Parking: free and plenty of spotsProbably the most beautiful public library in southern California. Its up there with Cerritos, Huntington Beach, and Los Angeles Central library. Has two floors. The young kid section is great. Has a room designed like a submarine, an area like a ship, an area with mosaic bench, and more. Very clean building. Camarillo did a great job with this.Anyone with a CA ID can get a library card here.Definitely worth seeing if you are in or passing through Camarillo.They have a used book store that closes at 4PM.

Excellent!I havent explored everything here, but you can borrow DVDs, movies etc in addition to their great book collection. They have a printing service too which allows you to print either from your own laptop or their work station.

Huge library! This was my first time visiting this place and I was pleasantly surprised. They had private rooms to study or have a small meeting. Really lovely place.

I love this place. So beautifully built, and such a great environment to be in, and the architecture is absolutely breathtaking! I spent and enjoyed many hours here🧡 Also, they have a lot of cool programs and the people who work here are all so friendly and welcoming!!! Highly recommend this gem of a library!

Its a huge place to come visit. Plenty of space to lay your books and read. Restrooms are so clean. Great place to bring kids over the weekend.

Such a beautiful library, I was astounded at the beautiful architecture of this building. Very nicely organized, clean and professional. The service was great, I was greeted and attended with kindness. They help you out with any question you have, and they’re very helpful with taking books out and using the computers. My new favorite place in all of Camarillo.

Ever wanted your own place to curl up with a book and lose yourself for the day? This library is one of a kind. From the Persian carpet made of tile to the pirate playscape in the children’s section, this library is a dream. The Friends of the Library at the entry has an extensive selection of donated books that are sold to support the library. The teen section is for teens only( just like they like it!) and the huge children’s section has everything from picture books, series books and early readers, graphic novels, foreign language books and a fiction and non-fiction section. Upstairs you can find Spanish language books, a business section and newspapers. Study carrells can reserved for study sessions. Hopefully one day, a lovely cafe will return again to the former one’s spot. This library is independent and not a part of the Ventura County Library system.

Felt unwelcome. Don’t tend to let my mind go towards racism but it definitely seemed as if I wasn’t wanted there and had staff staring at me. I’m a nursing student so. I spend my most of my time in libraries. It’s heartbreaking that racism still exists.

What a beautiful library! I spent a couple of hours reading in front of the fireplace upstairs. The childrens area is so whimsical and magical. The librarians are friendly and professional. There is an attached Library Cafe and a Friends of the Library bookstore for gently used books. Take it from a library connoisseur, give yourself the gift of an afternoon just reading and enjoying some quiet time here.

Library is beautiful, plenty of seating to study/study rooms, and cleanBut that doesn’t make up for the fact they have such STRICT food and drink rules. I have come a few times and I ALWAYS get talked to about my water cup. It’s spill proof with a straw. REALLY!?!?And they have multiple study rooms, you think they would cater to students. The brain is a muscle! Maybe allow a protein bar? Nope, got spoken to about that as well. I mean I would understand if I was a messy toddler, but I am an adult studying on my computer with my water sitting next to me. But instead I am constantly losing my train of thought to get interrupted just to be told that my cup is not to Camarillo Library standards.So silly. Unfortunately I have to take my studying elsewhere, even though my tax dollars pay for that facility, but I digress. I am off my soap box now.Fair warning though, drink water at your own risk!!!

I just came in for the first time since moving back to Camarillo 6 months ago. What a beautiful facility and friendly, helpful staff! I remember Camarillos first 2 libraries and this blows them away. What an asset to the community!

The library is clean and is certainly a great place to study.... that is until you are hungry. There is NO designated place to eat or even have a coffee. What make it worse is that they do not allow coffee inside the building (which many university libraries do by default). They should really think about solving this issue. Open the Cafe (closed during the pandemic), designate some areas for consuming food / coffee.

Computers, printers, sound proof rooms, etc. make this library a resource for job hunters & entrepreneurs & students who need a backdrop for zoom meetings and access to equipment. Lots of free fun in the kids and young adult areas as well as a fireplace and magazines to relax. Great second hand book store with movies, music, books & magazines for the price of the coins in your pocket.

Every place Ive ever lived, I scout out the public library first thing. The Camarillo Public Library is the most beautiful library I have ever had the privilege to visit. The childrens wing is so truly awesome, it makes me wish I was a kid again!

