I had Calimingo design my backyard, pool, and build my room addition back in 2019. After some veryyyyy heavy rains that we do not normally experience in the beginning of the year, I realized I had some water coming in through my La Catina doors (installed on the room addition) - I reached out to Calimingo to point me in the right direction since its been 5 years since they did the work thinking theyd have a recommendation for me. I was very pleased that they actually came out themselves to inspect what was going on and then took care of the repair at no charge. Its not very often a company will go out of their way 5 years later and I am very grateful they offered to do so. Exceeding expectations on customer service - not only is their work exceptionally beautiful but to me this shows they fully stand behind their work and looking out for their customers. I highlyyyy recommend working with Calimingo to build your dream yard - they are by far the best in the business.

Calimingo Pools and Jesse Escalera!! What can I say that these pics don’t already tell you! Not only does this dude have the most badass beard of anyone in OC but Jesse has nailed the art of landscape design and architecture! The materials and elements he mixes together create one hell of a visual cocktail and I think I can be confident in saying that we have the dopest backyard of anyone in Huntington Beach thanks to Jesse and his crew. Worth every penny just for his creative mind, then couple that with unmatched quality of construction and well, you get what you see here! Jesse, thanks bro!!

I’m so happy I went with Calimingo. I got bids from several companies and as soon as I got Calimingo’s bid, I knew I was going to hire them. It was super broken down and transparent, which helped me see what the other contractors were missing. We are so glad we went with Calimingo Pools. When we saw the renderings, we were blown away. Once the project got started, we were impressed with how well the team works and the quality of their work. The finished product is a lifetime of enjoyment. We enjoy our backyard every day. Even if we don’t go outside, we just look out and feel tranquility. We had friends over and they all can’t believe that a backyard could exist like this. They all say they would never go on vacation. Had a great experience with Calamingo pools designing our dream backyard. Their designer, Scott blew us away with his proposal of what could be done with our ho hum space. Steve always answered my (many, many) design questions promptly even after the design was completed and provided his expert advice on materials, layouts etc.Were in the middle of our build and cannot wait to see the finished product! I am beyond thrilled and so excited to start the process of my pool installation. I called and asked for a quote, we set up an appointment with Steve to make a virtual vision of my dream pool/backyard. We started the process digitally going over it and seeing how it would look in the backyard, changing things as needed. I wanted a space that was luxurious and also fitting to host a large crowd. Using Calimingo for our back yard Reno/ design was a very good decision- we had a few other temping bids but ultimately went with Calimingo- we worked with One of their very talented designers Steve, who blew our mind away with the design. Nailed it on the first go! The construction crew were respectful and despite a few hurtles with HOA and city- they were able to get our project completed. We have many friends who used other contractors who never finished the work. Glad we went with Calimingo.

I work as a top sales associate at a Mercedes dealer so I’m very familiar with how a top shelf company operates and I can tell you with confidence that Calimingo pool is a first class operation. You can tell they have perfected they’re systems and process. Every step of the way they are running a tight ship. The other companies we spoke to had 1 guy you deal with for everything but was an expert at nothing. With Calimingo pools it seems they have a department for each step and a specialist to go with it. Great sales staff, great designers and a bunch of great artisans in the field building our dream yard. We had been considering a complete renovation of our backyard for a few years and particularly figuring out if we could put in a pool big enough to be worth it given our backyard size and shape. After seeing Jesses projects on HGTV a few times, my wife figured it wouldnt hurt checking him out for our project.I immediately assumed that anyone on TV would be overpriced and/or too interested in other projects to really care about ours. Jesse put my concerns about his interest level to rest in our initial consultation and through multiple revisions in the design process.Once we had a design we loved that took into account our goals, it was clear he genuinely listened to our priorities and feedback even though he has a strong artistic vision for his projects. I love that he can balance his taste and our project needs to create compelling results for us!He bid the design including lots of detail for each item and at that point I could compare specific lines against costs from other projects weve done and prior vendors to see that his prices were very reasonable for what we were doing.We gave the greenlight days before COVID hit, and despite permit challenges at the city due to the pandemic and everything else that happened in 2020, Jesses team (Russ, Joel, Francisco, and crew) got our project done with a minimum of delays and did a fantastic job.Almost as important to me after all the other projects weve done with contractors over the years, when the inevitable challenges arose on a project this complex, Jesse and team handled directly and professionally with a minimum of stress for us.Thanks so much for a great new backyard and would love to work with Jesse and team again in the future on our next big project that needs a touch of genius! :)

After a year and a half, we are still as happy with our backyard and the work Calimingo Pools did on our backyard as we were on day one. We have enjoyed a few great parties and many awesome weekends. Weve been waiting years to get our pool done so this was a big deal for us. We wanted to get the right company to do it. Ive heard a lot of horror stories about construction companies in general. Right away I noticed everywhere I looked there was information on Calimingo Pools and the owner Jesse Escalera. Five star all the way. Even then I still took several other estimates. I think the other people that came are probably more indicative of what the market is like. Some people didnt even show up to scheduled meetings. Other people showed up and spent the time and then never followed up. I finally got three other quotes. Two of them were much cheaper. One of them was around the same price. I think generally Calimingo is a little more expensive than the typical pool company but I have my doubts that any of these other pool companies are on the level of Calimingo Pools. Every personthat helped me with my project was an absolute professional. I am especially fond of our Project Manager Frank. He was so kind to my family and we are happy to write a review about our experience and recommend Calimingo Pools!

