The scenic marina offers stunning views of the marina, yachts. I love this spot for outdoor activities like jogging.The boat launching, dockage, its impressive. The restaurants, shops, and hotels, make it a vibrant and bustling hub of activity and night life. I love coming here

Wonderful park!This park is really great, from location to maintenance to events it always does a great job. The views and atmosphere is spectacular. The sea lions are hilarious and fun to watch. Just walking through or having a BBQ and picnic, we always enjoy our time here.

Christmas Boat Parade. Nice community and family event held yearly, event is from 4-8pm the parking was $8. Many came with blankets to sit on grass, also had food and drinks. I bought my folding chair with me. Boats and the park was decorated beautifully. Dog friendly park. Restrooms remained open the entire event, although lines tend to be long for ladies at times. I didn’t see a playground for children but lots of space to run and play, there was arts and crafts for kids. Overall, nice, this is an event I plan to attend yearly.

Love this park. Ample parking, wonderful trails, boat watching, BBQs, it has it all. But remember that with all the different groups, and parties it can get really loud. Today someone was blaring music that filled the park, whether you wanted it or not

A truly lovely little green space along the harbor.Well maintained park space with gazebo and lots of seating optionsA sidewalk borders the park space with lots of benches, some picnic tables and lots of marina to appreciate.I enjoyed breakfast along the marina (boat parking) and admired the blue skies and people passing by.I love that dogs /pets are allowed here. They do have to be on leash, but its such a nice place to walk dogs and children alikeFree wifi available hereThere are water fountains along the park as well as bathrooms available. There is a bulletin board in the middle of the park with ongoing /upcoming events at the park.

Lovely peaceful waterside setting, with sufficient parking (free on weekdays!) and a diverse array of visitors any time of day.Sea lions provide entertaining viewing for kids and adults. A bucolic hilltop gazebo is a great place for serious discussions, impromptu photo shoots, meditation and everything in between.Lots of great places to dine nearby.This park is also quite accessible. At one point, I was restricted to using a walker, and still managed to have an enjoyable stroll on the paved portions of the grounds.Years ago I used the bathroom inside the community center located there and found them clean and better than my expectations for a public restroom.

First time being at burton chace park and i gotta say, i love it! It has alot of space perfect for events. Speaking of events today dec 31 2022 i am visiting because there is 2 firework shows scheduled at 9 and 12 p.m. Its a perfect spot for walking with ur loved ones and enjoying the scenery. There is public bathrooms available, also theres alot of benches so u can chill after a long walk. There is a few food trucks available and from experience the food is very tasty!

Small park but great location and great use of space. Picnic tables, lots of benches BBQ stations make the park an easy place to spend time. The seal watching is wonderful. Parking is free during the week but requires payment on weekends. Washrooms are always clean and well maintained

This is a great park with some wide open spaces. There are free events here all summer long. I saw Blue Oyster Cult play here about 6 years ago. You can bring your pups but they must be leashed and cleaned up after.

This is a great place in Marina Del Rey to come and watch the sunset.There are plenty of picnic tables and grills. There is free wifi, not high speed though. pets are welcome. Also there are usually seals lounging on the docks surrounding the park.It is usually busy on the weekends and Parking is hard to find unless you get there extremely early. But during the week it is quiet and parking is usually available.There is a Trader Joes nearby if you want to pick up food for a last minute picnic.

Lovely park where you can watch the seals sunbathe on the jetty! I found Burton Chase Park to be very well-kept and laid out. It is fairly flat with paved sidewalks, which make it very accessible (whether you have a mobility issue, or just want to take your kids out for a gentle ride on their trikes). It is pet-friendly and has free WiFi, though I admit I had a hard time getting the WiFi to work. Reception was spotty and slow. The marina was easy to navigate with numbered berths. I did find some areas to be pretty messy with bird droppings, though. We took our shoes off before we got on board the boat. There is also a dog run at the park, though it looked more like an oversized, open-top cage. If you have a small to medium sized dog, its probably a very good size. There is paid parking beside the park (0.25$/10 minutes) and overnight parking in Lot 77, just beside the park lot (6-8$/night, depending on the season). The parking was quite safe, and the park/parking lot are frequently checked by police. My rental car was untouched when I left it there overnight (to my great relief). I found the parking meters were in need of updating, though, as they charged me 8$/night for parking during the billing period where they were supposed to charge me 6$. Nothing to break the bank, but it cut into my tip money for the bars later! Speaking of, the park is right across from Venice Beach (you can sail over by dinghy in about 20 minutes, or drive by car in 10). Overall it was a very good stay, and the berths were sheltered and quiet overnight—with the exceptions of the seals barking.

