Service and food were excellent. Went multiple times on a quick trip to the area. Food was good and service was above my expectations. The tresleche was enough for two. I found the prices fair. The add on prices were a little surprising, $2.69 for extra guacamole.

Tortillas are made fresh!!! I absolutely loved the variety of drinks and the mint limeade is a must! The horchata was fresh too! We had pollo Asado tacos and a burrito. Highly recommend for a quick bite to eat that has significantly more flavor than the other big chain taco burrito place ;)

Wow, this place is absolutely amazing! Its so well-managed, clean, and everything is perfectly organized. And let me tell you, the food here is beyond delicious! Matthew, Jasmine and Pam were on top of their game. Even as it gets late into the work shift the atmosphere is great. I ordered a quesadilla with chips and elote. A simple order but they take things above and beyond. Serving great food with excellent service. I drove 26 minutes to get to their location and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you again for a job well done.P.S. they deserve a raise $$$

Not sure what is going on at this location. It seemed like the workers were all running around unsure what to do and when to do it. when someone pulled my burrito off the oven, it sat on the counter for about 5 min as I was waiting to get lettuce and pico- as workers were walking around and not finishing any orders. The black beans were rock hard when I bit into them, the guacamole was a brownish color. The cashier left in the middle of ringing me up and had to sit for another 5 min to wait for someone else to take my card. It caused a big line to form. If a manager reads this- I feel like your staff need to be properly trained- no one was sure what their roles were or how to do them. It was disorganized chaos.

One of my all-time favorite places to eat in the city of Los Angeles. The food is delicious and affordable. They actually have daily specials. The staff is always welcoming, upbeat and friendly. The service is fast, this helps because the line can be long during lunch hrs but it moves pretty quickly. The drinks are delicious. They have military discount. I cant say anything bad about this place. Did i mention the food is AMAZING! I eat here weekly and my stomach thanks me every time. Do yourself a favor and get the barbacoa enchiladas they are FIRE!

Very unprofessional and poor communication. I applied for an assistant manager position. Sounded like a great opportunity. I then received a text message the same day to come in for an interview. The interview was scheduled for today 04/12/2024 at 4 pm. I then commuted from my college dorm in San Dimas all the way to Manhattan Beach and arrived 10 minutes early only to find out and I quote Alicia “the manager is not here today his name is Edgar. We will have to reschedule you.” I then texted the hiring manager again and explained what happened. A minute later I receive a phone call from a woman who read my resume to me over the phone and then asked me “did you apply to be a team member?” I clarified to her that I had applied to be an assistant manager then she told me “we don’t hire anyone without management experience for that position” which is totally fine with me. What’s not okay is the unprofessionalism, miscommunication, and the waste of my time. The first red flag was that the hiring manager wasn’t even there to begin with. I didn’t get the job but even if I did, why would I want to work for a company who can’t even communicate properly much less, SHOW UP for the interview? You could have not even called me in for the interview if only you properly read my job application what position I applied for. I commuted an hour and thirteen minutes and even paid 3 dollars to use the FasTrak freeway on the 110 to avoid traffic.

This location is incapable of getting a web/mobile order correct. Ive been eating here since they opened and EVERY single web/mobile order Ive ever placed is wrong. When I pick it up in person they always have to go re-cook it, and Im not talking fussy customizations. I order (3) double shredded chicken tacos and (1) double fire grilled chicken tacos and Ill get some other mix of proteins. I ask for no beans and rice on something and it comes with beans and rice. I order chips and guac and the guac comes 1/4 full this evening, one scoop and the bottom of the cup is visible. I dont understand what happened as the first few years this location was open it was perfect, but the last few years the to-go staff is completely incompetent at reading and fulfilling a web order. So frustrating...

The Barbacoa deserves 5 stars. But you really need to know & pay attention how you order your food. My nachos had cheese only on the top 25% of the chips. The others were plain. I should have asked them to take out the impressive amount of chips they put in & layer them with cheese. & if you dont know what yo ask for, like myself first time used to going to Mexican restaurants were the nachos come filled with everything. I only realized half way in when I was faced with nothing but plain chips that I didnt ask them to add beans & they didnt offer. It also doesnt come with Guacamole - extra pay. Dont do it. One of the worst I ever had. Or souer cream. Also extra for the tiniest container.The pico the Gallo was super fresh & so where the chips.The service was super welcoming & friendly. But, you need to know what to ask for. Its not up to the employees discretion to pile your order with ingredients you didnt ask for.I ended up paying 20$. I will choose nachos at ANY authentic Mexican Restaurant over this.

