If you want a luxury accommodation experience in Napa, this is IT. Great location. Its like its own little gated village with cottages. The pool area is amazing. Restaurant top notch and outdoor dining and lawn area is some of the best Ive experienced. What a gorgeous property. Definitely worth the splurge for that special occasion or those with very deep pockets.

We late due to traffic. Resort was very accommodating to stow our baggage and get us checked in. Rooms were okay. The outdoor space was nice. The wine tasting room and the lady working there were absolutely lovely. The wedding was beautiful. Nice venue for upscale event.However, I had hats and accessories shipped for the wedding. I had to call repeatedly to get them delivered to the room. Had an issue with the shower running very hot almost as if the cold water wasn’t working. Since we were attending a wedding, needed an iron which promptly leaked all over the clothing I was trying to iron (they did bring us a different one). I sent clothing out to be dry cleaned. They came back in a bag wrinkled and not cleaned. To be fair, I could have misunderstood laundered vs dry cleaned. I did call in advance to ask if these services were available and was told yes. They said they would remove charges but haven’t seen an itemized statement yet and was there two weeks ago. I had the hats and clothing shipped back to my home. Took two weeks to get it and when I did, it had a sticker on it that said “contains alcohol”. Which it absolutely did not. I filled out a form of everything in the box. This caused a delay in getting the box which was a huge inconvenience because of the dry cleaning. I’m leaving on another trip which was why I wanted the clothing cleaned in the first place.If you are looking for a nice place to stay with things to do onsite, might be okay. If you are looking for amenities as I was, I recommend you look elsewhere.

Carneros is our go-to romantic getaway in wine country. It’s perfectly situated between the Napa and Sonoma wine regions and is such a lovely place to come back to after a day tasting. The amenities are fantastic and there’s nothing like the chill view from the hilltop pool.

My third time here and they never disappoint.One of the best hotel resorts.The cottage are extremely well decorated and very private. The private courtyard with fire pit, loungers and outdoor tub and shower make up for an extraordinary experience.The hilltop pool and tub has great mountain views. Perfect experienceWill keep coming back as it provides a great experience.

Day pass at the kid pool. Nice service lovely environment. Some daily maintenance, like a wipe of the umbrellas and cushions because of birds, would make this the most idealic spot in the valley.

We just went to play pickle ball at Carneros Resort and Spa, and even when we weren’t staying guests, they were very accommodating, they even gave us water to drink before and after our game. Our food came in mid game and no one else was playing so nobody really bothered us, which was good.

We hosted my wifes 40th birtday here. We were ripped off at the bar completely. we are being made to pay for a random number of guests where we are told that all of our drinking guests drank about 9 drinks each which is ridiculously high as we would have had drunk guests falling down in the party. All of our guests drove home that night from NAPA to the bay area.Here is the full story of the dispute:-The first amount we are disputing is a charge of $3,944.00 for preferred cocktails. We are in grave disagreement with the number of drinks the staff determined our guests had consumed. I can literally make a list of the guests that were drinking that day and it just isnt possible that that number of people could have consumed the amount of alcohol that we are being charged for. Thus, 232 preferred cocktails is just not possible given the number of guests that were drinking. Logically speaking if we multiply the possible number of guests who drank that day each one would have had 8-9 drinks and we would have visibly intoxicated guests. None of our guests stayed back in Napa and drove home that day.Additionally, I am not sure why we were charged for some glorified water. We were never informed that there would be a charge for water. We werent told there would be water bottles on display and we would be charged for those consumed. If that was the case our authorization should have been obtained. I dont think its fair that we are being charged for something we did not authorize. We were informed that our guests were given goodbyes with water bottles again, we didnt request or ask for our guests to be served and sent home with water bottles. Thus, we would also be disputing the $1,144.00.We have been trying to communicate multiple times with billing, On Dec 31st WITHOUT MY PERMISSION my cc was charged for the full amount- yes I wasnt asked before charging. And now no one calls back or answers the call. Never host an event HERE- ITS A RIP OFF

Recently stayed at Carneros Resort for the third time, and likely the last. Having had a poor experience on our last visit in 2018, I had reached out to the concierge before booking and was ensured the experience would be exceptional. Our loyalty to the resort when there are similar and newer properties in the area at the same cost, ended up being a poor decision. Grounds are meticulously maintained, however the room was dirty upon check in and had cobwebs throughout, to which we requested additional housekeeping and maintenance to fix the outlets in the room that werent working. Front desk thought I was joking when I requested it the service. One of the advantages to the resort is FARM restaurant being located on site. However there was outdoor seating only and a limited menu, as the indoor restaurant was under construction. There was also no bar service. This should have been a disclaimer before booking both the hotel and restaurant reservation. Hill top pool is in need of resurfacing and the hot tub area was also under construction with a tarp preventing you from seeing the typical/beautiful view. This should have been disclosed before booking the room reservation. Upon checkout, we shipped wine through the concierge back to our home, only to follow up a week later and learn that they had misplaced our form and we had to open up a dispute with the shipping company. Unfortunately we wont be back.

DO NOT USE THEIR CONCIERGE SERVICE! They helped me schedule a couple of days of tours, but then totally dropped the ball and almost ruined our trip. They forgot(?) to book a private driver that I confirmed multiple times for, so the first morning of tours, I had no one to take us. The staff at the hotel did not care one bit and just stared at me blankly and told me I’d have to wait until the concierge came in (which was way too late to do anything about it). They literally didn’t care and offered zero help to rectify the issue. When the concierge did finally show up, he literally said “this is my Monday and I’m just getting in”, like I was being a burden on him. And he still never did a single thing to help. The hotel manager did end up calling later to apologize, but that was it. They could have done more to correct the situation and make me happy, hell, just at least send a bottle of champagne to the room. Saying you are sorry is not enough.I had to wing it and get Ubers and line up my own drivers last minute, which was super stressful.The value for this place, $1200+ for a cottage, isn’t the best.The property is stunning though. And we did have an issue with our AC that was rectified immediately.

