Simply the best Ramen in VC! I love the fact how consistent they have been in the taste even after the new owners took over the business. They are a small restaurant so wait times can be a bit higher but trust me, it is worth it! Also try their desert and green tea.

Authentic and delicious ramen! I got the curry ramen & added tofu and mushrooms, just my personal preference. Also got Takoyaki as an appetizer. Decently priced and really good serving size. Server was really friendly and attentive, we were not rushed at all. Will be coming back for ramen cravings :)

For ramen thats about $20… i would’ve expected spectacular ramen! This place did not deliver. Service, was not the best. I have officially come to terms that there is no good ramen spot in Ventura, only in LA… also what was so WILD is the fact that i left no tip because I only tip for amazing service… the server ran out to MY CAR and basically demanded a tip. I said no thats why i crossed out the tip option and she proceeded to cross the 18% tip and i said no thats not what crossing out the tip option means… heres my proof. Im waiting for my credit card to process and hopefully i don’t see an increase from the original price.

Really wanted to love this place.Got the Tonkotsu ramen, Chashu bowl, and the Karaage. Nothing really stood out and oh my God is it over priced...The only thing that I appreciated was that the Tonkotsu ramen noodles had the correct authentic thin noodles.Prices for the quality of food sadly did not match. I mean, about $10 for that Chashu bowl in a smaller size rice bowl that had a rubbery texture to it...really? Id be disappointed even if it was half the price.

Small location but extremely good customer service and food. I ordered the house broth with pork belly and wow is that some of the best tasting Ive ever eaten. The servers are always attentive and responsive.Our appetizer was Gyozu which was cooked perfect! I could visit this place weekly its damn good! Check place out if youre in the area.

Unfortunately, this is my second time here and it is just not very good. I don’t know where all these good reviews have come from. $20 bowls with dry Chashu, overly roasted garlicky broth and semi hard noodles is not great. I think you can see that the chashu is dry in this picture.I feel like a crazy person leaving a review but it’s simply not worth it!!Anyway, thank you for the ramen and make your own mind up but for my 2 cents not great.

This is one of the few restaurants I’ve been to that offers both quality and quantity. By far my favorite ramen restaurant in California, I prefer it over the many spots Ive been to in the Bay and LA. Nothing else in Ventura County comes close to this place. They recently redid their menu and it’s still delicious, their pork is flavorful and fatty, I also always order thick noodles with my ramen.

Used to be an amazing go to place for authentic affordable ramen. The atmosphere used to be so pleasant the music played was relaxing and pleasant. Now since new ownership everything has changed it went way past downhill and I dont see it ever being good again. The food is disgusting compared to how simple and perfect it was. The chasu is dry and overcooked and the broth no longer has the flavor it used to have.Instead of making the broth and chasu good they choose to throw in a bunch of dumb ingredients like corn, seaweed, bean sprouts, etc.. instead of focusing on the core of the ramen. Its so crazy overpriced for what you get. It went from $9 a bowl to $20 why? Because they add corn and a few pieces of seaweed? Thats ridiculous! To simply add bean sprouts to a bowl its so pricey about $2 which is just embarrassing.I used to come here plenty of times and bring friends who would agree with how amazing the food USED to be. Now everyone agrees it sucks some choose to give it multiple chances but it isnt the same cagami ramen we once knew.I genuinely hope this place goes under in the hopes of a better ramen shop coming back in its place. Want food ramen? Go elsewhere! LA is the best probably but even Ventura has a few decent spots that arent crazy expensive or bland.I do want to state that the workers here are the same workers before all the changes and just like the old cagami they are still amazing and good at what they do. If only the rest of the establishment could see that.They turned a prized ramen shop into one of those stupid step 1 pick your base step 2 pick your toppings type of place like its going to make up for crappy food. Lastly music here is complete garbage they play rap compared to the mellow string type music they used to play that actually allowed you to calm down and unwind over good food. Now I can barely think with the dumb obnoxious music. I love rap a lot but its not good to unwind to.

