I’ve been here twice, both times had a great experience. The food is delicious and always hot and fresh. I personally haven’t always been the biggest fan of Mexican restaurants that are on the “fancier” side because I feel they sometimes lack the authentic street-food taste that my favorite Mexican dishes usually have. This place is an exception. The flavor is good and both times we were provided great service. The churros are to die for, and the nachos were delicious. The strawberry frozen margarita (we had one once with the gummy worms) is also a highlight and a must have for a drink. Definitely will come again for a great atmosphere and delicious food.

This is a charming restaurant with great service and a welcoming atmosphere. My friend and I went for an early supper so it was not super crowded. We sat outside and it was just such a fun, relaxing, pretty vibe. Waitress was so gracious and friendly. Very good food too!

My friend and I had a blast at Casa Vega. The atmosphere is lovely and upbeat. We got serenaded at our table by a live performer, which added to the experience. The food was good, not great. I ordered the Casa Vega bowl with steak, and my friend got the spinach enchiladas. There were plenty of gluten-free options, and the restaurant was safe with cross contamination. Be sure to make a reservation in advance. Overall, a fun night living out our Kardashian dreams!

CASA VEGA, ES UNA CASA DE ESPERANZA PARA MI!Circa 2009 to 2012, I lived a couple of blocks away from Casa Vega and I was a regular. Im back in the Valley and the first place I went to, on my first day back, was to Casa Vega!Food and atmosphere are still great! Service still fantastic!Tonight I forced myself to eat (Ive had a loss of appetite, since The Villain announced he wanted a divorce) . I ordered the Chopped Taco Salad. It was just what needed! I ate every bit! Unlimited homemade chips and salsa, are still on menu and such a treat!They have a new brunch menu, which means, Ill be back for brunch very soon!

Amazing gem of the valley and a quick sneak down from the Hollywood Hills. Casa Vega not only has great drinks and food, but excellent staff and atmosphere. Great spot for a bite alone at the bar. Got a good tequila recommendation from the bar staff also. Will return. 10/10

My wife and I came here for lunch today. I made reservations off OpenTable just if they were busy. I parked on the street since its free parking for 2 hrs on a Sunday. I called ahead to check about the parking, they said the parking behind the restrauant is valet only at all times. The entrance is on the side of the building. When I walked inside, the place is kind of dark but not so bad. We got seated right away but it took the waiter a while to come to our table. He was the only one working the area we were seated so I understand. My wife and I started off with a coke to drink. We then put in our orders, I got the burrito and the waiter asked if I wanted chesse and salsa on top which I said sure why not. I didnt know until the check came that it was an extra fee, it wouldve been helpful if he told me that but I saw it was also on the menu on top. My wife got the Enchiladas Pollo Mole, our food came out quick. I thought my burrito was alright, they give a decent amount of Carne asada inside. My wife thought her Enchiladas was good but said the chicken wasnt the best. The chips were kind of dried and stale, we thought the salsa was good. The mens bathroom is also small with only 1 small and 1 urinal station with no privacy wall so be aware. We most likely wouldnt come back but it was a good experience trying this place.

Originally opened in 1956 Casa Vega is certainly one of the more famous Mexican restaurants in the valley, and I would say one of the better ones. It has a lot of connections to movies and shows so a lot of people know about it even before stopping in. It is a bit pricey compared to other Mexican restaurants, but not by that much. They don’t have self parking, it is valet only but there are plenty of street metered spaces available surrounding the restaurant. We were able to find one right out front for a 7PM Saturday dinner. Our server was extremely polite, was very fast with a drink refills, and overall he did a great job.They have a very large menu with pretty much all of the classics on it. I started off with the Chile Con Queso Soup, and it was honestly really good and very cheesy. Next we shared the Chicharrónes and we both especially liked the verde sauce that came with it. We also ordered the table side Guacamole and as expected it was really good and went fast. For my entrée I chose the Carne Chile Colorado and really enjoyed it. It’s been one of my favorite Mexican dishes since childhood so I have had it tons of times. I switched to flour tortillas which I feel is a better combo with the steak. It had great flavors so I would order it again next time and would recommend it.Overall a solid and famous Mexican restaurant with great ambience in the valley. I don’t go to the valley often, but would certainly stop in again next time I am up that way, and would recommend to anyone who is close by as well.