I first heard about Jesse many many years ago watching him on HGTV and when he started posting on Instagram I followed him there too. Are used to think I wouldn’t be able to afford him but then my family became fortunate enough to be able to afford an original Jesse Escalera design. At this point it was Calimingo Pools and he had built out quite an impressive company. Every thing about it is very organized. His staff is very helpful and friendly. Nothing but professionalism throughout. The project came out immaculate. I’ve never seen such a high level of fit and finish on any construction project let alone a pool/backyard project. These guys are all first class individuals and deserve the praise. Look no further. Hire Calimingo Pools !

This is the third year in a row my kids have been begging me for a pool and the older they get the more annoying they are getting about it so I decided to pull the trigger. I did my research first and after a short look around I landed on Calimingo Pools. It seem like the obvious choice. I am an artist myself and have an eye for these things. Calimingo Pools is the most creative pool company out there in my opinion. I didn’t really wind up Getting other bids as I had already done a rigorous amount of homework and also my neighbors had all gotten Pools and I knew what the cost. The kids were heavily lobbying for a pool. We did our homework and we’re very careful when selecting the company that would do our pool. Calimingo Pools has a stellar reputation wherever you look not to mention tons of information on the company. More than anyone else we found. It was easy to make the decision especially after engaging with several other companies. Needless to say the entire process was made as painless as building a pool can be thanks to the clear path that Calimingo Pools set forth for completing my project. One thing I particularly liked was that the estimates are extremely broken down. They give you the price for each individual line item. For example the pool equipment had pricing for each component and the pool shell itself was broken down by the price of the rebar, the price of the shot Crete, the price of the coping. Everything was a separate price all the way through the landscaping. We didn’t see that in any of the other bids for the other contractors. A special thank you to our designer Kam for being patient with us and coming up with a perfect design for our family and Russell for holding our hand through the build process and making it the easiest relationship we’ve ever had with a contractor. You guys are awesome. Keep up the good work!

These guys are first class!I’ve been really wanting to get something done with our front and backyard for several years now but not knowing exactly how to go about getting a really nice design done that would complement our personalities. Me and my wife are both artists and I guess we’re pretty picky. After having several contractors come over the period of a year and having several designs we were Starting to think maybe we wouldn’t be able to find someone that would be a good fit until we found Calimingo Pools. These guys just get it. Not only did they provide a beautiful design and pretty much hit it out of the park on the first shot but the entire process has been a dream come true. Calimingo Pools has over exceeded my expectations. I must admit, I am a pain in the butt sometimes. I just am passionate about what I like and they were a perfect fit for me. I am very pleased with Calimingo Pools. For someone that considers themselves a perfectionist, I had a vision and I needed to make sure I had the right team to make it happen. I explained to Guillermo how I envisioned my backyard and once the concept images were created I can’t tell you how excited I was. Seeing the whole project unfold was definitely interesting and sure it took some time, but now my house is the most popular when it comes to getting together with friends and family. Worth it.

I was really looking for a creative partner in helping me concept something unique with a ‘wow factor’. There are so many pool companies out there and it’s a nightmare to sift through and find a good and more importantly, trustworthy company, but I lucked out big-time finding Calimingo Pools. These guys are absolutely awesome! They have a well-thought-out process for everything. The guys that were working on my house were friendly And very hard-working. They kept the backyard in order and clean at all times. The designs are good however the customer service and follow-up are extremely poor. We purchased both back and front yard designs and worked with Steve (I know people in the reviews cite working with Jesse but I don’t believe that is the norm from our experience). The package is supposed to include unlimited design. Our initial designs were good and close to what we wanted and we did not go through much back-and-forth to get to something we liked. However I would say there are two main issues with this company. First they do a quote for you at the end. We had our scheduled and the salesman was extremely late with no notification and we were left waiting on a zoom call for several minutes with no response on a work day. Instead of apologize he was extremely rude, didnt apologize at all and never followed up again. It left a really bad taste with us. We called to follow up with the company directly and they said they would call us back and give us an estimate, but nobody ever to us. Secondly we had a couple of very minor design modifications after we had spent more time with designs. I emailed Steve (the designer assigned to us) from the company several times And initially did not hear back at all. When I did he told me it would take 2 to 3 weeks to make the changes I requested and then I never heard back again despite following up. I stopped trying but I would like to say that although we liked the design, we didn’t get to perfect it, and the whole experience left a very bad taste with me. There were several people in the company that don’t follow up, don’t respond, and don’t care about customer service though we were paying customers.

Covid put a wrench in the system for us at first, but Calimingo did their best to make sure everything ran smoothly. If it weren’t for their persistence and organization I think we’d still have a big muddy mess in our yard.