Place used to be a lot better. Now every time I come in I have at least a couple issues. The service here is honestly really poor and they are rushing your order so fast that they don’t actually take the time to listen to get it correct or serve you a good quality order. Sucks because the food itself is actually pretty good most of the time when they don’t mess it up completely or screw up the transaction at the cashier. I used to be an everyday customer but now I will only go there at most twice a month just to get the Taco Tuesday deal. Sad to see what happened

If I could rate this place a 0 I would. They literally messed up my order 5 TIMES OK! That’s pretty pathetic. I don’t know who’s in charge at this restaurant but it’s no reason my order should have been screwed up this many times. I’ve been waiting for my food since 6pm and it’s 9pm and I still don’t have my correct order. A few weeks ago I ordered a salad, it arrived with no dressing. I ordered it again in the same day and I received my salad with the salad dressing spilled al inside the bag. Today I order the same thinking thinking maybe the last time it was just a bad day. NOPE! They’re pretty consistent with no including the correct items you order and giving you someone else’s order. I ordered again and guess what? I received 2 burritos with an excessive amount of queso on top. Like who eats a burrito with queso on top? Long story short I still don’t have my salad or my salad dressing. I am NEVER ORDERING FROM THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. Oh and when I called customer service I spoke with Connie who was rude to me as if I did something wrong and she hung up in my face when I asked to speak with her supervisor or someone more professional who enjoyed working in customer service providing service to the paying clients that are keeping her employed. I’m pretty sure she hates her job. I can tell.

Update:I once really like the food here I recently went to the ManhattanBeach location and I was not happy with the service. I purchase A chicken bowl and was very displeased With the service as well as Portion size.I spent seventeen dollars and Some change When not even half the plate was full. As IOrder my food the server Was coughing while Dealing with the food I suggested that she put on a mask When dealing with food And she said nothing was wrong.She was clearing her throat, but you Should not be clearing your throat while serving food in front of customers. I come to this location very often and receive the same tasteless service. Rushed and doesn’t cater to customers needs. As a pescatarian, I was truly thrilled to learn about the September Salmon/October shrimp options, however, the salmon and shrimp have been overly cooked as well as drowned in grease tasting like burnt oil. $20 constantly down the drain due to poor food management. It sucks to only be pleased with a vegetarian salad every time coming to this restaurant.

This location is much better than their location in Lancaster.I was able to get a salmon burrito amd they allowed me to have lettuce, tomato and salsa inside the burrito where in Lancaster it was like i was in communist China. Here is my detailed rating. I would add they seem to salt the salmon which id rather then put less on but i still rates the flavor high.Quality: 10/10Staff friendliness: 10/10Flavor: 10/10Portion size: 10/10They make own tortillas which is great. Its not traditional Mexican but has great food at this location.

Came here with my family on the way back from a road trip. We got 2 pork salads and a steak tostada. They were out of house dressing at the line, but they had some at the to go counter. However, they told us that it was only for to go orders and we couldnt get any. They also rang us up incorrectly and charged us for 2 steak tostadas and a pork tostada (the steak costs more). Not only that, but there was a hair in my moms food and the hard inedible end of the lettuce in mine. Awful experience overall.

Disappointed but what can you expect…Firstly, this is my second time coming. and of course the line was long. as always, i don’t think that correlates to how good the food is but shows how understaffed the establishment is.Secondly for a burrito or nachos with guacamole/sour cream, you are paying 13-15 bucks for each. This does not include a drink and the guacamole did NOT look fresh. Thirdly, as a native Californian (perhaps i am spoiled) I know guacamole shouldnt look like its been sitting out for a whole day or look like a thick verde salsa. and also, why would any of us pay $1 extra for the hottest sauce yet you dont specify that i will pay extra for the hottest sauce?! Taste isn’t always the same, portions have dramatically reduced (esp the meat… you can barely taste it on a burrito now), and the prices!!!! The food lead, Angie was a rockstar! It was busy w customers in line and mobile orders. She balanced it not allowing live customers to feel slighted but getting those orders DONE! She was also meticulous about the griddle and keeping it cleaned. The cashier, Kareli (sp?) Was speedy and really sweet and attentive. My husband and loves this food, except today we had a bad experience with the girl that was serving and getting the orders, she is color mix, litteraly she was flirting to my husband totally ignoring me asking for my orders. My hubby feel uncontrollably try to avoid eye contact and she keeps even twinkling her eye at him. To us that was unrespectful, we didnt want to make a scene in there. So try to be professional and have a nice customer service. Im sorry to post this but has to stop this young lady being unrespectful. I even complained to the cashier she didnt know what to say. It wasnt crowded when I entered the restaurant. I wasnt really happy with their service. I had a hard time hearing one of the workers. The worker didnt even offer if I wanted sour cream or lettuce in my wet burrito so I had to request it. As soon the burrito popped out of the oven, another worker puts so little salad. I was annoyed by how much she puts in it and I had requested for more lettuce. Then again she put another small amount of lettuce, I was getting annoyed by her laziness and I just wanted to get out of their restaurant. If I was working there, Id make sure Id satisfied my customers and paying attention to what the customer wants. This is poor service and they need serious training. I felt that if I was Hispanic or Caucasian, they would treat me differently.

