spent there over the years. Don’t go during happy hour! That’s the worst! Good luck getting food or a drink right away.Posted this review 4 months ago and no one was willing to answer as to why their service is really bad. Obviously they don’t care about how they run their business. Former loyal customer never coming back to that convalescent home after all the money I spent there for years. Very disappointed. Their kitchen ruins my order all the time. They don’t really care was my impression. Their arrogance will catch up with them eventually. Claremont has better crowds, better food and most importantly better service. Why anyone puts up with their horrible service is beyond me?

Probably wouldve given 3 stars but our experience wasnt that good at this place. Not sure why it was so hard to get a well -done cooked burger but that ask proved to be the most difficult task for the cook(s). Not sure why people assume a well-done burger is dry. Theres plenty of places that can cook a well-done burger and it is still juicy and moist and cooked all the way through. This restaurant unfortunately failed. Had to send the burger back because there was a lot of pink. When the burger came back it looked as if they put the burger in the microwave to finish it off. It was hard and not edible. We asked the staff to take it off the bill and they did but it did not leave a good impression. BTW, the meal was a cheeseburger salad. If you like your meat well-done, dont order this item as they will ruin it.

Chases in La Verne is a nice addition to the area. We recently visited it for dinner with my close friend from Bonita High School. We sat at the bar and had a great bottle of wine to accompany our steak dinners. We were really happy with the food portions and flavor. We will definitely come back and dine here.

Great location in downtown LaVerne, CA 91750. Treager smoker leads you into this fine establishment packed with character & superb craftsmanship. Had their wild boar tacos, followed with wild boar dinner. Fantastic staff, service, and atmosphere. Enjoy!

This is our go to place when my family wants a nice dinner. Dinner was a big disappointment today. It was so bad that we don’t even want to return. We were talking about all the other places we could have gone for the same amount. I spent 191.00 for three people. I would not recommend this place anymore. We also had to wait a long time for our drinks and appetizer. We were there for an early dinner so it was not too busy.

Good food and a nice bar. I usually like this spot but mothers day was pretty bad. Either employees called in sick or they just didnt prepare. We got sat pretty quickly abs it didnt look too busy, but we waited almost 90 minutes for our food. The waitress was very nice but I had to ask for a break since the wait was so bad. Ultimately they committed us the cheapest drink on our tab lol.

Today my father asked where we could get a bite and this location came up. So after trying the brisket and cheese sandwich (which I felt had almost no taste) and the Lamb burger (not bad compared to other similar sandwiches tried). I feel it may be best to look at other places and try again later down the line.

EDIT: Jessy, one of the event coordinators/managers, reached out the next day after I posted the review. She apologized the restaurant did not meet expectations. She said that if we didnt think the service warranted 20% gratuity, then the restaurant agrees and offered to refund our gratuity. Typically, the gratuity is automatic, but if a group seemed unhappy they manually remove it.My group decided the gratuity should stay because we felt it wasnt necessarily the servers fault. It is a busy restaurant and he was most likely running up and down the two floors. When I wrote the review, I did not mean to focus solely on the service.Jessy let us know she would personally attend to us the next time we make a reservation. For a business to take our feedback seriously, I am positively surprised. They take reviews into account and try to improve where they can. This gesture on its own deserves a higher rating. Thank you.ORIGINAL: We waited 30-40 min. before they asked for our orders. Then waited 40 min. for the food to come out. The waiter seldom returned to us and then charged us automatic gratuity.The food is marketed as high end. But the steaks and chicken were consistently dry among several entrees. The outside of the steaks were burnt. Best to take your $30-40 elsewhere.

Had a great time here. The bartenders and staff were awesome. The food is excellent and plenty of space to accommodate a large party. We had a group dinner and then spent the rest of the night in outside seating. The bar is well stocked so you can get any drink you want. Great selection of beers including local brews.