Beautiful place. However, the main bar was under establishment, and we were seated in a tented area. But it had a fire pit and live background music entertainment. Good service. We did not eat here because we dropped in after we had my birthday dinner elsewhere. That being said, the manager had the waiter bring out a complimentary mousse truffle pie with a chocolate crisp crust that was absolutely delicious paired with champagne. We will return for dinner

This place was gorgeous!!! Was here for a wedding. Everything was so pretty. They have little village section houses to stay in. Pool spa all the things for an inclusive stay. The views were incredible where they held the ceremony. Staff was very helpful and answered any questions we had. Was very easy to find off the road. Very good wine as well. Stuck to the red blend. The ballroom was perfect size for a dance party.

A real gem, great rooms, amenities, setting, location, and service. The neighborhood like feel really makes for a unique and relaxing experience. Everyone who helped us was amazing as well. Little touches like cars you can borrow were really nice too. Definitely planning on using as our base for Napa / Sonoma in the future!

Wow - where to begin?! We decided on the Carneros as the perfect spot to stay in Napa during our honeymoon and had the most perfect stay.We were upgraded upon arrival and a chilled bottle of the local sparkling wine was quickly dispatched to our room by way of congratulations. The cabin itself is huge, modern and very well designed. All the amenities and facilities you’d expect, whilst the outdoor bathtub, shower and fire pit was the star of the show.Being able to park close to our room was a bonus, and whilst renovations were taking place on the hot tub by the hilltop pool, this didn’t diminish the experience - it remained a wonderful place to chill and the view is still available depending on where you sit.We took advantage of a free pickleball lesson which was heaps of fun, and breakfasts at both the Hilltop cafe and Boon Fly were delicious (you won’t leave hungry).A fantastic stay and we’ll return one day!

Weve stayed here multiple times since they were built. The residences are amazingly well laid out. They make wonderful use of the space and even though there are other buildings nearby, you feel very secluded. Its a wonderful place to escape and relax but still be very close to many places. I wish I could visit more often.

Carneros staff was excellent. Taylor helped us craft a perfect birthday weekend for my wife, with recommendations for onsite activities and made reservations for winery tastings and lunch/dinner for the weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful everywhere and dinner at FARM was delightful.

Just so we are clear, we will never be staying at Carneros again after coming here every year for 4 years in a row.Before we get into the negatives; the only thing that has been consistently good has been Boomfly which seems like its not part of the resort; because it exists on the outside; and has consistent employees\management.Over the time we have booked rooms here, we have stayed in their bungalows and now on this trip we upgraded to the Home which were much more expensive.They say they give you complimentary breakfast, it’s just a table of meats sitting on a table full of flies. The services at Hilltop restaurant is non existent; they are always understaffed and what comes out of the kitchen always takes forever. They could have brought it out on 4 plates, but it came out a la cart on 20 plates; and they screwed up most of the food they brought out to the table. Over the last few years it has been worse and worse; the first time we had Hilltop you could get excellent breakfast plates and speciality drinks. The menu was extensively then. Now it’s just 4 items on the menu, and everything you ask for is an extra side. Do not go to Hilltop until they fix the service there. The pool up there also needs work; there is deferred maintenance there; and it’s a shame they’ve lost the will to care for their property.When we came back to our room after a day out doing activities; we found the door to our home wide open; their house keeping left everything in our room wide open to whomever wanted to walk into our stuff. We didn’t have to open any door or lock to get access to everything in our room; it was wide open. The air conditioning was shut off after we left it on; and the house was hot; which takes a while to cool down.The water pressure in our room was terrible; and that has not always been the case; but now it’s an issue for sure. It’s like taking a shower in a campsite or motorhome; it’s pretty non-luxurious. Don’t expect much in the bathroom department; the sink in the masters have no counter top or anyplace to store your toiletries; so if you wanted to use any of your stuff; good luck.You get this general feeling they are trying to squeeze any penny they can out of his place; they don’t lift a finger or put any effort\money back into this place. There is a lot of deferred maintenance and you can tell they have skimped everywhere. Just the toilet paper is the cheapest you can find; it will rip you up. House was not as clean as it could be; outdoor areas were not prepped for guests; and there was cockroaches on the deck upstairs and there was a house mouse that ran through the kitchen probably because they left our home wide open. So seems like they have done something to allow these gross things to happen here.The bedding is gross and smells. We had to insta-cart pillows and blanket from target that we picked up at the front desk. No Joke. Remember guys we are not staying here again. But if YOU are staying here remember to bring your own bedding, shower heads, bug\rat traps, tools to fix issues in the rooms. This is not a 4-5 star resort. This is a DIY resort.The keys to the home don’t open many of the doors on the property, so you feel locked out. You can’t get back to your house from many of the areas you have to use the garage key to walk thru the car paths. They didn’t think that one through.The service at the high end restaurant is pretty terrible. They have these managers hounding the staff micromanaging them; but they can’t do anything quick. Drinks take 45 mins to get from the bar; which is unacceptable, and food from the kitchen takes over a hour. Just to get the check looked like a very confusing mess that required a manager to overlook the waitress which seemed very unnecessary. Very inefficient staff, and management. You would think a restaurant\bar would focus on service and getting food\drinks out to the customers; and focus on customer service. It is the reverse.

