I liked them the second I called them. They are family owned, honest, up front, zero games, very knowledgable and super friendly. So I came here strictly off of the near flawless reviews they have received over time. Unfortunately I didnt have anything that was worth anything, but the real pay off was the hospitality and kindness that these people know. I had gone in to check something to see if it was silver. They put it in their machine and it said it was silver so they wanted to test it more. OK I understand that the machine doesn’t always tell the truth so the sister grabs her Dremel, and she starts grinding it on the side, not in a discreet place to where If it weren’t silver, which it happen to not be where it’s discreet she didn’t even have the decency to do it in a discreet spot, and then they laughed about it. Good job did you see how fast that came off blah blah blah blah blah they have a really odd relationship I won’t be going back there.

I had a very professional and pleasant experience at California Gold & Silver Exchange. I did not have an appointment but after waiting a few minutes Maria was able to assist me. They have a really great selection of gold and silver coins, bullion/rounds, bars, etc. and the premium price that I paid was less than that of my favorite online retailer(s). This place was great the first time I went and so was the lady working there who I believe was part owner but then the second time I went in I bought 2 half a dozen one and a half ounce Canadian silver rounds and each one had a missing round in them. On top of that they way overcharged me. They said one price on the phone and marked the price up about 25% once I got there. Never going again. I actually did go here yesterday and the lady at the front desk as well as the guy across from her were both very helpful and knowledge able of all the products I asked about. They dont rush you out either, very attentive. Definitely coming back.

I called and spoke with Maria, she was more than helpful and the offer they made for our silver was very fair in my opinion. I couldnt recommend this place higher if I wanted to. Just had my first experience selling silver and must admit it was a really fun and informative time. Michael, Maria and Amira run a small, family owned business. Its secure, comfortable and easy to find (just north of the 10 Freeway). They are lovely people... friendly, patient and extremely knowledgeable. The prices are completely fair and you can tell that theyre not trying to rip you off. This should be your first and only stop if you are looking to sell or buy rare metals.

I came first thing in the morning and i brought 168grams in sterling silver and some older coins and the lady that helped me was hurrying up did not even ask me or even test the diamonds in my jewelry to make me any kind of offer for which I had real diamonds in some of my jewelry for which is bad business and she only offered me $21 which the gold exchange online whom i spoke to first said they pay per oz. So if 28 grams equals a ounce if an ounce goes for $24 or $25 you wouldnt offer only $21 for everything.... for next to nothing and then your post card says you pay x3 more than anyone else and you would test a person jewels and give them money for those not just offer the lowest of low and nothing on stones for this reason alone, i have half a nerve to file a claim against this business for being a rip off because i feel that they didnt do good business and just wanted to rush me out the door and how could they when its first thing in the morning and they have to work a whole day. Im probably sure my coins will be sold for what they are truly worth even if they werent purchased what there value. Oh Well ill Chalk it up to a learning experience BUT I WOULDNT TAKE YOUR ITEMS TO THEM THEY DONT HAVE ANY KIND OF KNOWLEDGE AND ADVERTISE THAT THEY BUY OLD COINS BUT I DIDNT SEE ANY KIND OF KNOWLEDGE REGARDING THOSE EITHER. THEY ESPECIALLY ARENT ABLE TO GRADE ANYTHING OTHERWISE I WOULDNT HAVE BEEN TREATED THE WAY I WAS AND WOULD HAVE BEEN PAID AN HONEST PRICE FOR MY ITEMS INSTEAD OF HOW THEY DID. Walked out with 40oz of silver at what I learned was a decent price over spot, when all of the local coin shops were closed because they’d rather not be open then sell something at a price that benefits the consumer. Went there today to sell some Gold and Silver American Eagles. Called around and everyone was quoting me prices below spot price, some 10% below. California Gold and Silver gave me close to spot price on Gold and over spot price for Silver. I called 5 other dealers and they were no where close to what they gave me. When I went onsite the transaction was easy and people are very friendly. Will definitely go there in the future for my gold and silver needs!

In the past eight months, I have been to over 20 different gold and silver selling places, from the big ones you know about to the big and small jewelry stores. Was Googling new places to go and happened on California Gold & Silver Exchange. Went there to test their prices... I had a ring that I took to all the different places. Maria is so sweet and helpful, genuine and does not try to oversell her store (this business is what all mom and pop businesses should strive for). That was three months ago and I have not been to another store since. Her prices are by far the best from Norwalk to San Bernardino. I am so happy I found California Gold & Silver Exchange in Upland. The cons outweigh the pros here! This place charges more than most places and a good deal more. Especially for say silver eagles they charge you automatically something like $4 to $6 it varies over the current spot price of silver and like $7 or more over the spot price for silver mapleafs and $10 or more even for silver eagles But the worst thing about this place is if you try to sell them back your silver bars or coins, they will give you 50 cents below the current silver spot price, and only offer you around $1 unless graded or its never been touched by a human hand, theyll offer you around $1 above the current silver spot price for the same Silver mapleleafs and same silver eagles that they sold to you for $7 to $10 or more over current spot price. Now I believe in they have to make money of course but thats a really really far stretch. ... Now there is some pros to the place like they do have one of the biggest selections most of the time over most other places . And the one thing that gave them the 3*s instead of 1is they are really nice, the one lady who seems to have a slight more final say not as much but. Michael and I cant remember her name unfortunately but the lady thats usually in the front on the left side when you walk in are really patient,, friendly, helpful,great with questions and insight as well as very knowledgeable. The other lady is very knowledgeable too but again lacks being as personal . Thats as honest as it gets . Nothing more nothing less