Its a nice place for a morning run with your dog. Covered by the Marina Del Rey Basins. Was there to checkout the sunrise, but unfortunately it was a cloudy day. Dogs should be on leashes, theres a lot of pigeons and gulls.

It is so peaceful here. If you want to BBQ on the weekend come EARLY, it is first come first use based. Park is very clean. Great summer Concerts. The $1.00 water bus is nice to do as well. It will take you through the harbor. Perfect place for a picnic.

A nice park. On the day we visited there was a festival going on so it was very busy. Nice looking out to the marina and watching the boats. Plenty of shade in the park to bring a picnic lunch. Lots of breeze coming from the marina so even on a warm day, may want to bring a light jacket. Nice mixture of paved paths and grass for children to run around. There are bathrooms in the visitors center including a gender neutral accessible restroom.

This review is for the 2024 New Years Eve fireworks display. This event was an absolute disaster and a textbook case of how NOT to manage a massive crowd of people. There were thousands of people trying to find non-existent parking. All the nearby lots in walking distance were packed. I have never seen such a frightening traffic situation and I was desperate to go home. While looking for non-existent parking at the strip mall parking lot across the street a truck decided to block everyone else and watch the fireworks forcing everyone to wait in the packed lot until they were done. What fireworks we could see through the grove of trees was pitiful compared to NYCs Coney Island and the East River. Such a terrible and underwhelming experience. The fireworks should not be hosted here but at a venue that can accommodate the massive number of people that arrive here by car. A shuttle bus should be provided at large parking lots farther away to move the human traffic in a more efficient manner.

We held my brothers Baby Splash here. The people running the park are nice and helpful. They provide electricity for the area being rented. They also provide chairs and tables. There are areas to sit but extra chairs isnt a bad thing. They provide a push cart for pushing item from the car. It was a life saver.They also provide trash cans for the event. The trash cans came in handy after the wind knocked over 2 of our glass items. And for all trash we didnt need.The environment: If you want a private event this may not be the place for you. Becuase it outside there are people everywhere. But the views of the marina makes up for it. The water, trees and air is perfect.Definitely a great place for a wedding.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise this park was! We wanted to check it out and were so excited to get there and realize that it is a common hang-out for the local sea lions, who can be seen lounging and barking on the piers right next to the park. It was like a zoo experience, with the wild animals so close and so active! The park is also well-maintained and has beautiful views of the marina.

My wife and I live near the Marina and we LOVE to walk here. Almost every day we find ourselves strolling to this park and seeing the community enjoy the park too.Most of the time I love to see the sea lions, however, they do STINK. If youre planning a picnic be sure to find a spot that isnt downwind from them.

Love this park but today, while my daughter and her nanny were playing there, a homeless man sat on their blanket, opened my 2.5 year old daughters bag and ate her food out of her lunchbox. Our nanny had to chase him away (as his pants were falling down - he wasn’t wearing underwear) while my daughter watched. There are always homeless people there (as there are at any park in LA) but this crossed a line. Posting here as an FYI to all. Kids should be entitled to play in a park without this kind of thing happening.

This is such a beautiful park. You can people watch, cookout, enjoy the marina, and even see sea lions and dolphins. I recommend you bring some warm clothes or a blanket in the evenings. It got very chilly from the wind coming off the water. Use this park to celebrate a birthday as we did, or any other occasion. As long as you are prepared youre going to love it.

Great place to hang out for all ages. The marina views are excellent. On some Sundays, when I walk through the park the smell of ethnic foods are so delicious and you can hear 20 different languages. The miniature LA melting pot. Some holidays the sheriff is though yet cool, they ignore someone sipping on a glass of wine, it feels like San Francisco. Lets keep it cool.