Easter Brunch at Carneros was unforgettable! When we arrived we walked up to the Lobby to discover we were taking karts up to the restaurant! After a fun ride up the hill we discover this beautiful venue perfect for weddings or Easter Brunch! We got seated inside which was great to see the views. The pool and restaurant are usually only available to guests so this was a rare treat for sure. Every single staff member made my family feel welcomed and everyone went out of their way to get anything we needed. My family had a great time and well definitely be back again soon! We stayed at Carneros with our 3 months old infant. It’s very family friendly. Easy to navigate around with a stroller and the landscape is amazing.However, the bed is extremely uncomfortable. When the price is $1000+, you would expect the bed to at least match some regular price Inn. But no, it’s so hard and smells horrible (I believe it’s tobacco smell). As a nursing mom who’s so lack of sleep, I’m disappointed with the quality of the bed.Service and staff are very good! The farm and hilltop pool are very lovely! This place would be much better if you simply replace the mattress! How easy is that?

What a beautiful location and resort. Everything is fantastic . Used bikes and had a wonderful time exploring the area. The cabin/ cottage was perfect, enjoyed the rocking chair on the porch. Every detail is covered for a guest. Plant decor on the main entrance building is so creative. Gardens and chicken coop give the guest a feel of being on a farm. Cant wait to return. This resort is fun for the whole family.

We loved Carneros as our venue - we just had our wedding here a few days ago, and could not have asked for a more perfect experience.We selected this venue for the food (unbelievable quality for the number of people they are cooking for) and the flow of events. We loved the Arbor, where we did our ceremony, as well as the courtyard and ballrooms. The cocktails and wine were super tasty - you couldnt go wrong with anything, and even the default chairs were great. We were able to go until 12:30am, which is such a rarity in Napa.The staff was super friendly and accommodating as well. Everyone we worked with was super on top of it and professional. Jessica was super responsive, and the Carneros team gave us a ton of peace of mind. June is a beautiful time of year to get married here, since everything is blooming and stunning. You do need to stay on site, but that ended up working out perfectly with how the day played out!No venue in Napa is going to be cheap, but we think we got an amazing value for what we paid for our 175 guests (again, a rarity in Napa that they can accommodate this number of people). Would a million times do it over again here at Carneros, and we loved it so much! We would love to return and hope our other friends have their weddings here as well so that we can eat the food here again :)

This place never get old, amazing service, spectacular views and delicious food. The accommodations are second to none.This is always our go to for a weekend away. Love sitting on the patio with a few cocktails and listening to live music. They have a great little general store on property if you would like to take it back to your room. Salami, cheeses and wine? Can’t go wrong.The cottages are perfect. Great for a little peace. Stocked with everything you need. Including a refrigerated wine dispenser! The heated floors are great when you’re coming in from the outdoor shower. I don’t think I used the inside shower once. 😂If you’re looking to get away. Choose Carneros!

Overall just alright. The staff is really friendly and the spot is pretty. Just remember it’s outdoor patio set up so everything has bird poop, leaves, rust, and spiderwebs. I went and saw some other places that were similar price range and I should have just spent the extra $100 - $200 a night they were offering. A lot construction going on which they didn’t mention on there website till a couple of days before I arrived. Just double check other deals going on in different parts in napa before just jumping on this one. The place again is beautiful but for the price I would have rather pay even $300 more a night if I knew this place would be pretty much on remodeling face and everything outside didn’t look as pretty as the pictures.

This place is like tents on a dirt playground. Cheap construction cottages that they charge $2000 a night for and walls are as thin as paper. There was a big wedding on Sunday night it went until 3am. At around 2am I tried to call the front desk and no answer, they ask you to text so a half hour later the I texted to please have people who wrestling and screaming at 2:30qm to stop. No response, staff are poorly trained, the guy that was supposed to take us to our room couldn’t find it. I asked him to use his radio and call and ask. They try to be cute little Napa cottage, they fail miserable!

The grounds are so beautiful with thoughtful landscaping and detailed architecture. However, the service is atrocious, especially considering that our room cost a small fortune. Here is a list of the issues we encountered:- room service: my wife asked for food that was gluten free and diary free. After multiple transfers, they assured her that it would be. After an hour of waiting, she called back and they had forgotten to put in the order. After 20 more minutes, they served her a meal with gluten and dairy in it. After being nearly poisoned, she asked for a call from the manager to discuss how the food would be handled next time. No call ever came.- The resort has golf carts that can take you across campus since it is so large. We were attending a wedding and I called and asked for a golf cart. They stated that they had just had in influx of guests for a wedding and didnt know how long it would take. I said that I had to be at the wedding in 10 minutes, so I would walk if they couldnt do it in 10 minutes. They said not to walk, it was too hot. I asked if they could do it in 10 minutes and they said they didnt know. I said not to bother then because I still had to be on time. They then immediately brough a golf cart that could not carry all 5 of us, then left and brought two.- Jets on hot tub not working. Called to ask about getting fixed. Said they would send someone. 2 days later, no one ever came.- shower was making an annoying noise. Called to see if they could fix it. 2 days later, no one ever came.- At the wedding we accidentally left a tote bag we had with kid entertainment stuff. Called and asked if they had it or had a lost and found. They said they would email housekeeping. I explained we were leaving in a couple hours, and would they really get and respond to an email in a couple hours? They said yes. Auntie found the bag. Got a call back while at airport 5 hours later.It was one broken promise after the next due to poor procedures, poor communication, and never having a manager or a responsible person anywhere in sight. Considering that this is supposed to be a premier wedding venue, I would have thought they would make an effort with the hotel side of things. Amazing level of either apathy or incompetence. Great place for an event but do not spend the money to stay here.

