The installation of solar panels, batteries and controllers was very positive. California Solar even installed a 220 outlet in my garage and repaired a string of faulty outlets in my living room that havent worked since I bought the house 12 years ago. I recommend them for anyone who wants to go solar.

California Solar did a phenomenal job on our solar project in Nevada City. They were punctual and very professional. The work was done quickly and completed with a high level of craftsmanship. Everyone from their sales person to their install crew was courteous and kind. We would HIGHLY recommend them for your solar installation!!!

We did a lot of research and due diligence before deciding on who to go with for our solar install. We got several competing bids before making our decision on who to go with. Cal Solar did the best job not only with the install but advising us about the options available to us. It can be a pretty daunting task to soak it all in before signing on the dotted line but we felt very informed and there was absolutely no pressure to go forward. Keeping our hard earned money in the local community as well as supporting an employee owned instead of sending it elsewhere was also a plus in our decisionEverything happened on schedule for our install even though supply chain issues were causing lots of delays elsewhere. Part of our installation required interfacing with another company that was installing a permanent whole home generator and that happened without a hitch. The only hiccup in our journey was due to PG&E not moving is over to their solar customer side of billing for several months. This was not due to any fault on Cal Solars behalf, it was all due PG&Es billing department. We eventually got a full refund for over payments that we were billed for.Our system just passed the one year anniversary date about a month ago and our first annual true-up bill from PG&E showed that we had produced some surplus power and owed nothing.

Excellent experience from first inquiry to installation. There are many solar providers to chose from and Cal Solar was a superior choice for our solar needs. The sales, consulting, design, permitting, installation and post-installation support have been far more than I hoped for. I just had my solar panels installed by California Solar and I want to say they did an excellent job. Everything was handled professionally. I first met with Lindsey, who completely explained the process, how many panels it would take to generate over 100% of my yearly usage, and how much it would cost, minus the 30% federal tax credit. A graph was provided, showing my expected usage per month and the expected solar generation per month. Then Stacy took over and kept me updated every step of the way.They made the application to PG&E, obtained the permits, designed the layout of the panels for my approval and arranged for the final county inspection. The installers were courteous and professional and cleaned everything up each day.An overall excellent experience. They even sent flowers after the final inspection!

We had California Solar Electric install a system and were quite happy with it. Although there was a wait (due in part to supply chain issues), they managed the delay professionally and we were updated regularly. When the day finally came, they installed the system in one day. They then coordinated the inspection and set up of our net metering with PG&E. I would recommend Cal Solar and would use them again if/when I have another solar project to implement. Kudos for great work.

Overall good experience. Sales were honest and not pushy (but I knew what I wanted, and they delivered). Site eval was poor, resulting in design changes and delays in permitting for the first of two installs (I expanded system a year later). Installers were great, and completion with utility and follow up was good. Documentation was great. As a former owner of a solar electric company, I know whats what. Cal Solar is better than most.

As a former contractor of many years, Im very aware of the wide range of quality and professionalism that exists in the building trades. I know good work when I see it.Our experience with Cal Solar was nothing but positive. The initial conversations, the site visits, and follow-up meetings were done in a professional manner. And the installation itself was high quality, performed by a friendly crew. They were flexible in working with us at every step and very responsive to any questions or concerns we had. These guys are all the best! They’ve done two installs for us. They kept us informed every step of the way. They were able to get us just the panels we wanted and they ALWAYS showed up when they said they would. I would not hesitate to recommend this company anytime. I wish all companies had their work ethics!