I visited Burton Chase park at 3PM on a Wed. Saw a few people in the park but mostly open areas. Plenty of seating on benches, picnic tables, grassy areas, shade or sun shine whatever your choice was there was plenty of open space. Perfectly manicured grass, beautiful trimmed trees. Nice and quiet. Sort of neat to watch the larger pleasure craft cruise into the Marina. Plenty of public parking. Definitely a place to eat lunch and there is a Trader Joe’s just before the park.

This local park is a lovely area in the marina looking out over the channel used by families and friends to sit and watch the boats sail by. You can use the designated BBQ areas as well as catch the water taxi. There is plenty of parking and bike lock up areas. I love it.

My family and I came here to see the fireworks show in July 4th 2019 and it was so much fun. It does get so crowded but you can come early to get a good spot. The ambiance was great when we got here at 7pm. People were paying music and having barbecues and there were so many children running around enjoying the park and the show at night. Next time we visit this park we will have to be there early and enjoy the park.

Relatively small park with a few picnic benches and trees with wide canopies for shade. The park abuts the marina and today (March 20, 2021) I saw dozens of seals sunbathing by the adjacent docks. Parking can be challenging and 90 minutes costs $3, no matter the day. Theres a public restroom and a Trader Joes (along the newly paved bike path) is a quick walk from the park entrance. Folks largely maintain social distancing and mask-wearing guidelines. Cyclists and pedestrians may have an easier time accessing the park.

This is my absolutely favorite park. The energy here is incredible! I am usually here at least once a week. The trees are beautiful and nourishing. The grounds are kept well.Its a great place to lie on the grass or on a bench and read a book. The parking is easy. My favorite tree is here. The police/sheriff in the area seem to be a little over the top, as I witnessed one unjustly harassing a skateboarder in the street for absolutely NO reason. Be aware and careful in the area.

This lovely little park in Marina Del Rey is run by LA County Recreation and Parks Dept. and bordered on three sides by water. Two of these sides are guest docks supplying mostly side ties, water, and electricity to visiting boaters. Rates are reasonable and the office is open late seven days a week. The park itself is lovely with well kept grassy areas, lots of trees, picnic areas, BBQ stoves, and sun shades. The walking paths are well maintained. Parking close by is limited and metered. There us a pay for it parking lot about a block away.

With all the times that Ive walked through Marina Del Rey, I had no clue this park even existed until I randomly saw multiple people walking towards the park one evening. Turns out, Burton Chace Park was holding its free summer concert series featuring R&B/soul singer Leela James.Its a very engaging, spacious, and family-friendly landscape with multiple sitting areas and great views of the marina. Ill definitely have to check it out again when there isnt a concert happening.

Great park. Beautiful and right on the water. There isnt a playground but theres lots of room and a great view. Theres also great space for bbqs.The park has a community center and often has community events like fairs, movie nights and jazz nights.People get married there. We had a memorial for a loved one there.Just tonight we got a group of friends together and watched the fourth of July fireworks show.

Destination for walks with the peaceful sounds of seagulls, boats bobbing in water while strolling up marina sidewalk. There are several pergolas to hang out providing shade and tables to have picnic lunch. Summertime shows at water edge. Sweet experience. Bring a chair, a blanket. They have 2 screens now, one next to stage, the other on east side when seating in front of stage room runs low. If you can get a seat in front of sidewalk, its better. I came here for the Halloween event and i really liked it. There were games, inflatable bounce houses, and spots for pictures. There was a section that was scarier with a maze, an escape and a scare room. They has a haunted ship and it was a neat place for kids. There were people dressed up in costumes, food trucks, restrooms, and dogs on leashes. There was a lot of space and the decorations were really nice.

Ive been coming here for years. The land is a small man-made peninsula sandwiched between two of the finger waterways of the marina. The landscape is undulating with lush, established foliage and trees. There are reservable, covered picnic areas with tables/benches & bbqs. The little peninsula is also surrounded by short term/guest docks which include bathrooms/showers. Last night we were there to see a free concert. These go on all summer. Its a lot of fun.