Would give 7 stars if I could. Absolutely stunning grounds and the cottages are adorable, well appointed and come with some pretty cool features: Thank you heated bathroom floors! The staff could not be any nicer and you can tell that they truly want you to enjoy your entire experience. The spa is beautiful (we had a couples massage) and its located right by the adult only pool which has stunning views. Though there arent yet a lot of plants based options for dining, just ask your server what would would for a vegan and they will make recommendations to you (you MUST have the V Cake at FARM!!!). Lots of greenery as they grow their own herbs and veggies, fun outdoor games (corn hole, giant chess, bocce) and other activities. Great for couples (cottages), friends staying together (suites) and they even have 3000sq ft+ homes on site to rent. No request is silly and they are all obviously great at what they do!

They treated us like royalty! Beautiful estate! Fantastic restaurants! The best spa! They have Cadillac SUVs that you can check out for use if you dont rent a car. We stayed in a cottage with our own private back patio. It had a gas fire pit and a tub for 2! Absolutely loved it here!

We’ve stayed at Carneros probably a dozen times over the decade and it’s always been a favorite. You can’t beat the grounds and charm. However we were very disappointed with the quality now for the price - no updates in 10+ years. The hill top hot tub wouldn’t be acceptable at a Hampton Inn much less a $1500+ a night resort. It’s disgusting. The tile is broken, it’s dirty and rusty, discolored and needs to be replaced. The mattress in our room was very old and had dip and valleys from years of use. Not a comfortable sleep. There were ants and human hairs all over our room, in the shower and the bed. Room was warn with dented, dirty walls and chipped furniture. TVs and room tech is very dated and needs replacement. Maybe acceptable for a $300 hotel but not for Carneros. Service was lovely and food and spa is great but really feels like ownership is squeezing blood from a rock trying to maximize profit without bothering to do needed updates. Sad that a favorite is loosing charm and status that could so easily be addressed with small updates.

My wife and i just stayed here for our Honeymoon and i must say we were pretty disappointed. There is absolutely no way this hotel should be anywhere near the $1,500-$1,600 that they charge per night. The cottages are nice and the property is on an impressive piece of land, but the service and amenities you get is that of a 3-4 star hotel.For example, the hotel we stayed at a few days before Carneros (also in CA) charged us $1,200 a night and included: all (amazing) food was included, daily 2-hour happy hour was included, activities around the resort were included, valet parking and the mini bar in each hotel room was included (not $25 for a smores set like Carneros). Secondly, when we showed up at this resort they greeted us by congratulating us on our honeymoon and as soon as we got to our room there was a bottle of champagne and fruit basket as well as a hand written note form the manager for us.Alternatively, at Carneros when you show up, first of all there is no Valet parking, secondly the staff was disheveled and not particularly friendly. Also, they do not have Tesla chargers (only standard electric vehicles) which i found shocking. Another disappointing aspect of the hotel was that when we showed up to the pool there was literally no place for us to sit as everything was either reserved or taken. As guests of a $1,600 a night hotel you would hope to have at least 2 seats available to you. Lastly, part of the pool area was under construction completely blocking the would be beautiful view of the vineyards. Lastly, on the last day of our stay, our room was never cleaned even though we requested it at the front desk.If this hotel was $500-$600 a night i would understand the cost and service, but for what we paid i honestly feel like we were ripped off and should get part of our money back. You are better off paying the same price for some of the best 5-star resorts in the Napa area such as the Alila, Meadowood or even the Four Seasons.

Didn’t meet my expectations based on the hype. Food was adequate but nothing special. English muffins were so tough and chewy it was serious work to cut them. Hash browns were puckery too salty. Most disappointing was service especially when service people almost equal the diners. Two tables who came in after us were offered menus long before we were. No refills were offered during the whole meal. I was curious about Boon Fly Cafe but we won’t be going back.

Absolutely incredible!!! This was our fourth stay here and each time we visit were reminded of why we always choose this place over any other. We can stay wherever we want. We choose Carneros because from the moment you arrive until you drive away you’re treated like the resort belongs to you. All smiles. Everyone acknowledges you. Our stay was truly incredible. Here are the details:Arrival-- we arrived at the resort with the clothes on our backs, thanks to the airline for losing our bags. We were promptly greeted by Lindsay and other folks in the registration office and handed a welcome glass of wine. (which was much needed) Lindsay was knowledgeable and willing to answer our first-timer questions and immediately made us feel at home. We were given all the details necessary and escorted by Soo to our cottage. Soo walked us through everything and showed us all of the amenities of our home for the week. She noted a couple of things that werent correct and someone came to fix them immediately, like minutes after she left.Cottage-- our cottage was perfect for what we were there for and that was relaxation, with a side of working remotely. Bedding was clean and comfortable, as well as other present linens. The bathroom floors are geothermal heated, which is a game changer when you never have to step on cold tile! The backyard was definitely our favorite part. The fire pit was lovely at night, as well as the outdoor tub and shower. It felt like a backyard oasis!Resort-- one word: beautiful. walking around the resort was amazing, nothing was too far from our cottage and the weather was fantastic so we were happy to explore. It was also communicated to us that if at anytime we needed a ride we could call and a golf cart would escort us anywhere we needed to go. Our favorite spot was the Hilltop Cafe and pool. The view is incredible and the service at the pool was fantastic. The hot tub and pool are available 24hours. Our experience with concierge was also great. We were able to book amazing dinners and tastings, thanks to the suggestions!Food-- We tried all of the options: Hilltop Cafe, Marketplace, Boon Fly, Farm, and in-cottage dining. As such I think I can say with certainty that the food here is top notch. The veggie omelet from Hilltop was fresh and excellent. Marketplace is grab-n-go format and a great place to grab some snacks. The donuts from Boon Fly were fresh and soooo yummy! Farm is the fine dining option-- the service was awesome and the space is so beautiful. We also loved the food, the only downside was the portions...because everything was so delicious. :) Our in-cottage dining arrived hot and as if we were sitting in a restaurant.Spa-- we had massage treatments at the spa that were lovely. The weather was so beautiful that the door to the room was open to the outdoors so I could hear the wind and birds outside...I was so relaxed that I fell asleep!Bag issue-- even though the lost baggage wasnt the resorts problem, they were very keen on making sure that we didnt want for anything else during our stay because of this issue. We were away at dinner when the bags were delivered and they coordinated with the driver to make sure everything was in-hand.I know this is a long review, but I want to be clear that this is a very special place that I think everyone should have the opportunity to visit. Even though our visit started out a little bumpy due to lost bags, we only have good memories from our vacation and cant wait to visit again!