New management, this place has significantly gone down hill. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but in this case it is warranted. They made an authentic, delicious mom and pop shop into an Americanized money grab - about $10-15 more expensive per meal for lower quality food.Shoyu Ramen tasted like spicy ground pepper, noodles were gooey and goopy. Pork pieces were extremely small, and mostly all fat and inedible. My friends Curry Ramen was also goopy and tasted weird / inauthentic. We both always finish our ramen, especially at Cagami - but couldnt finish this time around and left hungry.They charge extra for everything like Eggs now, and it came out whole and the yolk was not the consistency from past experiences. This place has been a staple for us for YEARS and I sadly will not be back and will warn my other friends who loved this place of the new changes.

The quality of the food appears to be different than when I first came here. The tonkutsu is missing that umami. The takoyaki was good, but it was slightly cold in the middle and not as hot. I was actually surprise how quickly the food came out and I think there can be more time spent making sure the quality of the food, especially the broth, meets the customers satisfaction and why we fell in love with this restaurant.

I’ve been a long time fan of Cagami! I’m sad the curry ramen is gonna as it was one of my favorites, but I’m not going to leave hate like the other reviews. Their ramen here is authentic and really good! There is usually a wait which is how you know it’s good. The minute you get in you’re greeted and service is quick. I will say I don’t recommend the karage. Very Oily and not very good. Other then that their ramen is spectacular. They recently added a wonton ramen and it’s a home run. The wontons were great and very crispy. I will say I wish they had more filling. You only get about a penny sized piece of meat. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for something authentic in the area.

We really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it does not live up to expectations. We ordered the tonkatsu and miso ramen and for the price point, it did not deliver. For an expensive price point, it was a bit lacking in toppings and the broth was very bland. Tonkotsu normally has a richness/saltiness/savoriness to it, but this broth was very light. The appetizers were alright, we ordered the karaage and takoyaki and they were okay. I’d prefer to make the drive to LA or OC for better ramen.While the service was quick, it felt like they were rushing us the entire time. The ramen came out before/at the same time as the appetizers, so we couldn’t appreciate the food as well. I understand it gets busy here, but we left within 25 minutes of being seated. We would have liked to enjoy our time a little more without being so rushed. I will not be coming back any time soon.

The food leaves a lot to be desired. It is not that flavorful and they use skinny 99 cent pack type Ramen. To get regular Ramen restaurant sized noodles you have to pay extra. Everything that typically comes with Ramen is available for an upcharge. Overpriced and under delivered.

Best Ramen in Camarillo!!I have heard and read all the amazing reviews for Cagami Ramen. Decided to check it out and I wasnt disappointed. Great food and atmosphere. If you plan on going here for dinner, plan ahead as the restaurant is very small and the wait time could be long depending on when you arrive. All I can say is that it is worth the wait.

I had the best experience at Cagami Ramen. The food is amazing and the service is the absolute best! I ate lunch there on Friday 01/12/2024 and the server and cook made my experience very pleasant. Would highly recommend it. The Orion beer is my favorite Japanese beer and Im extremely grateful that they sell it, along with the miso ramen because that is my absolute favorite ramen along with the takoyaki. I would like to see more desert variety or Japanese fried rice. I absolutely enjoy this restaurant.

UPDATE:Unfortunately the last 4-5 times I’ve been here the food has gone downhill quite a bit. The tsukumen has changed a lot and is lacking its original flavor. Service has been much quicker and it feels like they’re trying to work on speed over quality. It just feels so much lower quality than it used to be, and still very expensive too. I didn’t mind paying $50-$70 for two people but every time we leave it’s just disappointing and hard to return here again. Hopefully they change the food back to how it was and add more of the flavor they used to have but until then it’s hard for me to return :/These guys make insanely good ramen. No food I have ever had before comes close to their Tsekumen, theirTonokstu and Kara miso are also amazing as well. We come here at least twice a week and pay roughly 40-60$ for two people. The atmosphere is great. The front of house staff are always super friendly and although it usually takes 30-45 minutes waiting for a table and waiting for our food, the waitStaff always makes us feel taken care of. When the food comes out it’s always worth the wait, there’s a reason these guys always have long lines out of the door and constant To-go orders. This has been my absolute favorite restaurant in the world. Thank you cagami for all the great memories we’ve had over your Ramen!

