Weve been to the center for the Arts so many times I cannot tell you. But most recently, we went on a behind the scenes field trip with our sons school to view the back end of how the plays are set up. The staff is wonderful the venue is beautiful.

I experienced an amazing display of Mexican culture at the annual Folklorico festival. The weekend was full of 3 hour shows with groups of dancers of all ages from various parts of Mexico. The sound in the theater was great. The seating allowed for great views of the stage. I would definitely visit this theater for other types of performances.

We went to the Johnny Cash tribute It was amazing! The venue was beautiful, plenty of air circulation, the sound was amazing. Overall very nice. I love the Escondido performing arts center. I grew up in Escondido.

This venue is incredible. No bad seats anywhere in the house. Be aware that the concert hall and the center theater are very different. The concert hall is very vertical, so don’t get the front row of the balcony if you’re afraid of heights. Free parking and I can be home in 10 minutes! Ruth Kincade is wonderful to work with.

Accessibility: there are many accessible/handicap parking spots in the parking lot as well as multiple ramps to get onto the sidewalk that leads to the museum, theaters, ticket office and conference area. When heading toward these buildings from the parking lot the pathway is lit with string lights and street lights in the parking lot. You might come to an option that says the left hallway is for the museum and right hallway for the theaters, ticket office, conference center...only the right side has a ramp so you might need to take that and go a little further until the sidewalk wraps around to the museum side. Its not much farther. If you come from the other side of all these buildings because you parked somewhere else, it is more flat ground and ramps. The museum has a pull door and inside it is very well lit with tons of open space. There are restrooms open in the museum and they have one larger stall for those who need it.Experience: I really loved this museum. Its beautiful inside, very spacious, not too hot or cold, and the tickets are not too expensive compared to some museums. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the art is very well taken care of. I will definitely come back. Outside the museum there is Grape Day Park which is absolutely beautiful, free, and has many benches and trees with shade.

This is a beautiful performance venue, with incredible views - not a bad seat in the house.Styled after an olde theatre design, the stalls on the floor are adorned with several levels of balconies stacked above, with the balcony seats not far from the stage.The ushers are some of the most polite and helpful I have experienced at any venue. They will direct you in the proper direction without being too pushy. Just simply kind should.The sound system is loud, but was not overbearing. Good for matching the cheers, but not too loud to prevent communication with those next to you.Parking was a bit awkward, at least to me, as I was not familiar with the area.An amazing venue.

We’ve never been here and it was a really wonderful time! We watched a kids show, and booked the box 1 - which I recommend. Our kids were able to move around and the chairs were bigger and more comfortable. The process to get in was quick enough and I enjoyed the whole event

Our latest visit was for the Friday night free concert, it was Mexican music, very enjoyable atmosphere. Atmosphere full bar opened plenty of bathrooms and you sit outside and enjoy the obvious with some food trucks through in.

This place was wonderful. I went to see Sunday in the park with George which was exceptional. The staff was polite and patient. We definitely went over the time. The theatre was small and intimate but beautiful. The only thing was the seats werent very comfortable. I found myself keep adjusting almost an hour in, so my bottom wouldnt hurt.

Went there to see City Ballet Carmina Burana. Live orchestra, live chorus, great sound, and very convenient sitting. Also, a good bar in a lobby to have wine or cocktail before performance.

We held a workshop in the conference center of this venue. The staff was amazing and attentive throughout the entire process. We are based in a different state and have to choose venues for our workshop without being able to tour them personally. Terri and her team sent us all the pictures, floorplans, and all the info we needed. They were really great to work with through the entire process. The day of the event was flawless. Everything was prepared to our specifications. We heard feedback from our attendees that the food was delicious. I would highly reccommend them for any event, and especially for corporate ones when you have to deliver to your customers!

I was shocked to find this large in this elegant huge entertainment facility in Escondido I didnt know the city house such a magnificent humongous Arts Complex that was just fantastic in every way. We went here to see The Nutcracker it was my first visit here and it was just fabulous. I loved every part of it I love the architecture the little nooks and crannies where you can grab a hot cocoa the little nooks and crannies where they would have red carpets and decorations Galore. It was really wonderful to come here. We took some great photos of the orchestra pit and different areas at this event but the app is not allowing me to get to my phone deep enough to pull those pictures so Im sorry I cant put pictures of what we saw maybe Ill figure it out later but this was just a magnificent theater with several levels of seating and balconies just gorgeous..