Incredible, authentic Mexican in LA. Simply the best! A cozy, family run establishment that I’d been dying to visit for years and it certainly lived up to the hype. From the delicious margaritas to the cheese enchiladas, the entire experience was amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a great Mexican restaurant with a great menu and a wide selection of cocktails and drinks. The food honestly tasted really good and had a well balanced profile with one exception. There was no spice in any of the food or salsas and it was the one thing that would have made the meal amazing. The ambiance was classy and romantic. It was quite loud in the restaurant from the conversations people were having. The staff was nice and service was fast.

If I could give the service 10 stars, I absolutely would! Between Daniel and Marco, we were checked on multiple times, had our drinks refilled more than once, and allowed to visit with our friends for longer than is probably normal. We sat out on the patio. It was a beautiful California day and Im so glad we chose to eat out there. The weather was perfect and the patio is so inviting.I really enjoyed the salsa and the shredded beef taco was really good! We will be back!

No wonder the Kardashians frequent this joint, redesigned by notorious loudmouth former Bravolebrity back-stabber trout lipped Jeff Lewis, CV reigns supreme w classic barrio Mexican style food enhanced a-la chicken bouillon. Portions are great, drinks are strong, mood is get-down-to-eat vibes. The decor is giving me cute date night. We started off w their chips n salsa where we dipped into the salsa like kids doing their first cannonball into their pools. I had the fajitas and Greg had the Chilli verde burrito. I accompanied my dish w grilled jalapeños and it sealed the deal. Nothing makes Mexican food taste better than chargrilled jalapeños w each bite. Enter food coma. Thank god for the margaritas to snap us out. This place warrants many many visits.

I have been going to this place since I was a little girl. This place has great ambiance, good food and excellent service. However, it is a bit pricey for what you get, but the cheese enchiladas never disappoint. Just a quick note, this restaurant tends to be a bit loud, so if you are looking for a quiet and intimate date night, this might not be for you.

Is Casa Vega touristy? Yes. But that’s probably the reason why you are there so you shouldn’t be shocked at it being busy, rushed service, expensive, etc. I thought the food (while overpriced) was great! They have all the classics and any of their combo plates make a great meal. We started off with the Tostada Chiquita, which is kinda like a taco salad on a tostada? It was worth going back for by itself. The restaurants decor is classic and really makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Service was good, but a bit rushed. We never had to worry about drink refills or plates being removed. I would come back in a heartbeat!

Casa Vega has been one of my FAVORITE place to go when I want great Mexican food. There are many things I like - the food, the staff the convenience. But the crowds are just too much. Unless you get there before 5pm you will be waiting for sure.

I truly enjoy the outdoors patio at Casa Vega. They put in lights and refreshed the place in a way it feels comfortable with enough space amongst tables. The service was great and the music isn’t super loud you can hold a great conversation. Unfortunately my last visit the patio was closed and me and 6 other people in my party were sat at the very last table in very dark corner where you had to literally touch the other table to squeeze in. It’s was rectangular table so we couldn’t have a group conversation. Food was OK and margaritas were great. I’ll come back over and over so long their patio is open.