Nice place. Food and drinks way too expensive. Entertainment is supposed to be free but the band they hire makes everyone feel guilty for not dropping in tips for them. Nothing worse than being made to feel guilty. Were not stupid, we can see the huge container with the word, Tips on it.They seem to hire the same bands over and over, which is fine, but they should ask the bands to change it up a bit. They just play the same songs.Nice atmosphere just too expensive.

If you have actual taste buds DONT COME HERE! If you dont, then walk right in. Meat tasted old and chewy. Everything else tasted like it was dipped in gross chicken broth. Paid a big bill and didnt even take my entire plate that I didnt eat. Not even for my dogs!!! SODA WAS DISGUSTING just syrup mixed with tap water absolutely no carbonation. I wouldnt even recommend this to my worst enemy. They have to make everyone drunk with wine say they cant tell what theyre being fed.

I’m new to La Verne and have heard great reviews about Chase”s for both meals and the happy hour. Went on Wednesday night for dinner and the band. The bar was really busy. Band started playing and everyone started dancing. Next time we’ll go for happy hour!

If you are looking for a place to take a first date, or have a special occasion, or want a location that would be good for socializing, this is an option. The food is decent, there isnt a huge menu, but they have a decent selection. Service could be bettter. The location is nice inside and outside (weather permitting), there is live music at times (call to get details), can get busy weekend nights, will likely need to make a reservation if you have a large group. (Looks like they can accommodate larger groups which is nice) Parking, entrance, restrooms, and seating are accessible.During my visit, got the seasonal fish and the smoked brisket. (See images) Fish was good. The brisket was not. Came with 2 pieces, first piece was very fatty, fat wasnt quite rendered to a point where it is a delight to consume. Second piece was a surprise, roughly a quarter sized piece of meat, the rest was all fat (see image). I asked the server, they spoke with the kitchen and were told they try to trim the fat, I expressed incredulity. Server provided a solution, which was ok. I did notice as I was eating the first piece that the meat was cut along the grain. When I tried cutting the first piece the knife wasnt sharp enough and the teeth got jammed on the muscle fibers. I believe I was either the first person served the brisket, or very likely the last which is why I got all the fat. Mashed potatoes were chunky, broclinni was ok, tops were scorched. Would I come back, possibly at some point in the future, I figure this was just a bad meal I got, so your visit hopefully is better. I didnt get a refill on my water the entire time, even when told they would bring more water. If you order the brisket check what you receive.

My wife and I went here for dinner. We were able to get a reservation the same day on a Friday, which I was surprised by. We had an appetizer, two entrees and drinks. We had a mix of veggies and for the main entree, we had the wild boar. Only took a photo of the burrata appetizer. All was very good. Cocktails were great. Service speed was reasonable. Prices seemed reasonable for the quality of the food, service, and space. We’ll go back again.—-We went back here again for a special occasion with friends. Decided to split the legendary Tomahawk steak. We split it with 4 of us, split a salad and the burrata. The tomahawk flavor was outstanding and it was cooked just right. Splitting it with the salad and an app was enough for 4 of us to split, but we were fine with small portions of the steak. Splitting with 3 would be a little more balanced.

Chase’s has excellent top rate food and drink at reasonable prices. My wife and I went there on 1/14 and sat at the bar to watch football and enjoy the food. I had the Wagyu meatloaf and she had the risotto with chicken. Both were top notch. We also shared the deviled eggs for an appetizer. Very good all around. Jason, our bartender, made sure we had water and cocktails without having to wait or ask. He makes a great Old Fashioned with just the right amount of bitters and a very fresh orange peel and a nice Luxardo cherry. Excellent drink, excellent food all at a reasonable price. Highly recommend and we will be going back.

Visited for brunch on a Saturday, upscale but laid back. Over all from staff to the menu to the dining options a great choice. Had a caprese Flatbread app that was fresh and appetizing all the way around. We got the green chili and pork, chicken and waffles, and crab eggs Benedict. The eggs in the Benedict were quite overcooked but otherwise the meal was very enjoyable. Id love to see this place on a Saturday night hopping with activity.