What a purely delightful evening full of excitement, beautiful Chinese dancing, a rainbow of colors, and so many wonderful stories they tell. The orchestra is superb, and it is just a very special evening. I have gone for the last five years, because each year, they have a whole new show.I cant wait to see what they have in store next. Ive been visiting this center for music concerts for 3 years, and we used to look forward to the music concerts at this theater as the sound quality is way too good. Would like to point out two incidents that happened with the recent visit. Minutes before the start of the concert, we were asked to move to different seats to make room for waiting performers. They were looking for around 20 seats, which for sure should have been pre planned by the coordination staff and reserve seats accordingly. Those who came early to choose seats were forced to move out to a less option. The second thing was the most annoying part. The audience lacked show etiquette, and the whole back row, people were chatting and murmering so loud that it was totally spoiling the concert mood.

We treated ourselves to orchestra seats for the Nutcracker ballet. The gracefully athletic ballet dancing choreographed to the classic Nutcracker music performed by the SF Ballet Orchestra was a MAGICAL experience! A Christmas tradition for us. The cost of orchestra tickets was not too much more than balcony seats and worth it-- better view and sound. Allow yourself enough time to park and get seated as the ticket booth and usher services were slow. Highly recommend.

Amazing venueYesterday I went to see the play Aint misbehaving. It was in the smaller theater and I never visited that particular theater before. I was very pleased. Theres not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are wonderful and its almost like being in the show. If this is definitely one of San Diego and escondidos true treasures. Im looking at their schedules now to book more shows. I hate the fact I have not visited here in the past.

Just saw The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night with my elderly parents. Great performance - after the show we stayed for the panel discussion . I told them that I apperciated them brining sensitivity to the topic of autism + Shared that I am a person with autism ( I also struggle with OCD + Learning disabilities including auditory and Visual processing challenges, Dyslexia, and true math disabilities).

Went to this venue to see shen yun for the first time in many years. Was very disappointed in the seats. They definitely need to be replaced. They are old and saggy, giving no support, and the seats my family sat in (orchestra at $210) were very soiled. If you have any kind of back issues beware. Bring your own cushions.

We had never been to this location before but attended a grad school graduation here recently. It was a fantastic venue with great views on all levels. Easy to park, get in, and get it quickly and efficiently. We will definitely attend more events here.

My husband and I attended a performance of Dancing With The Stars - Live! We loved the venue!Lots of parking, lighted pathways, usher and security staff very helpful. Seating is very comfortable and viewing the stage is unobstructed, although we did have Orchestra center VIP seats. They have fully stocked bars, pouring premium spirits. You can purchase a sealed glass/container that is permitted to be taken to your seats.The only negative comment would be location of restrooms, they are not located on every floor. So it does take awhile to get to them and then wait for your turn.

This was a hard rating. The place is stunning. Parking was great (30 min early) Loved the performance (Lee Brice) and sound and staff were super. Reasoning for the not great rate? The bar situation was atrocious!!! They need to bring a bar manager in and revamp immediately!!! 4 lines all trying to do mixed drinks off 1 center bar, all mixers are in a whole separate back room. Want a rum and coke? Thats gonna take 5 minutes to make after a 30 minute line!!! Why bother paying to see a show? Want a simple beer or wine? You get to wait in those exact same lines! No joke.Add a (or 3) simple beer/wine ONLY lines. Pop a top, pour and pay.Get those sodas out of the back room at more than 1 can per order!!! Get these bartenders more than 1 place to get harder alcohol. People should not miss over 1/2 the show to just get a soda (no alcohol). This was seriously the worst Ive ever experienced. They didnt even have non-alcoholic lines for water or straight sodas.This HAS to be fixed before I ever go back.

The person sitting on the ticket counter made me wait for a long time since he was busy talking on the phone some personal stuff. The California Center for the Arts in Escondido is a great venue to see a concert. We went to see Michael McDonald there and found there was not a bad seat in the house. They have a variety of events, including concerts and performing arts, festivals, film screenings, museum exhibits and free community events.

BE WARNED, many of the seats, including all the boxes, have very poor views of the stage. The balconies are strangely curved which means that you need to sit in the middle of the rows to be able to see. Also dont sit in the first row of the balconies as the large metal railing will obscure your view since it basically sits at eye level. This is also the big problem with the boxes! Imagine buying box seats and not being able to see because of a f**king great big metal bar! Pleasant venue in terms of appointment and appearance, great free parking.