My family and I went to the Rio in West Hills and were treated so kindly by all the staff. We had such a pleasant experience I could not stop thanking the staff for the kindness and patience with us. This place is usually my go to favorite spot. The nachos are my favorite. Today I came in and noticed there was some new staff, cool. The two younger guys working the front were so rude and unprofessional. I asked for the medium green salsa, he informs me that it’s extra but proceeds to give me the wrong one and I told him I didn’t ask for that. He tells me it doesn’t really matter they’re basically the same… then on my nachos I asked for extra meat, I only get one scoop. I’m paying extra for all of this and to not get it and receive attitudes when I question it is crazy. This is the first time I’ve ever had a bad experience with them in all the time I’ve been going.

Some of your workers NEED lesson in food preparation and handling!!! They seem kinda rude and impatient too!! They dont even know the right way to prepare flour tortillas and to keep their customers order warm! I Went in to buy the 2 for .99 cents 6 flour tortillas fir snack and one of the girls behind the counter just dumps it into the round foil tin pans opened and just passes it down like they didnt care!!! They used tin pan where they usually prepare the burritos and tacos in, instead of rolling my 2 tortillas into a foil which I thought they usually do so it can keep it warm!! And I was taking it to go too! But WHEN a customer in front of me also ordered the same 2 flour tortillas aside from his Taco order, the person behind the counter wrapped his flour tortilla in foil and HIS order was for DINE IN!! If you are really are a Mexican descent then you should know the right way to keep tortillas warm by wrapping them in foil whenever customers buy it, and NOT dump it into those foil pans in open air where it will get cold quickly by the time we pay for it!! Learn to do your jobs the right way! It doesnt take brain surgery!!!

I love the salads here. The tortillas are my new addiction. Theyre a little pricier than your traditional Mexican restaurants, but delicious nonetheless. The line is always out the door. I would encourage them to be a little more diligent with their online orders. Most people with tight schedules (like me) dont have time to wait in that line. So the convenience of having the food ready when you arrive is appealing. However, I have never had my meal ready when I arrived. The longest Ive waited has been 30 minutes. I could have just gotten in line. I understand that the customers in front of you take priority, but what about the customers that have already paid for their food? There needs to be a better way to regulate this process or just eliminate the online ordering.

Tried to order multiple times for delivery. They’ll take the order (and the money) then cancel. Corporate will eventually connect you to the store, where they’ll apologize and say they’re too busy for deliveries via their own service OR DoorDash.Try somewhere else- there are MANY options for Mexican food in LA.

The lady who yells is always rude to me. She never displays her name tag, but its the older lady with the pudgy face and a loud voice. Every time I try to order she makes it difficult with an impatient attitude accompanied with ugly looks as if im irritating her. I finally walk up to the register and the line cook finally acknowledged me. I ordered two separate items. I would only go on Tuesdays for the special, because the food really isnt worth $10. That being said, use their app to order your food 15 to 30 minutes before you actually want to arrive. If you come before your time you listed, you will have to wait for all the other orders to be filled before your food will be made. If there is a big order before you, then today was a bad day to get food from here because your food might be 15 to 30 minutes late. I dont know why they dont put a food limit on each time slot, for example only 20 food orders can be placed at 11am. So, if a large 30 order comes in, they would take up the 11 and 11:15 time slots and nobody else can pick up their food at that time. Great food, good prices!! There is a nice atmosphere everytime. I enjoy the options for beverages and I keep coming back. I personally love the guac. My whole family like to eat here because it is in a nice location with other shops to browse after eating. The staff is friendly and efficient. Highly recommend going here!!

Worse Cafe Rio ever and I’ve been to several from Utah to California. Tried to order their online special and app crashed. Tried to explain to the manager that they sent an email to use promo code and she won’t do it. Worst customer service ever from a Cafe Rio. This is one reason why I’m not returning to Cafe Rio after eating here since the 90s!!!

The food is always fresh and tasty but some of the employees touch too many non food items without changing gloves before preparing orders and the way they wipe down the food service area is not ok, some of the spilled articles fall into the food trays on the counter that are used for preparation of customers orders and the towels are reused (so unsanitary on top.of unsanitary) I will seriously reconsider before returning. You would think post covid the cleaning and serving practices would be much better

Visited around 6 p.m. not really crowded. Stations were very dirty. Old dry food needing to be wiped up. Containers empty. No backup meet ready. Staff look sloppy. Messy.day.I have been there on better days.

