I purchased vintage license plates for my 54’ Chevy 3100 truck that require a commercial plate. He had them in stock in great condition and was available for pick up.I also purchased a pair of year of make 66’ stickers for a Chevelle and a C10 truck. He had them in stock and look great!I highly suggest using him for your vintage plate needs.

Super!! Im in the process of fixing up my 72 Chevy pickup, (Im the original owner) replacing lots of worn-out parts. This new license plate makes my truck look great. Im really pleased with the results. Paul allowed me to send one plate at a time so that I could continue to legally use my truck. He did an outstanding job and I will recommend him to others who need restoration.

Paul is knowledgeable and runs a tight ship. I had an excellent experience acquiring plates for my ‘55 Mercedes with him. The plates were superbly restored as was the associated metal tag. He shipped on time and followed up with me on delivery. He coached me through the DMV YOM program both before and during my visit to the DMV to register the car with the old plates. When my local DMV representatives just couldn’t get it right Paul contacted his representatives inside the YOM program in Sacramento and had them call and educate the manager at that local facility I was at (while I was still there) to settings right from the top down. It came together flawlessly. Don’t work with anybody else. Paul knows what he’s doing and is totally committed to the purchaser experience.

Amazing!I purchased a new car and wanted my amateur radio license plates to look as good as the car.With Pauls perfectionist work the plates now look better than the new car!And the plates I sent him were dented, scratched, and bent after being on a series of cars.Now they look brand spanking new like they just came from Folsom State Prison!Highly recommended, and worth the wait for Paul to apply his craft!

First of all, if you think you know what customer service is, you’re absolutely wrong. I was wrong as well until I got in touch with Paul.He literally re-defined what that meant for me in every aspect while I was trying to navigate the seas of tracking down original plates and stickers for my 1974 Yamaha TX500.After a naive attempt at trying it out my own via eBay and a wasted trip to the DMV I quickly learned a few valuable lessons in properly researching when it comes to anything vintage.In short, Paul walked me through every single step and shined so much light on the situation during our call I almost needed to pull out a pair of sunglasses.He knows more insider tips and tricks in the license plate space than anyone I can imagine and outshines any DMV employee you might come across at your local field office. He shared so much information that I felt like I should have been paying for these insider secrets.And the best part of it all was that it was all incredibly genuine. Found this site on google,was very impressed with it. After talking to Paul, I felt very comfortable dealing with him and trusted him with my original black and yellow plates off my 1967 GTO, which had been sitting outside under a tree for about 20 years. The plates were faded and had some surface rust on them. About a 6 week turnaround and the price was very exceptional. When we got the plates back, they look like brand new plates! Did not think my 1972 plates from my Jeep J-truck could be restored. It was used as a snow plow in its prior life so they were in pretty rough shape. Talked with Paul and he was able to help. Now the plates look good as new. Very happy with how they turned out and the whole process.

This is the finished product of just one of the services that Paul provided for me during his restoration of my 1935 California license plate. After I sent Paul a picture of my plate he informed me a short time later that he did a DMV check to make sure that I would be able to use it on my 1935 Harley Davidson. He then gave me an estimate and explained what would have to be done to repair and repaint my plate. The plate had a bend/crease down the center, flattened areas on the numbers, several other dents and various damaged areas all over the plate. Paul assured me that it would look as good as new. Take a look for yourself. It looks like a brand new plate. If I ever have a need for another vintage license plate, plate repair or questions about license plates, I will, without hesitation, call Paul. Absolutely the BEST! Thank you Paul!

I was in search of some original CA plates for my newly purchased 1969 Mercedes 280SE and came across California Old License Plates. What a great experience. I met Paul and Naomi yesterday at the 2021 Selma Vintage Car Swap Meet.I was looking for California 1929 plates for my Ford Model A. They had a few new old stock, still in the original paper sets that have never been used or assigned to cars.I looked through all of them and bought a set. If you want beautiful YOM plates for your vintage car, buy from this couple. They are the nicest people and go above and beyond, even giving you the DMV paperwork needed to use the plates.

I called Paul Gunter at California Old License Plates regarding an issue with my 1941 CA license plates. I was having so much trouble with the CA DMV, but with Paul’s help, knowledge and expertise I was able to get the DMV to submit my paperwork to Sacramento. Paul went above and beyond in helping me resolve my issue with the DMV, even calling me back several times to check on the outcome.