A friend suggested Chase’s La Verne for their live music on Wednesday. The restaurant is in Old Town La Verne. The hostess was friendly. The ambient was average. The waitress was attentive. I ordered the Tomahawk cooked medium. I was greatly disappointed. The menu stated Wood Fire Grilled Steaks. The Tomahawk was fried, lack of flavor and cooked well done. My worst steak ever! I did not compliant because I did not want to ruin the dinner. The live music was good. I will still come back to this place for live music and drinks. NOT THEIR STEAKS!

Chase’s has been a staple in La Verne for many years! From Date cake to amazing Paperplanes- they have such great capacity. The server I had was simply the worst. She was rude and mean. Not only to me but to her teammates. She spoke to me in a way that was blatantly disrespectful and spoke negatively of her colleague in her absence. From her first interaction with me to the last- she chose to be terrible.

We were invited to eat here by our friends who go here all the time. I got a custom drink that was really good with mandarin vodka. They need to work on their Moscow mule though. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to dine at Chases for the first time. When we got there it was very busy but we were seated at 5:30 per our reservation. They were short staffed so it took a little longer for our server( Jesse who was wonderful) to take our order. We ordered the pork chop and lemon chicken. Both were Absolutely Fabulous. My husband and I had a great anniversary dinner there and will go back again.

A nice little gem of a restaurant tucked away in the city of La Verne. The appetizers are a must to order, and honestly, taste better then the entrées. Ive had almost everything off the appetizers menu (perks of group dinners), and I highly recommend the shrimp remoulade, crispy cauliflower and deviled eggs. Delicious. For entrées, the Chases lemon chicken is very moist with just the right amount of lemon to compliment the dish. The surf and turf and ribeye is your standard steaks. Nothing really stands out but you do get a decent cut of meat. The crown roast pork is ok, its a big piece of bone in pork with a hint of pepper. The vegan risotto was heavily salted but a good alternative for the non meat eaters in the group. Overall, its a nice place for a birthday dinner and service is good. I do recommend giving yourself at least two hours for a meal here. Its definitely not a place to come if youre in a rush since it took awhile for the entrées to come out.

My husband and I dont dine out much because of our busy careers. He has been wanting to eat at your establishment for months. and tonight was a night we chose to visit your location. Parking lot was not filled. No waiting lines either. We checked in and your front end host said it would be 5 minutes. During which another non reservation couple came in and were seated prior to us. We waited a total of 20 minutes to be seated. We counted roughly 20 open areas where we could have been seated, on your lower level! To our surprise we were asked to have a seat on a small sign in table that was just brought in from outside. Placed awkwardly in the middle of walking space. How uncomfortable?Often times your companys culture is reflected with how your staff behaves. I was told about your establishments past and how this was often the case with some of your guests, I over looked that. Doing so I found out first hand. You didnt ruin our night as we now know where not to recommend friends and locals. Just thought I share this with you

During COVID-19, the outdoor patio seating near a heat lamp was pleasant. Our server was nice. I think his name was Philip? The cocktails and food were mixed, but generally good. Regarding cocktails, I tried the Doris Sour, which was supposed to be popular, but I felt was bland and didnt taste sour. The Lavender Lemon Drop was delicious and flavorful though. The best all around dish we had was the Chases Lemon Chicken, which was tender and flavorful. I enjoyed it more than the more expensive Surf and Turf, which was still good however. I ordered the Surf and Turf medium rare, and while the edges of the filet tasted a bit overdone, and covered in a thick sauce, the filet as a whole had an interesting flavor. The prawns and mash potatoe portion of the dish were excellent, but the veggies were plain. We also had the Mac N Cheese with bacon, which was really good if youre a fan of macaroni and cheese. Overall the restaurant was a good experience.