When I went inside, I thought the interior was very nice and clean. I had heard about this place from celebrities so I decided to go. The woman in the front sat us quickly and we were greeted by our server Eric S. He seemed pretty okay at first but I was a bit confused because he offered us drinks and then another server came and started asking us the same questions so I don’t believe there wasn’t any communication between servers. Anyways, we ordered the food and it was okay but for the price, it’s definitely not worth it. My burrito was $21 and it was so small and plain. The chicken was dry. Honestly, my mom could have made a better and bigger burrito than this. I should have just gone to Salsa and Beer #2 because they have real authentic Mexican food. Also, for some reason, the plates were really hot but our food was kind of cold which was odd. Anyways, our server, Eric, never offered to refill our glasses of water or offered a vase of water, which all the other tables had except ours and every time he talked to us he seemed annoyed. As a server myself, this behavior is unacceptable and rude. I don’t know if he was having a bad day but don’t put your emotions onto your guests. When it was time to pay, he gives us the check and my boyfriend was getting his card out and the server, Eric, just walked away. We kept waiting and tried getting his attention multiple times and he wouldn’t pay attention. After 10 minutes of waiting we finally stood up and we saw him just standing in a doorway of the kitchen, doing nothing. I really expected more from this place and I thought the service was going to be amazing because of how nice the place looked, how nicely dressed the servers were and how famous this place is but I was completely wrong. I don’t know if we weren’t served right because we look young and he thought we wouldn’t tip well but he didn’t get tipped because of how poorly his service was to us. I wouldn’t recommend this place because of him. The other servers looked like they were having a great time with their tables and he seemed to be chit chatting away with his other tables, but we were a different story. Either way, the food wasn’t very good for the price. I would just go to Salsa and Beer #2 on Sherman Way.

I didnt give it a 5 star because they cant accommodate a table of three. The squeezed us into a tiny table for 2 and put an extra chair. We even asked to wait for an available table and they said they would and could not accommodate. After waiting for 45 min. We conceived.

The Rude older lady manager came to our table after we were sat with drinks for dinner and told us we have to move because she needs this table for a table of 5. She moved us into the back corner of the restaurant while half the tables were open. When I asked her about it she said we were a table of 3 and then she said we could have the same exact table that was right next to it. She then sat the table with a chair at the end of a booth blocking the hallway to the bathroom which is a fire safety violation. What an awful experience. I couldn’t believe how rude she was. Must be a nightmare to work for. Go elsewhere. Sad that a place with so much history has lost its humble charm.

From the moment the valet opens your door, youre greeted with such warmth and hospitality that you feel like youre their honor guest. The outdoor patio area is perfectly concealed and covered in beautiful chic white paint that harmoniously blends well with a bar covered with beautiful Mexican decor. Back in 2018 I vowed to never go back to Casa Vega. But it seems the owners/management got the message, as my previous complaints have been thoroughly addressed by management. Service was wonderful, good was great, and the Casa Vega in love with seems to be back!My previous favorite menu item, the oven burrito, has been renamed, but it is still there as the basic burrito, with shredded beef. And it was delightful to enjoy it again after so many years of it being out of my life..Keep it up! And welcome back!

I have been to Casa Vega numerous times and will not stop coming back. The food is fine for a Mexican joint, I don’t come here for the food. I come here for the drinks, service and atmosphere. It’s usually busy and packed so I would recommend a reservation ahead of time for sure. The spicy margarita is to die for as well as the rest of their drinks. This is a great spot for a date night or an outing with friends. You really can’t go wrong. There’s a reason they have been around so long.

Went there for the first time for my birthday lunch on a Sunday right when they opened at 11:30AM. Sat in the booth next to the one Brad Pitt and Leo DiCaprio sat for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood as that actual booth would have been pretty tight for the 6 of us. Of course had to try the Tarantino Margarita, and it was very good. Ordered tableside guac. Not only is it fun to see it made in front of you, this was the best bites of the meal. I got the chicken mole, which was ok. The rest of my family were pleased with their food, but I cant remember nor did I take pics of what they got 😅. The room with the booths was very dark, but I enjoyed the ambiance. We were pretty stuffed, so didnt have much room for dessert, but the restaurant was nice enough to give a small flan for my birthday. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and would love to go back with other guests and family.

I can see why this place has been around for so long and is frequented by so many celebs. Its a great dinner spot. Went here for Valentines Day, traffic was horrendous but they still sat us even though we were late. The ambiance is amazing. There were hearts everywhere, people singing and everyone just feeling the love. They gave my kids some chocolate covered strawberries and had amazing wait staff. Only gripe I would have are the portions for the price being on the smaller side and my molcajete was kind of too salty but overall we had an amazing time.

