I love our library! Needed a book, but the Kindle price was kinda high, so I checked the Sac Library website. It wasnt in stock near me, so I placed a hold. They sent it from Elk Grove to this branch. I received a notice when it came in, and I was able to pick it up. What a fantastic service.Bonus: The Friends of the Library has a few shelves of books for purchase. I was able to buy several paperbacks for our Little Free Library for 25 cents a piece. Score!

Its a GREAT library! You can barrow 60 items!!! At once! INCLUDING Books, Comics, CDs, Audiobook CDs, Movies, board games, AND even Video Games!!! They have a nice play area for kids with toys and what not. A nice lounge for the teenagers with a beanbag and board games and books. And so much more its amazing!!! I HIGHLY recommend coming here!! Perfect for any age.

Too loud and noisy to be considered a library for me. Noise level is about the same (if not louder than) a bookstore. People here are not mindful about utilizing their quiet/whispering voices and its extremely difficult to focus on reading.The children I came across knew how to keep their voices low better than some of the adults here. This is not my usual library and I was hoping to stop by for a quick trip to check out some books for my son since we were in the area.Thankfully, there was a self-check out area so I didnt have to speak with any of the staff (so I cant really comment on friendliness and/or helpfulness).My son noticed the lego table and the two computers in the childrens area and wanted to stay longer to play [quietly] so we stayed for about 30-45 minutes so he could play and I could read, after we checked out our books. There were these two chatterbox of women standing in the childrens section blabbering their mouths off in outside voices that were so distracting, we might as well have been in a coffee shop instead.As its a public place and Im just another visitor, I dont want to be the person that enforces library rules so I moved to the opposite side of the library to read.We didnt stay for long. Ive been to this library before years ago and every trip had been unpleasant.Id recommend the Arden Dimick library if you actually want a quiet place to read where everyone whispers and understands common courtesy at a library (including the children).

A decent sized library, most of the library assistants that helped me have been kind & helpful. I constantly check out their hot spots & their state park passes when available & and its super easy to do.However, if you want a peaceful place to be in, this is NOT the place for you. Screaming kids, phones ringing, people talking on said phones, anything noisy happens in here. Bring your sound canceling headphones/ear plugs if you own them.Also I give credence to a previous comment about a certain librarian being racist. My partner and I (he is white I Asian) were up late arnstudying the previous night so we start dozing off in the chairs. I got woken up very rudely with this librarian yelling in my face YOU CANT SLEEP IN THE LIBRARY! While she tapped my bf on the arm telling him no sleeping in the library.This is the only library Ive been in where they will wake you up & will make the security guard wake you up. Making stupid assumptions about people without trying to understand or just mind your own business if theyre not snoring.

I love the library online options and use it frequently, but today I wanted some specific reference reading materials and went in person. Great experience right from the start with help from friendly, knowledgeable staff. The library was clean and well organized and I was surprised at how busy they were. Lots of people of all ages and interests. This interest keeps librarys open!

This place opened up yesterday and my kids and I had such a blast actually browsing physical books!! Its such a better experience than the online catalog. The place was clean and all precautions taken.

I just sign up at this library, they have many books on all of different kinds of topics. Also many computers available you can work on it or you can bring your laptop, free and fast Wi-Fi Internet. All you have to do is just sign-up and get library card.P.S. when you walk in there is DMV machine that you can use it to pay your car registration “Registration Renewal System”.

Have visited this library in scrubs and without and the difference in treatment is horrifyingly unjustifiable. Robin has a strong micro aggressive racist attitude towards black people. When I called her out and told her she was rude she wanted to act surprised. I’ve dealt with this lady plenty of times. She does change the respect level when I am dressed in my medicinal work scrubs versus my street clothes. It’s 2023 and no one should be made to feel less than a human when visiting a library. Disgusting how she played victim when she is displaying micro aggressions.

The Carmichael library is a wonderful resource in the Carmichael area. There are computers, a childrens book section, a teen section, dvds, comfortable seating to relax, a friends of the library section to purchase books and the most important a friendly and helpful library staff to answer questions and help with check out (there is also self check out stations). Carmichael library also has different outreach programs that might suit your needs. I encourage people to stop in and take advantage of your library system.