It was definitely one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed, and our cottage was one of the most comfortable accommodations we have ever experienced. It was a dream vacation with my husband and our dog. The grounds are extremely well-kept and everywhere you go around the resort there is something new and beautiful! We especially loved individual outdoor space of the cottage, with chaise lounges, a dining table, outdoor fire pit, and the outdoor shower and bath. Our chicago dog was very happy to be able to relax outside in January for a change! And as a side note about dogs, this was one of the most dog-friendly places we have ever visited, so if you’re planning to travel to Napa with your pup, we would highly recommend staying here! We stayed in the private cottages and had numerous issues including: toilets not flushing and needing repair, both water heaters in one of the cottages broke down making a hot shower an impossibility. To their credit, they tryed to repair these things and even comped us with one dinner and a free night of lodging. But at a price point of over 2000 dollars per night, the basic necessities like hot water and working toilets are a must. Would not stay here again because of these issues.

I spent 3 nights here when visiting wineries and Sonoma Speedway, the room was spacious and secluded with real fire place, the pool area nice and big but nowhere to hide from the sun but the flimsy smallish umbrellas, no trees around. This review is specifically for the restaurant FARM. Table for two after a day of wine tasting in St Helena. We ordered a gin based cocktail and had the farm salad, the truffle tagliatelle, the lamb, and the duck. The cocktail was very good. The salad was average. The tagliatelle was delicious! The lamb and duck were very mediocre. The veggies in these meat dishes were very random and too acidic, so didnt really go that well. There was also a 1 hour delay between our salad and the next course for some reason, likely because they had to serve a large table which threw off their pacing. They did not do anything to compensate for the wait which was a bit surprising given how much we paid for the meal. Although we were not in a rush, I think this tainted the experience because I had not eaten anything significant for about 8 or 9 hours after a full day of wine tasting and at that point I only had one cocktail, a small portion of salad, and bread. Overall the service was still quite good, and the ambience was wonderful, but dont think Id come back. I would give it a 3.5 stars. There are many other better places in the area to try for your moneys worth. Probably a great option if youre actually staying at the resort.

A Cautionary Tale : Beware of staying at Carneros InnMy husband and I checked into Carneros Inn on 12/27 for a 2-night stay, expecting a relaxing getaway. The landscaping appeared unkempt, with overgrown bushes obstructing pathways and landscape lighting.Despite our initial impression of the surroundings, our room, Cottage Rosemary #4, provided a comfortable retreat. However, our stay was overshadowed by an unfortunate incident on the last night.On our way back from enjoying the hot tub near the spa area, we encountered a serious safety issue. The stone stairs leading to our cottage were inadequately lit, posing a significant hazard. None of the integrated lighting fixtures worked, leaving us navigating in darkness. I tripped and fell, resulting in a fractured ankle.The aftermath of the fall has been arduous. I spent the following day at urgent care. I learned the extent of my injury—a fractured ankle requiring a month of immobility. The impact on my daily life, particularly as a parent of three, in a 2 story home, has been profound. Moreover, the lack of follow-up or concern from the hotel staff was disappointing. Despite the severity of the incident, no one reached out to inquire about my well-being.My recovery journey has been challenging, marked by sleepless nights and ongoing discomfort. The incident at Carneros Inn serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of prioritizing guest safety and maintaining adequate lighting and maintenance standards. Its disheartening that my first visit to the hotel ended in such a manner, tarnishing what could have been a memorable stay. As I look ahead to future travels, I hope that others can learn from my experience and prioritize safety above all else.In light of this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Carneros Inn to fellow travelers. We went there for my parents 50th Anniversary. The first thing we saw upon getting out of an awesome shuttle we booked ahead of time was a gerbil rooting around in a tree root. I dont know if they are wild or somebody wasnt felling it. The entry was satisfactory and the intake process was grand. I liked the setup. It was linear back to the bathroom. They had an outside shower, but I forgot to try it. There is a small courtyard/patio/atrium/grassy mole/outside area attached to each cottage. We spent some time out there at our parents cottage.While eating at the Farm, a restaurant that flanks the check-in area, there was an electrical outage due to a car crash that took out a transformer down the way. We didnt get the main course for this reason, just salad and cold desserts. They were apologetic and we werent unhappy, but other customers were. What can they do in that situation? The power was back on a couple of hours later, but another outage happened the next morning. They had something akin to outside shuffleboard but it had rained and they hadnt installed any drains in the alleyways supporting that game.