I love this park, I watched fireworks here at 4th of July and it was amazing. Sometime I take a skateboard with me and enjoy the view of green trees and grasses with blue water and sky and white boats and reefs. A lot of seagulls and sealoins rest here. Parking is convenience.

I love going to this park. I feel safe walking my dog here and there is usually some seals hanging out on the docks being silly. They also have free wi-fi in the park if you just want to bring your laptop and hang out at a picnic table or just sit on the grass. It’s a nice way to relax and just watch the boats go by. They have a bbq area also and it’s free to park during the week. Not sure what the rates are for Saturday and Sunday though.

Poor experience with the park staff member Tiffany; we came today at 10.30 am to enjoy some picnic with kids. All tables empty- no reserved signs. I chose a random table and set up some fruit for kids and sandwiches. After 30 min a lady came up wearing regular clothes and without introducing herself said “you must pack up and leave within a minute”. I asked why and she said these tables are all reserved. I said as no signs we did not know and we will move in a minute and asked for her name. She refused to give me her name and said “ lady, do you know what a minute means? “ I said 60 seconds and started packing up to move away from area. I did not want to cause a scene in front of kids. First- no signs posted, second: not asking nicely to move just “you must move”, third- rude attitude by park employee Tiffany . I went to the office to find out her name and she was frankly confrontational- no apology. I never refused to move and said nothing back to her. Most likely her attitude was due to us being immigrants with an accent. Oh well- rude rude rude. We have been going to this park forever but will just find a new spot.

The Park is lovely, but we held a non religeous memorial last weekend and have never been treated so badly, it was horrific . It appears that the duty manager on Saturday lacks any sensitivity and is a really nasty human being. Our Day started at 9:30 with a call from him saying flowers had been delivered (a gift) and that he would not take delivery of them, and my sister (widowed 5 days earlier) was told to come now, despite the fact she was in the shower and not due to arrive for another 30 minutes. We managed to get someone to go down to help, but it was a very stressful start to proceadings. We then arrived to be told that if the man setting up the live feed did not move his truck he would get a ticket. Then as one of our party waited by the office he heard the manager call the police, saying drinking was taking place ( I assume this was becasue people had brought picnics, as we were trying to create a festival feeling. THe the police arrived, but no drinking was taking place so he just waited around in the park. To cap it all this moron of a manager walked up to the Widow, just before she went up to the podium to give her Eulogy and told her she had lost her deposit and if anyone drank alcohol they would be arrested....Again nobody was drinking so this didnt happen, but what a thing to say to a widow at a moment like that. I have no idea what is wrong with this person, but no right minded human being should behave in such a crass and frankly cruel way. I do not this this persoin should be working with the public at all. It is this persons behaviour that I am highlighting, the park is lovely and our day was not ruined as we were not about to let a small minded idiot impact the love and respect we felt for the persons life we were celibrating, a wonderful man. But I cannot recomend the place while a moron like that is behaving in such a mannor. Quite disgusting really.

Trader Joes is walking distance if you forgot to bring a lunch.I rented a sail boat from Marina Sailing. We were able to rent a slip from the park and stayed the night. A gem of a park! Marina views on three sides, sea birds, sail boats, kayaks, shaded picnic areas, & the occasional barking of sea lions make this our favorite quick getaway. Pick up some takeout from one of the eateries (our favorite is Chipotle Mexican Grill) near the park entrance, then park for free on weekdays & kick back at this quintessential LA hangout. Disclaimer: Some homeless folks can sometimes get a bit rowdy from their base in one of the picnic pavilions. They only hassle each other, though, and generally keep to themselves. The park layout makes it easy to avoid them and find your own quiet nook among the evergreens. (My Christmas Day 2012 photos were shot here.)

Free summer concerts in the park right on the marina. Some friends of mine along with 2000 strangers where there to see Lalah Hathaway perform. Parking lots are available for a fee but can fill quickly with hot performers. Its best to take Uber/Lyft. Bring a blanket and a picnic. Stay the day and take a marina boat ride.