Update: Recently found out about some food quality procedures in the back of the house as well as treating employees poorly. The staff turnover is high, especially the cooks. I will not be going back, which is a bummer, because my first impressions were high, and I have been there several times.Went here for the first time to watch Monday night football and have dinner with my husband and dad last night. Quality food and drinks. The atmosphere is unique and rustic but modern. Service was a little slower than usual, but very friendly. Overall, it was a great experience. We will be coming back for sure.

So dont let the cost detract you from visiting. This restaurant has a high quality of food and does not skimp on delivery of luscious flavors. A solid bar 🍸 for loads of choices plus you can eat in or outside or on outdoor comfy furniture. This is unique as they offer blankets if its too chilly but you still wish to sit outdoors. Staff is friendly and seem to like what they do. Worth the cost.

My steak was supposed to be a 14oz Australian grass fed steak, but it had not been char grilled and seasoned right and was only warm. My green spindly broccoli ( I guess ) was partially burnt to a crisp, and the garlic mashed potatoes were cold. The price of this meal was $49.95. I AM ASSUMING THAT SINCE THIS WAS AT 3:30 PM, THE REGULAR CHEF AND MANAGER WAS NOT PRESENT YET. THIS MEAL, FOR THE PRICE, SHOULD NEVER HAVE LEFT THE KITCHEN, IT WAS PITIFUL! Only 2 out of 5 meals at our table were even decent, and I dont want to take time to try to describe them. I will only say I sampled some carrots from another plate, and they were almost raw and literally cold inside. Also, the Bleu cheese dressing was thin and laughable. It was the worst dining experience I have ever experienced, and I certainly dont want my gracious hosts to know my feelings about it, because It was a sacrifice for them. SORRY!

If I could give 10 stars I would! I didnt have reservations and everything worked out fortunately. I first took my date to the bar and met an awesome bartender Steven who showed me you a cool trick with an orange rind and fire🔥. Then had the fortune to meet the owner and waited until they had a table outside. They put us outside by a heater and had live music. A+ I would highly recommend you dining here if youre with in 500 miles. Outstanding!

The food was great. Service was hit and miss. Everyone disappeared a few times. I dont know if it was because the staff was stretched thin. They had a table occupied on the patio, one in the bar, and ours in the main restaurant. Midweek lunch does not seem to be a busy time. They are not good for a quick lunch. But they do great, high quality, interesting food. The restaurant was empty for lunch. I really liked their cauliflower appetizer. They have live music sometimes, which might be nice and probably makes a great date night.

Good parking. Beautiful place. Clean. Friendly waitress. Old Fashion was great: strong and generous amount. Truffle Fries tasted great, good amount for appetizer. I ordered a medium rare Prime Butler Steak. The steak was medium/well done, and had a lot of oil which overflowed on the board. The Chimichurri on the steak looked old, and made the dry steak taste worse. The mashed potatoes were flavorless, and Ive had better from out of box make it home. $123 for lunch was not worth it.

Was pretty gross honestly.So yeah, good was great, staff super friendly, but Id say skip this place unless you like your fried chicken with a huge side of capitalism.

I had heard great things about Chase’s and was looking forward to visiting. My expectations were met in the food category, however the service received during our visit was laced with attitude from our server and tainted the experience significantly. It was also a very warm day outside and it was sweltering inside the dining room - the climate control seemed to have issues. Our server had advised us that “it would be in poor taste” to procure happy hour drinks directly from the bar, as we were seated in the dining room rather than the bar area or outside… we should have moved outside to the patio (given the similar temperature inside) to partake in happy hour perhaps temper the egregious attitude of our server (Shawn) a bit. The “poor taste” comment is one of several examples of her clear disrespect for our group.I don’t expect to return here, would rather go elsewhere without the attitude. For the record, two other servers who checked in with our table during Shawn’s lengthy stretches of inattention were quite pleasant but the overall experience was below expectations for the level of service one would expect from a restaurant such as this.