I get it....the place is somewhat legendary, its located on Ventura Blvd. in the heart of Sherman Oaks, and its been featured in movies....blah blah blah. If all that matters to you, and youre into paying triple the price for simple Mexican food, then this is definitely your place. But, in this day and age the best bang for your buck speaks volumes, and $24 for an astonishingly small plate with two fish tacos and rice and beans just seems INSANE!! Youll get twice the amount of food for nearly half the price at Salsa & Beer.

We ventured into this spot with high hopes, only to find ourselves utterly underwhelmed. If I could rate it a negative zero stars, I would! However, its not all doom and gloom.Lets start with the positives: The initial greeting and the swift delivery of Chips and Salsa were commendable. Kudos to the team for their efficiency in getting us started on the right foot.Unfortunately, the momentum faltered when it came to drink orders. We found ourselves twiddling our thumbs for over 20 minutes before our beverages arrived. And while the drinks were passable, the delay left much to be desired.Our waiter seemed more enamored with the spectacle behind the bar than attending to our needs. Despite a bustling restaurant, their attention was elsewhere, leaving us feeling neglected.When it finally came time to order food, the process dragged on for another 20 minutes. The Tableside Guacamole lacked the punch we were hoping for, and the quality of the chips left us questioning if they were an afterthought.The Spinach Enchiladas, unfortunately, missed the mark with a cold center and lackluster flavor. However, not all was lost as the Black Bean Taquitos managed to salvage some semblance of satisfaction.To add to the chaos, neighboring patrons experienced similar woes with their orders and had to resort to flagging down backup staff due to the main waiters sudden disappearance on a break.Upon expressing our frustration to the busboy, we learned that the disjointed service was a result of the wait staffs synchronized breaks, leaving the ship without a captain during peak hours.In conclusion, while there were fleeting moments of promise, the overall experience left much to be desired. Hopefully, management takes note and addresses the staffing issues to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for future patrons.

This place is to dining, as the souvenir shops on hollywood are to an authentic film industry experience - its a gimmick and only operating because it has history.Food was okay, basically the best mexican food youd find if there wasnt a single mexican person for 100 miles, so very okay.Our server used the minimum number of words necessary to complete the transaction. For example, we sat down and about 3 minutes later she shows up and the only words are do you guys know what you want to drink? with no emotion on her face, introduction, suggestions, or did you have any questions, etc, just nothing. She spent most of her time looking the other way into into another room, she never offered to get more drinks (since its alcohol Im sure the owners would love to know), didnt even pour our water (warm milk glass style) into our tiny glasses. Service was barely minimal, she did nothing but take the order, drop off the drinks, and the check- we had to wave her down after we sat finished for 5 minutes. You want minimum 15% for quiet quitting? Nope, tips are an addition to your wages which are now $15hr. I spent 11 years in service, and i dont get how servers in l.a. arent KILLING it between hourly and sky high check averages.The atmosphere was what white people think mexican style is, Christmas lights, festive shirts, and music thats too loud. Its like the chilis or Applebees of mexican.Lived here for 12 years, first time, and last time in.