My wife and I stayed at Carneros Resort from July 11 through July 14 and could not have had a better experience. We were there to celebrate a special occasion, and from the moment we stepped on the property we were pampered and treated with the utmost care. Our check-in was seamless, and my wife felt so comfy and cozy that she took pictures of the interior of the lobby, hoping of replicating that feel with similar colors and bookshelves in our home living room.After checking in, our bellman helped us with our bags and gave us simple instructions on how to light the inside fireplace as well as the outside firepit. He advised us to call if we needed anything, including another ride anywhere on the property. Shortly after we entered our room, there was a knock on the door: the resort had sent us a fine bottle of sparking wine from the nearby Domaine Carneros Winery to celebrate our special occasion. As my wife and I sat outside by the firepit in the afternoon sun sipping our California sparkling wine, we knew this was going to be a fabulous stay.Since we had been to Napa before and did the winery-hopping thing, this time we planned to spend more time at the resort, and the experience was outstanding. To begin with, the grounds of Carneros Resort are magnificent. Situated between Napa and Sonoma, Carneros Resort is like an oasis in fields of gold. Throughout the property, the grounds and landscaping are beautifully manicured, with a wide variety of different flowers, trees, and bushes growing, and of course, grapes. The mornings were cool and dry, so we would wake up, put on a light jacket, and walk over to the market to grab a couple of cups of Bulletproof coffee for our before-breakfast nature walk of the resort. After finishing our morning coffee, we’d walk over to the Boon Fly Café where the service was excellent, just as it was throughout the resort. Our breakfast highlights included the chicken and waffles, pancakes, and jalapeno eggs benedict.After breakfast we’d go and rest in our room as we waited for the sun to come out so we could head to the pool. Calling our room a “room” is an understatement. What we really had was our own exclusive cottage, where we couldn’t tell how occupied the resort was because we were in our private accommodations. Our place was Sparrow 5, and it included a sitting area with a tv and fireplace, a bed overlooking the outside patio (which was surrounded by a privacy wall), a wine dispenser with a local chardonnay and pinot noir, a bathroom with heated floors, a shower, and tub, and an outside patio with lounge chairs, a firepit, and an outdoor shower. The comfort and exclusivity of the place is just what we needed to rest and recharge. Although we were pampered throughout our stay, my wife took it a step further and went for a massage one morning and came back with a warm smile and a glass of white wine.The pool was so serene that we spent hours there, swimming, reading, and sleeping. After sitting in the sun for a bit, we would move over to an oversized lounge chair and relax under an umbrella. The service was once again, excellent, keeping our water filled and suggesting drinks based on our taste, such as the Out of Office, to go with our chips and hummus.Perhaps our most enjoyable time was sitting outside one of the resort’s restaurants, FARM, and enjoying drinks and oysters while listening to live music. It felt like one of the first times that we were ‘back to normal’ as people were enjoying life, laughing, drinking, and playing bocce ball. It is hard to beat a Napa sunset, a slight breeze, and craft cocktails with your significant other as the acoustic guitar player softly serenades his listeners.To sum it up, the Carneros Resort staff and property get a perfect 10, and I look forward to returning the next time we want to rest, recharge, and be pampered.

Cant think of what to add to make this place more bucolic. Casual luxury in a perfect setting. UPDATE: 3 years later (and post change of ownership to Flynn Properties) This resort is as wonderful as I remembered. The grounds are so beautiful, that it is a joy to simply stroll around and soak in the ambiance. The esthetic of the property is manicured but rustic elegant. But the best highlight is the level of service. Every single staff person extends themselves to make each guest feel oh so welcome. It is very apparent that the staff is well trained, because such consistently gracious service does not happen without a management team dedicated to customer service. I spent four days at the property, enjoying the room, the fitness center, and the hilltop pool. The only less than perfect experience was our breakfast at The Hilltop Dining Room (omelet was like butter soup, rest of plate was blah), but even with mediocre food, the server was most welcoming. We cant wait to return.

What a great way to vacation quarantine style. You get your own little cottage that you drive up to, so no shared elevator space. Roomservice was very tasty and served right up to your room. I read a comment about a poor selection of food but I liked the options (American style food). You can view the menu on the website. You have a porch, back patio with fire pit and outdoor shower and tub. The whole resort is perfect for sipping wine outside and enjoying the view. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. Oh and theres a wine dispenser in the room! Went for a small honeymoon and was not disappointed. Highly reccommend! Also, I thinks its dog friendly. I recently stayed at Carneros, and for the price, this hotel lacks customer service and attention to detail. Its the epitome of Napa arrogance and over priced for the poor service. I highly recommend you consider other places in the Napa region.Concierge: I reached out to the concierge several times for help in arranging some tasting, and never received a response from my multiple emails. After multiple calls and emails, I finally got a response two days before my arrival, which ended in a miscommunication and a bill for a private driver of $1,200 that I was not expecting. The hotel arranged the private driver with my credit card details without providing me a quote in writing.Front Desk: Youll be lucky if the front desk does anything more than ask you for your drivers license and credit card.Housekeeping: Housekeeping forgot to service my room one day, left melted ice cream on the patio from the previous guest the entire 5 nights I was there, and failed to tell me that laundry service took approximately 48 hours.Pool: The pool staff often left napkins and tables dirty from the night before. After sitting in one of the cabana areas midday, we asked the pool staff to clean off the tables that were covered in cake from a birthday party the night before. Mine got hysterical over the bread offerings and kept whispering for more. Cant say I blame them.The grounds are gorgeous too. I want to start this review by noting that this was the nicest accommodation we have ever rented. We were welcomed with a glass of wine while we checked in. Our bungalow was then a short drive down a gated road. Our private back yard had a raised stone fire trough, some tables for outdoor meals, beach style reclining deck chairs for sunning during the day or star gazing beneath the overhead hear lamps at night, an open air soaking tub, and a shower with a nearby door leading to the interior bathroom. The bathroom had heated tile flooring for a warm post shower exit. The bungalow was a five minute walk from the top of the hill with the pool overlooking the nearby valley, a poolside restaurant and bar, the spa, and the infinity jacuzzi. Poolside drink service went until around 7:00. Our 1.5 hr massage melted away my worries and the steam sauna afterwards is an excellent way to soften up the skin for a good shave. We enjoyed both on site restaurants on different nights, but my favorite part was at the end of the night. Sitting in the dark and watching the sky while relaxing in a hot bath in our private back yard was a wonderful way to lose oneself in total relaxation. The concierge here set up our winery tour and arranged the car for us. When the driver failed to show up on time, the concierge then called ahead for us to modify our schedule at each winery so that we didnt have to worry about it. I am very satisfied with our stay here. For their cleanliness, friendliness, attentiveness, professionalism, and attention to detail I would happily recommend this resort to anyone visiting Sonoma.