Its always very clean and the place is kept up. I went to see my daughter play with her classmates in band along with all the escondido elementary schools. All of the parents were there it seemed! We were in the big theater and I got to sit alone in a balcony seat. I enjoy any event Ive been to at this place! Although, they could have more wheelchair seating!

My boyfriend and I first came to the Arts Center to see New Worlds: Bill Murray, Jan Vogler & Friends. It was amazing! The Center was beautiful, clean and the staff was helpful. There is a bar and snacks for anyone to get refreshments before-hand. Finding our seats was easy; the chairs are comfortable. I loved the aesthetic of the Center as well- a blend of modern architecture with old fashioned theatre vibes complete with high balcony boxes. The location is great as well since there are tons of little eateries nearby. It was a lovely experience!

Went to Lewis Black and had unfortunate experience. The venue was great, Lewis was great, but we had an obnoxious heckler behind us that was clapping, screaming, and yelling his add-ons to the jokes for the ENTIRE SHOW. If an usher would have been on the 2nd balcony and told him to stop ruining the show that would have been the expected response. Seen people thrown out of comedy shows for 1/10th of the disturbance this guy caused.

Lovely main facility but VERY difficult to get around if stairs are an issue - otherwise would have given it 4 stars.They also have a smaller venue there too and that is much easier to manage (re stairs).They offer many events other than those in the two larger concert-type halls: outdoor cabaret type entertainment, outreach for kids, lectures, hands-on art classes and so much more.All that info would be on their web site. Get on their mailing list and they will keep you informed about what is coming.

Love Love this place. Such a great asset to the community. My family and I have enjoyed many great concerts and events. The Xmas lights were fun. Pre-Covid we enjoyed movies in the park. We moved to Escondido about 6 years ago and we have been impressed with the community improvements. The arts center is such an enjoyable part of Escondido. Parking is never an issue. And the seasonal line up of performances are impressive.

This is a great place to see classical music. We caught the San Diego Symphony show here this week. Weve also seen big stars like Itzhak Perlman and Renee Fleming here in the concert hall. In the smaller theater we have seen some excellent chamber groups. Parking is very easy and free.

The musical ONCE was absolutely AMAZiNG, Brilliant, and FUN! The cast should travel together and bring it back to Broadway. It was FANTASTIC! We came from AZ and saw a couple of shows, along with seeing the Stephen Sondheim Cabaret! What a treat! We were throughly impressed with the service, and quality of the shows! The acoustics are wonderful and the stage is fully visible, even from the balcony. However, I found the balcony seats - while affordable - were very steep and a bit scary getting to the seat. Temperatures remained comfortable throughout the show. Very easy to find the venue and parking is free.

We saw a wonderful play written by Scott Mann called Last Out: Elegy of a Green Beret.This play needs to be seen by everyone who cares about anyone who suffers from the mental anguish of combat. Thanks to the generous support of the Gary Sinise Foundation, veterans, their family members, and active duty military are provided with free tickets to see this amazing play.

We went to the Cabaret performance and everything about it was fabulous. First, the performers themselves were great as was the music. We had a front row table and were worried the decibel level would be unbearable, but it was perfect. Second, the service was impeccable, attentive but not intrusive. Tables were socially distanced, and waitstaff wore masks as did guests when not eating or drinking. Restrooms were close by. We want to attend every performance at the cabaret!

Small theatre. Restrooms are hard to find and inconveniently located. Tiny snack bar that only served things like overpriced bags of chips and M&Ms; no alcoholic beverages. Said snacks were banned from taking into theatre, so one is expected to nibble in the corridor, and chance missing out on the performance you paid big bucks to see.

The food was exquisite. I absolutely RAVAGED my watery, sweet, tantalizing dish of ravioli, despite the smaller than average green but size does not matter :). Beautifully decorated for the Holiday season around the grassy area. Interior spaceous. Bar well stocked for alcoholic and other drinks. Comfortable seating. Sound system much more clear than San Diego Civic Center. Good seats with clear view of stage throughout the venue. Wide variety of shows throughout the year.

My entire Administration of Justice class (from Palomar College, San Marcos Campus) got to see Bryan Stevenson here on March 7th, 2018. & What a great experience it was!The flyers had a great map on them that showed exactly where to go. That, plus the friendly & helpful staff made it very easy to find the concert hall, my door, &, eventually, my seat.The place is beautiful -- absolutely stunning. Very modern, yet also very elegant!A big plus: Parking was not a stressful or inconvenient task (on arrival nor during exit). That one, I was NOT expecting!The event was great - the whole night was great! Id be more than happy to come back here for another event!