Hostesses were great as they had to let clientele know wait time would be 1hr+ for indoor seating. Put my name in for indoor table and headed to the bar as my husband n I waited. Bartender was great as he handled a crazy amount of people. Ordered Cadillac Margaritas which were excellent. Patiently waited for a table and before long our host seated us.Our server was quite prompt and took our drink orders: two Bohemias and waters, one with lemon. He served the beers and we never got water. He waited on the tables next to us and then came back to take our orders: Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas and the Vega Ribeye. We got our chips & salsa as we waited. Then we were served our entrees. The enchiladas were pretty salty and the shrimp had to have come from a can as they were tiniest shrimp I’ve ever had. The crab tasted good and I don’t believe it was imitation but who knows under the sauce n cheese. The ribeye was cooked as ordered (medium) and was delicious. The rice n beans were good. So, pretty good overall-nothing extraordinary by any means. But here is where we take issue: We had gift cards we wanted to use up, one physical, the other was sent to me by my brother via email (Christmas gift). I had the bar code/square code ready. Our server, who never came back to ask how everything was or see if there was anything else we wanted, told us he’d have to take it to the manager to finish the transaction. She came to us stating that the gift card I received was for ONLINE MERCHANDISE ONLY. What?? Her demeanor told me that she wasn’t going to allow it for the meal. I proceeded to say that it wasn’t my problem and that she would have to take the gift card for the meal. She then told me she didn’t appreciate my attitude and then continued to say it’s stated [for merchandise only] when one buys it online. I said my attitude wasn’t towards her but to the absurdity of the circumstance. But no real apology and I’m still stunned that she had the audacity to say she didn’t appreciate my attitude. She is a manager in the hospitality business-you do not say this ever to a customer in this particular situation. She then asked me to take a screenshot of the gift card and send it to her and that she’d “see what she could do but it would take 5-10 minutes.” She came back and it was taken care of but here’s what Casa Vega: I am never going to patronize your business again. One-you DO NOT sell gift cards online for merchandise ONLY. You’re a restaurant first and only. Second-you need to train your managers how to handle customers in this particular situation a hell of lot better. She could’ve said “Ma’am I understand your frustration, I’m going take care of this but unfortunately these gift cards that are purchased online are for merchandise.”In the end it was taken care of but not without stress of this situation.Casa Vega-money was given to you ahead of time in the form of a card. You do not dictate how it’s going to be spent. Period.But I do thank you for making the decision for me to never frequent your business again.

Best authentic food I’ve tasted in awhile! The restaurant’s interior is beautiful to say the least, and the food is just as delectable. I choose to have a burrito, but as I was eating my food I watched a table nearby order house made guacamole. The wait or mixed it up right in front of them and it was amazing to watch! I loved this whole experience, the only thing is that the entrance can be a bit hard to find 😂

I absolutely love Casa Vega! Its the second time Ive eaten here in the 2 weeks Ive been in LA! This is just a beautiful place where when you enter, not only do you step back in time, but your in a little world of your own. Its very busy, so I recommend making reservations! The nostalgic art work, wrought iron medallions hanging and the beautiful lights make it a fabulous little world to hide away in and eat delicious food!! The staff is always lovely and the food is fabulous! I see why this place has been popular for so many years! The landscaping around the restaurant is gorgeous! Huge cactus, olive trees and succulents surround and frame the Spanish architecture.

Located in the valley, this is a very popular place for locals and the Hollywood types.The food is excellent and like most places it really depends on the time of day, how long your wait might be.The seating is tight so if your uncomfortable sitting close to someone, just let the staff know.The prices are LA prices. The staff is helpful and will suggest special meals should you have a difficult time deciding.The restrooms are small...very small so plan to wait if the location is busy. A funny oddity but it is what it is.

This is a famous restaurant and has been featured in several older Hollywood movies. When we visited, we had a couple of margaritas and the complementary basket of chips and salsa they drop off at every table. Unfortunately, the chips were stale, even after we requested for new chips and let our server know that the ones we received were stale. The best way to describe it would be like eating chips after someone had left, the bag open. This place gets an a for the ambience but unfortunately the food fell short.

It was awful. The worst, most bland guacamole I ever had. Service was awful.. people who came in afterwards were served their food promptly. We were there for an hour and a half.. boyfriends food was awful as well. Very bland. Manager came out to apologize, stating that they had a catering order pop up.. thats why we had to wait so long.. so our $120 check was only $60. But they got the check wrong. The atmosphere and service were amazing but the food was subpar. My favorite part was the salsa, but my husband said it didnt taste like salsa haha (I cant handle spice).My taco was not good in my opinion. Not much flavor and the shell was a stiff puffy type of shell. I couldnt eat it like a taco and had to mash it up and eat with a fork. The enchilada had delicious shredded beef but it didnt taste like an enchilada. The sauce was thinner and lighter in color than I am used to, but overall it was the best item on my plate. The queso was not for me either. It had a grainy kind of texture and being from Texas, it just didnt compare. I LOVE queso, and I didnt eat more than a few bites of it.Overall, it was a good experience but definitely not worth $100+. The price for the quality is why I gave it a two. If it were cheaper, it would be a 3. If the taco had more flavor in the meat and the queso had a better texture and more flavor, it would easily be a 4.

