I had a fantastic experience at Dr. Bunkers office while getting my dental implant.The team at Carmel Mountain Dentistry was incredibly helpful and accommodating. They went above and beyond to expedite my schedule so that I could complete my dental work before leaving San Diego. The staff were friendly, caring, respectful, and very responsive. Dr. Bunker and the staff at Carmel Mountain Dentistry are spectacular! I started seeing them after not seeing a dentist for a few years and everyone was kind, non-judgemental, and happy to get my dental health back on track. I recently had a filling done and the hygienists and Dr. Bunker were very gentle. The local anesthesic didn’t hurt at all! Thank you for making my trips to the dentist a pleasant experience!

I went for my first appointment and the team had me planned for just an initial exam and consultation. I thought I was there for a cleaning as well. They said sorry that is a follow up visit. I’ve had 2 deep cleanings so far with 2 different dental hygienist and both were excellent! They were so gentle and my teeth were so clean after. This is the best dentist, hygienists and office staff that I have ever experienced. Dr Bunker is very gentle, reassuring, compassionate, professional and effective. The hygienists and assistants are equally excellent. The office staff and front desk are wonderful and make it all as easy and enjoyable as possible. Everyone there gets my thanks and respect. I highly recommend these guys. I have special dental needs and concerns due to bruxism and these folks have taken it all in stride. I would give them 6 stars if I could.

Dr. Bunker and the staff at Carmel Mountain Dentistry are beyond amazing. Dr. Bunker was so kind and thorough when explaining my x-rays, and he did not push procedures onto me. He simply explained them, which I do appreciate. They were very quick when completing my four fillings, which by the way, they squeezed me in at the end of their work day (Thank you!). Andy at the front desk is a delight. Very sweet and easy to talk to. Check-in was a breeze and I barely had time to sit, as they called my name in a timely manner.The office exceeded my expectations. The staff was great getting me in to see the Dr. when my crown came off three days before leaving on vacation. I was able to get an appt. the next day and crown was put on efficiently and I was in and out within an hour. Dr. Bunker and his staff were very nice.

Revised after 10 years of being a patient of Dr. Bunkers, my last review was just after he took the practice over. Im a difficult patient, with a challenging set of teeth, and the attention span of a knat.I moved to downtown SD soon after first becoming a patient here, even though I detest driving, especially further than, oh, a mile. My only trek back to the 129 is to see my dentist. Ive learned to enjoy the views while driving, and pack snacks, water and emergency supplies. Why do I endure such a long, and trecherous journey? Since you asked, let me tell you:First, Dr. Bunker is an excellent dentist. Yes, there are many others with this classic trait, and Im sure some are closer to me. But along with his proficiencies he has the perfect blend of demeanor, care, and when asked; speed - which is very important to me. With all that, the work he does is always right the first time, Ive never had to come back. Ive also never once felt pain (other than that insanely long drive I make to see him). And I never have had to wait more than a couple minutes in reception, or the chair.So, reading this you must think it couldnt get better? Well, youd be wrong. The staff, led by Andi, is equally impressive. The clinical staff all follows Dr. Bs lead in patient care and kindness. The admin staff works really hard to make the scheduling work for us patients, and ensure you feel at home during all phases of the visit. Well, except the drive.Clearly, for 92129ers (including those living in 128, 126 and 064), theres no other choice for your dentistry. But Id also encourage my downtown neighbors, as well as comrades from further afar to share the same wonderful experiences I do, twice a year.So fill up your car (or charge the battery), dust off the driving gloves, and plan your rest spots in Mission Valley, Kearny Mesa and MIra Mesa for a one hour mini vacation at the posh Carmel Mountain Dentistry hacienda where youll relax in lie flat beds (just like those on Emirates) while sipping flouride from exotic green cups.Oh, and if you see my brother in as a patient (Accidently referred him to Dr. B), feel free to kick him and call him names. If you need some recommendations, try fat, and bald to start.

My husband and I were search of a new dentist due to being unhappy with the care at our previous dentist. A friend recommended Dr. Bunker and I am so relieved I followed through with switching. Dr. Bunker and his team are phenomenal! They were all so welcoming, friendly, and we immediately felt like we had been patients there for years with how comfortable Dr. Bunker made us feel. He took his time to address all my concerns. I never felt rushed or unheard. Our family of five (2 adults, 3 kids) all recently went to Carmel Mountain Dentistry and all had a really good experience there. Since we were all there at the same time, (the office put in the extra effort to accommodate my request to schedule appointments for us all in on the same day which made it so much more convenient for us!) we were seen by a few different hygienists and each one was great. Dr. Bunker himself is awesome. He is so friendly and instantly puts you at ease, explaining things clearly in a way that is easy to understand without being condescending, dosent shame you if its been too long since you have seen the dentist and need some work done (which we did) and he is very gentle (but still quick!) when working in your mouth. I was especially impressed with how well he did with our two youngest kids (ages 6 and 9). They really struggle with anxiety at medical appointments and I was worried they would freak out, but amazingly they sat quietly and didnt have any issues at all! Im sure that was due to having Dr. Bunker being so kind and patient with them and putting them at ease. This office is great for all ages, Im glad that we have found a dentist we can trust and have a good experience with!