My only complaint with them is that the room cleanliness and maintenance has slipped a little. The door handle on my bathroom was broken along with the toilet paper holder. My husband and I stayed here in a Harvest Cottage for one night for our anniversary from October 16th-17th. The room was clean, bed was super soft, heated tile flooring in the bathroom were an unexpected plus, and not too many people out and about. Everyone seemed to be wearing masks and properly socially distancing, which was something we were worried about. We hardly came in contact with anyone aside from during check-in. We were pleasantly surprised to find the pools open 24/7, and went for a swim around 8pm to find it completely empty and relaxing.Our only complaints would be that the porch seemed like it hadnt been swept or cleaned recently as there were leaves in the tub and on all the chairs and ground, and the food should have been way better quality for the very expensive price paid. However, we highly recommend the dozen donuts on the breakfast cottage dining menu, theyre reminiscent of Trishs Mini Donuts from Pier 39, which are to die for.

Our first couple of nights were at the Cabral cabins, with a garden view, the cabin is super small but the amazing french doors and flowing white curtains, wooden private deck and garden area totally make up for it. And the service was impeccable.I would have given this resort 5 stars had there not been a couple obvious things not on point.We travel a lot, and especially in an area like this where everything is very spread out, the resort almost MUST have a private car that leaves the property: Taking its guests to dinner reservations, drop offs at nearby wineries. Im not saying take guests to San Fran but a little flexibility would be nice. This isnt something too much to ask for as most if not all of the beautiful hotels we have stayed at, for the same price, have had a house car, or two, or three.The second observation that has kept me from giving this resort 5 stars is genuine kindness. The front desk is nice, but seem to be trying really hard and also seem fake, its a little snooty. A little uncomfortable making it difficult to approach them with questions. You never know who the guests are, where they come from, or where they have been, therefore treating everyone with sincere, kindness is a must.Finally third! The hotel sits right next to the why, and yes unfortunately you can definitely hear it, very well. Its not terrible but its there.Overall I would definitely recommend this very beautiful, hotel to anyone and everyone! No resort is perfect, and these small issues that I observed wont keep me from coming back, this is a little piece of heaven.

Carneros Resort & Spa is just stunning. Stayed here as part of a girls weekend and we were blown away. The property itself is impeccable - the olive trees, landscaping, and layout makes it feel so private; like youre nestled in. The pool, spa & restaurant at the top of the hill has just great views of lush hillsides, with cows walking by and colorful hot air balloons floating in the air. The restaurant off the lobby is beautiful as well with a cozy bar area and a great outdoor space with firepits. Its just luxurious - not in your face, but calming, clean, airy. We stayed in a couple of cottages which were adorable - plenty of space despite the 5-6 girls in each one. Outdoor and indoor fireplaces, candles everywhere just made it so delightful during January! Private hot tubs were awesome. We even loved the eucalyptus shower spray in each shower! Every detail was thought of - robes, slippers; great smelling soaps, shampoos, lotions; comfortable beds; every utensil you could need in the drawers. Cozy blankets on the couches. The food at the resort was amazing - at both restaurants and they had a good amount in the market as well. Just overall this place made our girls trip to Napa. We only made it to 3 wineries because we just wanted to get back to our cottage each day!

The facilities, Farm Restaurant and Cottages have always been nice, but the service was the worst experience ever. My wife and I had a truly great experience at the spa and our dinner at The Farm was incredible but our room service and cleaning were terrible...and when we mentioned our dissatisfaction the management seemed completely disinterested. We wont be going back...sad, because as I said, it was one of our favorites.

We stayed here for a quick getaway this past weekend, which was also the first weekend the hotel has been open since the COVID pause. The hotel grounds are beautiful, the pool view is breathtaking, and the room at first glance is a little slice of heaven. I really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars, trust me... after paying as much as I did I REALLY wanted to give the hotel 5 stars. However, considering this hotel has been open for as long as it has, there was a large amount of gaps identified during our stay.1. Our room included the romance package, which comes with a bottle of wine. We called advising we have not received our bottle and was told one would be on the way. Never received it.2. We called again (over 5 hours later) asking if our bottle had been delivered and maybe we had not seen it. Finally someone came into the room and dropped it off.3. We didnt have a trashcan in our room the entire stay. We advised the gentleman who delivered our bottle we were missing a trashcan, he noted that we did not have one and said he would bring us one. We never got that trashcan and had to use our boon fly cafe to-go bag as the trashcan our entire stay.4. Our outdoor shower door would not close. My husband had to hammer down the nail which was preventing the door from closing.5. Never received our hotel invoice, we had to call days later requesting it be emailed to us.6. We ordered from boon fly cafe, it took over an hour (quoted 30 mins) to receive our cold pizzas. Since it was late, we didnt even bother complaining and ate our cold pizza in our expensive hotel room.Given this hotel costing a pretty penny, these issues are unacceptable considering this is not a brand new hotel. I personally wouldnt stay here again. You are better off staying at Solage in Calistoga, which is the same price.Given all of the issues we experienced during our visit, Alice at the front desk deserves 5 stars. She was super accommodating and professional. Made the check-in process as easy as possible.