We have been dining here for years. Chases has changed ownership several times. The original owners had a great variety and delicious catch of the daydishes that made this place appealing. Some of these were Chilean Sea Bass, Sword Fish, and Hawaiian Opah. Which were of course delicious!!! All they have been mostly catching nowadays is Salmon.The original owners took care that the meat was prepared as ordered as the servers waited for the meat to be cut, once served, or asked if it was cooked as ordered. We have been supporting this restaurant for over 6 years, pre pandemic, pre owner change. The quality of food is not to par. Our waitress Amber was superb, sweet, professional, and has served us before. The only reason I am giving three stars is because of her. The floor manager, or owner (female dark hair) was rude, very curt, and didnt want to lift a finger. She brought the chicken and waffles over to my brother, and in a disgusted tone, can you move your coffee cup!, and when we asked for the peppercorn butter for the chicken and waffles (it is supposed to be served with it), she only brought one for three seperate dishes. I said, excuse me there are three dishes. She was very very rude, and she should not be on the floor with guests with that attitude. She didnt even come back, the waitress did though. She was great, and was doing the best she could. I feel bad for the people that work with that floor manager/ owner. Everyone has had a difficult time during this pandemic, so dont bring your attitude to work, be thankful you have something.The chicken was dry, and the waffle tasted like a frozen waffle, and was very grainy. No flavor, and not the norm. We supported you guys throughout the pandemic, and it is a shame to see that one person who hates her job, can ruin an established business. We may or may not return.

Which I could rate this restaurant higher, but I ordered the Popeye Salad which has sliced steak in it. The meat was tough, and since it was cold, the fat from the meat left that slimy feeling on your tongue. It would be better if they either trimmed the fat off the steak or offered salmon or chicken. Service was good but slow. Deviled eggs were bizarre with egg yolk mixed with avocado. Wish I could say I liked that - didnt. Pricey for what you get.

If you havent ventured to this hidden gem, you have to do it soon. The absolute charm of this place is only surpassed by the amazing food and impeccable service. The backyardlike atmosphere is so relaxing and treats you to a little escape from life. But as I said, visit soon as they will be moving up the street to a newer and more modern facility. This was our first visit to Chase’s Restaurant. When I made the reservation I noted that we were celebrating my 75th birthday. When we arrived the hostess asked me if we were celebrating anything. I told her that it was my 75th birthday which she acknowledged. Well, that was the last of any mention of my birthday!!Needless to say both my husband and I were very disappointed. At the least I expected an acknowledgment from the waiter and hopefully a dessert to celebrate the occasion. NO, nothing!!!

Each Sunday Supper Club has a different menu for each Sunday (first,etc.) Third Sunday is seafood. Creamy, not pasty, clam chowder has just enough tiny yellow potatoes, a mound of clams on the bottom, and a sprinkling of crispy bacon. Poke was VERY hot and spicy. Perfectly cooked shrimp. Chefs special date cake was creamy and moist. But I recommend the vanilla ice cream on top to take it up the last notch. We had two Reislings, each authentically German, sweet and crisp at the same time. Attentive service. However, a football game was playing in the bar and couldnt be escaped.

This was not my first time dining at Chase’s and both times I had the same waitress. The food was very tasty and I love the decor, the service was not so desirable. I was served a dessert with melted ice cream and when I asked for coffee ☕️ the waitress responds was “our coffee is French pressed and I would have to go downstairs to get it” First she brought me a ☕️ cup knocking my 👜 to the floor, then preceded to walk over to another table in our party, pick up a carafe of ☕️ that had been sitting out for at least 45 minutes perhaps longer, then filled my cup. My friend turned to me and said is that even hot? I smiled and said it’s fine. Of course it wasn’t hot and when I added the half & half the ☕️ became cold. Needless to say I didn’t get a chance to taste the “French Pressed” ☕️. Hopefully third time is a charm & perhaps a different waitress or waiter.