Very good flavors and American-sized servings. The Tonkotsu broth has a different flavor than other ramen shops Ive eaten at in Japan and Southeast Asia. But thats to be expected. Every shop has their own recipe.The soup was served a bit too cool for my taste. Maybe they do that on purpose so people dont slurp their noodles in the restaurant - LOL. Next time well order ours extra hot.I prefer the chashu sliced thin. Here, you get two thick chunks of pork shoulder that you need a fork and steak knife to eat. You could easily get six Japanese-style slices of pork out of the two that are served in the soup. Maybe they also do this for American tastes. The pork is lightly fired which gives it an excellent flavor, though.I ordered the curry ramen which had a rich, flavorful soup. My wife, who is from Osaka, had the old school Tonkotsu ramen. We also had gyoza, which was delicious and I really enjoyed the casual izakaya feel.

By far the best (and most authentic) ramen i’ve tasted in Camarillo/Oxnard area 👍🏻 they’ve been closed for a while (or during our last 2 attempts to come here...) and we’re happy that they have re-opened. This is one of my favorite ramen spots, mostly because its close by. Its a great little shop, and theres usually a little bit of a wait. But its so worth it.The old school chashu ramen is so flavorful, and the noodles are great. My personal favorites are the curry ramen and the kuro mayu ramen (black sesame and garlic). These two come with a medium sized noodle, but you can get them with the thinner noodle if youd prefer (like me).The gyoza is also great! I havent personally tried to spicy miso ramen, but Ive been with people who have and they all loved it.

If you enjoy ramen don’t spend your money here. For how much the bowls cost it’s not worth it. I ordered the shoyu bowl with pork and it’s probably one of the blandest bowls of ramen I’ve eaten. There were hardly any veggies or meat and the noodles were congealed (stuck together). Only savior was I took the bowl home and had to doctor it up with some sauces and an egg. Still feels like a big loss paying 15 bucks for an extremely sub par ramen bowl. I should’ve known when I saw a bunch of teenage boys whiter than mayonnaise fixin up the food (bad scene) on a Sunday night. Don’t spend your money here. It’s garbagio

I lived in LA for years and this reminds me of my favorite place in West LA . From what little I know Ramen is Japanese fast food in Japan but these bowls ………… home cooked goodness. Different, savory flavors you wouldn’t cook yourself. Hearty, filling, quick and delicious and reasonable prices for what it is. It’s real food made by the hands of chefs. Quality ingredients aren’t skimped on and it’s a lively joint. My older Mom called it clangy, bangy in there but my son and I went and enjoyed it a lot. They sort of hype it up and call out your order to the nearby kitchen and they call back. It’s kinda cool. Don’t know what to get try the Curry Ramen. You can substitute or add or build your own bowl from a list. To go orders for Mom now but she digs it. Kinda small but makes it fun. Love it!

This is my wife and Is favorite ramen in SoCal. We actually like it more than the ones in liytle Tokyo in LA, and those ones are great too.Also, our babys tummy was super full 😀I generally get the Tonkotsu with pork broth and extra chashu, but you cant go wrong with any of the choices!

Owned and managed by Japanese people. Food is outstanding and service on par too.This is my new favorite restaurant in West Ventura County.I love the Kuro Ma-Yu ramen: pork bone broth seasoned with flame roasted garlic oil, chashu, bean sprouts, green onion, cloud ear mushroom and sesame seeds.I often order their chashu bowl too: small bowl of white rice topped with generous serving of cubed charshu, green onion and sesame seeds.

This place has gone horribly downhill unfortunately. First of all, the place smelled awful and looked filthy like they never give it a proper deep cleaning. There was a sewage smell emanating from the back.Also, the ramen which has always been really good before this was mostly flavorless.The worst part was the meat portions were absolutely non existent. They gave me three of the thinnest slices of chicken Ive ever seen. They used to give thick hearty slices of meat but I guess they decided to cheap out now.I will never go back to this place, they lost me as a customer.

Try the carshue ramen! My daughter got the garlic Ramen which was equally as good but not as meaty. I had my wifes spicy ramen leftovers a couple of days later and even that was good. Overall the place is Okay. The food was great everything tasted good. But the service was great from the lady server but terrible from the young kid. The young kid told us everything I wanted to order was sold out then proceeded to get upset when I had to relook at the menu for what I wanted. But when the lady server came after to take our order apparently none of that stuff was sold out. The young kid went to every other table to offer refills but not once came to our table. Im up in the air to revisit especially if the kid is serving.