I’ve never been the kind of person to enjoy the dentist, I believe most of us are in the same boat. I personally have not been to a dentist in close to 10 years prior to my appointment here at Dr. Bunkers office… Dr. Bunker has amazing bed side manor, he listened to my concerns, he was realistic with expectations and he seems to genuinely want what’s best for me. Ivy was by far the best dental hygienist I have ever had clean my teeth and she made it nothing but a pleasant experience and did not make me feel judged about the state my teeth were in, instead she made a goal for us and plans to follow through with that goal with me. All the office staff were incredibly pleasant and positive. Small wait before being called back but for the level of care… absolutely worth it! Best dental experience I’ve ever experienced by far!

The tell you first, when you laydown on the chair, you dont need to be worried. I would say all entire staff are welcoming, Andi front desk manager is so organized and quick, every thing is ready when you are done. the hygienist ( I wish I knew her name) who worked on my teeth was so gentle and very professional. I think I met Ven Dental assistant who fixed my temporary crown and permanent crown with Dr. Bunker are amazing team. I had two crowns and two filling in same day. I really like to say that if your teeth need necessary care they will fix it. they dont overcharge you. They really respect to your timing and schedule.Thanks all when I came out of office I was satisfied of result :)

I just moved to the area and I am so ECSTATIC that I found this office. Go look at their website. Dr Bunker is just as happy in person as he is in the website photos. The staff is smiling, happy, friendly and professional. I was extremely pleased with how I was treated. I was there for an Invisalign appointment but I decided to make this office my primary dental office for all my dentistry needs. I absolutely love this dentist and his personality. What a nice man. Due to a long, expensive, and very painful history of dental issues, I hate the dentist. That said, this group is great every time I come in. Regardless of my dour demeanor the staff and dentist are all warm and friendly. They make you feel like they see you as a human and not just a paycheck. I actually look forward to going to the dentist!I broke one of my front teeth this afternoon and called Dr. Bunkers office. They gave me an appointment for that afternoon and gave me a temporary crown (the tooth next to it had a chip so I requested a crown for that one as well). Dr. Bunker and everyone in his office are exceptional. I figured that I would have to make another appointment once they determined what need to be done but no, I got taken care of right then. I have never been disappointed with the care I receive from Dr. Bunker and the gifted hygienist that assisted Dr. Bunker and then prepared and put in the temporary crowns. I cant recommend Dr. Bunker highly enough, so you need to go find out for yourself. I guarantee that you wont be disappointed!

I retired recently and had to select a new dentist that accepted my Secure Hoizons dental plan. I had my first appointment with Carmel Mountain Dentistry today and was very impressed by Dr. Bunker and his staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. Dr. Bunker did a thorough exam and then explained how my new dental insurance worked for future treatments and cleanings. I have had a shizton of work done with this office so I can only assume Im their ideal patient review/referral. From cleaning, deep cleaning, extractions, bone crafts, bridges...obviously I have a lot of issues, they crush it every time. No one likes 4 hands in their mouth but if its got to get done, get it done here. They arent just top notch as in they do their job competently, but I genuinely like these people. The cleanings aren’t painful like so many other places I’ve been. Additionally, the staff (especially at the front desk) are extremely knowledgeable. I had a routine cleaning done today. Sara was friendly but focused. She did a thorough job cleaning and polishing my teeth and explaining each step as she went through it. Ive left some dental offices in the past with sore gums, but she did an exceptional job so that when I left my teeth felt clean without any soreness.My children both needed cleanings. They were a little apprehensive going in, but had no fears upon leaving. They especially enjoyed the visit to Dr. Bunkers Treasure Chest.I appreciated that Dr. Bunker was friendly and kind and put my kids at ease. I chose this dentist based on the reviews I saw on yelp and it’s not too far from where I work. Dr. Bunker was really friendly. He was always smiling and tried to make friendly conversation. For my first physical check up, I was a little sensitive to the poking he was doing to my gums. I had not seen a dentist in over a year and I’m the type of personal that’s easily sensitive. All he did was he wanted to determine if what he was seeing on my tooth was serious or mild. It turned out to be mild because I was not experiencing pain or discomfort in that area. He said that they’ll keep a close eye on it during my checkups but overall my teeth were healthy and just needed regular cleaning appointments. He thanked me for coming in to see him and walked me to the front desk to help schedule my next cleaning.The reviews you read on yelp on how Dr. Bunker is a nice dentist who shows he cares for his patients is accurate. I would recommend if you live in the area and are looking for a dentist who cares about his patients.FYI: you do sign paperwork stating that the services he provides is for the interest of your dental health. Him or his staff with notify you prior to beginning services of what the cost will be. They reiterate that you will be responsible for cost not covered by your insurance. That is standard for all dentists. At least Dr Bunker will inform you about these services prior so you can decide if it’s something you wanted to do or not.