I ordered a book through the front desk via their ZIP program for my college class. Was told everything would be fine and it would arrive in a couple weeks. Almost a month later nothing, so I call them. The woman proceeds to tell me she canceled my order because the book was made in 2022 (apparently making me unable to obtain the book through them, even though the woman at the front desk let me order it) without notifying me. Now leaving me with no book for class.

This is a fantastic library. Easily the best in Ventura County. Theres a giant childrens section that is just amazing. The adult library is equally great. The librarians are all super nice and very helpful.

This is a must-visit in Camarillo. Love how big and beautiful the library is, especially the huge pirate ship in the childrens section! Besides looking great, it also has wonderful programming, helpful staff, a cafe, and a cool used bookstore. If you have kids, take advantage of the nice family bathroom and self check-out in the childrens section.

Really love this library that the city had to offer. It is a very unique building with an awesome pirate ship room and looking very clean around the building. The computers are very cool to use too. Great for after school hang out. Sometimes the books can be a bit harder to find sometimes. Been here since the opening of the library.

A really beautiful library with a lot of resources and many public events. I have lived in Camarillo for 24 years.. The old library was quite small and plain. The residents care enough about having a great library to put their money where there mouth is. Concerning some people who object to not being able to bring drinks in, would you like it if people came into your house and spilled drinks? Respect the library, there is a cafe and seating just outside the library where you can eat and drink. Dont be selfish.

I love the building. People are so chill. Especially when you walk inside, a simple yet elegant architecture that makes you want to come back. This is not the most beautiful libraries Ive been to but this library is very homey.

I love this place don’t get me wrong. This is a lovely clean library, but I just got here and I found out that they close at 5 on Fridays? I mean I get closing earlier on Saturday and Sunday, but it’s a weekday and school just started for many. I drive 30 mins to this library because I love the atmosphere but these hours are ridiculous. It’s not even 5 yet and they’re pushing people out and turning off the lights. It’s not like this place was dead, I saw a lot of people (especially young kids) studying, reading, or on their computers working. Libraries are the some of the only places left to promote a learning and safe environment for everyone. Please consider extending your hours on Friday, it’s still a weekday and students do come in here after class to work.

This is a delicate subject to bring up but this morning a gentleman brought with him a special needs individual and sat at one of the tables in the back. Unfortunately this individual was making these loud noises during his two hour stay.and I mean loud, I could hear him through my headphones. This went on without staff addressing the issue, it wasnt until another patron approached and asked politely if they could lower their voices and that individual was met by a rude response by the person that was taking care of the Special needs person. Two hours and thirty minutes later a staff person finally approached the two individuals and asked them kindly to lower their voices, since it is a library. Due to the slow response by staff personal, it might have taken a turn for the worse, glad things did not escalate any further.I will say this is one of the most beautiful and cleanest libraries I have ever visited...

This is such a beautiful library with many amenities and events for the community. I attended the Author Talk yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed Reyna Grandes discussion about her memoir, The Distance Between Us.Grande had the audience captivated as she explained how she formulatedher book and the message she wanted to express. The librarian host was very gracious - the author talk was outstanding - the whole program flowedbeautifully.

Wonderful library, helpful staff, quite upstairs. An amazing kids area shaped like pirate ship. The selection is good but if you dont see it you can generally order it from there Website it takes 1 to 2 weeks but how can you complain it is free.

Very nice public library and good website to support it. Staff is very helpful. There are always events on the calendar that are open to the community. Childrens section is fantastic, they offer story time 3-6 times a week.

A beautiful library with a fantastic childrens section. Everytime I go, there are always many tutors to help with your childs school work, and loads of activities during the summer time to help stave off boredom.The audio visual library is always growing and being updated as well.

Really a great place. They have a large book selection, many audio books and videos. A WONDERFUL childrens collection. A great internet site with full catalog and electronic downloads. Add to that a very helpful staff, a used bookstore, and a small cafe.

Wonderful library, great to get work done however I have never encountered such a strict library. People go in there to get work done and usually spend hours if not the whole day in there, cut us some slack let us bring in just a cup of coffee...or in my case dont make me throw out water in a Starbucks cup because its not bottled -__-

The physical building, its just wonderful, its nice to see the detail that was put into it to make so nice. Honestly, there could be more books and magazines, but the current collection is good. Friends of the library book store is great.