Cagami Ramen is hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food is amazing, the service is incredible, and the overall experience is one of the best you can get in Ventura County. This was the most authentic ramen place Id ever eaten at after living in Japan, my absolute go-to place.However, there was recently a menu change that dropped curry ramen from the list, which is why I can only give this place 3 stars instead of its well-deserved 5 stars.Something changed there recently and Im hesitant to order from them because of the huge wait times. Ive been going here since high school with my best friend, and Im happy to see that theyre still in business when I visited again last month. My favorite item, curry ramen, is back!!The taste of the items changed a little bit. I always order either Chasu bowl or curry ramen or both, but the chasu has become dry over time and not as fatty as it used to be. However, the curry ramen that made a comeback still tastes exactly as I remembered it: deliciously brothy and rich.There is always a long queue but its worth the wait for the busy-yet-not-crowded atmosphere and authentic food. They also serve takoyaki now which is very delicious!

This place has been my very favorite restaurant since I moved here in 2020. It has been perfect until recently. I have never seen so many random closures and such a horrible menu change in my life. The choice to take away the Curry ramen is obviously not very smart. You can see on Yelp, it’s not a popular decision to take it off the menu. And with all the random closures, some for weeks, some for a day, some for a few hours like today… you have lost me and my family from your business. TO MANAGEMENT: CHECK YELP!!!-NOT GOOGLE REVIEWS!! GO TO RECENT AND LOOK AT WHAT YOURE DOING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. Today I saw 18 people get turned away because of a random closure from 3:00-5:30, that’s over $500 that could have been made. What a disappointment.

This used to be my favorite ramen spot in all of Ventura County. Back in the day the chashu was phenomenal and my go to order was the Curry Ramen. Theyve recently changed the menu for the worst. They have got rid of the curry ramen, one of their tastiest menu items and one my friends and I got each time we went there. The quality of the chashu has also become increasingly inconsistent. Sometimes its okay, other times its nothing but fat and not meat at all and seems to be barely seared at all.I used to enjoy this place immensely, but if the menu items and quality continues to change (pointlessly), then I see no reason to come back here again.

Compared to the amazing ramen I experienced in Okinawa, Japan, this is the only local place that even comes close to being as good. It might be a small establishment, but the service is amazing and the visit is worth it. This place is probably now one of my favorite local restaurants and it deserves more business.

Mixed feelings on this place. The service was absolutely amazing. Our waiter was the best! And although the soup was flavorful it was incredibly fatty. So much so that as soon as it started to cool after about 20min I could see the fat forming into gelatin. The pork meat was also a very fatty trim and wasnt edible for me. However their tofu appetizer was very delicious. Id still be willing to give it another try but only for their vegetarian soup base.

Cagami ramen has been my go to local Ramen shop since i first became aware of them a few years ago. My first experience was as such: loved the small shop, the atmosphere, the food. I first began my love for this spot with their old school tonkatsu ramen. The broth was rich and had such a profoundly deep flavor. Felt like a broth that was cooked for hours out of pork bones and no short cuts taken. Pure flavor and and love poured into it. Also the broth used the straighter style of ramen noodle that i prefer over the crinkly curley noodle. The straighter noodle for whatever reason simply hold the broth way better and its the perfect cehicle for getting that delicious broth from bowl to my mouth. Im a person of habit and when I find a menu item i really like I dont tend to change it. But one day i decided to try something new and saw they had a Maze Soba on the menu, back when it was still made with ground chicken. LOVED IT. So flavorful, so tasty, became my new favorite and go to item.This is The part where I explain why i gave them 3/5 stars. Not too long ago the downfall of Cagami began. About a year ago, more or less they went through a change for the worse. My go to went seemingly missing from the menu for a time. No matter I will go back to my old go to i guess. Then the Maze Soba came back but was no longer made with ground chicken but with Pork. I thought “well hey i do like pork more than chicken so it will probably be amazing”. It was good no doubt, but it was no longer the flavor bomb it once was. Big disappointment. Their Chashu also became VERY inconsistent. It used to be amazing, tender, melt in your mouth, and then it just took a 180. Sometimes great, sometimes chewy, dry (how?), fat wasnt rendered correctly. I used to frequent Cagami so much but after this change I began to go less and less opting to drive further into the LA area for Ramen.Anyway the final nail in the coffin happened upon my visit today. The Curry Ramen is no longer on the menu. The Old School Tonkatsu, I dont know if it was a bad day, bad batch, or if they changed the noodles, but the noodles were so bad. I cant even explain it. Lifeless, texture all wrong. Im writing this in hopes that Cagami will know that im not a troll, im not a hater, my 3/5 comes from feeling like Cagami has gutted themselves and are on a downslope that could end with their end and I dont want that. I really like Cagami as they used to be, but i dont know how i feel about them now.