The notoriety of the restaurant attracted me to visit. The restaurant is famous and has been featured in several films, most recently Quinten Tarantinos Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.The restaurant was busy and they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. He said we would have to wait if we wanted to sit outside ( even though we had a confirmed reservation for the patio) After being seated ( inside ), we immediately placed our order and within 3 minutes the appetizers came out. 10 minutes later our entrees came out. Our initial contact with the host made us feel less than welcome. We arrived at 5:15pm and approached the host who asked the name on the reservation. We told him we had no reservation he said they were not accepting walk in seating that night and offered nothing further. Disappointed, we stepped outside. Our server was polite, friendly, and all around helpful and never rushed us. He also seemed to be able to read us well and anticipated when we needed something. He had a posh to his personality that made us feel like we were at a real upscale restaurant.We started with some margaritas which were all great. I really enjoyed the Tarantino. That was the best one of the night.For food, I ordered the molecajete which was simply outstanding. Everything in that dish was great - the steak, the chicken, the shrimp and the Chile relleno. And the consome that it was served in was delicious! Just a fabulous dish.Part way through our meal, another host came to our table to ask the name on our reservation because it wasnt logged in. I saw an email from Open Table that I was a no show for my reservation. Apparently, the original host never checked me in. Ugh ..We finished our meals with some churros. Casa Vega has terrible service and mediocre, overpriced food. My party of 6 had a reservation for 8:30pm but wasnt seated until after 9pm. The server took over 20 minutes just to bring water and another 15 minutes to take our order. Three of us ordered the tiny, pathetic Cali burrito for $31 that was the size of a small Taco Bell quesarito. When I requested no jalapeños, the server rudely stated no changes could be made as its already made, and is pre-prepared, heated up to serve. I found that comment odd, since burritos are the easiest thing to prepare to order and wondered why its pre-prepared. Per the menu, I ordered a side of rice and beans for $7, and got the wet option with enchilada sauce for $4, but was told the sauce, rice and beans is in the burrito. Turns out, I was indeed charged extra for a side of rice, beans and sauce. So, if I dont pay $7 extra, does the burrito not come with anything inside except for the meat and jalapenos? Very odd and expensive burrito...The $19 table side guacamole was a total scam and rip off. The server claimed it would feed 5-6 people, but the tiny portion only allowed 2-3 chips with guacamole for each of us. Do not waste your money on this mediocre guacamole that is sized to feed half as many people as stated.The only positive was the food came out quickly after ordering, but the poor service, mediocre food quality, tiny portions and outrageous prices make Casa Vega an awful choice for dinner. Find a better Mexican restaurant to spend your hard-earned money at instead of this overpriced tourist trap! Listen to all of the negative Yelp reviews for this place. I was confused as to why there are so many positive Google reviews when compared to Yelp, but there may be fake reviews on Google.

Ive been to casa vega before and I was not impressed with the food but the service was great. We decided to give it a try today after like 6 years of not visiting this restaurant. We went in for late lunch, it wasnt busy, its clean, the hostess was freindly, we thought so far we are doing great. Well we sat for about 15 minutes before a gentleman approached and asked if we were ok with water, upon us saying yes he walked away. We didnt know he was our waiter as he didnt introduce himself. When he came around again we ordered drinks and appetizers, we asked him if we should order our food as well(we didnt want to risk not seeing him again) he said yes so we did. Huge mistake!! We got our food first then our appetizers and finally our drinks. My carnitas plate was cold and incomplete my husband had to ask for the rice and beans that come with it. He had a burrito with more rice and beans than meat. Overall not a good experience, we walked away so disappointed, we wanted to love this place unfortunately we couldnt.