Who doesnt love a good library? This is presently my second favorite of the Sacramento County Libraries (second only to the main I Street location). The kids section here is large. There are lots of computers and a pretty cool teen lounge. Everyone who works here is friendly. I love the California Histroy section in the back but there are also extensive fiction AND non-fiction selections. They also have plenty of Manga and graphic novels and DVDs for rent. Not to mention a rather large community room. They have lots of desks for doing quite work and more than enough cozy chairs for reading. Its pretty easy to while the day away here.

Nice library but they dont let you lay on the couches and relax. I thought libraries were a place to relax, especially when you have couches and there are barely any people there that day. Was waiting for a work meeting and decided to lay down due to pregnancy fatigue but they came and told me thats not allowed and asked if I would do that at a bar that had couches. I said yes and she laughed. I dont go to bars but if you have couches, then most likely people would want to relax on them. Confused.

The kids section is a little loud but luckily there are tables with lights and reading sofa chairs on the complete opposite end of the library. The parking lot has some pretty good trees to park in the shade with. Good and large DVD selection, including fiction, non-fiction, and children selections. Spacious, good air conditioning. Wi fi isnt lightning fast but its stable and good enough. You can check out 10 DVDs at a time for 7 days! Wow!

Finally a library branch with a LOT of books! nonfiction and fiction as well as research. Most branches offer more computers and other services than books. I am so delighted to find a library that matches my love to read physical books! The staff is courteous and helpful as well! THANK YOU CARMICHAEL LIBRARY!!!!!

Great library- good selection, clean, good kids section, and many events for the public. My only complaint is when I went to the reference desk for help tracking down childrens books on a certain subject. The librarian directed me to a kiosk of computers to use the digital catalog while I was hoping she would help me personally. Call me old school, but I enjoy speaking with the librarian and hearing her personal recommendations.

Every time after story time my daughter get sick. We loved caming to the story time, it is a lot of fun and after they are doing craft, this was the super cool but we just cant stay that there are always parens bring sick kids and after every time you have to recover from some colds or bugs. We wont be back and wont recommend this library .

Carmichael Library and the whole staff with volunteers included has been such a valuable story to share for all... I love it their with all my heart... My boss named Claudia is the best ever to me and everyone! What a valuable service i receive. I began volunteering then working on/call, part-time thanks to Claudia... Once i could stay for a total of 4 hours volunteering she hired me... It took me 4 years to work up to that amount... My injury suffered at the San Juan Unified School District left me 63% permanently disabled... I suffer chronic pain always! But i want to serve our Libraries out of gratitude for them letting me do something even if it is for a little while... I feel a sense of gladness to share my love serving others in need... God bless the Carmichael Library for their kind service to all patrons. Love Pam Brown

Iranian kids that come here are so dam disrespectful and so noisy. This 8yr girl was saying the F word and other comments that were not very nice. They act like they dont understand English or just playing ignorant. GRRR!!!

I love this library, Im always in the cook book section looking for new recipes. I was able to get some buisness done not just a few days ago. The library now has CA DMV machine as soon as you walk in, I was able to get my registration renewal sticker for 2020. Good variety of books to read; computer area is always peaceful, its always fun seeing smiles on peoples faces.

This library has been redesigned. Which is grear. But It is too noisy to study. This must be the new age of utilizing the library. This place has become a playground or play center for tiny tots. Their should have been a better or better design.

The library is ok. But they need to do some changes in it. First off the library needs to use the community room as a warming center for parents with kids and single parents to.at night in the winter time and a cooling center in the summer time. A shelter is what they need to have instead of using it to teach foriegn people to speak English. Make a positive out of it. Be a kind library and not a dumb library. I sure California would fund them for helping people.

I love the Carmichael Library! A very good and peaceful environment to read or do homework. Large selection of resources (computers, etc), lots of books and movies. They also have used book sales which I LOVE (you can buy books for great prices), and many community events are held here such as mock PSATs, movie showings, workshops, etc.