Servings keep shrinking and price keeps going up. I have been eating here regularly since it opened and have seen the rise of the price while at the same time the servings keep getting less. Take the Tan Tsukamen - dipping ramen.From two side dishes - a small bowl ground chicken and bean sprouts to just one side dish the ground chicken, instead of a small bowl it was in a tiny sauce container and the bean sprouts added to the noodles to make it look like the noodles are lot which also was reduced. The irony was the price went up. Last night, i went back and now, they took out the ground chicken and you just get the dipping soup and noodles with beansprouts toppings and bokchoy with 2 slices of bbq pork plus chili paste on the side. The bbq pork was not the typical ramen pork it was sliced of fatty pork that was just fried or bbq. not the usual pork in their old menu. The addition of that bbq pork made it an odd combination with ramen sauce.I don’t mind paying the extra increase but don’t change the quality and servings. Customers are there expecting quality food and commensurately servings. I do appreciate the honesty of the lady server.

Ramen is one of my favorite meals and Cagami is the best Ive found in Ventura county. My favorite is the traditional tonkotsu, as the broth is super flavorful and the components cooked to perfection. Ive tried other dishes from Cagami which have also all been delicious, including the tan tan tsukemen (dipping ramen), maze soba (udon without broth), and shoyu ramen, but I always come back to the tonkotsu. The staff is super friendly and attentive, the beers are always cold, and although there sometimes may be a short wait, the service is quick and always worth the wait. 10/10 would recommend.

I always tell people that its like the best ramen shops found in LA, which explains the wait list for a table. I have always loved ramen. It wasnt until I was an adult that I learned what good ramen truly was. On my most recent trip to Japan to visit family I ate at Ippudo which has the best tonkatsu ramen I have ever had. I left Japan believing that I would never have ramen that good again. Cagami ramen comes closer to true Japanese ramen than any other ramen Ive had state side. The ramen is simple and clean flavored. Nothing to distract from core flavors of good quality ramen. The price is reasonable (actually cheaper than Ippudo) for the size bowl you get. I have had their tonkatsu, chashu, and karamiso ramens. Karamiso is my favorite but the chashu and tonkatsu were also great. A friend of mine had the curry ramen and the tan tan tsukemen which they really enjoyed. I would recommend this to anyone looking for authentic high quality ramen for a good price.

Extremely delicious ramen! Totally exceeded my expectations. I got the tan tan tsukemen dip ramen which is thick noodles in a bowl that you dip in a concentrated bowl of broth. Chef Yuye provides the tantan spicy pork on the side and it makes for a very savory and satisfying dish especially on a hot day!The bone broth flavor really comes through. The chef explained that the pork used to be in the dip broth but people would have a hard time getting it all. So to make sure people enjoyed their dish maximally he now serves it on the side. When your Japanese friend tells you to try a ramen place, you do it. Now I understand why ramen is such a thing. So, so, SO good. I go for the traditional Tonkotsu ramen, and the tuna tataki. Theyre so delicious, I see no reason to risk trying anything else on the menu.

Small, quaint ramen restaurant with a minimal menu. Had the Tonkotsu Ramen with cooked salmon rice bowl. The rice bowl tasted better than the ramen; simple texture of the salmon with roe. The ramen...not enough noodles for the price. Plus, the broth was way too salty. Only come if you really need a ramen fix in downtown Camarillo.