Let me preface this by saying I dont enjoy leaving negative reviews, but Chases stands alone in their poor quality of food, service, and value. First off, the Chases is trying to be an up-scale Steakhouse/traditional cuisine restaurant. The menu snobbishly says something along the lines of dont ask for substitutions because the head chef masterfully crafted this menu with his spectacular pallet. His pallet is deeply flawed, and it appears the only taste he has is for that of black pepper. To begin with, the rose infused vodka mixer was delightful, and was the highlight of the whole experience. Most comparable restaurants offer complimentary bread, Chases however, lists bread ambiguously as $1 per person. We obliged, and received 2 dinner rolls. $1 per dinner roll with butter, thought this was pretty tacky. It only got worse as the night went on. The Caesar salad was fine, just like anything youd expect elsewhere. The true nightmare came with the main courses, two dishes which should be prepared perfectly at any place hoping to compete with other eateries priced similarly. We ordered the Scallops ($30), and the Ribeye ($40). The scallops, were dreadful. Horribly overcooked, the flavor of the meat was non existent because of over seasoning and over cooking. The latter of which left the shellfish with an extremely rubbery and unpleasant texture. The pasta underneath, was colorful, but absolutely flavorless. The Ribeye, while large, was prepared in the most sophomoric fashion possible. Remember, NO COLOR, NO FLAVOR. It was as if the cut was boiled rather than pan fried, as there was absolutely no sear on the outside of the meat. It was apparent that a huge amount of black pepper was poured on the crust to try and mimic a sear and imitate natural flavor. I ordered it medium rare, and was presented with three different temperatures. 1/3 was mid-rare, 1/3 was well, and 1/3 was totally rare nearly raw, which absolutely bewildered me. They also somehow managed to make a cut of Ribeye taste like and have the consistency of a sirloin. I couldnt eat more than several bites of this and I simply boxed the rest for my dogs. The vegetables and mushroom sauce were far superior than the main dish, and actually palatable. The potato wedges were unlucky enough to face the wrath of the excessive black pepper, and were completely inedible. Overall, it tried to be a premium cut of steak, but failed miserably and was obviously prepared by a novice chef that has no control over what comes out of his kitchen. The service also rapidly deteriorated throughout the night, our waitress started out very accommodating, but soon forgot about us even though we ordered appetizers, 2 main dishes. and 2 cocktails. It took over 20 minutes to simply get a refill on a glass of water. It gives me no pleasure to leave such a review, but Chases not only disappointed me severely, but I also felt ill the next morning, maybe it was just a coincidence. I would advise prospective customers to instead patron other experienced and professional steakhouses, such as Houstons, Ruths Chris, or even Pomona Mining company, do not spend your money here as you will overpay and be left unsatisfied. The entire experience was awkward! Why was someone [a manager?] sitting behind us at a table in the bar counting out a register? Discussing something about the about the balancing of it loudly with an earpiece? For 45 minutes? This is Friday night at 5:30 and its filling up!Irritating! Come on! Isnt there an office for that? My 1st complaint is if you are going to constantly be changing out the craft beer, simply put the domestic and craft prices on the menu and have a chalkboard in there that they can erase and update the selection. The flatbread was good but what horseradish? It was flavorless white stuff. And the burger, for $17.00[and well pay anything for a good burger!]what a joke! It was charred black and the driest burger I have ever had. Mediun is a tiny pinkish in the center, learn it! Great quality meat can be cooked well and still be flavorful and juicy. Who needs a tomato end slice that is thicker then the burger? I had 2 bites and couldnt take it. The shaved parmesan [needs to be fine grated to stick!] Was translucent and rubbery like it is just sitting out? We never saw our waitress so nothing could be said. Like I said she was busy and new. Everyone has different taste so to each there own. This should be taken as constructive, good luck!