I am a new patient of Dr. Bunker who was referred to me by my office mate. Dr. Bunker is a very nice dentist. He listens and make recommendations on how to treat you. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating. They all make you comfortable and I felt more relaxed going to the dentist. 15 years ago, I had four of my front teeth fixed with caps and veneers. Within a one-month period, one of the posts had fallen out, and another veneer had cracked leaving the front of my mouth looking like a James Bond villain.I called Carmel Mountain Dentistry and ask them to help. They immediately made an appointment for me for the following morning, and I went in being sure not to make eye contact or smile at anyone on my way there.When I got there the staff was incredibly friendly and worked out a financial arrangement for me that works with my immediate budget. For the next 4 hours they chipped away at my teeth and my follow-up appointment its only two weeks later.I recommend Carmel Mountain Dentistry to anyone and everyone whether it is a small tooth ache or a cosmetic overhaul like Im having done. My first experienced was not the best. I considered going back to my old dentist because of the wait at this location the first time around. The dentist assistant I had was 15 minutes late because she was getting her hair done and instead of getting me back she left again to go get Starbucks I didn’t end up in the chair till 30 minutes past my appointment time.The second time around was completely different though. Usually first one goes OK and then the second one is downhill from there.However I’ve now been to this office three visits and all three I’ve been pleasantly surprised by their customer service, professionalism, work product and the feeling of ease when there.I came in with major issues and needing a root canal and crown. Both Dr. Bunker and his dental assistant, Lylan, gave me no hassles no long lectures but helped me right away. I felt as if things were done quickly nicely and I have no complaints. I had an emergency ( broken front tooth) and had not established a dentist in the area yet. Based on Yelp reviews, I chose the top two rated dental practices near me. I called the one closest to me, and was told I would receive a call back from the new patient coordinator within a few minutes. I waited over an hour with no return call. I called the second one, Carmel Mountain Dentistry and explained my dilemma-after being placed on hold for a brief minute, I was told they could see me that afternoon. Less face it, no one likes going to the dentist but you can count on the fact that atCarmel mountain dentistry you will be served by extremely qualified and friendly staff along with the receptionists. The best part about Dr Bunker is that there is none or very little pain when given injections to “numb you up”. Yesterday I went in for a teeth cleaning but ended up with Dr Bunker doing prep for two crowns because he knew I needed them and so he queened me in. I was told that I probably need to rinse with warm salt water for possible discomfort, but after the annethesia wore off, I felt perfectly fine no pain whatsoever

So.. I took the appointment from them, went to take X-ray and do check up. The pricing was different on the phone and I had to pay double at the place. Luckily the amount was not much. I let it on since they offered cleaning free. But they are so lucrative in dealing that the doctor charged me a hefty sum for almost everything. Its been over a month now since I had my whitening done and I can say that its not that great, Ive used Zoom whitening multiple times before and this one was rushed and the results were not so good. I would not recommend this dental office at all as a first choice.

I had a consult with Smilecare Dentistry, and it was a pure rip-off. They had listed the same tooth extraction twice on the treatment plan, and even had a line item to deep clean the tooth to be extracted. So I went to Carmel Mountain Dentistry for a second opinion, and it was the best decision I could have made. Despite my insurance not being viable at Carmel Mountain Dentistry they created a treatment plan that cost basically the same as Smilecare, but included more services, on teeth that actually needed the attention, and much higher quality orthodontics. If youre looking for a caring, considerate, trustworthy dentist for yourself or your family, you cant go wrong with Carmel Mountain Dentistry.

Been going to see Dr Luban for a while now, i had a severe fear before of dentist (not a joke, an actual phobia) Dr. Luban the first day i met him took a look at me and told me it look like my teeth had been beaten up by the my former dentists.Though a little rushed at times (sometimes i actually like that, and i have noticed they usually are always busy) and sometimes impersonal, you never feel like your teeth and well being are not cared for. This is the most caring dentistry ive ever experienced im very glad i found it.
