2024-02-24 00:20:03Talk to the owner directly and be treated with respect and professionalism. He was able to find the problem with my 81 carburetor that I couldnt figure out for years. His experience is worth it. Dont be easily offended by others who may talk or you see in person who are old school and demand to be respected and seem arrogant. Bottom line is treat eneyone with respect.

2023-08-22 14:34:04The guys run a great shop with top notch service and repair. I was referred by a friend who spoke very highly of them. They made my wife’s Ford Falcon run, drive, and stop perfectly. They did such a great job that I dropped off my other Ford Falcon for them to fix. I have already recommend this place to other friends with classic cars. If you’re patient and willing to pay, the money and piece of mind are well worth it. Good work cost a little more these days. And I’m okay with that. Thanks again fellas!

2023-04-27 20:27:14Amazing place, just recently went a second time to fix issues on my 1985 Thunderbird and Edgar helped me with all my questions, comments and concerns. Great customer service and a very experienced mechanic! Id recommend Calif. Carburetor to anyone out there looking to get their cars fixed. Very honest and passionate about their work! About to go back soon to get my rack and pinion fixed!

2020-03-07 08:42:03My old Toyota was idling really poorly and I performed a number of common checks and maintenance items myself with little improvement. I finally suspected the carburetor was the cause (and groaned). There arent too many carburetor repair shops left nowadays. Its definitely a dying art. Im thankful for the Google community setting my mind at ease and directing me towards California Carburetor with so many positive reviews. I promptly checked out their website--and you should too. Their strong values speak for themselves, and reality didnt disappoint. Its hard to find conscientious and honest mechanics nowadays, especially knowledgeable ones familiar with quirky older cars. Mine was diagnosed and repaired quickly at a fair price. Most of my diagnostic fee was applied towards the carburetor rebuild--a quality job that included all necessary adjustments. I emailed the owner (Tim) a number of questions afterwards and he always responded quickly. He patiently helped me sort out some other issues my car had, didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need, and we got it running great, better than ever in my 7+ years of ownership. I did have to replace a few vacuum hoses myself that may have sustained some extra wear as a result of the job, but thats to be expected when you start pulling apart an old car. Overall, Id say these guys are straightforward, transparent and trustworthy. Im big on value and they provide that. Id definitely visit them again, and recommend them, without hesitation.

2023-04-12 00:30:54They did a fantastic job rebuilding my carburetor and organizing my engines vacuum lines four years ago. However recently seems they don’t care anymore. I spent over $3k recently getting a lot of work done and my car still over heats. When we brought it back they claimed they don’t remember the car. They charged me another $190 just to replace a wire. It was there a few times with no remedy. I have lost confidence and that makes me sad. I will be looking for another mechanic moving forward.

2020-07-30 03:34:14These guys are top notch and honest. Tim runs a tight ship. A shop like this is hard to come by now a days. I have an 82 yota 4x4 which needed a carburetor rebuild. Price was fair and work was good. Hope they stay around for years to come.

2019-11-07 20:46:17Went in after airbag light had been flashing for over a month. I had tried to fix myself (DIY YouTube) but no success. When I went here, they plugged in their computer to find the error code, cleared the issue and didnt even want to charge!I had called other garages, and most wanted $100+ diagnostic fees just to look at the light. How refreshing it was after the long headache to have somebody just help me out and not want to gauge me. I left a well-deserved tip and will be back if I have any other car maintenance needs.

2017-04-20 01:21:22Fair and honest mechanic, every time I bring my vehicle into Tims shop, it is promptly repaired and almost always comes out to what was estimated. I would recommend Tim to anyone.