Asked for towels and never got any. Service was lacking at hilltop restaurant, pool very dirty and staff was non committed. Truck, maintenance and highway noise was horrible. We were awakened at 5:30 AM. Ruined the whole next day in the valley due to being exhausted. You get an amazing bungalow to stay in with great amenities on a huge property with an incredible adult pool. The family pool is ok, it is trapped in between buildings and gets loud and there is no view. Very opposite of the adult pool. Loved this place!

Beautiful resort with stunning views. Luxurious cottages with indoor outdoor living. Bedroom opens to private courtyard with chaise lounges, fountain, outdoor tub and heaters for chilly evenings. Bathroom was also very well done, heated floors, large shower and jet tub. Restaurants were also excellent. Very impressed, will stay again.

This is a fantastic resort. My experience here has been in a service capacity when patrons of the resort have ordered massage via the Zeel app. As I understand there are on site spa services to take advantage of as well, yet by being a zeel therapist, which brings massage direct to your room, Ive been able to experience several different environments on site and all are fantastic. The clients have nothing but good things to say about it and the grounds are quite lovely. Ive also known of several weddings occurring here. I live close and have not personally stayed on site, but from what I can tell, you wont be disappointed if you do.

Came to carneros for a wedding. A beautiful place that Is built to be a large compound secluded from the rest of Napa. Service was impeccable and food at the Hilltop Dining Room was great for a wedding menu. Drinks were stiff, but bartenders dont know how to mix cocktails well like an old fashioned or Manhattan. Rooms are great in that they block off a section for you even with a few suites rented out. The indoor and outdoor showers were fun. definitely worth a visit again.

Stopped in to try and speak with reception to get info about a current already paid for reservation. Would not let me in the gate. Really went out of my way to get here and grab a sneak peak of the resort before my honeymoon in May. Incredibly disappointed.Just cancelled my reservation in fact... You dont treat customers like that. Ill spend my hard earned dollars (3K) with folks that will appreciate them.

Beautiful property - terrible management (loved valets and housekeeping, though). Most staff just overwhelmed and MIA. They need to completely rethink staffing, staff training, check in, restaurants... When you are paying north of 1K a night, the staff best be both sufficient and on it. We were definitely frustrated almost daily.

Didnt stay or utilize any of the Carneros Resort facilities but from what I could see I wouldnt have any hesitation to. I was driving home and I had seen the Boon Fly Cafe many times when passing. When we arrived the friendly staff in the reception area gave us a glass of wine and took care of all of our administrative items quickly. The property has two beautiful pools. One is geared towards family fun. Stocked with tons of floaties and toys - your kids and adults who are kids at heart will have a blast. They serve complimentary fresh squeezed lemon-aid, or if you prefer, you can order snacks and drinks. Nice Jacuzzi. Excellent gym. They have organized Yoga, Boot Camps classes or private training sessions. The spa is fabulous. The second pool overlooks the undisturbed farmland and nearby vineyards. The restaurants, Farm and Boonfly, have excellent food. They also have a small self-service Market. The house we stayed in was first class. The floors in the bathrooms were heated with shower and a very large bath. Pedestal sinks flanked the bath. The entire place was decked out with Waterworks, Restoration Hardware, and Design Within Reach products. The kitchen had only the best, Wolf, Sub-Zero, Siemens. It was like visiting a home out of Dwell magazine. The upstairs has a beautiful gazebo like area that overlooks the property. Its a beautiful place.

While wine tasting through Sonoma and Napa on a Saturday, we stopped at the Boon Fly Cafe for late lunch. We waited a few minutes for a table and watched the open kitchen put up some really tempting plates. Staff seemed on their game and pleasant. Dining room was busy however neighboring conversations didnt overpower, high ceilings I guess. They nailed the hip roadhouse atmosphere with a busy bar, and continuous tray of something being delivered to tables. Our Mid-Day (3pm-5pm) menu offered lighter fare. Something to counter the afternoons libations without blowing dinner. Salads, flatbreads and several sandwiches. We had 1) Mixed Greens with smoked chicken offered with the Caesar. 2) BLT with fries. and 2 orders for the Margherita Flatbread. Everyone kinda cross-forked each others plate. Salad greens and vegetables were fresh and crisp, with a nice red wine vinaigrette. Flatbreads were classic Margherita and delicious! Crispy thin with a little sauce, cheese and sausage. The BLT was another classic kicked up a notch with toasted sourdough bread! We finished quickly and felt relaxed enough to sit and talk about the days events without being rushed. 5-STARS for ambience, offerings and staff. Party of 4, before tip: $80. Getting back onto the highway though was a bit frustrating. Definitely will be back!

Boon Fly is a great little spot for bruncb. The waits can be long, but they have benches, swings, and shaded lounge chairs where you can relax after grabbing a beverage from the bar. Parking is usually not a problem.

I was debating staying at the Calistoga Ranch, but opted for this.... The entrance of the hotel is not as magical as Calistoga Ranch but it is bright and open and perfect for a sunny hot weekend. Its a little far from St Helena but a beautiful drive. Hotel is kid friendly but kids are not allowed at the pool if that is a consideration for some.I travel - ALOT - and this was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The cottages are really well appointed, and the indoor outdoor shower flow is great. I will definitely be staying here again.