I have been here for shows, a Gala, and for job workshops. It is clean and well maintained. We went to watch Little Mermaid and Peter Pan. Both shows had young performers who were very impressive in their art. The Gala was held in their banquet hall. It was a good size for a few hundred people and the food was great! I would recommend this place for a party or even for shows! Plenty of parking and close to freeways!

The bathrooms are located in the lower level but I didnt realize it until I was already upstairs for the concert. It has a nice sit down area at the entrance inside which is where I waited for my husband to arrive, I would have been nice if beverages were served there. Parking is free but arrive at least an hour early for good parking. I like when they have shows outside in the summer and curbside eats shows up. I love the food trucks and so do the kids.

I would rate the venue higher, but only for the seating orientation, I cant. Not sure who designed the seating position at the outer areas of the upper sections, but you literally have to turn 90 degrees to view the stage. I was looking straight across the the other side of the auditorium! They need to reorient the seats to the side to make them acceptable. The parking is good, the building is attractive, and the staff was wonderful and helpful.

Beautiful venue for performing artists. Picturesque grounds, lots of free parking, comfortable seating with a clear view of the stage from every seat, spacious lobby for the audience to move about, a wine bar - a nearly perfect theatrical theater. However, it does not have WiFi for public access (ideally free) which is needed for those events which only provide their program online. 4.5 stars.

Attended a Chris Botti concert, the sound was great and every seat has a good to great view. The Center itself is a reminder of days gone by... with antique charm to the swirling balcony. Beautiful property. Acoustics were fantastic. We saw Alan Cumming Legal Immigrant Awesome show. I was kind of shocked that I have lived here for 11 years and never been in this theater.I would love to see them get bigger acts in the near future. I think their biggest headliner this past year was David Archuleta.I will definitely be returning. Fingers crossed on bigger acts in the future.

Went here for a birthday party one month ago as I never knew this place existed. Excellent place for 18 months to 6-7 year olds. Lots a fun stuff for the kids, dressing up cloths, climbing frames, educational activities etc. All under one roof in a safe environment. Went here again for a second this week as it was raining and again the kids had a blast. Little on the expensive side, but I only paid for the day. Im sure theyll have membership discounts.

Weve been a vendor for events here and attendees as well. Always enjoyable and a great group of people to work with. The performing arts theater is quite impressive. A friend hired us to provide linens for her birthday. She sang most impressive opera -- breathtaking. Our daughter performed as a fashion model for other events. Having an event here is a great way to support performing arts activities.

Had a wonderful evening listening to San Marcos Middle school students band. The director is fantastic and works very hard with the students. He gives of his time and The students are happy. The student performance was exceptional. Especially the piano players who are only 12 and 13 years of age. I Especially like the handicapped parking and easy accessible. The walk is a little long. The place was overall clean. The bathrooms needed updating.

The theatre seems small but inside is generous with plenty of apace between aisles. The acoustics were phenomenal at Swan Lake ballet but I cant speak for a love orchestra. This theatre is great and so much closer than going all the way down to SD. Also, all staff was super helpful with my lost ticket and my arriving late and just my general ineptitude. So expect a good experience, and please try to dress up a bit, the performers see it as a sign of respect, skip the blue jeans just for tonight.

The acoustics are excellent. Sat in the Mezzanine for the United States Marine Band, aka The Presidents Own, and heard excellent details and soft passages. Seems like an opera house seating arrangement with 2 balconies, Mezzanine, Dress Circle, main floor orchestra seating and side boxes. No one is very far from the stage.

Beautiful auditorium and free parking, a great setting for a great show. Slightly difficult to get from parking to the lobby on the other side of the building. Allow 5 to 10 minutes to meander through the maze of courtyards. Enjoyed the quieter feel of a smaller city and many decent restaurants in the area. We enjoyed watching the beautiful dance of Shen Yun even with the slightly clumsy religious and political overtones.