The sign lures you in for Happy Hour at 2p. After you order a couple of Margaritas and appetizers you cant see in the dim light that the menu says Happy Hour starts at 2:30 unless you bring a FLASH LIGHT! Sticker shock when the bill comes! Sadly my last visit here was horrendous. We sat on the patio which looked filthy. Our server was nice but everything was slow coming out. Several glassware has lipstick stains as well as the napkins. We let both the server and management know. When the food finally came out one of the items was steaming on top but ice cold inside, obviously left under a food warmer. When we let management know we tried to be kind and polite. He offered to remake the food but we didnt want to wait another hour to have it prepared and the manger agreed it would take a while to fix. The server offered to microwave the food which we declined and just said wed take it home and heat it later as a snack. Not once did the manager or server offer to expedite a replacement dish, refund on the dinner item or even a discount since so many things had occurred. We out of shock, just paid the bill and as we walked out really just thought how ridiculous the entire experience was and went back inside to speak to the manager aside and away from guests and a courtesy to them. After explaining to another manager what happened and the details to dinner all that was offered as a solution was comped alcohol on our next visit. We declined and at that point wanted our money back since no one here seemed to have any concept of customer service or restaurant management skills. There were other guests who had similar experiences that night and were far less polite than we had been. We even forgot to let management know about the busser that was constantly sneezing next to tables and eating leftovers chips out of plates he were clearing off the tables. For being a valley staple and family business from 1956 I have no idea how they are still in business or how so many prominent people stop and eat here. I dont think Rafael Vega would be pleased to see how poorly his restaurant is now being ran.

We were drawn to Casa Vega from the legacy that it has built and maintained for decades, along with the Hollywood nostalgia of yesteryear. While the vibe hit a wonderful dead eye early, the food is no different than a million other bland, run of the mill chains. The prices are unbelievably absurd and our service on this day was that of a uncertain of themselves trainee. What began as a nostalgic treat sadly ended like a highly regrettable train wreck, complete with lots of cash going up in flames. I hadnt been to Casa Vega in at least 15 years so I was excited to go. We had the WORST service. It was NOT busy. It was only 3 pm. It took 20 min just to place our order, then our soup was cold. Once I was done eating, I placed my plate at the edge of the table where it sat for literally 40 min! Every busser or other server that walked by, just looked at it. It was clear I was finished but nobody took it. Turns out our waiter had left an hour earlier! We ended up telling the manager about our experience. He was super nice and took off a round of drinks and the cold soup from our bill. We ended up with $60 discount.We arrived at 3 pm and didnt get our bill until 5pm! We never wanted to be there for 2 hours. I wont be in a hurry to go back, but if I do, Ill most likely sit at the bar.

Went here for birthday last May as I heard it was an icon and good in the Valley. Had reservations for 6, got there saw 3 of my party sitting in a tiny booth. Its all about the atmosphere and the history and the vibe. The staff is friendly, but when it gets busy they are a little bit slower. Mixed drinks are just ok, not worth a 2nd (or maybe even a 1st). Food is ok, nothing special The enchilada was decent, and if I went again I would get that.

Been in LA a long time for a reason... really good food, great service, and a calm interior free of distractions and excessive noise where you can enjoy your meal in the company of friends and family. Ample seating and professional service round out this culinary experience. The Valet parking is $7 and well worth it.

We sat in the outdoor patio at in the evening. I asked the waiter for Spicer salsa for my chips. He said no. There is only one sauce and what he served was it. The chips tasted Ike the oil it was fried in was stale.When it came to ordering dinner I asked for some roasted jalapeños. Once again he said no. We dont have jalapeños, if there are sny we use the at the bar for drinks.I decided to talk to the manager out side the restaurant regarding both issues. He also said no.The dinner was ok. My medium rare flap stake was rare.After dinner our spent plates sat in front of us for at least 15 mins. By this time the patio dining was not busy. The waiter was at the end of the patio on his phone.

This place fell off the food was so bad i used to come here all the time I grew up in the valley and I always enjoyed the food and drinks me and my friends went tonight and everything was just not good The food was bad the flavor was off the drinks just tasted cheap The guacamole was brown and one oh he told the server he said it was out of season ever heard that one before.I don’t know this place Hass to be under new ownership because it used to be so good and now it’s the complete opposite. :(

Went to APL at Casa Vega. Barbecue is fantastic. You need to get there early because they will sell out. Pre-order the crispy pork belly! Totally worth the wait. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be back again and again!
