About 8 years ago we selected Cava and Faulkner to prepare a trust for us. We chose this firm because it was a long time fixture in Elk Grove. Upon completion of the work, we were very pleased and recommended the firm to a friend who had similar work completed and she too was pleased with the outcome.Now, some things have changed requiring revisions to our trust. Again, the work was done efficiently, met our requirements and most importantly of all, gave us a feeling of comfort and security.We recommend this law firm for any trust work needed. By the way, the cost of engaging and attorney is expensive. In spite of that, the cost assessed was fair, certainly well within reason and a good value for the work performed.

Joe and I realized that our trust needed to be updated (in fact he couldn’t even find it). So when our daughter-in-law and son recommended Cava Faulkner to us it was a blessing actually. Christine guided us and explained everything thoroughly (sometimes 2 or 3 times) as we are not technical people. We made our decisions and Christine completed the trust and it was done. Recently had Christine complete a Will/Trust set of documents for my family trust. It was quite an experience. First was an extensive explanation of Christine’s approach to estate planning. Along with that I was to explain my goals and expectations. There is a lot to consider and many questions to be asked. When you decide that you should get a living trust, which is as soon as you own a house or have a family, call Christine Faulkner. We asked her to update our 1994 trust since all of our kids are now adults and we did not need the trust to deal with who would care for our kids when we are gone. I met with three Estate attorneys. I felt like Goldilocks. One was very nice and inexpensive. One was somewhat cold and expensive. Christine was very personable and priced in the middle. I felt the least expensive one didnt quite understand my needs. I didnt have any kind of a connection with the 2nd one. I feel I chose correctly with Cava & Faulkner. Very personable and professional. I never felt rushed. Its not easy making a trust, however, I was comfortable with Christine and Jean Marie. I highly recommend.

Roughly 18 mons ago my husband and I realized that our 30-something year old Will needed updating! Yikes! Where to start....maybe a quick google in my Elk Grove zip code?( Anything to avoid driving downtown with endless high rise office buildings.) Right away Cava & Faulkner (Attorneys and Counselors at Law) popped up, so I clicked their link.There was a photo posted for Christine E. Faulkner, Esq ( David Cava is her husband and partner at the firm) and her specialty was Trusts, Estates and Families. After reading her profile I just thought, jackpot!!I dialed the number and heard the most welcoming voice of (office manager ) Jean Marie greeting me and we started the process. My first request was to have the appt held in my home (my husband had been unwell) and there was no problem about that. I received, filled out and returned their info packet after which the appointment was held.Christine and Jean Marie both came and it was an easy, enjoyable (yet thorough) 2 hrs of discussion, information, options and current laws. We chose to execute a Trust instead of a new Will. A few weeks later I picked up our 3-inch binder with all our wishes thoroughly documented and was also told that this binder could be continued by any other Estate Planner if we chose!Christine Faulkner is astute, intuitive, very competent and always current in matters of Estate Planning and Trusts! My wife and I got one of their flyers in the mail for a free Trust consult group meeting but couldnt make it so I called and they were able to do a private consult. Met with them and they went into great detail about the process, cost, and all the pros. After it was all done my wife and I felt thoroughly educated so we hired them to create our family plan on the spot. I was previously going to use one of those online websites to create my Trust but after the first consult with Cava & Faulkner I knew I was in way over my head and those online websites just wont cut it. We did not have any documents in place for the care of our children or control of assets in the event of death. We looked for estate planning attorneys in Sacramento and Elk Grove and chose Christine Faulkner as we felt she aligned with our goals. I could not have asked for a better lawyer than Christine. After dealing with a lawyer for my dad’s estate where he just did the minimum and charged $450 an hour at that Christine was a breath of fresh air. For a set fee that we knew in advance she met with us three times to set up our trust. She answered all of our questions and at no time did I feel rushed. It was a great experience and on that I would highly recommend her to anyone.

My Dad passed in late 2019 and my siblings and I found that he had not left his affairs in order as to his wishes. We will have to go through the process of Probate. That makes me so nervous. It was the “Best” decision we could have made for our family. We were a bit apprehensive to call because we felt that we really don’t have a lot, we own a home and have some assets, but we wanted what we did have, to be protected and handled correctly for the future as well as we were concerned about the cost to provide direction and protect our assets. They provided and discussed options for us to make the best decisions for our family. During Covid it seemed like a good time to finally complete my estate planning. Everything was surprisingly easy despite all of the closures during this time. Other than one notary, my family and I were able to complete everything online through virtual meetings. Christine and Jean Marie are very easy to work with.