I came here with my family for Cultura Fest 2019. The venue is pretty and all, but we didnt like how all of the vendors were spread throughout the different buildings; some were inside, others outside, a few were shoved in awkward corners, and more upstairs. The Drive-In idea is great. But the prices are ridiculously high! Who can afford this? People are not working right now. Why should I pay all that money when I can go to the Drive-In theaters in Santee and in South Bay and pay only $10 a person and I can bring my own food and drinks. 🤷‍♀️

An extraordinary venue that many people have never visited. It has two theaters, one of which seats 1550 and the other seats 350. The sound and lights and other elements in both theaters are practically state-of-the-art. The only negative I can say about the big theater is it has a very confusing layout. Every performance people find it difficult to locate for example the bathrooms.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show,& is a beautiful building, but they DEFINITELY need to have better directions to get to your seating. We spent a good 30 mins trying to figure out where to go you find our seats along with a group of around 15 we ran into in an elevator who were in the same position & just happened to be in our section. So be SURE to look into where EXACTLY your seating is AND how to get to it before getting there or you may end up late into the theatre, since to get to some sections you have to actually switch elevators on OPPOSITE sides of the building on different floors to get there & IF you HAVE to use an elevator instead of stairs like I DO that can be VERY CONFUSING! Other than that (semi my fault for lack of pre-planning issue) they REALLY DO have a GREAT selection of shows that can be enjoyed for ALL groups of people! I definitely recommend anyone looking for an enjoyable night out or special occasion to look into what events they have scheduled... (just look into your seating charts FIRST...;-) and your sure to have a great time)

Attended Palomar Gem& Mineral show at California Center for the Arts, Escondido for the second year and though we didnt visit the museum, per se I can tell you that its a beautiful campus with easy freeway access, plenty of parking, clean facilities and easy one-story access for anyone with mobility concerns.

Plenty of parking and easy to find.The only negative is that there are no vending machines or food/drink sources on site for feeding hungry or thirsty little performers. You have to leave the campus-site to purchase these. When dancers are at competition for 6-7-8+ hours this is hard so pack snacks and drinks!!! (For consumption in the dressing area or just outside the theatre.)

Went here to see “Shen Yun” and wowzers! If you’re on the fence about going to catch this show, DO IT! Apparently the show updates every year, which would keep things fresh. But it seems like it would be almost unnecessary. This was visually stunning, and appealing in every way. We were blessed with excellent seats for the performance, (three rows from the orchestra pit and stage) but I don’t think you can get a bad seat in this venue. Definitely a must to kick off the theatre season!

Used to perform here for my high school symphony orchestra. Used to watch annual Shen Yun traditional dance with my aunt and family. We went to see Shin Yun at the California Center for the Arts on a rainy day during the Omicron mutation of Covid19. My concern was about being exposed. They have an excellent, efficient protocal in place for screening the vacinated and the unvacinated. I felt confident sitting closly with strangers that I would not be exposed. I could relax and enjoy the show which was truly phenomenal.

A very beautiful and well designed venue for a theatre or opera function, but hands down one of the lamest venues Ive ever been to for live music (in this case, Primus on 11/23/14). NO general admission, just seating, and absolutely NO local/neighborhood bars for pre or post gaming. Pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Nice staff, drinks are reasonable. Would never ever go back for another show there.

Were long time Escondidans and have attended CCAE productions before, but this weekends inhouse production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was FANTASTIC! I have recently attended two different productions by Pacific Lyric Opera at the California Center for the Arts. One was of Johann Strauss IIs Die Fledermaus, and the other was Operas Greatest Hits. Both productions featured a marvelous combination of gifted soloists and outstanding local musicians comprising the pit orchestra. This was a great use of two different theater spaces at the Arts Center.

California Center for the Arts is a great place for many indoor and outdoor activities. This weekend they had auditions for children to perform in a play.they are also connected to a parkand a small Escondido Museum. Take a visit, there is a pool and boys and girls Club on the block also. A great place to spend an afternoon.

Saw Lee Brice here on 3/5. Artist was awesome unfortunately the center was unprepared and had 30+ min line for drinks and the venue was hot enough to make the whole crowd pretty uncomfortable. Just came from the Cesar Millan show on March 24th. I was pretty excited, and I had never seen a show there before. I got my tickets a little later then I planned but still pretty early but felt fine that my seats would be in the back. Turns out our seats were upper bacolney. You can not see what is going on on the stage from any of those seats. Stage is blocked. Thought they would use the screen on stage to follow him so we could see but they didn’t. The design of the place is awful! And that they would cheat people knowing they can not see the stage is just wrong. Even if I was to ever go to another show there again, and I will not, and get better seats I wouldn’t go knowing that they charged and cheated others for those bad seats. I will not support them and spend my money there. Very disappointed! Couldn’t see any dogs or any of his techniques.

Celebrating Dia de Los Muertos, I didnt expect too much but, to my surprise there were Aztec dancers, folklorico dancers, and vendors with beautiful art and jewelry 💖 that fit perfectly with the venue.