Great place to grab a quick bite. If you get the chance, go on Tuesdays and youll get a steep discount. The lines can get a bit long, but you can always order online if youre in a rush and the food will be ready for you to pick up when you arrive

Order at the counter.... Same concept as Chipotle. I rather spend my money at Rio. Yup, that good :)Barbacoa salad is my favorite thing to get here!!! Always like the food here. Very tasty and healthy. My only complaint is that they mess up custom orders and regularly forget the guacamole in the veggie tostada. But I still enjoy it a lot anyway.

I tried this location here in. Manhattan Beach, CA it was great. This location redeemed my decision to continue eating at any Cafe Rio. Thanks for having great grilled chicken.After trying Cafe Rio in Lakewood, CA. Where I ordered a salad and my meat choice was grilled chicken. However, that chicken was so tuff and hard to chew, it was a waste of our money.My family and i first discovered Cafe Rio in August 2020 in Flagstaff, Az.That first time at Cafe Rio was such a great experience in Flagstaff, Az. Their grilled chicken was moist and delicious, and the portions were proper. And the staff was kind explaining what you get for your buck.Cafe Rios food in Az was so good, we ate there three times during our visit in Flagstaff.This location Manhattan Beach location has great food. Yes i will return to this location again.

So glad these are now in southern California. The salads and tacos are great. They also have hand made tortillas and the best crunchy ice around. No need to drive an hour away to get ice from sonic.

Delicious but the kitchen(food prep) area looks disgusting!! As I was in line I wanted to walk out because that was a huge distraction. Mess everywhere! Exceptional food, great taste and great atmosphere. My wifes favorite is the Sweet Pork Quesadilla with a side of their cilantro ranch (if Im ever in the doghouse this is my go to meal for her). I love the enchiladas with Steak, chicken, or pork. You really cant go wrong here! PLUS they have free niño quesadillas for kids under 6! 5 stars hands down.

My wife order the vegetarian quesadilla, which seemed like it would come with rice, beans, and quac inside the quesadilla, but no, only cheese. Then the server didnt give her rice and beans even though she asked, and by the time I realized, the line was long and it wouldve taken another 5 minutes. As for the food, that was the worst quesadilla either one of us has ever eaten, not exaggerating. My shredded chicken enchilada was merely bad - the sauce was weirdly sweet and the quac had too much lime (which made it watery and pretty acidic). In short, the food was bad to terrible (though perhaps other items are better), the service was bad, and the prices were too high.

My boyfriend had Cafe Rio for the first time at a different location and wanted me to try it because he enjoyed it so much. We went here and stood in line for about 30 minutes (most likely due to people not knowing what they want), both got quesadillas, one pulled chicken and one grilled chicken. They ran out of guac and instead of waiting for a refill, the worker scraped whatever she could and put it on my boyfriends plate, then passed it down along with my plate. She didnt even bother putting any on mine and my boyfriend had to go back and ask for some. The quesadilla itself was pretty mediocre. I dont plan on coming back here. Maybe a different location, though.

One of the best fast casual Mexican food places around! If you havent had the sweet barbacoa then that is a must try! They have great chips and queso, a lot better than Chipotles queso. The guacamole needs some work, its pretty bland. But overall it is delicious and I highly recommend it!

They nickel and dime you for everything! I understand guac is extra but salsa and sour cream are also? And the scoop is so tiny that I didnt find my guac until I got to the bottom of the salad! And I would prefer the stems are removed from the cilantro, they were super long and annoying! Not worth $15. Will stick with Chipotle.

This place reminds me of Chipotle. The food is good as are the prices, but the tostada seems more like a salad and the salad seems more like a tostada. Just be careful if they find out its your first time there - the employees might break into song.

Overall a good mexican food commercialized, casual eaterie. Clean, good food, with moderately higher-priced burritos. You choose from 1 of 4 meats, between pinto beans or black beans, and between which variety of rice you want. Good red sauce, good choices of sauces or salsa, and either flour or corn tortillas. There is a relatively good amount of seating, and the line always moves fast. Just bring your appetite and your $12. Cafe Rio has yummy food.

I actually give no stars. Horrible service and the management has no idea what he’s doing. I’m highly allergic to cheese and of course I let them know. Still, the manager insisted on putting cheese on it and had a sassy attitude with me because he didn’t want to start over. First and last time!

The kid that took my order did not listen to what I ordered it was made wrong then, they dropped it on the floor then remade my order wrong again. The shredded pork was almost like mush no texture I would not go back.
